The Angel of the Lord

1 Enemies are try to rob God's children of their God-given privileges of divine healing, salvation, and so forth. He set them scarecrows up. And I... Some of them are setting up in the trees, and some on telegraph poles, and some are even setting on a fence post right next to the patch.
And I thought, "You got them right here in front of me for some cause." I thought, "Well, that's just like--just like the meetings." Some set way off; they're scared to death. They won't even come around the meeting. And the other one gets close enough to be setting right up at the patch.
But to my surprise, setting right on the arm of that scarecrow set two big blackbirds, just a eating to who wouldn't have it. And the rest of them flying around chirping and squawking.

2 Now, I said, "I'm just going to ask in my mind, 'Why don't you come down out of that tree and eat too? Are you hungry?'" Just starving to death. That's the way with people, just starving to death.
You say, "Well, why..."
I said, "Why don't you come out of the tree?"
If he could speak, he'd say, "Well now, looky here. Look at that old scarecrow." Well, you'd have to admit that there's strawberries in there all right.
Now, you said, "Is there any strawberries?"
Yes, there's strawberries. The freeze didn't kill them all. But thank God that the freeze never killed all the holiness out, and the movements of the Holy Spirit. Now... Got frostbitten a few times, but we got over it. Amen. Just a little scare once in a while...

3 All right. I love it, don't you? Notice. And these others were so close to the top, till they was looking right over it, and could even smell the strawberries, no doubt. But I say, "Why don't you get in?"
"Well, look at the scarecrow."
Well, I say, "Look, sitting on the scarecrow, sitting out there eating just as hard as they could eat, and bright eyed as they could ever be, and fly right up on the scarecrow, set there and eat the strawberries." Well, brother, there's no condemnation to them that's in the patch. That's one thing sure. They wasn't condemned; they was sitting there eating just so hard they can.
And I say, anybody that's in Christ Jesus has no condemnation, no fear. All things are passed away of the old worldly fear and doubt. And you're just setting there with your hearts open eating just as hard as you can eat. Well, you know what? An old scarecrow is a dinner bell sometimes to those who believe, a meal ticket. Yes, sir. You go to seeing something like that...

4 Now, God is in His people, always been a miracle working God. All ages when they had revivals breaking out, they had healing: Martin Luther, John Wesley, Sankey, Moody, oh, others you could call.
John Wesley... I stood near the shrine not long ago, that's built of him there, there at England, where that he was preaching divine healing and they turned a fox loose, and a bunch of foxhounds and scattered his audience. John Wesley turned and pointed his finger in that man's face, and he said, "The sun will not set on your head three times, till you'll be asking me to pray for you."
And as the sun went down that evening, the man died with cramps in his stomach. And Wesley never got to him.
And when Wesley was here in America, in his textbook, or his little book, notebook, he was going to pray for a woman riding his horse, and he--the horse stumbled, and fell, and broke its leg. And John Wesley went in his pocket and got a bottle of oil, said, "Almighty God, You made this horse's body the same as mine. I've got a need to be there," anointed the horse with oil, and rode it away. Now, that's Wesley's own word. Today they want to set it out of church, nearly. Brother, we've just fallen away. We've had scarecrows, but get around behind it.

5 Now, the devil's trying to keep you away from God. And we've got to have a bogus dollar... If we've got a bogus dollar, rather, we've got to have a real dollar for it to be made off of. When you get off the boat in India, you'll find Hindus out there, old hypocrites trying to lay out in spikes to clown a little for the tourists. But back in there is some real genuine Hindus who really cut themselves, and walk through fire, and everything, making sacrifice. Some of them never take their hands down for twenty years, till their fingernails growed through the back of their hands nearly, crying for peace in their soul.
They're real sacrificial people. But they're in the wrong worship, of course. But some will come out and clown. We have those things.

6 Someone asked me not long ago, said, "Brother Branham, if that Holy Spirit is so great," said, "I've seen people who's stood in the meeting, and shouted, and praised God, their tears running down their cheeks; and they would come out and do things that--like sinners, and go to sinful places, and live in sin." Said, "Was that the Holy Spirit making those people shout?"
I said, "Yes."
Said, "Oh, do you mean the Holy Spirit would fall on a person like that?"
I said, "Yes."
Jesus said, "A sower went forth and sowed some seeds. And a enemy came behind him and sowed some tares. And the husbandman said, 'Shall I go pull up the tares?'" Said, "If you do, you'll pull up the wheat. Let them both grow together. And at that day, I'll send the Angels, and they'll gather all the tares and burn them, and the wheat will be taken to the garner."
Hebrews 6 says that it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, made partakers of the heavenly gift (partakers of the Holy Spirit in heavenly calling), tasted the good Word of God and world--power of the world to come; if they shall fall away, to renew themselves again to repentance; seeing that they crucify themselves afresh the Son of God, and count the blood wherewith they was sanctified an unholy thing. For ... (Listen closely now.) For the rain cometh oft upon the earth to dress it, prepare it. But the thistles and thorns are to be burned.

