And then Jesus came

1 Let us bow our heads just a moment in the presence of Almighty God to worship. Our heavenly Father, we are grateful to Thee for the privilege of coming to Thee in the name of Thy beloved Son, the Lord Jesus. And we pray that You will forgive us of every trespass that we have committed against Thee, then that we might be received tonight into Thy fellowship.
And may the Holy Spirit take the Word and minister to us tonight according as it would please Thee. And give unto us of Thy love, and Thy forgiveness, and of Thy blessings, that we might have a great fellowship together. Heal the sick and the needy. Save the lost. Get glory unto Thyself. For we ask it in Christ's name. Amen. You be seated.

2 It is indeed a privilege to serve the Lord anytime. And we are very grateful to be here in Phoenix tonight. And we are trusting that God will give us the exceedingly abundantly of His blessings.
And now, if I should call it ... so we can get quickly into the Word... I am one person that believes that faith cometh by hearing the Word. And I believe that God keeps His Word.
And we're going to read tonight out of the Gospel of Saint John, and the 11th chapter and the 17th verse.
And when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
And if I would take for a text tonight, as I have chosen for a few moments, I would take this text: "And Then Jesus Came."

John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

3 This we have before us tonight, is one of the greatest of all the Scriptures that we have in the New Testament, of the proof and the seal of Christ's divine Messiahship. This was one time that it took all the wind, as to say, out of the unbeliever's sails, of this great event.
No man could raise the dead except God alone. And this man had been dead and buried four days; corruption had already set in; his nose had fell in; and the skin worms was eating him up. And anyone knows that no one could raise the dead outside of being God alone.

4 Sometime ago, I was in a discussion with a lady, who was a religious person, or she claimed to be. And she said to me, "Mr. Branham, I admire your preaching, but there is one thing that you do wrong."
And I said, "I am always glad that someone will tell me where I am wrong, for I want to be right." And I appreciate anyone who will tell me when I am wrong. It shows your love for me. But then in being wrong, it's got to be proven wrong, and the proven wrong has to be by God's Bible.
And she said to me, "Here's where you're wrong. You place too much on Jesus. You make Him divine. And He was not divine."
I said, "Lady, if you can prove that by the Bible, then I will accept it."
And she said, "I most certainly can prove it by the Bible."
I said, "Then I want to know where."

5 And she referred to this Scripture, Saint John 11. She believed that He was only a prophet, and just an ordinary man, a good man, a prophet. Now, if Jesus was only a prophet, then we're all lost and in error. He was nothing short of Jehovah God, being manifested in the flesh. He was divine.
So she based her thoughts on this: She said, "Then if I can prove to you that He was just merely a man, will you then accept it, if I prove it by the Bible?"
I said, "Yes, ma'am. But I don't believe it can be done."
She said, "On the road down to the grave of Lazarus... I suppose you are familiar with the text."
I said, "Yes, ma'am. I am."
She said, "The Bible said, 'Jesus wept.'" And said, "That proves that He was a man, that He could only weep being a man."
I said, "That is true, but when He stood at the grave of Lazarus and called another man who had been dead four days, that was more than a man. That was the God in that man."
I said, "It is true that He was a man when He came down off the mountain, hungry, and searched all over the tree to find food. He was hungry like a man. But when He'd taken five biscuits and two fishes, and fed five thousand, that was more than a man. That was God in the man."

Matthew 14:19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Matthew 14:21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

Matthew 21:18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.

Matthew 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Mark 6:40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

Mark 6:44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

Mark 11:12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

Mark 11:13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

Luke 9:14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

Luke 9:16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

John 6:10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

John 11:43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

6 And it is true that He tired like a man; for one night after virtue had went from Him---all day long, preaching, praying for the sick---He was so tired, until the little rocking ship out on the sea in the waves, bouncing around like a little bottle stopper, when perhaps maybe ten thousand devils of the sea swore they'd drown Him that night, when they caught Him in a weakened condition laying in a boat asleep... He was resting and sleeping like a man. That's true. But when he put His foot on the brail of the boat, and looked up towards heaven, and said, "Peace," to the ocean, "Be still," and the winds and the waves obeyed Him, that was more than a man. That was God.
And it's true that He called for mercy at the cross. When He was dying, He called for mercy like a man, for He died like a man, for He had our sins upon Him, bearing them away. He was a man in His death. But on Easter morning, when the Roman seal... Neither could the grave or death hold Him, He proved He was God.
No wonder the poet said, "Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me; buried, He carried my sins far away; rising, He justified freely forever; someday He's coming; oh, glorious day!" That's the day we are looking for. It's been the thing that has thrilled the hearts of prophets and poets through the ages.

Matthew 8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

Matthew 8:25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

Mark 4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Luke 8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

Luke 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

7 The Old Testament looked for two great events. One of them was the coming of a Messiah, and the coming of the Holy Ghost. We look for two events: the outpouring in the last day, and the second coming of the Lord. And we are now having the outpouring, and the second coming is at hand. Oh, how it thrills the heart of a believer to know that this great day we are living in.
The scene that we have before us: the proof, a seal of His Messiahship... I don't know, but I believe it was in a little story that I read. Might not be authentic. I believe it was Ingraham's little "Prince Of The House Of David." And it's perhaps fiction. But a little story I was reading in "The Prince Of The House Of David," that Martha and Mary and Lazarus were friends to Jesus. Oh, that's what my heart's desire is to be: a friend of Jesus. There could be no greater friend in all the world than Jesus.

8 And then, we are taught in this little story, and by the Bible, that one day when Lazarus'd taken sick... Now, this little family had been excommunicated from their original church fellowship. And usually it will start just a little stir when you're going to believe on the Lord Jesus.
And they had give up everything that they had called religious, in order to believe on Him. And now, when they needed Him the worst in all the time of their life, there came a disappointment: Jesus had gone away. And if you read the Scriptures close, Jesus said in Saint John 5:19, "I do nothing, except My Father shows Me first."

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

9 Now, we find that Jesus one day, passing through a crowd of people, a little woman touched His garment. And He said He felt virtue go from Him. But how much greater was the resurrection of Lazarus than that, and there's nothing recorded that He felt virtue go from Him. What was it? One was the woman using God's gift; to the other was God using His own gift.
Now, that's what you see on the platform. Say, "What..." I've had so much criticism, saying, "What makes you get weak?" There's no need to try to explain it. It's past explaining. I can't understand it, but I can support it by the Scriptures. But I cannot explain it. These visions that happen on the platform is the people doing that. That's your own faith. You do that. You are using God's gift.
But then when I'm at home, or somewhere, or out in the courts, and the Lord raises up and shows a vision, that doesn't make me weak. My wife is in the audience tonight. And no one would be a better authority than she, to explain how these things come when we know nothing of it. Just be sitting and sometimes the vision will last for an hour or two hours, but instead of being weak when I come out of it I'm happy and joyful. That's God taking His gift and showing something, and the people can draw remunerations by their faith through that gift.

Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Luke 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

10 Now, God had showed Jesus to go away and stay for this amount of time. And many times we think that it's disappointing when we get down sick or we feel that something has happened. But if you just won't be discouraged, and remember that all things work together for good to them that love God. The footsteps of the righteous is ordered of the Lord.
Now, this little family, as they were in the worst condition they'd ever been in... Lazarus had taken sick, and they sent for their Friend and Buddy. He had sat at the table and had eat many times from their table. They had made Him a garment to wear. He laid His head upon the pillows that Martha and Mary had fixed the little needlework, trying to show all the respect that they could to Him. And why would He turn them down, when they were asking a favor?

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

John 11:1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.

John 11:3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

11 Many times we are led to that spot. "Why is it? If I go to church, and I live before God with all my heart, I try to be a just, honest person, and all that Christianity requires, why is it that these things happen?" But you know, many times they are blessings in disguisement. Many times we can't understand them. If you'll just let them alone, God will work it out just right.
Now, I want you to notice. This perhaps was the darkest hour this little family had ever seen. They'd left their church; their Friend, seemingly, had forsaken them. And all that they held dear was gone; the breadwinner was gone, their brother laying in the grave, and these two little helpless women, excommunicated from the church, marked as a holy-roller, fanatic for following the Lord Jesus... Could you imagine the scornful fingers of the city of Bethany pointing at them? Could you imagine hearing them say, "Now, where is that holy-roller friend of yours? You see, when the showdown comes, He's gone somewhere else and refused to come, help you."
You know that devil hasn't died since then. He still lives, scornful. But somehow another, when the darkest hour come... After four days the man was rotting in the grave; then they heard that Jesus was coming. And Martha had been dilatory in making ready for different things and so forth in the house, but she showed then what she was made out of. Oh, I believe...

12 To you Pentecostal people, that out here in the Methodist, and Baptist, and Presbyterian, and Lutheran churches, there's many a Martha out there tonight. I believe when the showdown comes, they'll show what they're made out of. I believe it.
And when Jesus came to the city, little Martha looked like had a right to go out and fuss at Him, but Martha had read a story once in the Bible; that where a Shunammite woman had lost her son, and the Shunammite woman recognized that God was in the prophet. And if God was in His prophet, how much more was He in His Son. She wasn't so much about the prophet; she was recognizing the God of the prophet. And she wasn't recognizing the man that seemingly had disappointed her, but the God that was in the man.
Oh, there it is. Not the action of the church, but the power of God that's in the church. Watch. Oh, in that hour no one knows how to sympathize unless they have come to that dark hour.

13 One time way down in Babylon, there was a scene, a drama being set. And that was that one morning a furnace had been het seven times hotter than it ever was het ... or, heated. Then when the issue went forth, that three of the believers of God that was standing firm on God's eternal promise...
Oh, I want you to see it. God has always respected any man who will stand firm on His promise. Oh, it looked like a dark time. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, with their hands tied behind them, and as it was, the king sitting on his throne said, "Now, boys, if you want to make a little compromising here, and would like to change your decision, we will give you a chance." But you know, that doesn't belong---a compromising in the heart of a believer who's solemnly set on "thus saith the Lord."
They said, "Our God is able to deliver us from them flames of the furnace. But nevertheless, we will not bow down to your images."

Daniel 3:15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

Daniel 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

Daniel 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Daniel 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

14 Oh, if the world tonight, if you women tonight, if you men tonight... You women, when the devil comes to tempt you when this sun gets a little warmer, to put on these old scandal clothes, and get on the street, and be popular, if you would say, "I will take the way with the Lord's despised few. Regardless of what takes place, I made my decision for Christ."
And if you men would get that wishbone out of your back, and a backbone in it, and would take your wife by the hand, and not let her do such a thing, God would respect you more for doing it. And you know that's right. There is times when men has got to stand, and the devil will toe the mark with you.

15 So, with their hands tied behind them on the death march, when the king called for the most able-bodied men that he had in his army, to push them into the fiery furnace... And on their death march with their hands tied behind them, standing firm on the promises that cannot fail, they walked that plank up to the top of that furnace, when the intense heat was so great until the men that was behind them, it slew their bodies, who had been fed on the king's wine and his beers, and all of his fatness of his land. And these people had pulse to eat; their little frail body wasn't nothing in physical match with the bodies that were behind them.
But man is not judged by how many muscles he's got; man is judged by character. I've seen men that weighed two hundred pounds and didn't have an ounce of man in them. Man is measured by character.

16 And the reason that heat didn't scorch those little brown Jewish bodies, God was in them hearts, a-beating. That made the difference. The Word was anchored in their hearts. "In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God; and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."
And as they walked that death march, one looking to the other, up at the top of the plank just before they was to step in, it looked like the darkest hour that they had ever come to. And just as their darkest hour come, as they made their final step down into the fiery furnace, then Jesus came along.
That's the way He does, just in the darkest of the hour. There's only one thing we have to do, and that's stand on God's eternal promises. Regardless of what comes or what goes, stand on the promise. Darkest of hour, and then Jesus come along.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

17 It was one night, when a little ship was out in the middle of the ocean ... or, the Sea of Galilee, bouncing around like a bottle stopper out there. The winds were contrary. The oars had broken. And a bunch of little disciples hugging one another together for the last time. The little old ship would've been soaked up and filled with water till it was water-logged.
That might be a great word for you Arizonans. Waterlog is when wood's all soaked up, and it's about to make it's last pitch. And as the little old boat rose each time, the next time it would go down surely. The devil was sitting on every wave and saying, "I got them now. They'll stop their preaching from now on."
They thought ... or, he thought that they'd went off without their Lord. But what did He do? He had climbed up on top of a mountain and was sitting up there, watching that little ship as she was bouncing in the sea.

Matthew 14:24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

Mark 6:48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

John 6:18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.

18 Oh, I'm so glad tonight that He climbed the ramparts of glory and sits in the Majesty on high and His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me. And He watches you.
Just in the darkest of the hour, when every pitch seemed to be the last one, then Jesus come along, walking on the sea. I want you to notice: They were helpless, hopeless, despairing; and when they saw Him, they were scared of Him. The only thing that could help them, they were afraid of it.
May I say this tonight: In this great hour, and atomic age, when this world is in despair, when nation is against nation, and total annihilation could come within thirty minutes to the world, Jesus is coming, walking along in this darkest of hour, and the world's afraid of Him, and they are saying it's holy-rollers, and fortunetellers, and everything else could be called

Matthew 14:26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

Mark 6:49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

John 6:19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.

19 I'm so glad that in this dark hour Jesus is walking along with His church, showing Hisself alive. This is the darkest hour this world has ever seen. Since the dawn of time, never has it been like this. Never has it been so separated; never has the church been so tore to pieces; never has it been so denominationally eat up, so many differences, so many sensations and things going on in the church. But right in the midst of it all, Jesus comes along in this darkest of the hour to show Himself and His love to His church. The darkest of hour, then Jesus comes along.
Across on the other side of the shore, when the little ship pulled itself into the shore the next morning, there had been a little woman who lived up on the hillside, that had perhaps sold everything on the farm, and had tried to be healed by the doctors; and none of them could do no good.
She'd perhaps sold the team; she'd sold everything she had, spent all her living; and her poor, little, frail, peaked body, her little pale cheeks, and every hope was gone; nothing could take place.
Of course, she had heard of Jesus, but He was all the way across the sea. And when the last penny had been spent; and when biscuits was made for breakfast, the barrel scraped the bottom; there was no more oil in the cruse; the money was spent; and she was still sick and weak. And just in that darkest of hour, a little boat landed down there, and Jesus came along, just at that dark hour. Oh, that's the way He does it.

Mark 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Luke 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

20 Now, she could not go to Jesus, but... Oh, there is one blessed thing. You can't go to Him, but He can come to you. And He has never at any time failed.
One day, way down in the land of Gadara, no doubt a sociable, God-fearing citizen once lived. And he got out with the wrong crowd. Maybe just married and had two or three little kiddies. But he got mixed up in the wrong group.
That's where many a young man and young woman loses out, getting mixed up in the wrong group, the wrong associates.
And so, one night they taken him out, give him a drink. "Oh, play a little game, or do this, or gamble a little. It won't hurt." Then the first devil entered him. He went home and had to tell his wife a lie. The second devil entered him. And on till he was possessed with a legion, and he'd got beyond any help. And the poor fellow was drove out into the tombs.
Did you ever notice, the devil likes to dwell in tombs? The devil stays around an old dead place. And that don't exclude churches either, when they get dead. It's a devil's hangout.