7 Notice. In this same wheat field that was sowed, in there is briers, creepers, stink weed, everything, all growing together with the wheat. And when the drought is on, the creeper is just as thirsty for water as the wheat is. The water is sent for the wheat. But the creeper's just as glad to get the water as the wheat. And by their fruit you shall know them.
In the meeting the Holy Ghost falls over the building. But those who live godly in Christ Jesus are the people that'll be taken into the garner. And the tares--not for us to judge--but will be burned at the end. You see what I mean?
Then don't judge a person because they shout, or because they could praise the Lord. Judge them by the life they live. And if they're not living the right kind of life, don't turn them down; pray for them. That's the way to do it. And convert them from a nettle weed to a stalk of wheat. Amen.

8 Now, the people's attitude... Some people make up their mind, that when they come to the meeting, that they're coming to find something to criticize. Well now, Satan will be sure to show you that. If you come determined, you're going to find something good, God will show it to you. Now, it's your attitude, dear Christian.
And notice. Now, when Nathanael, he kind of made up his mind that when he come, he wanted to see what good could come out of Nazareth.
And Jesus saw him coming, and He knowed he was a just man, a good man. And He said... Jesus said to him, said, "Behold, an Israelite, indeed, in whom there is no guile."
And so, in other words, if I'd say he was coming in the prayer line here, a man, I'd say, "Why, behold, there's a Christian, a good truthful man."
"Why," he said, "how'd He know anything about me?"
He said, "Before Nathanael got to you--or Philip got you, you were under the tree."
And watch. Quickly, he didn't judge Him to be a spiritualist. He didn't judge Him to be something wrong. He said, "Thou, Rabbi (Master), Thou art the Son of God, the King of Israel." Now, he become a follower of Jesus.

9 The woman that touched the hem of His garment got the blessing that she asked for. He felt virtue go out. But when them men that knowed He was a prophet (as the woman at the well knew He was a prophet), put a rag around His eyes, and hit Him on the head with a reed, and said, "Now, if You're a prophet, tell us who hit You." They didn't feel no virtue, did they? It was the way you approach it.
And when you're coming to the Holy Ghost, if you're looking off to somebody that's clowning with It, you'll never feel no virtue. But if you'll just get that out of your mind, get the scarecrow back, and say, "Lord Jesus, it's my heart. I'm coming. What will You do for me?" you'll receive what you come for. That's right. For, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Is that right? Amen.
Oh, we love Him. How wonderful that He is.

10 And now, for in defense... As some people has made the remark that the only thing this could be would be spiritualism... Now, brother, it's all right what you say about me. But be careful what you say about God. Well, perhaps what if you could be wrong? If you're wrong, you could cross the separating line, would be no forgiveness in this world or the world to come for you. Did you know that? Jesus said, "Whosoever speaks a word against the Holy Ghost, it'll never be forgiven in this world or the world to come." Is that His Word? Just as essential as whosoever borned of the Spirit of God... Except a man be borned of the water and Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom.
All those are Scriptures. And that's the reason we should let our yea be yea and nay be nay, and watch what we're doing. Be careful.

11 Now, I am just trying to speak of this Angel of the Lord. I do not worship that Angel. And God, who is listening in now... Do you believe He hears us now? He is my sole Judge that I never...
In the first place I'd say this: I believe that if I'd even made the attempt, that the Angel Himself would correct me. For I truly believe He was sent from God.
Now, you might not be as firm to believe that as I, because I've talked with Him, and I know Him. And if there'd be fifty of them standing here now, I would know Him from the rest of them. I'd know His voice for one thing. I would know His looks for another. And He's a... He's a Man just as I am, and just as much human looking as I or you. And He looks to be a Man in His thirties, I'd say, a strong looking Man, folding His hands.
I realize that there is false angels. But every spirit that's not of God does not confess that Jesus has come in the flesh is of the wrong spirit. That's right. And I know there's been false angels. But when they testify of God and prove to be of God, then we believe those.

12 Now, Angels has always been ministering spirits that's sent to the church. Is that right? All through the apostolic age, or apostolic age, they had ministering Angels that went with the apostles, the disciples. Is that right? And most always, they appeared to them in a form of Light. Is that right? A Light shined down upon Paul (Is that true?), blinded him.
Peter was in the prison, and a Light shined in, the Angel of the Lord, and told him. Many different places in the Scriptures refers to them as a Light through the Pillar of Fire that followed the children of Israel: a Pillar of Fire. And this...
Any Bible teacher knows that the Angel that led Israel was the Angel of the covenant (Is that right?), which was Christ. Amen.

13 Notice. Now, as Jesus, or the Christ... Moses suffered the loss of his--the throne that he would've had in Egypt, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt. He chose to follow a Pillar of Fire (An Angel of God appeared to him in a burning bush), rather, than to be king of Egypt.
Now, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Is that true? And if He appeared to Moses in a form of a Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel... As He led them in the natural, so could He lead His church in the spiritual today.
They were on their road to the promised land. Is that right? We're on our road to the promised land. Is that right? "In My Father's house is many mansions. If it wasn't so, I would've told you. I go up and prepare a place and come again to receive you unto Myself."
Notice. Now, God in the Pillar of Fire led them... And then when He was here on earth, Jesus, He said, "I AM the I AM. I AM THAT I AM." Which that was the I AM that spoke to Moses in the bush...
And now, He says, "These things that I do shall you do also, and greater than this; for I go to My Father." Is that true? Now, when Jesus was here, and the people came to Him, He did not profess to be able to heal anybody. Is that right? He said, "I can do nothing... The Son can do nothing in Himself. But what He sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise; for the Father loves the Son and shows Him what things that He doeth." Is that right? Saint John 5. Now you see, He said, "I can do nothing in Myself," taking no credit.

14 Flesh cannot glorify, or glory in the presence of God. It all comes from the supernatural. Now, He said, "What I do, is what I see My Father doing." Is that true? Well then, when Nathanael came to Him, the Father had showed Jesus, standing here, what Nathanael was doing before Philip found him. Is that right? Amen.
"These things that I do, shall you do also." Is that right? "Greater things than this will you do, for I go unto My Father," more of them.
Now, that same Spirit... Not because that I'm here. Why, I have no more to do with it than anybody out there. It's because that He is here. Christ is here, the Holy Spirit, the Angel of God. And I'm merely just a mouthpiece for Him. And Moses was just a mouthpiece for Him. And Jesus was a Mouthpiece for God. And He died to redeem us sinners, that the program of God might be carried on down through the age through the church. And ministers that are consecrated to God, become channels where God can speak through, preach the Gospel, heal the sick, show signs and wonders.

15 And we've lived down through the time of the preaching, and teaching, and so forth. And we've got into a place now to where the church is so broke up, till God is just bringing in again, the supernatural to serve a people.
Now, man can come and claim anything. See, a man can say anything that he wishes to. But for him to say it is one thing, and for God to confirm that is another thing. And then when God confirms that it is the truth, then we should believe it, oughtn't we? Amen.
Now, that's just as plain as I know to make it. So when you hear somebody say that Brother Branham was a spiritualist, you tell them that was wrong. I'm a Christian. I'm saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, by His atoning Blood at Calvary. And tell me when ever you've seen a spiritualist healing the sick and doing...
You say, "Well, Brother Branham, that looks a whole like it."
Sure. Then it looked a whole lot like it when Jesus was here. And they called Him a spiritualist.
How about when the--Jesse lost some mules and he sent his sons to hunt them. And they said, "If we had some money, we'd go down and see the seer, Samuel, and he'd tell us where the mules was." Sounds pretty funny there, doesn't it? Does it? And they met...
Samuel, met him on the street and said, "Go on back home, because the mules has already went home. I'm going home with you."

16 See, people, a long time ago you ought to have come to God and got yourself settled down, know where you were standing. The Bible said in these last days that there'd be a famine, not for bread and alone, but for the hearing of the Word of God. And men would go from east, west, north, and south trying to find it, and would fail.
You better get sealed into the kingdom of God by the Holy Ghost, while you got a chance. You talk about a confusing time; it's a coming, when the Bible said, "They'd be so close till it would deceive the very elect, if possible." Is that right?