Matthew 8:28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

Mark 5:5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

Luke 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

21 And the poor fellow was drove out into the tombs, the dead place. And they bound him with chains, and he would pluck them asunder. Now, when the devil possesses a person, he becomes many times his strength. And if the devil can give you twice your strength, what do think God could do to you people sitting there in a wheelchair? What do you think God could do to you that's a sinner?
If the devil can drive you into a barroom, or out in the street immorally, or doing the things of the world---which is contrary to your own nature, because you were born to be a son and daughter of God, and the devil can make you do things and cheat on your husband, cheat on your wife, steal, lie---how much more can God do when He gets full possession of you?
And this fellow legion, once a gentleman, no hopes now; he's out in the tombs with the devil. And year after year he got worse and worse, and he got so that no man could pass that way. Now, he didn't want to hurt anyone. He knew better than to do that, but every time he seen someone, the devil would jump on to him, and he would go and try to kill that person, until everyone feared him.

Mark 5:3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

22 He was excommunicated from all society, from the city. The devil had drove him out of his mind, and he was out in the tombs, the darkest hour that he had ever seen. And then Jesus came along, and He cast the devils out of him. And those devils went into a herd of hogs, and they had sense enough to go drown themselves.
I've often wondered: When I get to heaven, I'd like to see how much strength his testimony had against hog raisers in that country after that.
They didn't want any revival, if it was going to cost them some hogs. They felt more at home with the hogs and the devils than they did with the Lord Jesus. They wanted their hogs, and asked Him to leave.
And that's the way it is tonight. People would rather stay in an old, stale, formal, ungodly, indifferent condition than to put up with a little wildfire now and then. I'd rather have it thousand times to one. They feel better at home with the devils in their old condition, drinking, smoking, gambling, wearing old dirty clothes, and bobbing off their hair, and doing all this other stuff that they do. Feel more at home doing that than you do to be called old-fashioned and have Jesus around the house. I will take Him a hundred billion times to the one.

Matthew 8:32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Mark 5:13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Luke 8:33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

23 The darkest of hour, then Jesus came along. Could you imagine, legion going back down to his home, and finding where he used to live. The little wife had to sell the place. And he wondered where she was at, so he searched from place to place. Finally someone said, "She lives down in the alley."
And then he goes down there in a little old tin shack, and the children see him coming, they run to hide. The wife grabbed up her little shawl, and put on her, and started out the gate. And he said, "Never mind, honey. Never mind, children. Come here to daddy. I want to take you on my arms. I want to put my arms around you, sweetheart. Your little dresses are tore off."
Oh, she said, "What happened?"
He said, "Jesus came along." That's what made the difference. "Oh, wife, babies, come here. It was the darkest time. The devils were tormenting me, and then Jesus came along."

24 Oh, in those dark hours, the man laying at the pool, how he had been for many years, about thirty-eight years, with an infirmity. And he had brought him to the pool. He was getting old. And great multitudes laid there. And they tell us that they stabbed one another, trying to get into the pool first.
And the poor fellow didn't have a chance. Some young fellow could push him back and get on in the pool. And he was laying there after suffering thirty-eight years. The doctors had give him up, nothing could be done. And he had no possessions but a little pallet he was laying on. Right in the darkest of his hour, then here come Jesus along and said, "Take up your bed and go into your house."
Oh, it makes the human heart scream, "Hallelujah," when you think of it. Darkest of the hour...

John 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

John 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

25 There was an old blind beggar, as we talked of last night, sitting by the gates of Jericho, all hopes gone. He was blind. Odds was against him; his age was against him; the public was against him; everything seemed to be against him. And right while he sat in the darkest of the hour, then Jesus came along, and it turned his darkness unto light. All things seems to be all right when Jesus comes along. Always.
Way after the resurrection, a disheartened little bunch of disciples had gathered at different places. Peter said, "Well, I'm just going to go fishing. I'm so discouraged. How could it be that that One that I seen called Lazarus from the grave? How could it be when I stood there and seen the woman of Nain, her only son dead, and He laid His hand on the bier and said, 'Young man, arise,' and I saw him come to life? I witnessed, seeing Lazarus after being dead four days, his old grave clothes wrapped over his face and over his body, come forth from the grave.
"I seen Him turn water to wine. I saw Him touch a leper that was as white as snow, and the very blush of health was in his cheeks in a few minutes. How could it be that He could hang on that cross with mockery soldiers' spit on His face? How could it be that He could lay His hands down, and could drive nails in His hand? How could it be that He'd permit a crown of thorns pulled down over His face, and cross His feet, and let them drive spikes in His feet?

Luke 7:14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

Luke 7:15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

Luke 18:35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

John 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

John 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

26 "How could He stand there rolling after a cat-o'-nine-tail had split his back and the ribs was shining through? How could He let them treat Him like that? How could He hang there between the heavens and earth and the blood running from Him, and let those mockery priests, his arch-enemies, walk by and sass Him? How could He let a Roman soldier put a band around His head and hit Him, and say, 'Now, you who prophesies, and can foretell, tell us who hit you; we will believe you.'?
"How could it be? How could it be that He could let that high priest walk out there, say, 'Come down off of the cross, if thou be the Christ, and we will believe you.'? How could it be that a great person like that who we believe to be the Son of God, could ever go through such torment and punishment as that and sit silent?"

Matthew 26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

Matthew 26:68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

Matthew 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

Luke 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

27 Oh, it was a dark hour, the darkest hour they'd ever seen. See them pull the nails out, see Him bow His head and die, and they'd taken His body and put it in Joseph Arimathaea's grave. How could it be? When He seen that big rock laid up there, and the Roman seal put on it, how could it be? He was so discouraged. He said, "I just believe I'll go fishing."
And the disciples said, "Well, I'll go with you."
All night long in discouragement they had pulled and had caught nothing. The Lord was gone. Seemed like everything was gone. They couldn't even as much as catch a fish. Right in their darkest of hours, Someone stood on the bank and said, "Children, have you got any meat?"

Matthew 27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

Matthew 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

28 On the road to Emmaus, on that first Easter morning when the whole world was in bloom with flowers, buds, the bees a humming, on that beautiful April morning, little did the disciples know that He was raised from the dead, and was among the resurrection. And as His friend Cleopas, and his friend was on the road to Emmaus, very much discouraged, but they were pondering on the Scriptures.
Did you notice? While they were talking on the Scriptures, He appeared. And on their road down, the darkest hour they had ever seen, every hope gone, and about that time Jesus come on the scene, but they didn't know Him.
And I'm sure that's the fault of many churches today. Jesus is here, but they don't know it. They don't realize it. And in this great hour that we're now living, in the day that when the nominal world is all bringing themselves together to form the mark of the beast, when the confederation of churches is swallowing them up, all denominations, and in the time that when even our Full Gospel brethren are differing, and fussing, and fighting, and pulling, and stewing over little bitty Scriptural differences, and each one separating themselves and getting different, and calling disciples, I begin to think it's more for a meal ticket than it is to get souls saved.

Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

Luke 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

Luke 24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

29 But, you know what? Right in this darkest of hours, right when they're making a order in the courts today that all these little preachers outside of the confederation of churches is not going to be able to broadcast anymore on the radio, and they're not going to have any television; they won't let them on there.
What is it? Nothing but petty jealousy. They are trying to stop the message of God. They're trying to keep this from the people. They are ignorant that they're trying to do it. They don't realize what they're doing. But Jesus said it would be a time that they'd even kill you, thinking they're doing God service. But, brother, the thankful part of it is, right in this darkest of hour, Jesus has come along, and He's proving Himself alive.

John 16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

30 And I believe that He is here tonight. And I believe that He proves to us day by day and night by night, that He is with us. So let them throw all the atomic bombs they want to; that's up to them. There's one thing that I know:
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness.
When all around my soul gives way,
Then He's all my hope and stay.
For on Christ the solid rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
Let us pray. Our heavenly Father, as we come to Thee tonight with grateful hearts, that in all of our differences in all of our little scruples and petty childlike things, You've come to us anyhow. You've come to visit us. And You are our guest.
Oh, how we should treat You, to know the only hope there is for humanity, and here You are tonight in our little ship as she's tossed from church to church, from place to place. But in this dark hour You've come to us. And we are grateful to Thee.
And now, Lord, I pray, if there be any sinners in the building, that this night that they will recognize that You are here and Your presence is here, Your Spirit is here, and that You are wanting them to come to Thee. Hear the prayer of Your servant, as I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

31 Now, my dear friends, as my mother always told me this that words are meaningless unless they have a meaning that can be proved. All the preaching I could do, would be no more than an auctioneer or anything else that can make a noise or preach on whatever they wish to, unless God backed up what He said He would do.
And then, that's the preacher preaching, but when God comes and proves that what the preacher has said is right, then to disbelieve that is sin. What is sin? Unbelief. Smoking, drinking, using tobacco, gambling, committing adultery, that's not sin. That's not sin. That's the attributes of unbelief. The reason you do that, is because you don't believe. That's the reason you do it.

32 If you believed Christ, you wouldn't do that, for you're born again when you believe. "He that heareth My words, believeth on Him that sent Me, believeth on Him that sent me, hath (present tense) everlasting life, and shall not come to the judgment; but is passed from death to life." That's Jesus own words.
Then when you believe on the Lord Jesus, accept Him as your personal Saviour, the Holy Ghost will baptize you then into the believers to confirm that faith, and then you are a real child of God, filled with the Holy Ghost, ready for the rapture. Not with just a virgin, but a virgin with oil in their lamp, ready to go. May the Lord add His blessings.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

33 Now, tonight we're going to call some sick people up here to pray for them. And now, I want to ask something. Is there anyone here who has never been in the meetings before, would you raise your hand? Some... God bless you. That's mighty fine. Thank you for coming.
I wish to say this, my friends. I am not a healer. I cannot heal people. I don't believe there's any man, doctor, or hospital, or medicine that can heal people. I believe that healing, it lays in God alone.
Now, a doctor can move an obstruction; he can set a bone, pull a tooth, take out a tumor. But that doesn't heal. That merely just moves the obstruction. God does the healing. Healing is creation. It's to create and to rebuild. And no medicine can rebuild your body. Only God alone can rebuild. That's right. God is the one who heals.

34 But God has sent in the church five different gifts: apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors. Those are for the perfecting of the church. That is His proof, His ministering Spirit to the church to bring the body of Christ together.
And oh, I'd like to ask you this one thing: If Christ is alive, if He's alive tonight, not dead but alive, and He will come right here and do the very same things He did when He was here on earth, it would be a perfect proof that He is alive.
Now, to me this Bible is either the truth or it isn't the truth. I'm an honest man or I'm not an honest man. You are a Christian or you're not a Christian. You see what I mean? Now, if this is not the Bible, if it's just like the Koran, let's forget about it. Go on, eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you die.
But if it is the Bible, let's embrace it, for it is the only book that tells you where you come from, who you are, and where you're going. And it's belief in it determines where you spend your eternal destination. Believe on Him; have faith in Him.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

35 And the Bible declares that Jesus has raised from the dead. And Jesus said after He had raised from the dead, "I will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world." He said, "A little while and the world..." Now, that world is... The "cosmic" word there, cosmic which means "the world order: the church, the so-called church. "The world won't see Me no more."
Just think, friends, before we start the prayer line: There is people in Phoenix tonight that would not believe Jesus Christ, regardless of what He would do. Do you know the Bible said they were born to this condemnation? That's right. God's not willing that any should perish, but being God He knowed who would perish and who would not perish. He's not willing, but they will anyhow.
To be God, He knowed every flea, every fly, every mosquito, every person, everything else would ever be on the earth, before the earth was ever created. If He isn't, He wasn't God. That's right. But He knows.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

36 And to you who had the privilege that God would knock at your heart, and give you an opportunity to accept, and to make a choice, and then turn it down... Brother, I say this with respect, but hell's not good enough. That's right. For a person who would realize that Jesus Christ, the only hope of eternal life...
Can you hope in your job to give you eternal life? Can you hope in your daddy or mama? Can you hope in your wife, your husband? Can you hope in your popularity? Can you hope in your society? Can you hope in your church? Can you hope in your pastor? Can you hope in the evangelist? No, sir. God alone can give you eternal life.
And why would you hold to those things which are worldly, and faultry, and failing, even to your pastor, even to the church, even to the organization, to your societies, and everything? Why would you hold to that, when the living Christ is here to give you eternal life, with a sworn promise He'd raise you up at the last day? And you'd turn it down. Be sure you understand. And I'm trusting tonight...

37 Do you know what? Let me say to this to you from my heart: One day before long, every person here is going to stand with me before Christ.
And do you know our voice never dies? Do you know our thoughts in heaven is stronger than our voice on earth? And when God throws His big radar screen out there, and your thoughts in this meeting tonight vibrate against it, what's going to happen at that day? Just think of that. Think of it, lady. Think of it, man. Be sincere.

38 Now, we're going to call some people to come to be prayed for. And I want to ask you this before I do it: if Christ will do the same things on the platform tonight... For your sake, will you believe that He has raised from the dead, if He will do the very same things that He did before He was crucified, and said, "The things that I do, shall you do also. I will be with you, even in you. And the very works that I do, you'll do also."... Did He say it?
Did He say, "A little while and the world won't see Me no more"? But He said, "Yet ye shall see Me, for I will be with you (How long?) to the end of the world." All the way... The world has never come to an end yet.

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

39 And Christ is still with His believers. The world is still saying, "Nothing to it; fanaticism." They are scared to look at it at the Word. That's why the Pharisees wouldn't believe Him. They had their own little dogmas. They had failed to see it. Jesus said, "If you would've known Me, you would've known My day. Isaiah spoke of Me," and said the things He would do.
Now, Jesus said that the things that I do, shall you do all the way to the end of the world. What did He do? He preached the Gospel to the poor, to the needy. He was a common man, ordinary man. He didn't claim to be a healer. He said, "It's not Me that doeth the healing. It's not Me that doeth the works; it's My Father that dwelleth in Me. He doeth the works. I do nothing till I see the Father show Me first, then I go do it." Is that right? And what did the Father show Him?

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

John 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

40 One time there was a man come to Him; they'd been in a little prayer meeting, the fellow had met him, brought him back. And Jesus stood and told him where he had been and who he was. And what did them Pharisees say? They said, "He's Beelzebub, the devil." Now, if they'd only looked...
Now, look at this Jew, Nathanael. When he saw that done---that miracle done---he said, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God. You're the King of Israel." That man knowed that was the sign of the Messiah. He said, "You're the Son of God," by doing it.
Jesus said, "Because I told you what your ... where you'd been, or whatever you was (Told that you was a Christian, or a believer, as we'd call it), you believe Me? You can see greater than this."

Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Mark 3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

Luke 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

John 1:50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

41 Then a little woman of Samaria come one time. And He stood and talked to her a few minutes, and He found her trouble. Said, "Go, get your husband."
She said, "I don't have any."
Said, "That's right. You got five. The one you're living with now is not your husband. In that thou saidst right."
Now, look what she said. Now, she wasn't a Jew; she was a Samaritan. That had been done... She said, "Why, sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. We know, we Samaritans know that when the Messiah cometh, He will do this. That was a sign of the Messiah. We know that when the Messiah cometh, He will tell us all things." But she couldn't understand who He was.
He said, "I am He that talks to you, that speaketh with you."
She run into the city and said, "Come, see a man who told me these such and such things. Isn't this the very Messiah?" If that was the Messiah to the Jew, the honest Jew, if that was the Messiah to the Samaritan, the honest Samaritan, it's the sign of Messiah to the Gentile, the honest Gentile, not the church member Gentile; the honest Gentile, that's honest at heart, that looks in God's Word and sees that that's true.

John 4:16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

John 4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

John 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

42 Now, Father God, it's in Your hands. And I pray that You'll heal tonight every person in Divine Presence. And this bunch of handkerchiefs that's laying here in this little package, O God, out across these deserts and across the country, they'll be going. Maybe they mean to little sick children, poor old blind daddy sitting in a room somewhere, maybe a sick mother in the hospital... Thou knowest all about them, who they represent. And God, as we send this token, we send it, because we believe that the devil is defeated and every act that he performs.
And, O God, one writer said that when the Red Sea got in the way of God, His church was coming marching on... Oh, all nature must have trembled when they seen them backed up in a corner, but God looked down through that pillar of fire, and the sea got scared, and it rolled back its walls, and opened up that path that God seen in the bottom of the sea. And He took His children across on dry land.
O God, when these handkerchiefs are laid upon the sick, may You look through the blood of Jesus and see the promise, and may the devil get scared and move back. And may Your children, who are in this journey, cross on to the land of good health and strength, through the promise of Christ. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

Exodus 14:29 But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

43 Now, what was that we was calling from? U's, wasn't it last night, I believe? I believe that's right. Let's call tonight from ... start at 75. Who has U-75? Let's start from there. You have it, lady? All right. 75, 76? Man, you have it, right over here? 77? 78, who has prayer card 78? U, it's got a U on it and 78. Would you raise your hand? Is this lady 78? 79? Does this other lady have 79? 80, raise your hand so I can see. You have 80, sir? All right. 81? Would you raise your hand? Who has 81? All right, lady. 82? All right. 83? All right. 84? All right. 83? 84? All right, sir, 84. 85? 86? All right, 87? 88? 89? 89? Well, it's... I can't see it.

44 It doesn't matter just how many. Sometimes we can get to all of them; sometimes we can't. Who doesn't have a prayer card, and is sick? Let's see your hand. I'd like to see those. All right. Over here without prayer cards? I'd like to see sometime... The people who has prayer cards, We don't want them... You know, I want ... still have a chance to get in the line, see. But those without...
All right. How many believes that Jesus is still the same yesterday as that woman passed through ... or, He passed through and that little woman went and touched His garment? And she went off... Now, remember, all the congregation was just a hugging at Him, but the little woman touched His garment, and then she went away out and stood in the crowd, maybe twice the size of this. Jesus said, "Who touched Me?"
Now, listen to this story. "Who touched Me?"
Everybody denied it. "Not me. Not me." Perhaps she did too, "Not me." But He had a power. He said, "I got weak."
Peter said, "Why, Lord," rebuked Him, said, "all the crowd's touching You, and why say, 'Who touched Me?'"
He said, "But I perceive that I've got weak."
See, she used God's gift. God never showed Him nothing. She did it. That's what happens here. It's you do it. Then Jesus looked around till He found her. And He said... She had a blood issue, and her faith had saved her. Is that what the Bible said? "Thy faith has made thee whole."

Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mark 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

Luke 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

45 Now, the Bible said in Hebrews that "Jesus Christ is a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmity." How many knows the Bible says that? Now, how're you going to know, if there isn't some way of letting you know? He could be... If He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He operates in the same way. Is that right? That's the way He does it.
Now, you look at the High Priest of our confession, believe with all your heart, for He is a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities, and you believe. Now, I want you all here in the wheelchairs...

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

46 A few nights ago, friends, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I seen a person bound in a wheelchair for I couldn't tell you how long. And they brought her to the platform. The poor thing, I guess, was ... had just thought because she got a prayer card and was called to the platform she was going to get well. And she hadn't been on the platform a moment until the wheelchair was moved away and she was shouting and running everywhere.
The other night standing here in the building, they were telling me that a little Indian baby come to the platform with crossed eyes. I didn't know it. But in the vision of the woman that had the baby, had showed the baby being cross-eyed, and when I looked down to the baby, it's eyes was just as perfect as anybody's.
No one prayed; no one touched it at all, nobody here. But God touched the baby. The presence of the Lord was here to heal. Why did it get it? It was a baby. It don't have the superstitions and calluses and wonderings that we have. You stand there, just caught the vision of it; God healed the baby, no prayer nor nothing. God did it. That's the way God likes to do it.

47 This is on a higher level than laying on of hands. You say, "Well, Brother Branham, if they lay your hands on..." I know. Brother Roberts, Brother Allen, many of the other brothers who are out praying for the sick, they lay hands on them, maybe anoint them with oil. That's exactly the Scripture. That's perfectly right. See, they have gifts of healing. This is a prophetic gift. That's to touch each one. That's a Jewish way of believing it.
You know, Jairus said, over there he said, "Come, lay Your hands on my little girl, and she will be well." That was a Jew. But what did the Gentile say? "I'm not worthy that You come under my roof. Just say the word; that's all." There you are. What's happened to the Gentiles? Had too much teaching. That's right.
The Gentile said, "I'm a man under authority." Now, watch what he recognized in Jesus. Said, "I'm a man under authority. And I say to this man, 'You go do this,' and he does it. He has to because I've got the authority over him. I say to this man, 'Come,' he comes; that man, 'Go,' and he goes." He said, "You just speak the word."

Matthew 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

Matthew 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Matthew 9:18 While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

Mark 5:23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

Luke 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Luke 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

48 What did he recognize? He recognized that every devil, and every sickness, and every disease was under Jesus Christ. He was the boss of the whole situation. "Just say the word. My servant will live. I'm not worthy, Lord, that You come to my house. But You just say the word, and my servant will live."
Jesus turned around and said, "I've not found faith like that in Israel." That's right.
Oh, I want you to believe Him without hands laying on. Just simply believe that the presence of the Lord is here to heal the sick. And if the Lord will come here and prove to you that His presence is here, then who's fault is it? Yours, is right. Certainly. The presence of the Lord...

Matthew 8:10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Luke 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

49 Now, if I lay my hands on you and say, "Now, I'm going to do this. I'm going to..." Oh, you say, "Brother Branham sure healed me. Boy, he put his hands on me. Oh, I believe he's a man of God." That would be Brother Branham getting praise.
But if you sit out there and say, "Lord Jesus, I love You." And I don't even touch you; Brother Branham has nothing to do with it. Jesus Christ gets the praise. There you are, see. It's Him we want to be praised: "Thy name shall be praised."
And the only thing that through a divine gift, if He will permit us, we can prove that He's here. And then where He's here, His presence is here to heal. How many understands it? Amen. May He grant it.

50 Now, of course, you realize, I'm trying to get my manager here, Mr. Moore, to do some preaching. I'm hoarse; my throat's bad; I hadn't hardly had a night off since last October or November. I've got week after week yet ahead of me. And then, perhaps, overseas and to Africa, to down in the... Everywhere, overseas, a complete world tour laying right ahead of me, hoarse and weak...
Brother Moore's a fine little man. We all love him. He's one of the finest men I ever met. But he says, "Well, Brother Branham, the people want to hear you. You stand up there and talk to them; they believe you." I'm trusting that's so.
So now, I'm trying... In preaching, sure, it throws the anointing of that other away. It's another anointing. One is the gift of preaching, teacher, pastor, evangelist. Them's all separate gifts. Prophecy is another---a seer. It's another anointing. But God in His grace so far has helped us. I trust that He will tonight. And if He does, then that'll prove His presence is here.

51 Brother Branham has not one thing to do with it, not one thing. Even the visions, I don't have one thing to do with it. You do that yourself. Well say, "Why do you have the people on the platform?" Sometimes I don't even have them here. And I can prove to you right now that the people don't have to be on the platform. No, sir.
If the presence of the Lord is here, then His gift works without anybody on the platform. Certainly it does. Have faith and believe. Trust God. Don't doubt, but have faith. The Bible said, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible."
If the audience would ever be settled to a spot, where every face would look right straight to Calvary... Take me out of the picture; look at Calvary. I'm not the High Priest; He's the High Priest. I have nothing to do, but yield myself. This here thing is a dumb mute without a voice to speak in it. So am I. How do I know... There's not a person here...

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

52 I believe awhile ago I recognized Brother Stadsklev, Julius Stadsklev, a captain in the army. He was here somewhere. He's a good friend of mine, wrote the book, the African book. I seen him somewhere awhile ago. And that, as far as I know... Yeah, Brother Julius, I'm glad to see you and Sister there tonight.
And outside of them, looking in the audience, as far as I know, I don't know anyone. And you know I don't... If Julius has something wrong with him, he or Sister Stadsklev, I don't know what it would be. That's right. In the prayer line, I guess I'm a stranger, 'course I... Brother Brown, these men here, I know them. But I want you to believe. And may the presence of the Lord come and heal the sick.

53 What do you think about it, little Mexican lady, sitting out on the end there, suffering with a nervous condition, sitting there with a little scarf around your head? Do you believe with all your heart? You been extremely nervous lately, haven't you? If that's right, raise up your hand. All right. Now, your faith has healed you. You can go home and be well.
Now, do you have to have one, anyone on the platform? That woman was sitting there, believing that to be the truth. Watch her, how she's weeping. She can't help it. That light fell right over her. That's what makes her act like that, see. That woman's been so nervous, till the devil's even tried to tell her that she's crossed the separating line. That's right. Blackness hangs around her; but she's healed now.
Little Mexican man right behind her with a back trouble, you believe God would make you well, sir? You believe that? All right, sir. That's what you had, is that right? Raise up your hand if that's right. Now, you can go home and your back trouble has left you. Amen.

54 Here's a lady sitting right in here, right down here looking at me, white woman looking towards me. She has a back trouble too. If she believes with all of her heart, she can be made well. If you believe it. That's up to you. God will do it, if you'll accept it, and believe with all your heart, God will make you well.
What do you think about it, little lady? Do you believe with all your heart? If you would, epilepsy would leave you. Never have to have it no more. You believe that God would make you well? Would you believe Him, trust Him? If you would, it'd never bother you, if you can believe with all your heart.
Arthritis would leave you, sir, if you'd believe with all your heart. Amen. See, you don't have to have people up here. You just have to have faith.
What do you think of that throat trouble? Believe it'll leave you, make you well? The lady sitting right next there. When that man raised his hand, it jumped to you and I seen that light going; it went up there in the balcony to that girl sitting there and come back down here to you again. You have throat trouble. That's right. You believe that God make you well? It's left you now. Amen. Have faith in God.

55 Come, lady. You believe with all your heart? I'm a stranger to you. I don't know you. God does know you. If God will tell me what's your trouble right here (You be the judge.), do you believe that you could accept it then? You believe that His presence would be here then?
Will the audience believe with all their heart? Now, the lady's a stranger to me. I've never seen her in my life. But God knows you. You know I'm a stranger. Is that right? If it is, so the people could know, raise up your hand. The lady's already anointed. The light's on the lady, because she's a Christian, a believer.
I see the little lady all upset about something. She's praying, moving back and forth. And she's got trouble with her lungs too. That is right. I see something... You're fixing for a... No, you have been operated on. It was a gall condition you was operated on for. That's right.
Then you're upset about somebody, a son about twenty-one years old, got a spirit of evil has overcome the boy. That's right. I can't heal. But you can't hide your life now, see. It's in His presence. That's true. Will you believe God for these things?
O God of heaven, send Thy mercies upon the woman, and may she go from here and be made well, and may the tears on this handkerchief be tokens for her son. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you, little lady. Go believing.

56 Now, don't doubt. Have faith. It's not bad, son. Don't worry. It'll leave you; just believe now. You're a fine young man. It's a shame. Don't worry; you'll overcome that now, if you'll just believe.
I never seen you in my life as I know of, but God knows you. You're not here for yourself. You're here for somebody else. That man doesn't even ... is not even here. He lives in California. That man's your brother. And he's had something wrong with him, and that's connected with this same thing here. Your brother had something like the flu, and it hurt him, and it affected his mind. That's right. That is true.
You believe that he'll be healed? Go tell Mr. Buford then that he will be well. In the name of the Lord Jesus, may he receive his healing. Amen. God bless you. Go, believing with all your heart.
If thou canst believe, all things are possible. Now, here's that same thing again. No, here it is. You are suffering with a nervous condition and with trouble in your bowels. That's right. And your husband's suffering with a bowel trouble too, and a mental condition. That's exactly right. There's that devil trying to move through there. All right, take that handkerchief and lay it on him. In the name of Jesus Christ, may he be made well.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

57 Have faith in God. Do you believe His presence is here to heal? I have nothing to do with it.
Now, I don't know you. But God does know you, doesn't He? You believe that? All right. You've got a nervous condition. You got something wrong in your side. That's right. You have a heart trouble. That's right. Yes, sir, a nervous heart. Let me tell you, if you believe me to be God's prophet... Do you do that? You want me to pray for your grandson, because he's got a nervous trouble? That's right, isn't it? Then you believe me? Then in Jesus' name, receive what you ask for. Amen.
Have faith in God. If thou canst believe... Now, what is it, friends? It's not me. It's the presence of the Lord. He's here to heal the sick, to make you well. Believe Him.
Well, your trouble's in your arm and in your back. And about two days ago, you got a fall and hurt them all over again. That's right. Is that strange to you? You're not from here anyhow. You're from out Glendale way. Your name's Mary, isn't it? Go home, and be made well. In the name of the Lord Jesus.

58 Have faith in God. Do you believe?
How do you do, sir? I never seen you in my life, did I, as far as I know. You've seen me, but I've never seen you. Well, here's one thing I want to tell you: A few nights ago sitting here in the audience, you accepted your healing from a heart trouble. That's right. Is that right? All right. And you're here now for somebody else. It's your stepson. Exactly right. He's got a spinal condition. Exactly right. He's a alcoholic. You don't even know where he's at. Is that right? You believe me to be His prophet? Then the presence of the Lord is here to give you your request. O God, in Christ's name, may he receive it. Amen. God bless you. Have faith.
You believe? Now, friends, this could just keep on going, going, going. But I'm getting weak. That's exactly right. What is it? Because you people are doing it. Your faith is doing it. It's just a pulling, just a pulling.

59 Now, this lady here, I've never looked at her. I couldn't even tell you whether she's a young woman or an old woman. If God will show me here what's wrong with this woman, will you believe with all your heart? All right, lady, if you believe with all your heart, you can go home and eat your supper, and the ulcer in your stomach will be gone. You believe it? All right, then go eat your supper. Amen. In the name of the Lord Jesus.
If you believe with all your heart, kidney trouble will leave you---back. You believe you'll get well? Let's say, "Praise the Lord." Do you believe His presence is here? How much do you believe? With all your heart?