17 Now, another question I want to clear up. Someone said, "It doesn't mean that you're a Christian because you heal the sick, or cast out..." That's true. That's right.
He said, "Many will come to Me and say, 'Lord, Lord, haven't I cast out devils in Thy Name, and in Thy name done mighty works?'"
Jesus... Now, listen. Jesus said, "Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity. I didn't even know you."
Now, these people claim they done it. But they did not do it. That's right. For He said, "I never knew you." They just claimed they done it.
How could you write a check on me without me knowing? No. See what I mean? I checked with the bank.

18 Jesus said, "Many will come and say, 'Lord, have not I...'"
He said, "I didn't know you." No, you never ... see.
Many will confess and say, "I have cast out devils in Thy name, and in Thy name I prophesied," preachers and so forth, and everything.
He'd say, "Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity. I didn't even know you." Some people might've went out and had some kind of a fleshly idea, tried to get popular, or some big education, or could speak a few swell words and made some money out of it. Jesus said, "You workers of iniquity, I didn't even know you." And iniquity is something that you know that you ought to do and will not do it. That's right.
And every man knows that he's got to be borned again by the Spirit of God. You've got to receive the Holy Ghost. To turn it down is just the same as to turn Jehovah of the Old Testament, down in that day, or Jesus in His day: Same penalty and worse if you turn down the Holy Ghost. And it's not very well-thought-of. It's talked about.

19 And all that live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. The devil's always been after the church of the living God. Is that right? And it's always had a black name. Jesus was born in this world with a black name, as illegitimate child. Did you know that? Supposed to be born a child out of holy wedlock, Jesus had that hanging on Him. But in His heart He knew He was the Son of God. That's right.
And men and women, you know where you stand tonight. And there's only one more Person knows it; that's God knows where you stand. So if your heart's right with God. Really live for Him. Be true to Him. Love Him so much that He--everything else becomes secondarily. And then you'll love the Lord with all your heart, with all your strength, with all your soul, with all your might. God will lead you then. "The footsteps of a righteous man is ordered by the Lord."

20 Now, these things that you see done, I believe that I--reading these Scriptures and so forth in this Bible, how about many times... Brother Pethrus, I guess he told you about the resurrection of the little boy, or something another (I just went out there at the side of the road to pray in my car again, trying to get myself back a little bit, so I could get into the service.) of the things that would take place.
Sitting there in Lapland where I couldn't even speak one word, and half the Finns couldn't, or Swedes. And there the Holy Spirit would set in and tell people things all down. They were just in one accord, everybody just pleading out for God, and just great signs and wonders. There was no friction.
There's sometimes you get in such a rut till there is no really setting right to a man. Is that right? You just get to a place till subconsciously you're disbelieving when you don't want to do that, see. The thing to do is lay down everything and believe with all your heart.
Now, I believe that at--that tonight, I could say this... Outside I said I would tomorrow night.

21 Now, when we come here to this--your city about five, four years ago, there gifts of healing was only working by holding the person's hand. And if God will permit a cancer case tonight, I want to show it to my minister brothers, that the effect that that literally takes upon the human body. Nothing that I have in myself, it's the beat of that demon power pushing back to me. That don't mean nothing. I take hold of you in my hand and show you it just, swell a nearly, again its size, and white, big white things will run over the top of it, like that, holding that person's hand. Now, what does it. I can't tell you. My hand just gets numb.
That don't have one thing to do with divine healing, no power at all to heal. That's just a reaction. When my body becomes anointed with the Spirit, that's that germ disease out there reacting back. Now, I can go down here and take a hold of a cripple, and it won't work at all (See?), because there's no active germ of disease there. If there is, it'll tell me.

22 Now, and I said then, God promised me if I'd be faithful with that, it would come to pass that I'd be able to tell people what they had done in their life, and to... Is that right? And many of you Phoenix people know that's true. Oh, here it is, just exactly.
Now, the Bible says if there be one--something or another in there about a spiritual or prophet among you, and what he says comes to pass, then hear it. Is that right? "For I'm with... If it doesn't, then don't believe it, for I've not spoke." See?
Now, what I'm trying to say to you, that God is here. He's confirmed the things that I have said. That's true. He's done that. And I believe that He will continue to do it.

23 And tonight when we call these people to the platform and pray, I want every person in here to ... this night, to help me. And if I can... Now, when I'm talking to the person...
Now, looky here what a statement I made. How many's here for your first time? Let's see your hands, you're first-timers [unclear words]. Each night there's a group of the first-timers, maybe a hundred or hundred and fifty: oh, more than that, maybe two or three hundred. Well, that's when... We're happy to have you here.
And now, I want you to notice. Now, here's people setting here, and I don't know... God in heaven knows I don't one thing about you. I don't know. There's... They look like they're...
I see one, two, three, four--four or five prayer cards right here. There may be some setting all out through there. You've got prayer cards. On it, you'll find a number. And that number will just be--will just be called up here just merely to keep the row, I'd say it, "Well now, we're going to pray for some tonight, ever who wants to be prayed for, stand up." You know what starts.

24 And we've tried every way in the world to send... We used to send the prayer cards to the ministers. And the first minister got all of his people in, that was about what lasted the meeting. It take about five nights to get all his through. And then if he failed to give somebody one of the prayer cards, he give an outsider, then his congregation fell out with him about it.
And then we said we'd go to a prayer meeting, and all was there was first there first served. We give out the prayer cards and just keep right on down till we got the whole bunch. Then people flying in, spending their money, and things like that, was coming in, maybe have one day to spend, and have to go right back. Well, there's no need of coming if you can't be there the first day. The prayer cards give out. And that'll take care of the rest of the meeting.
So then they... I figured the only way that I knowed how to do was to come down and give out prayer cards every day. And everybody has just as much chance as the other one. That makes it equal for the, maybe, for the people here. The minister's not responsible. Nobody's responsible. I'm not myself. I give them to my brother, and he gives them out, or somebody, or my little boy this time. And I thought, surely, the people would respect the little fellow to give out the prayer cards. And he give them out. And no one in the world... Only time I come here to the platform...

25 I used to have a little child to stand up and count. And where he stopped, that I would... And then we'd start the prayer line from there. It got so people would put their little children up in front so they could count of it. That was--don't think they'd do it. But it would do it anyhow.
So the only thing I knowed to do was to come here at the platform, and say, "God, where shall we start that prayer line?" And start it from right there. Then sometimes we stop, like last night...

26 And by the way, last night I called someone, a certain number. I don't know. I was calling on down through the place, just a one here and there, just whatever would drop in my mind, I would call it.
And when I got home, somebody had give the little boy a letter, or somebody. It was laying on my table when I went in home. And one woman said, "I have followed it as long as I can, Brother Branham. And the next thing is suicide." And she described her case.
And my little boy, and Brother Sharrit and them, said, "Brother Branham, that's the same woman that come to the platform last night," and described the same things, her setting on the platform. And the woman was healed last night in the meeting, setting there.
How God had that number out there. He just called it, just picked it out, like that, to stop a suicide case. You see how it is? God is so wonderful. Just believe Him with all your heart. He'll bring it to pass.
Now, God will confirm His Word with signs and wonders following It. We all believe that. We believe that with all of our heart. And now, He's here and can do all things.

27 What time is it, Brother Hall? I guess I'm awfully late. Yes, all right. I haven't got a chance to say how I appreciate Brother Hall. I've just been talking so much. I've talked more in this meeting than I have in a dozen meetings since ... before there.
There's just something about Phoenix that I love. I don't know. And it's just something in my heart goes down all... Since I was a little boy setting in school, I used to read of Arizona, how I always longed to go to Arizona. And when I get here, I just get beside myself.
And this morning in that ministerial group, to see that wonderful fellowship, my heart just went right out to them brothers. And now, all of you cooperate together and have a great church here.

28 Brother Hall has done a wonderful job. I met Brother Hall some time ago. He's been a bosom brother to me. And I tell you; I've been with Brother Hall a long time. And I believe Brother Hall lives just exactly what he talks about. And that's right. A good man, a Christian man...
Brother Lindsay has gone back to the "Voice of Healing." He has a lot of subscribers and things. He has to be there. Perhaps Brother Hall and I will be together the rest of the summer, all but when I meet with Brother Baxter, another fine Christian gentleman, Brother Baxter. We'll be going to Africa together pretty soon.
Now, God bless you all. And let's have our prayer line now. First, let's bow our heads for just a word of prayer. Everybody be deeply and sincerely...
And forgive me for talking too much and taking up time. I want to pray for just as many as I can get through this line tonight. When I talk a long time to a person, He keeps telling what's wrong with them, and what's this, and what's that. As soon as I can see the first speck of faith, I dismiss them, just so they can go ahead and get well.

29 O Father, You're here. We love You. This morning in the fellowship to see that young man come up, pulled out of that little box his glasses, that he had to put in his eyes to see. I don't know, but he felt in here. I called him out the other night in the audience there. Been in that condition for a long--eyes going blind. And now, he's packing them artificial eyelids or lens in his pocket. And through the power of the Holy Spirit looking through them eyes, how we thank Thee, Lord.
Hearing those that said, "I was sick. Diabetes was killing me. And now, I'm healed."
Hearing all these great testimonies that's coming in from the meeting. We thank You, Lord. We thank You for the wonderful fellowship.