60 I wonder if there's a sinner here that believes that His presence is here. Do you? Do you believe He's here? It may be your darkest hour that you've had, right now, but if you believe with all your heart, will you come here and stand with me just a moment for prayer? Will you do it? God bless you, sir. Come right out. That's the way to do it. Move right out. Amen. God bless you.
What about you, lady, sitting there, you want to come up? God will heal you of that poor circulation that you've been having sitting there. That shock you? You've been having poor circulation, haven't you? If that's right raise up your hand. All right, come stand here.

61 All right, sinner, come on now. It's your time, backslider, you lukewarm church member, you sinner. It's your time to come while the presence of the Lord is here. Will you believe it? Let's bow our heads now just a moment.
O God, if this is the last meeting that Phoenix will ever have, You've witnessed Yourself alive. You are here. Your presence is here to do the greatest healing, to heal the sin sick soul, to heal the weary, to bring those in who are indifferent, those people who joined church and doesn't know You by the Spirit. They've never been born again. They don't know what it means to have peace, that perfect peace that passeth understanding. I pray, God, that You'll cast away all the fear, and bring those people around this altar just now, and give a healing to the body of Christ.
And, Lord, if there be some here who's so churchy and so indifferent, that they won't fellowship with the other groups, God, I pray that You'll make them ashamed of theirselves; and if they're guilty of this sin, may they come to the altar now and confess theirself. And may there be a breaking up in Phoenix, an old-fashioned get-together, a pouring out of the Holy Ghost because of Your presence. Grant it, Lord.

62 Now, I ask you to come, with your heads bowed and in prayer. And while the choir sings with us, will you come? Come, sinner; I want you to stand around the altar, backslider, and backbiter. I want you to come and stand around the altar.
In Christ's name, if you judge me to be His prophet, I tell you this, that in Christ's name, you'll pay for your sins if you leave this building tonight without coming here and making things right before God. Now, if you believe me by vision, if you believe that God has spoke to me, and believe that He speaks through me, make your way to this altar, if you are not right with God. Let us sing. All right.
Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood........
Come down out of the balcony up here. Come on. Come down out of the balconies. That's it. Come right on down.
... that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O ... (Right back this a way, come down,
right...) God, I come! I come!

63 Listen, sinner friend, you that's indifferent, you may be sitting in the balcony, you may be thinking it's a long ways down to this altar, but, brother, from hell to heaven is a long ways too. Come now. Come out of your seat now. If you are convinced... If you're not, I don't know whether there's any hope for you or not.
After Christ coming and proving His Word, making Himself known, and coming present like this, and doing what He is doing, the living God, Who's raised from the dead, and standing here... And if you judge me to be His servant and me pleading to you with all my heart, my poor hoarse different voice will call out in the hour of your death, on your dying bed. It'll haunt you through all ages. Make your way to the altar while we sing.
Just as I am, without one plea,
(Won't you come?)
... that Thy blood was shed for thee,
And that Thou bidd'st me come to Thee,
O..................
That's... Come right out of the balcony, right down; we will wait for you. God bless you, sis. God bless you, children.
... I come! (Hum it now.)
[Brother Branham begins humming.]

64 Oh, would you turn Him away while His presence is here? Come right on, young man. God bless you. That one soul might be a Gospel preacher coming there, that'll sweep the message of the Lord Jesus across the country. Come right on, men. That's right, brother. That's right, sister. Here comes a man packing his baby. He wants to come anyhow, and his little wife. God bless them. Come right on down. That's right.
O Lamb of God, I come! I come!

65 Here comes a poor Indian woman; here's another one, weeping, coming down. Won't you come? That's right, my Indian sister. It's for whosoever will. Come right... That's right. Christ died to save sinners, regardless of who they were. Won't you come just now? How could you sit still, knowing that there's something on your heart and mind? How could you do it, to know that sin has separated you from the blessings of God, and His presence here. If you don't believe it, I challenge you to accept it.
Now, this is not something made up, some psychology. This is the Lord Jesus raised from the dead, two thousand years, infallible proof. The same life that He lived, He's living right here among you tonight.

66 God bless you, little man. God bless you ladies there. Won't you come? Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot. Won't you come? That's right, young man, walk right down. God bless your gallant soul.
If He will hear me, if right here on this platform the power of God could make a blind baby ... or, a crooked-eyed baby come straight, cause the things to happen that's been happening, standing here and proving by infallible proofs that He's here, sure He wants your soul.
Just remember, in the morning, may be too late. At eleven o'clock tonight, may be too late. An ambulance may be screaming and blood running out of your vessels, through your arms, and you're gone. What did He say? "If you won't accept Me, neglect me, in the days while you are now, in the days of your calamity, I will only laugh at you."
What would it be, if you're a cold, formal church member, sitting here expecting the church to take you to heaven? The church will only confuse you. Christ can take you to heaven, and Him alone.

67 I don't care if you're Catholic, that doesn't matter. A Catholic, if a Christian... A Catholic is a Christian and believes on the Lord and is borned again, he will go to heaven. If a Methodist---that don't matter---Presbyterian, Lutheran, or a Pentecostal, no matter...
Oh, you say, "I've spoke in tongues." That don't have nothing to do with it. "I've shouted." That still don't have nothing to do with it. Paul said, "I could speak in tongues like men and angels and still be lost. I could have faith to move mountains and still be lost." That ain't it. If the divine love of God isn't in your heart to take everything of the world out, you're lost. That's right. And the devil's only deceiving you.

1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

1 Corinthians 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

68 Now, if you believe me to be His servant, if God has proved by His Word, by His Spirit, that I'm telling you the truth, then listen to me. Tomorrow may be too late. Come now, while we sing once more, "Just As I Am." Everyone now. Here's your last call. After this call, it'll be between you and God. I'm willing. Look at this nice big altar call here, sinners repenting. Won't you come and join with them? Come on now, while we sing just once more. All right, sister.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Will wel..... (God bless you,
little boy) pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because ('cause you what) promise I believe,
(I believe You're here, Lord. I believe
You're raised from the dead.)
O Lamb of God I come! I come!
[Brother Branham begins humming.] Come right on. People are coming from the balcony. They may be coming to the altar. I want them to come right on. I'm waiting for you, dear friend. Oh, this little body of yours is not worth very much, but that soul's worth ten thousand worlds. This is healing on a higher level. This is eternal healing.
If a man gets healed here at the platform, he will be sick again if he lives long. But if a man gets saved here, he's got everlasting life and will be raised up in the last day. That's the difference. This is eternal healing. This is temporary healing. But Christ is here proving...
JOHN6:44

69 Now look, has He proved it? First His Word said so; then He come; He moved through the audience, showed signs and wonders that He was alive. Then I made a call, because He told me too. I made an altar call. Last night I didn't. Tonight He told me to do it. When I made the altar call, He said, "There's people to come." I made the altar call. "No man can come to Me, except My Father draws him first."
Is He here? Certainly. "And all that comes to Me, I will give them everlasting life, and will raise them up at the last day. He that heareth My words, and believeth on Him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall never come to the judgment, but is passed from death to life."

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

70 You come because you have been warned of God; you've accepted it. And when you come here, and bow your heads, and surrender to God, and repent of your sins, you are borned again. You're a candidate then to be baptized into the church by the Holy Ghost, into the body of Christ. There's only one baptism; that's Holy Ghost baptism. "By one Spirit we are all baptized into one body."
You become a believer, are borned again when you believe. "He that heareth My words, believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life." Right now. But God baptizes you into the body and puts you into the service by the Holy Ghost. This is what you do for God; that's what God does for you. There's the difference. You repent and accept what God has done; then God gives you the next, which is the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Peter said at the day of Pentecost, "Repent, every one of you, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to them that's far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
This is the same Gospel that Peter preached at the day of Pentecost---same signs, same wonders, same things, same Jesus. Just closing now, so I will be sure I got every one.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

71 The Bible says, "There'll be a day when it will not be light or dark." Did the Bible say that? Right. "But in the evening it shall be light."
Notice, this Bible is a Oriental book. The light geographically rises in the east; it sets in the west. And civilization has traveled from east, westward. We're at the west coast now, where the east and west meets.
Look, when the sun rose in the eastern country, the baptism of the Holy Ghost fell upon the apostles and the Jews. Now, since then, there's been a dismal day. It hasn't been light, neither has it been dark. It's been a gloomy day. Just a day to join church and membership. But the Bible promised in the evening that same sun that shined over there, will shine out in the evening time. Here it is, on the Gentiles. The sun shined in the east; it's shining in the west. It's sun-setting time. The Holy Ghost is here, doing the very same things [Gap in the audio.] here now. It'll be light in the evening time. Hallelujah! Oh, my poor Irish heart is thrilled to know that we are accepted. Praise be to God. This is that.

Zechariah 14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

Zechariah 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

72 I want every minister now to take their place around this altar here, every minister and co-worker, every one make your way. If there be some left, come around. You're now going to see great healing. That's right. Oh, my.
It'll be light in the evening. The same Jesus that worked with the Jews in the east, the same Jesus is alive tonight with the Gentiles in the west. It's evening time. The same Holy Ghost, the same signs, the same wonders, the same scoffers, the same church members scoffing, making fun... "There'll come scoffers in the last days, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, and despisers of those that are good; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." It's evening time. The evening lights are here.

Zechariah 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2 Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

73 Let's every Christian bow your head now. I want to talk to these that's at the altar. God bless you, sister. Go on your road now and be made well in the name of the Lord Jesus. Oh, what a moment. What a moment.
I spoke in His name. He turned around and spoke back that I told the truth. You accepted that on the basis of God's Word. He's here to heal you, heal your soul, make you a Christian. You Indian, you Spanish, you Anglo-Saxon, whoever you are, God is here. God is here.
Little girl, the Lord Jesus is here to make you every whit whole, honey. Little boy, Jesus is here. Grandmother, Jesus is here. Grandfather, Jesus is here. Young man, Jesus is here. Oh, young lady, Jesus is here. He's here. He's accepting you because you've come to Him. Now, we're going to offer prayer. And I want every person to bow your head, everyone to join with us in prayer.

74 O eternal and everlasting God, upon whom the crown of immortality has been set, "This is My beloved Son; hear ye Him." Moses and Elijah and all has passed away. All laws and ceremonies is finished. "This is My beloved Son. Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden," He said, "I will give you rest. He that comes to Me, I will in no wise cast out."
These people, Lord Jesus, as You're here at the platform in this great power, showing Yourself infallible, the resurrected One, the proof... Oh, no excuses. People are left without an excuse. You're here.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Mark 9:7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Luke 9:35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

75 And here stands Spanish, Indian, Anglo-Saxon, Irish, German, all different types of people. As Thou has died to save the world. And Abraham, called the father of nations... Through the seed, by Isaac come Christ; through Christ's death, we become dead to the things of the world and joint-heirs with Him, and are Abraham's seed. And we call those things which are not, as though ... are, as though they were not, because we believe God's Word. With the operation of the Holy Spirit, who could raise a rank sinner from his seat and send him up here to this altar... Something's happened. Something's taken place.
How could a pig ever be told that he's wrong? How could the lamb ever make the pig believe that his diet was wrong? Never could he, until the nature of the pig had been changed. O God, that's what You've done to these people tonight. You've convinced them that they're wrong, and they want their nature changed. And you changed their attitude and brought them to this altar. And here they stand as penitent souls.
Oh, as Your servant, Lord, I call on You in Jesus' name, and ask that every soul here will be saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. Grant it, Lord. Heal every sick person, physically, that's in the building. Get glory out of the service, Lord, just now. In Jesus' name, we wait for this great power to take place.

Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

76 Now, with our heads bowed. Prayer of faith shall save the sick, spiritually, physically, whatever way it is. Now, you people standing here that's praying with the sinner, lay your hand over on them, put your hand over on the sinner friend. Out in the audience... Now, everyone reverently...
I want to know that these who are standing here who come for salvation, that you thoroughly believe that Christ, the Son of God, brought you from your seat to stand here before these people. "No man can come to Me, except My Father draws him." You could not have come on your own power.
You are a dead, motionless person, without something operating you. And do you mean to tell me that the devil would make you raise from your seat and come here? Never. It was some kind of a Spirit come within you that said, "You're wrong. You go up to that altar and confess your sins. I will be there to meet you." That's Him talking to you now.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

77 And as you have bowed your head and confessed your sins, God is just to forgive them. And now, God being so just to forgive you your sins, will you raise your right hand to God and accept Christ as your Saviour now? Now, that's something... God bless you, every person. Everyone has their hands up. Thanks be to God. They now accept Christ.
What did you do when you raised your right hand? You broke every scientific law there is. Gravitation would've held your hand down, but the Spirit that's within you made a choice; and God caused you to raise your hand towards heaven to Him, to accept Him as your Saviour. You are saved by the grace of God. And by doing that you have eternal life.
Do you desire the baptism of the Holy Ghost? If you do, raise up your hand, if you desire the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Right on the same grounds that you're saved on, Jesus sends the Holy Ghost for you. If you will believe.

78 I want the audience to stand to their feet just a moment. Some good voice, have you to pray a prayer. Brother Ballard, Brother Moore, some of you, come here, one of you.
Friends, these are new babies. These people are borned again. They believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as personal Saviour. Their names a few moments ago, went on the book of life. That's God's eternal Word. Do you believe it, say "Amen."
Now, they want the baptism of the Holy Ghost to be coworkers with us together, out here in this great field. I want the people who has the Holy Ghost now, come, laying around close, ministers especially, to lay hands on them. While I'm going to ask Brother Ballard if he will come forth and pray the prayer, and everyone of us together, that these people will receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. All right, Brother Ballard, while we bow our heads.

And then Jesus came (1957-12-13) (William M. Branham Sermons)

And then Jesus came (1957-12-13) (William M. Branham Sermons) somebody

And then Jesus came

1 Let us remain standing, and bow our heads just a moment for prayer. Blessed and eternal God, we come into Thy presence by the way of prayer just now, to offer ourselves a service to Thee. We ask that You would bless us in a special way tonight. And these dear children of Thine that's waiting in this cold room...
And we're mindful of some day when death is going to chill our bodies. And may we tonight, if we're not prepared, may we prepare to meet that hour, that when death comes into our room to take us from this life to the one that is beyond, may we come to it with joy, in faith knowing that we know Him who said, "I am the resurrection and the life."

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

2 Father, if there be such a one here tonight who could not meet this event in that great victorious cry of Saint Paul, "I have fought a good fight and finished the course," may this be their night of preparation. Heal the sick and the needy, Lord. Bless us in these few words, and get glory to Thyself; for we ask it in the name of Thy Son, the Lord Jesus. Amen.
You may be seated. It is a much disappointment to all of us tonight that our furnace has broken down, and without any fire. Therefore I would be cruel to hold you very long. And you're so nice to come out anyhow, and I thank you for this. And I understand from my son, who just told me at the door, that tomorrow the meetings are to be held (I guess you have announced it) in Brooklyn.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

3 But if the good Lord of Heaven being willing, in the month of May we have the entire month for the New England states here for a great service. [The audience applauds]. Thank you. And they're making ready now. And there is a businessman that's on the committee, that's going from church to church, and from place to place, and we want full cooperation from all churches.
No matter what your religious view is, if you believe Jesus Christ to be God's Son and have accepted Him as your Savior, you're my brother and sister. And if God accepted you with your peculiarities and I, with my peculiarities, we should be thankful enough to recognize each other as brothers and sisters, see. And we're all working for one great purpose; that's for His kingdom. And anything different from that would be the wrong motive anyhow.

4 Now, I feel so sorry about this, and I'm sure that Brother Hutchison is embarrassed to shame. But it's something we could not help. It's a matter that has been done here. The building is, perhaps, very old and the furnace likewise. But I will just speak to you a few moments by reading a text out of the Scripture and just being quickly. Then we'll pray for the sick, and worship the Lord, and just get ourselves right into the service now, and worship Him.
Tomorrow afternoon, if the Lord willing, I want to speak on the subject that I had planned for tonight, over at the other place, a subject that I think is timely, more or less for the church in this day. The topic was to be: Hear Ye Him. And tomorrow night, I wish to speak on: A Notable Way To Recognize A Divine Gift. Now, the Lord bless.

5 The reason I wish to read His Word and speak on it: my words is the word of a man; it'll fail, because I'm just a man. But His blessed Word is the Word of God, which cannot fail. So, I wish to read from Saint John the 17th ... or, the... Pardon me, Saint John the 11th chapter, and the first four words of the 17th verse.
And then ... Jesus came.
You say, "Brother Branham, you have a very short text." It doesn't make any difference just how long or big the text is, it's what it is. It's the value. And sometimes we place value on long prayers, and on much drawed out time. But sometimes that is not right.
I was thinking of a little friend of mine not long ago, that I knew; he wasn't a friend of mine, but I knew of the lad. He was searching up in an old garret, upstairs in a building. And he found in an old trunk stored away, a little postage stamp, just about one-half inch square. And on this little postage stamp... He looked at it and he thought, "That's an old stamp." So the little lad with ice cream, sucker, in his mind, rushed down the street to a stamp collector, and said, "Say, how much will you give me for this stamp?"

John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

6 And he looked it over; the stamp collector, knowing it was a valuable stamp, he said, "I will give you one dollar for that stamp." Oh, it was a quick sale. That would get him much ice cream. So, he sold the stamp. The stamp collector sold it for fifty dollars. After that it was sold for five hundred dollars. Later it was sold for a quarter of a million dollars. And it's still on the move.
See, it isn't how big it is, it's the value of it. The little stamp, the little piece of paper, was insignificant; but it was the value of what was wrote on that little stamp, was what made it so valuable. That's the way it is with the Word of God. It is so valuable that every little text, or every little word we can anchor our soul on it, because it's God's immortal Word. And all other things will fail, but God's Word will never fail.

7 It reminds me of a little girl not long ago, in Canada. Some years ago when I was over at Vancouver, the great late King George was visiting Vancouver. And I was noticing the emotions upon my manager, Mr. Baxter, while he was watching the king and the queen as they rode by. And how she in her beautiful garment, and the king, though suffering with multiple sclerosis and also a stomach trouble, he sat correct in his carriage and was speaking and bowing to his subjects ... or, the people, as he passed by.
And Mr. Baxter, he said he stood and wept because the king was passing by. It was the first time he had ever seen him, and it brought emotion to him just that moment, in the little view of the king passing by. I thought, "Oh, what will it be when our King of kings passes by. Just one glimpse of Him in glory when our journey is completed, these little cold nights in the theaters, and disappointments will just vanish like nothing then.

8 The schools turned out to see the king. And the teachers wanted to be patriotic, so they give each child a little flag, a little Canadian or British flag to wave as the king went by. And I like Jesus because that He notices every little thing that we do. You say, "Brother Branham, maybe..."
I seen a man counting the collection. You might not have had but just a few pennies to put in the collection, but Jesus saw it. You might not... You say, "Well, I haven't done very much for Him." But whatever you've done, He saw it.
The woman that put in just a few pennies in the collection, Jesus said she put in more than the rich did, because of her tithing; she put all her living. No matter how little it is, how small and short our service will have to be because of the weather and the condition, Jesus will see our sincerity. And I'm sure He will answer.

Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Matthew 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Luke 21:2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Luke 21:3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

Luke 21:4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

9 As I was speaking of the little girl, that all waved their little flags. There was an incident happen there that's always stuck with my heart. That was: One little fellow, just a little tiny tot, packing her little flag on her shoulder, she went down to wave at the king when he passed by. And when all the crowd had cleared up, the little fellow failed to show up with the rest of the little girls. So, the teacher was alarmed and out on the street she went to find the little girl.
And the little girl was found with her little head leaning against a telegraph pole, weeping. So the teacher said to her, "Why are you weeping, and did you not see the king? Did you not wave your flag?"
She said, "Yes, teacher, I waved my flag just like the rest of them waved."
Said, "Did you not see the king?"
Said, "Yes, teacher, I saw the king."
Well said, "Then why do you weep?"
The little girl replied, and said, "I saw the king, but I was so little, the king didn't see me."

10 But it's so different with Jesus. He sees every little move that you make, and every little kind word that you speak, and every little kind deed that you do. All of them mean much to Him.
These little words here tonight of these four letters that has been read for a text, they could seal your eternal destination---your attitude towards them. So that's what makes them so important. Them little words could set you free from sin tonight. Those little words could condemn you tonight. Those little words could set you free from sickness and suffering tonight, if you will receive them. But they've got to be received.

11 Some years ago during the time of Abraham Lincoln (I believe it was during his time when he was President of the United States.), there was a soldier that had done something wrong. And he was tried in the courts, and was found guilty of the crime, and the judgment was death---the penalty of his crime. There he must stand before a firing squad and be shot.
Someone went to the President and interceded for him. And when he... The President had compassion and just picked up a piece of paper, and said, "Pardoned! President Lincoln." And he rushed quickly to the man and handed it to him, and said, "You are pardoned by the President of the United States."

12 Well, he picked up the little piece of paper and said, "Oh, such a little thing as that pardon me? Why, I won't receive it." And he threw it down.
And the man picked it up again, and came to the soldier, and said, "Sir, though it's a piece of scrap paper off of the President's desk, but his name is on it, and you are pardoned." And he refused to receive it. And the next morning he was shot at sunrise according to the penalty of the deed that he had done---the law on it.
And then here was the President's name signed that this man was pardoned. And the man was killed after the President had signed him free. Then it was tried in the Supreme Courts of our lovely nation. And the Supreme Court's decision was this (And listen to it tonight): A pardon is not a pardon if it isn't received as a pardon. And these words is your pardon if you will receive them as your pardon for your sins, for your sicknesses, or your indifference towards God. It is your written pardon.

13 As it says, "Then Jesus came." That was perhaps, as anyone knows the context of this, that we will not have time to unfold tonight to you, in the cold room. But it was during the time of the death of Lazarus, His friend. Martha and Mary had been His bosom friends. And He was associated with them. And one time Jesus received a vision from the Father, and He... God had told Him to leave the place and go to another place where Lazarus was going to die.
Now, you say, "Brother Branham, that's not written in the Scripture." But in Saint John 5:19, Jesus said, "I do nothing, except my Father shows Me first. I do nothing in Myself. The Son can do nothing, but what He sees the Father doing: that doeth the Son." And if you notice Him, how the great vision: He went away for four days. And they sent for Him to come, that Lazarus was sick.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 11:3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

14 Now, we don't know just what his sickness was, but some historian has said that he died with hemorrhages in his lungs. However, he grew sicker, and the physician, perhaps, could do nothing for him. And then after a bit, he got so sick until he died. And when he died, Jesus said, "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth."
And they said, "Well, if he's asleep, he doeth well." Now see, they don't get, and we don't today many times, what the word of "death" means. Death means "separation." Doesn't mean that you die forever. You're just separated from your friends. You're alive somewhere else.
And notice, the disciples said, "Well, now, if he sleepeth, he doeth well."

John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.

15 Jesus told them in their own understanding, "Lazarus is dead. And for your sake, I'm glad I wasn't there, but I go wake him." Oh, what a marvelous thing. Not, "I'll go and see if I can wake him." "I will go and wake him."
Could you imagine the disappointment in that little family? They had been excommunicated from their church of worship where their fathers had worshipped, because they had accepted Jesus as the Messiah. And here I can hear the mocking scoffs of the unbelievers, saying, "Where is your evangelist, your healer? Oh, when it comes time to His own buddy, He lets him die."

John 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

John 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

16 But we're taught that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord. God is making everything move just according to His great timepiece as it's ticking around.
Then, when the darkest hour that little family had ever seen: Excommunicated from their church, degraded in the societies of their church, their friend that they had put so much confidence in, had failed them, seemingly, and all hopes was gone. Lazarus was dead and buried four days.
Corruption sets in in seventy-two hours---three days. Perhaps his nose had already fallen in on his face. That's the first thing takes place: the nose turns and falls in. And the skin worms had set in into his body. And then it's just at that great strategic moment, when the darkest hour they had ever seen, then Jesus came by. Oh, that's just like Him to do that. He comes in that darkest moment. Jesus came by.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

17 But then again, I'll take just a moment longer to say this, that when Jesus comes by, if He's not accepted then it doesn't do Him any good to pass by your way. But when He is so good to come by and show Himself, then you should be so thankful, that you would receive Him, that you would believe Him.
Now, little Martha had been very much dilatory about spiritual things. Mary was the one who sat and listened at the feet of Jesus. But I think in this passage, Martha showed just exactly what she was made out of. She heard that Jesus come, and she started through the streets to meet Him. Now, seemingly she had a right to upbraid Him, and say, "Why didn't You come when we called You?" But to Martha, it wasn't a question of whether He come, or whether He did not come. The thing was that finally He was there.

John 11:20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

18 And it doesn't make any difference tonight how we've had prayer meetings and what we've done and so forth. He's here. That's the main thing. How many failures we have had and so forth... He's here now. He has come. And it is at our darkest of hour... In the world's history we now live in, we know that for both politics, for religion, and everything seems to be at a chaos at this time. Then Jesus came. Notice this.
Now, when she went to meet Jesus, instead of giving Him a sharp rebuke, she said, when she saw Him... Oh, I just love this. She fell down before Him, and her beautiful face looking up into the face of the Master, she recognized Him quick, as her Lord.

19 You remember last night when I preached on the door in the heart, after the Lord has come into other doors that we must open to Him? And He cannot come in until every door is open, and then He is your Lord. That's what's the matter here in Newark. That's what's the matter in the United States. That's what's the matter with the church the world over.
You will accept Him as Savior, but never as Lord ... seldom. Lord is the ownership, control. He controls your emotions. He controls your faith. He controls your love. He controls your life. He's in full control of you, and you walk in the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ. And the Bible said, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." The Lordship of Christ has controlled you.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

20 When a man smites you on the face, the Lordship controls you. When someone says something evil about you, the Lordship of Christ controls you. When the doctor says, "I am sorry, but my medical skill says to me that you must die, there's nothing more can be done," but the Lordship of Christ controls you by His Word. By His stripes we were healed. The Lordship...
He opens the door and said, "Here I stand at the door. I give you faith over these things." Then you ignore anything else.
You say, "I would be a Christian, but my neighbors would laugh at me." Then Christ takes Lordship of your emotions. "I would testify to my boss, but I am afraid to." Then Christ takes Lordship.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

21 And He had took Lordship in the heart of Martha. And when He did, she fell at His feet and said, "Lord, if Thou would have been here, my brother would not have died." Oh, that's bound to stir His emotion. Remember, he had been dead four days. And everything, darkness and all come, all hopes was gone.
Maybe that same thing exists for people in here, tonight. Maybe your beloved physician, the doctor that's been doctoring you for years, says, "There's nothing else I can do. You must die." Now, what about the Lordship of Christ. He has come, and He's here to help you.
"If Thou would have been here, my brother would not have died." Jesus, a vision by the Father, to go raise Lazarus, yet questioned the woman. "If Thou would have been here, my brother would not have died." Listen at her next quotation. "But even now, whatever You ask God, God will give it to You." Oh, I like that. "Whatever You ask God, God will give it to You." Oh, I'd like to preach awhile on that. Martha had been reading the Bible.

John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

22 That's where people fail to have faith: They don't read the Bible. Martha had read, where that the Shunammite woman when her baby died, everything was well as long as she could get to the prophet. And she stayed with that prophet till she got her heart's desire, because the Shunammite woman recognized that God was in that prophet.
And the prophet tried to give her a handkerchief to lay on, as it was. I think that's where Paul got his idea of laying handkerchiefs on the sick. But he had a staff in his hand, told Gehazi, "Go lay it on the child." But the woman's faith wasn't in the stick; it was in the prophet. She said, "I'm not leaving you."

2 Kings 4:29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

2 Kings 4:30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

23 And then Martha seen the same thing. She said, "If God is in His prophet, surely He's in His Son." Elijah was God's representative in the day of the Shunammite. Jesus was God's representative in the day of Martha. And His church is His representative in this day. His church, the body of believers, is His representative. "He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the church." Oh, the power of the Christian church that lays dormant tonight because of unbelief!
Notice, as they went on, "If Thou would have been here, my brother would not have died. But even now, Lord, what You ask God, God will give it to You."
The doctor might have said, "This is just a few more days for you." "But even now, Lord, whatever You ask God..."

John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Revelation 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

Revelation 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Revelation 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

24 Is He alive? Could you speak to Him? He ever liveth to make intercession at the right hand of His Majesty. He's never asleep. He's not dead, but He has risen again. And He is the same in principle, power, action, moving: yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8. He ever liveth to make intercession. He is the high priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. "Whatever You ask God, God will give it to you."
Sometimes I think of that story of Jonah. And I compare it with people today who look at their symptoms instead of the Word of God. You know Jonah was backslid. That's a big thing for a Baptist to say, but he was backslid, and he was in the belly of the whale down in the bottom of the ocean, and his hands and feet were tied behind him.
And laying in the belly of the whale in the bottom of the ocean, he refused to see the symptoms. Every which way he looked, it was the whale's belly. But he would not look at it. He said, "I refuse, because they are lying vanities. Once more will I look to Your holy temple." You can't hide a believer from his prayer.

Jonah 2:4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

Jonah 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

25 And when Jonah turned over in the belly of the whale, and looked towards the temple, in the best of his knowledge, where that when Solomon dedicated and prayed and said, "If Thy people be in trouble and look towards this holy place, then hear from Heaven." And God honored Jonah's prayer, and kept him alive three days and nights, and provided him oxygen. And he was delivered at the place where God wanted him to go.

1 Kings 8:30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

26 And if God would do that for a man who looked at an earthly temple, built by an earthly man who later backslid and turned to idols, if God would honor that man because he believed in the prayer of Solomon, how much more will He honor your prayer tonight, who don't have to look to your symptom or anything around you, but look at Heaven where He sits in the presence of God with his own blood as an intercessor for your sins, as He intercedes.
"He was wounded for your transgressions, bruised for your iniquity: the chastisement of your peace was upon Him; and with his stripes you were healed." In the presence of the Father, ever alive to make intercession. Think of it.
Then what happened? When this taken place, she said, "If Thou would have been here, my brother had not died. But even now whatever You ask God, God will give it to you."