30 And now, may the Holy Spirit meet here. And dear God, now I've talked a long time. Many have talked; the people are well worn. They've been setting. But I thank You for them. They're not weary. They're still waiting to see You. They've loved You. They've believed You before they could even see any move of You. And now, You're beginning to reveal Yourself closer. And after a while, we shall see You appear. You revealed Yourself in Your Word years ago to our fathers. In this last days, has been coming down by the Holy Spirit, and now, coming into a healing manifestation of the supernatural. The next step will be: Jesus to appear. And how we thank You, Lord.
And now, may all these poor sick people here tonight believe with one accord, and every one of them be healed, Lord. Thou knowest who's coming to this platform. You know how many of them cards that's out there, and what the disease is, and how long the people's going to live. There might be some that must have faith right now, or tomorrow may be too late.
Now, Father, in that group, You call Your people. Give them faith to be healed. Grant it, Lord, for we ask it in the name of Thy Child, Jesus. Amen.

31 All right. Thank you so much for your kindness, and if I ask you to bow your heads... I just looked over the audience. And even standing on the outside, the people had their heads down. No wonder God's working through you like He is, because you have a great respect. I believe, not because I've been here, but because we've got together, I believe God's blessed us. Don't you think so? May be... It made my heart feel happy and rejoicing.
Now, there's a group of prayer cards out there. Where's Billy? How many did you give out today? A hundred? That's fifty more than we have been giving out. All right. Maybe we can call... Just let me stand tonight as long as you can.
And now, I just then, I felt the Spirit of the Lord come down on me just then. Just then He touched me. That's right. God, Who is my Judge, He's standing here now, just now, whirled down over me just then. I feel It now. And my hands are beginning to numbing, feeling strange. My lips get so thick. Sometimes you'll notice me rubbing my face. Feels like my lips are that thick. It just...

32 And if I don't talk very much to the person, I can get more through. But if I go to talking... You've noticed that, haven't you? The more you talk to a person, the more It begins to show. And sometimes I get them at home, in my home or somewhere, set them down to themselves and just set and go to talking. The Holy Spirit will just talk a hour right down along the line.
That's the reason out in the meetings they keep my staying secret, because when they get a hold of... And what that just weakens me right down. And when I get to the meeting, I'm just all out. See? That's the reason we try to...
As long as I can live, we want to share It along everywhere so everybody can get a view of it and start praising God and believe in Him.
All right, sonny. So you give one to a hundred? Let's make the first... What? "Q." Q-1 to a 100. Well, let's begin... Where'd we start last time? Seemed like we begin at 1 last night here; 1, I believe we begin at 1. Well, let's begin 25 tonight. Let's begin 25 to 35: Q-25 to 35. And you watch your cards now.

33 And if you're not able to get up, then just hold your card. When you see... If you're number twenty-eight and you see three passed through, then hold up your card (See?), and tell the ushers. They'll come get you and put you right in the line anywhere.
Now, this is the ministry, friends. This is to make faith. It's a power. I wouldn't say a gift of divine healing, which it is. Anybody that's got faith in healing has the gift of healing. See? Anybody that believes in divine healing and believes in prayer for the sick, that's a gift.
But now, to heal somebody, no, I can't. The only thing I'll be able to do, would be know what's wrong with you, or know why that you can't get healed.
Now, remember this. Listen close. Remember this, that "Q"... What was that called for? 25. Q-25 to 35 first. Q-25 to 35. Look on your card.

34 Some Spanish brother ought to speak that so that they would understand. Somebody can speak Spanish, say, "Q-25 to 35," please. Anybody speak Spanish here? Come here, brother. I'm sure I couldn't say that unless the Lord was telling me. All right. [The brother makes the announcement.] Thank you, brother.
All right. Q-25 to 35 first. Now, as soon as we can get through with those, if you have good faith, those that's coming in the line, then I'll--we'll call another number, or either just start and start picking numbers around all over through the whole thing.
And I want you to see, my dear brother, sister, that coming up here, it doesn't matter. I don't say, "Well, let Mrs. John Doe, or this over here, comes." It doesn't matter to me. I have the... I don't know where to start and what to do. I'm just leaving that to God. And only thing it will do will help you build faith.