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

John 11:22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

27 Listen at Him. Watch His emotions. Oh, how He wants to get the hearts tonight like that. "Thy brother shall rise again," He said.
Listen at this beautiful young Hebrew girl. "Yea, Lord, He will rise again in the resurrection in the last day."
Now, there never was a man able to say this before, or since, or never will be, outside of Him. The Bible said, "There was no beauty we should desire Him." Probably a little fellow in stature. He pulled his little shoulders up, and said, "I am the resurrection and life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me, shall never die." That was His eternal promise. And He Himself said, "The Scriptures cannot be broken." What consolation do we have then tonight? When God said something... "Where have you buried Him?"
A lady speaking to me sometime ago, she said, "Rev. Branham, one thing about your preaching: You brag too much on Jesus."
I said, "Lady, I couldn't brag enough on Him."
Well, she said, "You make Him divine, when He was just a prophet."
"Oh," I said, "I beg your pardon. He was divine."

Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

John 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

John 11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

28 He was God. God manifested in flesh. If He was just a prophet, we're all lost. He was neither Jew, nor Gentile. He was God. His blood came from God's own creative power, and created the blood cells. Mary was just a incubator. That was all. The woman produces the egg. The man produces the germ of life. He had no man, male as sexual, but His Heavenly Father created the blood cell so the blood was God's own blood, not by sexual desire.
That's where our blessed hope rests tonight, right there. "My hope is built on nothing less, but Jesus blood and righteousness; when all around my soul gives way, then He's all my hope and stay." Eddie Perronett said, "On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand." What a beautiful thing. "I am." Not, "I will be." "I am now! forevermore the resurrection and life." I'm so glad to know Him as my Savior.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

29 "Where have you buried Him?"
This woman said, "Mr. Branham, if I proved to you by the Bible that He was just a man, will you accept it?"
I said, "If the Bible said so."
She said, "I can prove it." And she used Saint John the 11th chapter. She said, "When Jesus went down to the grave of Lazarus, the Bible said He wept."
I said, "That's right."
She said, "Then that proves if He could weep, He was man."
I said, "He was man, but He was a God-man."

John 11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

30 That's right. I said, "When He went to the grave weeping, He was a man. But when He stood and pulled His little shoulders back and said, 'Lazarus, come forth,' and a man that had been dead four days stood on his feet and lived again, that was more than a man. That was God speaking through a man's lips."
It was true. He was a man when He come down from the city and looked over a tree to find something to eat. He was a man. But when He took two fishes and five little barley loaves and fed five thousand, He was more than a man.
He was a man when virtue'd gone from Him from healing and so forth through the day. When He was on that little ship that night, ten thousand devils of the sea swore they'd drown Him. And that little ship tossed about like a bottle stopper out there like that.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mark 6:41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

Luke 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

31 He was a man when He was asleep. But when He put His foot upon the brail of the boat, looked up and said, "Peace, be still," and the waves and the winds obeyed Him, He was more than a man when He did that. He was God.

Matthew 8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

32 He was a man at the cross when He cried for mercy. He was a man when He died. But on Easter morning when the tomb opened and the seals broke, then death and hell could not hold Him any longer, He come out triumphant. He was more than a man. No wonder He has thrilled the hearts of believers and poets and so forth.
One wrote:
Living He loved me; dying He saved me;
Buried He carried my sins far away;
Rising He justified, freely forever;
Someday He's coming, oh, glorious day!
He's been the theme of the church and of the poets and prophets through the ages.

33 Sometimes in the dark hours, then Jesus comes.
It was the darkest hour that the Hebrew children had ever seen. One morning when the king had heated the furnace seven times hotter than it ever was het, the darkest hour those fellows had ever seen; and then Jesus come riding in on the waves of Heaven, and cooled the breeze from them.
It was the darkest hour, perhaps, the woman with the blood issue had ever seen. She had spent all her living, maybe the mortgage was gone on the farm and so forth, and none of the physicians could heal her. And it was the darkest hour she ever seen, but then Jesus come along. That's right. Just in time.

Daniel 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Luke 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

34 The man who had been carried and laid by the pool of Bethesda, by the waters, and he had been sick for thirty-eight years, no one could help him. And he laid on a pallet, helpless. It was probably his darkest hour. Then Jesus came along and helped him.
It was old blind Bartimaeus who sat outside the walls of Jericho and shivered in the winds, when the cold November winds was a-blowing. He was blind. He was poor. What would he do? It was his darkest hour. Then Jesus came along. That's the way Jesus does.

Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

John 5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.

John 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

35 The disciples, after the death of the Lord Jesus, and they'd walked all day with somebody, not knowing who He was; that was Cleopas and his friend. They got to Emmaus, and they said, "Are You just a stranger, and You don't know that Jesus who we expect to be the King of Israel has died, and He's crucified, and been buried, and this is the third day? Are You just a stranger around here? Don't You know what's happened?"
Then when He got them all in one little building, a little restaurant, and the waitress had taken their order and gone away, and brought back a loaf of bread, then Jesus did something---just did it in a way that no one else could do it, but like that. He ... at last, He revealed Himself, and did it just the way that He did before His crucifixion. Their eyes were opened. Their hearts were made light. It was their darkest hour. Then Jesus come along.
In this hour that we're living, this great chaos that we're in now, it's the darkest hour that the world has ever seen. Where is the hope? Sputnik's in the skies, atomic bombs, controlled missiles. War! Any little nation can destroy the world. War! What would...?

Luke 24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

Luke 24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

Luke 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

36 If we had a president like we got now: Dwight Eisenhower, the President of the United States, a wonderful man... Oh, if we had one in every county, we could not be secured. If we had bomb shelters all under these places and everything, we're still not secured. There's only one safe place, that's in Christ, the Son of the living God. He is the bomb shelter. Under His wings we will abide. We will rest safely.
Maybe some of you here has met your darkest hour. Maybe today the doctors told you there was no hope. But there is a hope. Jesus has come in this dark hour. He's come to His church. He's revealing Himself and doing things just like He done on earth when He was here before His crucifixion, to fulfill His Word.

37 When He was here on earth, He didn't claim to be a healer. He said, "It's not Me that doeth the works, it's My Father that dwelleth in Me." The same Father that was in Him, is in you. "I will give unto them eternal life." And anyone knows that that word "eternal" come from the Greek word "zoe," and zoe is "part of God's own life that's in you."
Everything that has a beginning, has an end. Your mortal life had a beginning; it has an end. The earth had a beginning; it has an end. But it's the things that had no beginning, has no end. And there's only one thing that had no beginning or end, and that's God. And you become a son and a daughter of Him, a partaker of His Majesty. That's eternal life, and can no more perish than God can perish.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

38 Oh, there I rest my faith, right there. Let the bombs, or whatever... We go to dust, I'll go to Heaven. That's all. Sure, there's our hope and faith. What did He do? Did He go around healing the people? Yes. How? As the Father showed Him. When Philip found Nathanael and brought him to Him, He said, "Behold, an Israelite in whom there is no guile."
He said, "How did You know me, Rabbi?"
He said, "Before Philip called you when you were under the tree, I saw you."

John 1:47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

John 1:48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

39 The unbelieving Pharisee said, "He's Beelzebub. That's a spirit of fortune-telling in Him."
Jesus said, "Speak that against Me, I'll forgive you. But when the Holy Ghost is come to do the same thing, a word against it will never be forgiven." Then look at the blasphemy in the nations tonight. What do they call it? A polished up soothsayer. Some Beelzebub, fortuneteller. There's nothing left but divine judgment.
If you spurn mercy, there's nothing but judgment left for you. That is true. Do not be deceived. Watch your day that you're living in. See what Christ has said. He promised these things to His church.

Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Mark 3:22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

Luke 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.

Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

40 When a woman at the well, when He looked at her, the Father give Him a vision to go up from Jericho, and on His road He had to go by Samaria. He sent His disciples away. No one knew what for.
A lady come out ... or, a woman, we might say, because in this nation we believe that she was a woman of ill fame. And she was drawing the water, and He said, "Bring Me a drink, woman."
She said, "It's not customary for You Samaritans to ask ... or, You Jews to ask Samaritans such."
He said, "But if you knew who you were talking to... (Oh, brother, sister, if you only knew who I'm talking about, see.)

John 4:7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

John 4:8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

John 4:9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

John 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

41 If you only knew who you were talking to, you would ask Me for a drink. And I will give you waters that you don't come here to draw."
"Why," she said, "the well is deep."
The conversation went on about worshipping in a mountain. Then Jesus found where her trouble was, and He said, "Go get your husband and come here."
She said, "I don't have any husband."
"Why," He said, "that's right. You don't have any husband because you've had five, and the one that you're living with now is not your husband."

John 4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

John 4:16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

John 4:17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

John 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

42 There was the secret of her heart revealed. Now, listen to what this Samaritan woman said. She said, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet." How much different she was from the scholarly Jew, the Pharisee who should've knowed better.
The Pharisee said, "He's Beelzebub. He's a fortuneteller. Some demon spirit is on Him. That's how He..."
But they couldn't figure out: It always happened just the way He said it. So men try to figure out anything, you can't do it. You don't know God by mathematics. Neither do you know Him by science. You know God by faith, and faith alone do you know Him. By His foreknowledge He has elected you to eternal life. "No man can come to Me, except My Father draws him." That's right. And if you can see it and know that God is with you, how happy you should be, each of you.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

43 Now, let us notice as the conversation went on for a few moments. She said, "I perceive that You are a prophet. We know ---we Samaritans---we know that when the Messiah cometh that's called Christ, He will do those things. He'll tell us them kind of things."
Now, that's the sign of the Messiah. The Jew recognized it. Philip went and got Nathanael, and Nathanael didn't want to believe it at first. He said, "Now, could there be any good thing come out of Nazareth?"
He said, "Come and see." That's the best way to be convinced is: come see for yourself. Come and find out. Search it with the Scriptures.

John 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

44 Jesus said, "Search the Scripture, for they are they that testify of Me." Search the Scriptures. And when Nathanael came and brought him, and He performed the miracle by telling him where he was before he came to the meeting, why, he recognized. He said, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God, the King of Israel."
The Samaritan woman said, "We know ... I know that You're a prophet. You must be a prophet otherwise, but we know that when the Messiah cometh that's called Christ, He will tell us these things. But I don't know who You are."
Listen at Him. "I am He that speaks with you."
And she dropped that old water pot, and in the city she went to testify. "Come, see a man who told me the secrets of my heart. Isn't this the very Messiah?"

John 1:48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

John 1:49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

John 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

45 At His leaving He said this, "The works that I do shall you do also. Greater works than this shall you do." And the word greater, anyone knows, means "more." You couldn't do any greater in quality, just in quantity, because He was there in one person. God was represented in one person. Now He's represented in the universal church everywhere. "More than this shall you do, for I go unto My Father. Yet a little while and the world will see Me no more." The world... Cosmos there means that it's the world's order. "The world will see Me no more, yet you shall see Me, for I (a personal pronoun), I will be with you, even in you to the end of the world."

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

46 The last days we're living. The great teachers and things... Someone asked me not long ago, "Has the teachers been wrong?"
I said, "As an illiterate person, I wouldn't want to say that scholars are wrong. What they taught was well, but they just didn't go far enough." It's yielding yourself to the Holy Spirit, not to create a bunch of fanaticism, but to create a solid Gospel that rests right here on God's eternal Word. And God is obligated to back up His Word.
Sorry to keep you this long. Let us bow our heads just a moment. And with your heads bowed, I wonder if there would be a person here tonight, that may be facing your darkest hour, and you'd say, "O Lord Jesus, be merciful to me, a sinner. I do not wish to die and go into torment. And I know if I die in the state I'm in tonight, torment is my doom. I have no assurance."

47 Before daylight they may send for the doctor, and he walk out of the room, say, "It's a heart attack. There's nothing can be done." And you'll be gone. You may go on the street before you leave here. You may go in the building here before the service is closed. And you'd want to be remembered in prayer. Would you just raise your hands to Christ and say, "Brother Branham, pray for me." God bless you, lady. God bless you, and you. Just the hands around. That's wonderful.
Now, Heavenly Father, to be obedient as a servant of Yours, I commend these to You.
Someone would say, "Why did you just ask them to raise their hand?"

Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

48 O Father, we realize that they defy the laws of gravitation. When according to the laws of gravitation you were supposed to lay in the grave. But the Word of God said, "I will not leave My holy One see corruption, and I won't let His soul be in hell." And the laws of gravitation was broken, and He was lifted up into glory.
Inside of these people, their mortal arms should hand down according to the laws and statistics of science, but there's a spirit in them that realizes that they're wrong. Oh, some twenty or thirty in this building tonight has raised up their hand to their Creator, because inside them is something that says, "You're wrong. Accept Me." And it defied the laws of gravitation; put their hands towards the Creator.

49 Father, receive them. If from their hearts they meant that, they are your children from this hour on. Grant, Lord, that they'll be baptized with water, and find a good Christian church somewhere, and serve You till death shall set them free.
And now, Father, I commit them to Thee. They are love gifts that You give to the Son, for they're tokens of the grace of Christ. And I pray that You'll be with them.
Now, as the sick and the afflicted are here, I pray, God, that You'll help tonight as we pray for them. In this great dark hour may every eye be anointed with eye salve. May their eyes come open and they realize like those from Emmaus. And as this little group goes from this cold little church tonight, like those who went from the cold tomb, over on their road to Emmaus, may they return home like they did, rejoicing, saying, "Did not our hearts burn within us as He talked to us along the road?"
Now, Lord, the only way that can be done tonight, is not by this poor message, I'm sure, but Lord, if You will just manifest Yourself, and do the things here, tonight that You did before Your crucifixion, they'll know that the Scriptures are true: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

50 Now, as Your servants we commit ourselves to Thee as a little group of sheep that's strayed in this little pen tonight. And now, Lord, manifest Your love and presence, for Thou has promised that wherever two or more would gather, "I will be in their midst." Grant it, Father, we ask in Jesus' name, Thy beloved Son. Amen.
[A brother says, "We have very good news, and that is that we will be in Newark, New Jersey, USA, tomorrow afternoon."] Thank the Lord. ["We have, by God's wonderful grace, secured the community center with a brand new heating plant, and twelve hundred comfortable seats, and we will be there. It's just four blocks from here at 652 High Street. And we will be there tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock. And, okay, that's all right." Congregation laughs.]

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

51 [The brother continues: "I noticed when we said we should be in Brooklyn tomorrow afternoon that many of you were not too happy. But my God has opened up the way, and Rev. Branham will be here and minister. We'll have plenty of time. We will have it warm and nice and comfortable, and it's only four blocks from here. You can announce it, let your friends know. We'll have people here so those that come here for the meeting, they will be shown over there, and everything will work out just wonderful. Remember that now, that's High Street 652, the community center with twelve hundred comfortable seats. I think, by the way, it's a lovely gathering tonight, wonderful gathering, and we are just sorry that you may not have been one hundred percent comfortable. I feel fine. I must confess that. Praise the Lord. Amen."]

52 I do think that that is a blessing from God. Let us just bow our heads just a moment. Now, the Almighty God who can rule circumstances, that could stop the waves on a mighty sea, it must be that You're intending for another service to be here, for Thou has overruled the enemy, our enemy, and has given us this place. We thank Thee for this, and for putting on the hearts of the men, or whoever has done this. We thank Thee, Father, for it. And may we worship Thee tomorrow afternoon in great joy; in Jesus' name. Amen.
If I could tonight, I would wish that everyone would be sure to understand this: I am not a divine healer, and neither do I believe that there is anyone a divine healer. I believe that the divine healer is Almighty God. I believe that the purchase of your healing was did by Jesus Christ when He died at Calvary.

53 The blood from His wounds and from His stripes flowed parallel with each other. "He was wounded for our transgressions; with His stripes you were healed." It is a finished work that God has did. I know, lovely friends, that it is been much said that should not have been said. That's right. And many things has been claimed which should not have been done.
Course that's... We just expect that, you see. But there has to be the... If there isn't a bogus dollar, then there isn't a true one. So, we have to have that. And we know that lots have been said about ... just like touching a totem pole or something like that. That's isn't that. There's no healing power in any man. The healing power is in your faith in the Son of God's finished work at Calvary. That's just as plain as I know the Gospel.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

54 Now, first it comes... Faith cometh by hearing, hearing the Word of God. Now, that would settle it if it would be you or I, but not with the Lord. He's so good till He sends gifts in the church. First apostles, which means "missionary." Missionary and apostle is the same word, one thing. Apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors; they're all for the perfecting of the church. Is that right? All these things are for that purpose. Now, God has given this.
And then in every local group, He's put nine different spiritual gifts to keep that church in order while we're waiting for His coming. Now, tonight, my claims are this that Jesus is not dead. He is alive.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Corinthians 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

1 Corinthians 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

55 In Bombay, India; South Africa, where our blessed Lord ... I seen thirty thousand raw heathens come to Christ at one time---at Durban, South Africa, where I'm to return again right away. It would be... I would no way try to estimate at Bombay, India, when they seen our blessed Lord do the same things that He did when He was here on earth.
The Hindus, the Mohammedans by the thousands accepted Christ as personal Savior when we challenged it to a showdown. And the mayor of Durban sat on ... or, the mayor of Bombay sitting on the platform when a total blind man received his sight, and run and grabbed him, and hugged him like that. Thousands times thousands that you could see just as far as floodlights would let you see, accepting the Lord Jesus.

56 You know, friends, Jesus never said, "Go into all the world and build churches." They're all right. He never said, "Go, build schools." They're all right. But where we failed, He said, "Preach the Gospel." The Gospel isn't building churches or schools---though they're fine---but the Gospel come not in word only but through power and demonstrations of the Holy Spirit, is the Gospel. It's a living Gospel, not enchanting words, but a living faith in the Lord God, who is alive forevermore among us.
Now, if He is alive as the Bible says He is, and He made a promise that He was the same yesterday, today, and forever, the things that He did, we would do, also. Now, to me, that's the truth, or it isn't the truth. Now, if it is the truth, my life lays with it. If it isn't the truth, then I want nothing to do with it. That way we should think about those things. And tonight solemnly think that.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

57 The way we do, we give out prayer cards just a few minutes before the services start. Bring a bunch of prayer cards and mix them all up together and give anybody a prayer card that wants them. From there we start somewhere along, a hundred, or whatever they give out, call a few people to the platform until the church gets anointed with the Holy Spirit, that makes you know that Christ is present. Then they begin to look, and as they look, they draw from Him.
Now, look. Are you cold, real cold? Could you wait just a minute longer? All right. Let me try... There's no way to explain it. It's unexplainable. You can't explain God. But let's just imagine like this just a moment. Say we're all little boys and girls standing around a great big circus, where a circus is, and we haven't got the money to go in. And the Lord just made me a little taller than these man here, and made them a little stronger than I. God makes some of us the body of Christ, some of preachers, and pastors, and teachers, and seers, and so forth. That all goes into the church.

58 Well, now, maybe I'm tall enough I can look up on with my hands, and pull up, and look through the knothole and see something on the inside, and you say, "What did you see?"
I say, "A giraffe."
"What else did you see?" I have to raise up again.
Now, if the ring master wanted me to know what was on the inside, he'd just pick me up and raise me up and say, "See what it's all about?" Sets me down. Now, when I'm pulling myself up as it was, it makes me weak, but if the ring master raises me up, I'm in his strength. Then it doesn't bother me.
Now, I said that so that you could follow it real close. When our Lord was here... Now, we know that He's here tonight, but the Spirit that we have tonight is just a little portion of His Spirit, see. Now, in Him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He had the Spirit without measure. We have it by measure.

John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

59 Now, say if I took a spoonful of water out of the Atlantic out here, you'd never miss it. But the same chemicals that's in that spoonful, the whole Atlantic has the same kind of chemicals. And if the Spirit of God is in His church, it'll do the very same thing that He did. It has got to.
Now, when He went (on our subject tonight) to Lazarus, He never heard Him say anything. He was just rejoicing with them because God had performed a miracle. God picked Him up, and showed Him what was going to happen, sent Him over there. He stayed the four days, come back, raised Lazarus, and done it...
Look at Him. You say, "He raised Lazarus?" Sure, at the grave.
Look at Him at the grave. He said, "Father, I thank Thee that Thou has already heard Me, but for these that stand by, I said it," see. Father had already showed Him what to do. He said so.

John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

John 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

60 Now, notice again. When the woman with the blood issue, He had no vision of her, and she come by with her own faith, and touched Him for she knew He was the Son of God, and she touched Him, and He said, "Who touched me?"
Why, they said... Peter rebuked Him and said, "Lord, why everyone's touching You."
He said, "But I perceive that virtue has gone from Me---strength. I got weak."

Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mark 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Luke 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

61 And He looked around till He found the little woman, and He said, "Your blood issue is finished now. Your faith done it. Your faith did it. Not My faith, your faith did it. Thy faith has saved thee." And watch the word "saved" there, just the same as it is if you're saved physically or spiritually. "Thy faith has saved thee."
Now, tonight the Lord Jesus comes, and He shows visions (as my brethren know) that foretells things. Oh, my! There could be an encyclopedia wrote of it, of what He... And not one time has it ever failed anywhere. Ask anyone. Not one time.
His great Being come down and permitted His picture to be taken with us here, which is here in Washington, DC, by the FBI, George J. Lacy, head of the fingerprint and document---in Houston, Texas where it was taken. You've seen in the meetings the pillar of fire that led the children of Israel, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

62 "I come from leading the children of Israel in the pillar of fire, from God, I go back the same way." Met Paul on the road down to Damascus, a pillar of fire. None of them seen it but Paul, but it put his eyes out, see. He was blind for a season. Here He is tonight, just the same Lord Jesus, doing the very same things.
Now, you say, "But, Brother Branham, if I had an infirmity, if Jesus was here I'd go touch Him. Well, Brother Branham, can I touch you?" That wouldn't do a bit of good, not a bit of good. Touch your husband, or your brother or somebody sitting there, do just as well. Touch the seat. As our good friend Brother Roberts used to say, "Touch your seat, or your radio, or something." Point of contact.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

63 But take Jesus as your point of contact, brother, see. Bring Him to you. You say, "But, Brother Branham, if He was just here, I'd touch Him." The New Testament in the book of Hebrews said that He is now a high priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. You can touch Him right where you are. "How will I know it?" Just like it was then. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Look up and touch Him. Watch Him turn back around and tell you just what you had need of.
Now, if He doesn't do that, then (the Word's still right) I'm a false prophet, I'm a false teacher. But I am teaching the Word. And the Word is right. The Word is right. I make all kinds of mistakes, but the Word is never wrong. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

64 Now, I just want to pray, and you pray with me, for every sick person. I wished I had the power to come, make each of you well. I don't have it. Your doctors, they do what they can do. That's very fine, but they can't heal. There never was a medicine ever healed, never an operation. Nothing ever healed but God. Never was a hospital ever healed a patient. Ask any doctor.
They can set a bone, take out an obstruction, pull a tooth; but who heals? They set the bone, but who heals? Certainly. Psalms 103:3 said, "I'm the Lord who heals all of thy diseases." Medicine will not create cells. If it could create cells, then it could make a man. But God's the only Creator. Satan can't create. He just perverts what God has created. One healer: God. Let us talk to Him now for your...

Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

65 Most holy Father, Creator of heavens and earth, Author of everlasting life, and Giver of every good gift, we humbly bow in Your presence, and turn our face to the dust from which you've taken us. And someday, if Thy beloved Son tarries, we shall return to the dust from where we come. But the soul that is within us come from the great Spirit of God who is eternal.
And we thank Thee for this glorious hope that we have. We have been promised by His great blessed Word... He said when He was here on earth, "Ask My Father anything in My name, I will do it." Lord God Jehovah, we come in the name of Thy Son, Jesus. And we ask Thee to confirm Thy own Word tonight, make it known that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Forgive us of our stupid ways, our sins. Take all of our transgressions away, Lord. Hide them under Thy blood. We plead for each other. And we know that in this little building tonight---it's not a very good place, we would say, to come---but You'll come to the humblest home there is. You'd go right into the midst of prisons, and into the barnyards, or pigpens to save a man. You're so good. We love you so much.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

66 Lord, be near us now. Reveal Yourself to us, and do those things that You did when You were here on earth. Honor the faith of this people who's sat through this long drawed-out message tonight, in this cold room. Reward them by healing their bodies, taking away their sickness. You forgave their sins---that raised their hands a few moments ago. And now, get glory to Thyself. For humbly we ask this for the glory of God.
And now, Lord, from here out is Yours. I've done the best that I know how. Anoint us now, Lord. Anoint them to believe. Anoint me to believe. And speak through us, and by us, for we ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.
[Someone speaks in tongues.] How grateful we are for the Spirit of God. How wonderful He works in our midst, and to that, we give praise and glory for all of His marvelous works. [A sister gives an interpretation.]

67 Thanks be to the Lord. Father, we're so much grateful and thankful to Thee. Grant that this will be a time of rejoicing like never before. Give to the people that which is desired in their heart. Amen.
Now, if I understand the Scriptures right, I believe that there is gifts that comes into the church that the Holy Spirit speaks and pronounces to His people the things that He wants to do. And therefore, the people who spoke was just in order after I'd got through speaking. And now the message is to the people that He has already did the blessing for you. It's for you to receive it.
Now, may you do it reverently while we call the prayer line. And let's see: Where did it...? L? L's 1 to a 100. 1 to 50. Let's just start, being that at the meetings just now. And who has L number 1, prayer card 1, L number 1? Would you just raise your hand so we can see if we got them right. All right. Number 1. Would you come right here, lady?

68 Number 2. Now, look at your neighbor's card, because it might be that they can't... Number 2, would you raise your hand if you can? All right. Number 2, lady, would you come here? Number 3, would you raise your hand? L number 3. The lady back here.
Number 4. Number 4, would you raise your hand please? Number 4, this lady here. Would you come right here in line? Number 5, would you raise your hand please right away? If I could see number 5: The gentleman here, would you come? Number 6, would you...
[Gap in the audio.] ... for time, and it's getting late. Now, we want to get away. Now, first thing, I want to say "Thank you" for your loyalty of waiting. God rewarded us now and give us a nice warm place for tomorrow afternoon. God be with you.
In the morning go to your church somewhere, wherever they're having service. Greet your pastors and invite them out for tomorrow afternoon, too. We'd be glad to have them.

69 Now, here's the showdown time. Here's a lady. I suppose we're strangers to each other, are we? We are strangers. I've never seen the lady in my life, and she's never seen me, as I know of, unless it was in a meeting somewhere. Have you ever seen... Never seen me no way. This is the first time we've ever seen each other any time in life. And that is true.
Then the lady standing here, she's up here for some cause. I do not know. God knows that. She may be sick. I don't know. She looks like a healthy woman. I couldn't say. I don't know. She may be in financial troubles. It may be domestic troubles. I don't know. She's wanting something from God, surely, or she wouldn't be standing here. If she isn't, God knows all about it anyhow.

70 She might be here as a critic. If she is, watch what happens, see. Now, we don't know. She's just a woman. Some of the boys, Billy, or Gene, or Leo, or ever who give out the prayer cards a while ago, just give her a card and that's... She was just called up here. That's all we know. Is that right, lady? That's all we know; this here.
Now, if I had power to heal the woman if she's sick, I'd do it. But I haven't the power. But if Jesus was standing here, wearing this suit of clothes that I have on, neither could He heal her. Did you know that? How many knows that? Kind of hard for you to raise your hands when it's the truth. Why? He's already done it. He did it when He died at Calvary. How many knows that? Sure. Sure.
Then what would He do? He would do something to make her know that it was Him. He'd say something maybe like this, "Child of Mine...", if she is a Christian. That I don't know. But if she is, He'd say, "Child of Mine, don't you believe that I died for this purpose?"
"Yes, Lord, I believe. Well, why would ask me that?"

71 But He might say, "Well, now, there's something in your life that oughtn't to be, or there's something that you have done, or haven't done," or something that way, that would cause her to know that Jesus was present. Is that right? Is that what He done in the days gone by?
Here ... here's to the newcomer. Here's a picture tonight, just like it was in the Bible time. Here's a man and a woman. Saint John 4. Everything that I try to do, the best of my knowledge, I place it in the Bible. If it's not in the Bible... Well, it might be God anyhow, but I just like to do just what He says to do, you see, and then I'm sure. God can do things that's not wrote in the Bible, but I like to stay just with the Bible. Then I know it's right.
In the old Bible they had a... How many knowed how they tested a prophet, or a message, or a dream? It was said and told before the Urim Thummim. How many ever heard that? Let's see your hand. The Urim Thummim was Aar... The ministers raising their hands, of course. It was Aaron's breastplate. And always God has worked in supernatural.

Exodus 28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.

Numbers 27:21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.

72 And when the prophet went to speaking or the dreamer telling his dream, if it was of the Lord, a conglomeration of lights went to work, a supernatural light worked on that Urim Thummim. Then it was God. It was true. But if it didn't work, no matter how well it seemed to be, it wasn't true. God refused it.
Now, that Aaronic priesthood ceased, but we have a new priesthood today. That Urim Thummim ceased, but we have a new Urim Thummim. And that's God's Word. What we do, or say, if it doesn't flash in the Word, I'd leave it alone. But it must come from the Word.
Now, this scene like Saint John 4, a man and a woman, which here we are before God, this pulpit, the Bible, that neither have ever seen each other in life. We're totally strangers. Now, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and will do the things that He did... Said, "I do nothing till the Father shows Me first." We all are aware of that? Saint John 5:19.

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

73 Now, if Jesus will come and just take this body, my voice... Now, remember Jesus is in every way like He was, only a corporal body. Do you understand that? What are we? He is the vine, and we are the branches now. The vine doesn't bear fruit. The branches bears fruit, but the energy has to come from the vine. The vine has to send forth the power to bear the fruit.
Now, if He is risen from the dead, which we know He is, and then if God sent me to do this... I'm not a preacher, as a preacher. I don't have the education to be a preacher. But if by a gift, if He lets me see a vision, and say to this woman (just like the woman at the well), and will reveal to me something that's in your heart that you're wanting, would you believe it was Him? You know it'd have to come from some supernatural resource. How many knows it would be a supernatural resource?