35 You could come here and stay on this platform, and I could pray for you until tomorrow night at this same time, and it would never have a bit effect on you until you believe that God heard my prayer. Is that right?
But you can't come here and stand here without me knowing what's wrong with you. That's right. Yes, sir. And the things that's causing you, your sins, and the things that you've done. It'll certainly tell you that. That's a gift that God gave to me, see. That's my possession that God gave me.
But now, the other, Jesus Christ has already done that for you. Nobody can do it, because He's already done it. We believe in prophetic things, don't we? We all believe that.

36 And now, everybody reverent. Is that your first patient, Billy? All right. Bring the man along. All right.
Brother Sharrit, you just watch. And if there's some of them kind of sickly, set them a chair so they can set. All right. That's fine.
Now, I'm sure that all of you... How many love God? Let's see your hands. All right. Now, you love Him. And I... By His grace, I trust that He'll let His humble servant bring His Presence down to you all now, see. That's what I pray that God will do.
Now, here stands before me a Spanish or an Indian brother, perhaps Mexican brother. And there's something that's wrong with him. I do not know. I can't tell you. And I'll have to find out. Then if he'll believe, well then, he will be healed. If he doesn't believe, he couldn't be healed if Jesus was standing here and wearing my suit, standing right here, he couldn't be healed. He'd have to believe. I don't see what more He could do now than what He's doing.

37 Now, everybody real reverent. Just be as reverent as you can and listen close. And I'll just try to get just as many through... 'course, if it goes to stopping me and pulling me, and many people are kind of halfway faith, then it goes to moving out and tells something else, and something else, and something else. Then first thing you know, it tears me away.
And they're standing everywhere, watching me. Because last night was kind of hard. And I'm spending my life for you people. You understand.
Come, sir [unclear words]. Yes. I perceive that you're a Christian man. You believe in God. I believe that, my brother. Isn't that a strange, how that makes you feel standing here? Yes, sir.

38 Now, I was reading awhile ago, in the Scripture where Nathanael came to Jesus. And Jesus, when He seen him coming, He called him a believer too. Now, when you come, you might not have been a believer. I would've knowed it. But I knew you was a believer. I said you are a Christian. That's something like the same Spirit. Is that right?
Now, we'll see what our heavenly Father will reveal to me. You know that He's here. You have a feeling. You know that there's something different. Isn't that right, sir? Hold your hand up so your Spanish people can see. There's something near.
Now, we're strangers here, brother. We never met in life, never met before. But, brother, I see your trouble. You have rheumatism, don't you? Yes, sir. You did have. You're free from that now. Jesus Christ has healed you. Raise your feet up-and-down like this. You are healed, my brother. You can go and be of a good courage [unclear words]. Thank you, brother.
Let us say, "Praise the Lord."

39 Some of the Spanish brethren get around him and thank the Lord. And he's wonderfully...
Now, how did I see that? The man has attacks, and his hands hurt. I seen him setting behind a house, a rubbing his arms first, setting behind, or leaning back with a chair. If any of his loved ones are here, might know that he's sitting like that. And then I seen sometime, he was trying to get up from a bed. And he just couldn't hardly make himself out of bed. And it was hurting.
Anyone here know the man? Raise your hands if anybody knows the man, anybody knows of him. You know that's what was wrong with him? Is that right, brethren? There's your witnesses out there. You see that... See? Amen. Now, that's a vision that is seen. See what I mean? Now, everybody be reverent.
Now, is that the same kind of a Spirit that was upon our Master? He told him, said, "Before you come, I seen you when you were under a tree." I seen him when he was getting out of the bed, and when he was setting behind the house. See? All right. There it is, the same Holy Spirit. Isn't He wonderful?

40 All right. Now, bring the man here. How do you do, brother? You're a believer. Yeah, you're a minister too, aren't you? And your eyes is what's bothering you. Isn't that right, brother? Go, and God bless you, my brother.
Heavenly Father, bless my dear brother, and give him his sight normally again. His heart's full of love for You. And I bless him in the name of Thy Son Jesus Christ.
Let's say, "Praise the Lord," everybody. How wonderful our Master is.
All right, you bring her. How do you do? You speak English? A little? All right. Are you an Indian? I thought so. Are you Apache? I want to come, visit your people again. Were you up when I was at the reservation, San Carlos? You was? I have great respect for the Indian people. I love them. And God loves you.
And we are strangers, you and I? But you have been sick for some time, haven't you? Yes, ma'am. You have a female disorder (Isn't that right?), and a heart trouble. Many times, you get upset. When you lay down, the heart bothers you worse. I see you reaching for your breath. Is that right? You're healed, my sister. Jesus Christ makes you whole.
Heavenly Father, we bless our dear sister, now, may she be a great testimony among her dear people in Jesus' Name. Amen. God bless you, sister, dear. Now you go and be healed, Amen.