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

74 Now, if you believe that, then it depends on what you think it is. If you'd say, "Oh, well, he's a mind reader." Well, that's your reward you'd receive. But, of course, there you'd... I wouldn't say it in that way. It might be terrible because that would be the same as they did: blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, see, which is unpardonable.
Now, that's what they blaspheme when they call the works that He was doing, Beelzebub. How many knows that? And Jesus said it would never be forgiven, see, to call the working of God by the Holy Ghost, Beelzebub or some evil spirit, see.
Now, if the Lord Jesus will reveal it... I don't say that He will. But if He will, you'll believe? Will the audience believe if... Does anyone know the woman out there? I suppose you do; yes, plenty of you. All right. Now, if I said, "Lady, you're sick and you're going to be well," you'd have a right to doubt that, unless you just depend on how much you believe my word.

Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:

Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

75 But if the Holy Spirit will go back like He did to Philip, or like He did to the woman at the well, and tell her something that she has done, you know whether that's true or not. You'll know that. Then if He knows what has been, He surely will know what will be. You understand?
You say, "Brother Branham, are you stalling for something?" Yes, I am. I'm waiting for the Angel of the Lord, the anointing. It hasn't struck me yet exactly. That's right. That's the reason I keep talking to her. Our Lord kept talking to the woman.
But now, the woman is aware now that there's something taking place. If my audience can still hear my voice, right over the woman is a light. Lady, you're aware that a real sweet humble feeling has just come over you. If that's right, raise up your hands. Between you and I, I see that light.

76 And the lady is very, very sick and shadowed with death. She's suffering with a tremendous nervous condition, a cancer of the nerves. And she has tumor on the brain. That is true. That is true, isn't it, lady? Wave your hand so the people will know.
Now I see... I never seen her. And right now, I don't know what I said to her. Now, you heard a voice. That wasn't me. That was Him, see. That was Him. Because I don't know what to say to her. Now, that the audience might know. See, more you would talk to her, more would be... We just got a few standing here. Let's talk to the woman a little.
Just to speak to you because that the more I would say to you, of course, more ... and, of course, weaker you would get. Visions make weakness. Do you remember the great prophet Daniel saw one vision and was troubled at his head for many days, see? Jesus was touched by a woman's infirmity, and said virtue went from Him.

Daniel 7:15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

77 But why then, would He let me stand and have even more in one night than we have record of Him doing in the Bible? Because He made a promise: "More than this shall you do." The same thing, but more of it, see. Me, a sinner saved by grace, and Him, the Son of Jehovah, but He made a promise. His words are true. "More than this shall you do, for I go to My Father."

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

78 Yes, lady, I just wanted to see. Yeah, I see the woman, if the audience can still hear my voice; I don't know how loud I'm speaking now because the lady goes away from me, and she's overshadowed with death. That's true. By a hideous black shadow which is cancer.
And, also, she is concerned about someone else that she is praying for. And that is her husband that's here in this building. I feel his spirit moving. And her husband has tremendous pains in his back, and he's having some kind of a heart condition, a condition around his heart.
And I see you both somewhere. You're in some sort of a meeting, or doing something. There's a... You're raising your hand to a... You are in some kind of a great meeting, hasn't been too long ago. And you raised your hand to be converted. And that was in a city called Triton, Trenton. Trenton, it is Trenton, New Jersey, and it was Oral Roberts meetings. That's "Thus saith the Lord." Do you believe? The Lord Jesus Christ is present. It may be your darkest hour, but Jesus has come along. Let us pray.
Most gracious Lord, I lay my hands upon this woman because Thou has said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel. These signs shall follow them that believe; if they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Lord, You keep all Your promises, and I pray that our sister be made well, and the spirit of evil---sickness---be cast from her, and the desires of her heart given unto her; for I humbly ask it in Jesus' name which cannot fail. Amen. God bless you, my sister. God's peace rest upon you now. Go, don't doubt nothing. You'll be well. God bless you.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

79 How do you do, lady? You're a stranger to me in a way, that I don't know you, but yet you seem familiar. Just a minute. Oh, you have been in the meeting, and you were healed of a bowel condition. And you're here for someone else now. And that is a woman that's been burned with... And you're a nurse. I see you in a hospital---nurse. And the woman is burned severely, and you're standing in her behalf. And I hear you call her name "Bessie." That is right. Now, the God that healed you will heal her, too.
Father, in the name of Thy beloved Son, the Lord Jesus, show mercy to this woman's request and may it come to pass that the things that she desires shall be given to her. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, God's Son, who said, "Ask in My name, it shall be given." Amen. The Lord grant your request, my beloved sister. God be with you, sister, and grant to you...

80 Do you have a prayer card? You don't? All right, sir. You give it to someone else. All right. If you'll keep believing... You want God to heal you of that nervous condition you have. That's right. If you'll keep believing, you can have it. You touched Him.
I'm a stranger to you, lady. And here's a beautiful setting of the Scriptures. Here's a woman, a colored woman; me, a white man. Then I come from the Anglo-Saxon, she came from Ethiopia. It was the same picture of Saint John 4, a Samaritan and a Jew.

81 And the question was: there was a segregation in those days like there has been in the South for years, but Jesus let them know that there was no difference in the color of a person's skin. That's right. They're all children of God. Just the country we was raised in, has nothing to do with our relationship with God. But it's the same picture.
Now, lady, we've never met in life before. This is our first time of ever meeting. If that's right, would you just raise your hands with me? It's our first time meeting. Now, if our Lord Jesus... When a Jew... He met a Jew and told him where he was---under a tree---said He saw him. That was thirty miles around the mountain. Some eyes! But He said, "I saw you when you were under the tree." And he recognized that miracle to be only of God.
And he said, "You are the Son of God, the King of Israel."

82 The Samaritan woman, when He told her (a woman of a different race from He was), He told her what her trouble was, she quickly recognized that it was the sign of the Messiah. And if He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, between the races then that He went to deal with, isn't He the same today? If He manifested Himself in that way, to prove He was Messiah to them, isn't He obligated to us in this day, to manifest Himself in the same way? If He's the same, He will manifest Himself the same. Does the audience believe that? May He grant it.
The lady is not here for herself. She's here for someone else. That's a brother. I see you coming up together. And that brother is in a horrible condition right now. He's an alcoholic. He's laying drunk, and he was so drunk you couldn't sober him up enough to bring him to the meeting. That's "Thus saith the Lord." Do you believe? Let us pray.
O Jehovah God, grant the request of this sincere woman who stands here. Let Thy Spirit come to her and give unto her the assurance, in her heart, that she has what she asked for. Grant it, Lord. We bless her as laying hands upon her, in the name of Thy Son, the Lord Jesus, may she go, and what she's asked, may she receive through Jesus Christ. Amen. Don't doubt one bit. You shall have what you asked for.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

83 We are strangers to each other. The Lord knows both of us. But if our blessed Savior will reveal to me what you're here for, will you believe on Him, and accept Him, knowing that He will give to you what you're asking? Let's say, what you want in your heart, you pray, and ask God. And now, just be in your heart praying to God, and He will, I'm sure He will grant it to you, lady.
Now, if the lady, and the people in the church can still hear my voice, the lady is suffering from a female disorder, a lady's trouble. That is right. This was caused by a birth of a child. The little fellow is at home, and he has got something wrong. The baby has got something wrong with it. It's all swelled up. [The lady says, "Yes."] It's got... It's jaws are all swelled up, ["Yes."] and it's got something in the head, trouble in it's head. That is "Thus saith the Lord." ["Yes."]
You be the judge. Those words are true. ["Yes."] God still lives who made the promise by His Bible, "Ask and you shall receive." And O great Jehovah, who cannot fail, I bless this Thy child in Jesus' name, Thy Son. And may she receive that what she has come for. May she find it even so, for we send her to her home in Jesus Christ's name to be healed. Amen. The prayer of faith shall save the sick; God shall raise them up.

John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

84 Be just as reverent. I know it's getting cold. It's cold here. But let's just try to get another one or two. How about in the audience, are you believing? Just believe, touch His garment, say, "Lord Jesus, I believe You. I believe that the Bible is right. And I believe that You have raised from the dead."
You say, "Brother Branham, these things ought to be before the whole world." I know it. But they'll not know it until we're gone. They never did know it through the ages. Even the disciples didn't know it. They said, "Must Elias come first?"
Said, "He's already come, and you didn't know him." Believe.

Matthew 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?

Matthew 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Mark 9:11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?

85 Do you believe she'd get well if I'd ask the Lord for you ... your friend that's got diabetes? Do you believe it? You got a handkerchief you want me to pray over, haven't you? The woman has one leg amputated. That's right. "Thus saith the Lord." Bring me your handkerchief. You brought it for that purpose. Take it from your purse and bring it to me. Have faith.
Bring it right here, just right here. (The lady says, "I had a note with the same thing written right there for you."] I knew it, lady, by the revelation of Jesus Christ. You touched Something, didn't you, lady? You seen you wasn't going to get into the prayer line, but you were praying. I seen your prayer. Now not me... It's Something, it's the Holy Spirit. I'm only talking to you as He would talk to me. Now, let us pray.
Now, Heavenly Father, in the Bible we are taught that they taken from the body of St. Paul, handkerchiefs and aprons, because the people seen the Spirit of God working in this man, and they had faith to believe their apostle. And they sent these handkerchiefs to the sick and afflicted, and the Bible says that evil spirits went out of them, and diseases were healed.

Acts 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

86 Now, we realize that we're not St. Paul, but we know that You're still Jesus, the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we're taught that when the Red Sea had the children of Israel cut off from the promised land, that God looked down through the pillar of fire, and the sea got scared, and moved back, and made a dry path for Israel to cross on towards the promise.
Tonight, Lord, when this handkerchief is placed upon the sick body of this one, so desiring to be healed, I pray that God will look through the blood of His Son. And may the woman pass from sickness into the promise of good health, and be made well, for we send it for this purpose; in the name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Amen. Now, let no one handle it.
Now, do you believe with all your heart? Do you believe that the Lord Jesus is here to make well, to heal the sick and the needy? All right. I believe if we would pray right here now to each one, so you get out of the chill that... Do you believe that God would heal you? Do you believe He would do it?

Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

Exodus 14:22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

87 Are you aware that Jesus is come along? Is that according... How many Bible readers know that God promised that, that Jesus promised that? That's the things that He did. Now, remember, your brother has nothing to do with it. It's your faith in the resurrection of Jesus.
Is this the patient...? Is this... Oh, I'm sorry, sir. I wasn't to pass you, no. But being that you're standing here, we're strangers to each other, as far as I know; we are. Now, you are a man; and a friend by the name of Philip went and found Nathanael and brought him over where a man met our blessed Lord. Now, you and I being strangers would just be the same, that we don't know each other. But you and I both are meeting Jesus now.
And now, if He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He could let me know where your trouble is. And if He does, will you be reverent enough to believe that you're in His presence? You know that there's Something. Standing before me, a man, wouldn't make you feel like you're feeling now. You know that there's Something that's on you.

John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

88 Why did I call you? I was fixing to pray for the sick. The light was already on you. And I know the Holy Spirit wants me to talk to you. That's the reason I did it, for I was fixing to pray for the entire audience. But when I turned and felt the Spirit of God this way, and I looked and the light's all around you. Now, tears are running down your cheeks because you know you're in His presence. I'd never make you feel that way. I couldn't, I'm a man.
I wish the audience could only know what this is, what I speak of. I know it... You don't have to feel anything, you believe something. But it's because his faith is so anchored. Some way he realizes that he's in the presence of Something besides a man. Watch the expression on their faces as they come forward and just get into the presence of Him. Now, His presence is there, of course, too. But...
If our Heavenly Father, this being a man and us standing together that we have never met before in life, if God will tell the man what he wants, then surely God is interested in his desires. Is that right? Now, will the rest of you believe then with all with one accord?

89 Now, sir, the Lord Jesus grant it. I don't... It isn't necessary that I would look at you or anything, but just to talk to you. I don't look at those people in the audience, and so forth. May the Lord grant their request. Now, if you're sick, you know I can't heal you. But it takes the Spirit of God to do that, and your faith in Him. Surely with the faith that you have, you would receive it.
My brother, you're not here for sickness. You're here with a desire in your heart to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's what you're here for. That's right. Also, your wife, she has some spiritual problems, and she has pain, though; she's nervous and got pains through her body. That's right. You believe you will receive it?

90 I seen you somewhere else. You have been at a meeting of mine before, but you didn't get in. That wasn't in this city either. It was a city where a large lake, and I see Joseph Boze standing near. It was in Chicago. You was in Chicago seeking the Lord for the baptism of the Holy Ghost. "Thus saith the Lord." That is true. Let us pray.
Blessed Redeemer, Thou has give the promise which can never fail. Let Thy Holy Spirit come just now, deeply, richly, and set the faith of the Lord Jesus in the heart of this man, and may everything that he has desired tonight be manifested to him, and given to him.
And may he go from this building, down the street, rejoicing, saying, "Did not our hearts burn within us, for Jesus made Himself real to us tonight." Grant it, Lord. I bless this my brother, in the name of Jesus Christ, that he will receive that what he asked for. Amen. The Lord bless you, sir. You shall receive that what you have asked for. God be with you.

Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

91 Do you believe? All right. Will you come? Someone thought back there it was mind reading, just a few moments ago ... or, telepathy, rather. To prove it to you: Lady, don't look at me, but lay your hand on mine. If the Lord God will reveal to me what's your trouble, will you believe me as God's servant? You have heart trouble. That's right. You believe that God will make you well of it? Then go and be healed in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Do you believe, sir, with all your heart? [The brother says, "Amen."] You believe that God will heal you? ["Yes, sir."] All right. Then the diabetes would leave you, and you can go be made well. You believe it? All right. See, it is not, see.
A lady's trouble, and also a nervous heart. That's right. Go and be healed in the name of the Lord Jesus. It is not telepathy. It's the Spirit of the living God in these great days. Do you believe it? Then let us raise our hands to God, and I want you to pray with me this prayer:

92 O God, Creator of heavens and earth, Author of everlasting life, giver of every good gift, send Thy blessings upon us, and heal us. I now accept Jesus Christ as my healer.
Now, stay shut in with Him. That's your prayer. That's your confession. Just believe that that same great light that's here at the pulpit is circling it's way through the building. Oh, how wonderful. Receive your healing. The Lord Jesus make you well.
O Lord God, Creator of heavens and earth, I pray for this people that the blackness and shadows of unbelief might be lifted just now. Satan has been...

93 Satan, you have lost the battle. Come out. In the name of the Lord Jesus we adjure thee to leave this people, that they be made sound and well; through the name of Christ we ask it.
I believe, as a servant of Christ, that every one of you is healed right now. I believe it and I believe all the of those that would like a close walk with Christ should come right down here tonight and stand. You penitent sinner, come down here to the altar just now. And if He can save you and... Come down here and ask a little word of prayer, and give thanks for His goodness. Will you do it? You that believe that you're healed, stand up to your feet, give Him glory.
Give us a chord, "I Will Praise Him." All the people with their hands up.
I will praise Him, I will praise Him,
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
Let's lift Him up and sing it now.
I will (The Lord bless you) praise Him,
I will praise Him,
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
I will praise Him, I will praise Him,
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