41 Let us say, "Praise be to God."
All right. Everybody reverent. O God, if there's a Apache Indians here, I've got your telegram from San Carlos. And I may have to leave real early Monday morning to go home to get my wife, to get back to California for the summer. If I don't go, I want to have two or three days up on the reservation with you people. And if I do go, maybe I can get a day at least on my road back to stop in and see the Indians at the reservation at San Carlos. If the missionary is here, I will try to be back right away to be with you dear people.
Sometime, if you would like for me to, I'd like to come and be your associate pastor out there for a little while, just to be with you, to help you out on for a while.
I don't like to see people pushed back. No, sir. I think we owe the Indian plenty. Amen. God bless them. I've never seen one come through the line yet but what was healed. That's right. Them and the Spanish, humble, very humbly, they believe what you tell them. And that's what it takes.

42 All right, Billy, bring the... How do you do, sir. Well, as soon as you walked up, when you were setting there you were thinking about, "Well, this is the time that I've wanted to be here." Isn't that right? And when you were there, a real strange feeling come over you while you were setting in the chair. Is that right? That's when your heart trouble left you, brother. You can go ahead home now and thank the Lord.
Let us say, "Praise the Lord Jesus."
All right. Now, you're going to get well, brother. Just go ahead. Believe the blessing of God is upon you. Have faith. Just praise Him. Forget all about it. Just go ahead. The promise is yours now. It's yours. God has promised it in His Book, promised it through His prophet--or servant. Is that right? Amen. Remember, believe.

43 Howdy do? Speak English? Look [unclear words]. Could you come just a little closer to me? You love the Lord? I believe you do, sister. Wouldn't you like to be a testimony up there on the reservation of your healing when I come back? Was you up there the last time I was there at San Carlos? You remember the lady? I wanted her to give me that little black-eyed baby? She said, "No." She didn't want to give me her little baby. It was pretty, the little baby.
You've been sick some time, for years back. You started getting nervous first, having funny feelings, weary, strange feelings. Then all at once, you begin to spit up, something in your mouth; your stomach begin to hurt. And now, you're sick at your stomach. That's right. You have a peptic ulcer in your stomach, caused from nervousness due to menopause, change of life.
Let me have your hand. The Lord Jesus loves you. And He died that you might be well. He sent me as His prophet to tell you what is truth. You believe true? I'm going to pray and ask Him. You go home and you can eat what you want to without any trouble.
Almighty God, have mercy upon this dear woman, standing here with truly a real faith. And You're standing here showing me a vision of what she's done. And I pray Thee, heavenly Father, to grant Your blessings upon her as I bless her in Your name. May she go home. May this condition leave her, she be a good well woman to testify of Your glory. I ask this sickness to leave her in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
God bless you, sister. Go on your road, eat now. You're all right.

1 Thank you, brother. Good evening, friends. Very happy to be here again this evening to pray for the sick and the afflicted. I trust that this will be a great night, that there'll be no one left that's even sick or on cots or anything when the service is over tonight. May the Lord add His blessings.
I just thinking I had a little too much volume somewhere: it was a rebounding. Well, I feel good tonight and just happy. I just had a good season of prayer awhile ago and just seem like that our Lord was so near, and I just ask Him with all my heart if He would just let the meeting just be even a greater meeting than we had, that the poor, sick and needy would be healed tonight of all manner of diseases and things would be healed. I pray that God will grant it to His mercy.

2 Now, I want to... I was just listening a few moments ago to Brother Hall's message about the supernatural. It was really wonderful. I appreciate that: that we are working by the supernatural. Everyone that cometh to God must believe that He is and a Rewarder to him that diligently seek God. Now, we do not work upon what we see or what we feel, but by what we believe. Isn't that right?

3 My voice is just a little bit hoarse. Thank you. Can you hear all right back at the back, way back? Way back at the back, can you hear all right? That's fine. Thank you. I don't have a very loud voice, and I'm not too big to begin with, so it's a... When I was borned I weighed five pounds, and I got a bad start. And I haven't ... out-growed it yet. So I wished I was bigger for one purpose: I could maybe have more room to love the Lord more. I've just... And if it's any--He's any dearer and better to the big people, I certainly admire them, because He's certainly wonderful to me. And I love Him with all my heart. Wonder how I ever got along those years that I lived without him. It's been a...
I was telling my little son. If there's anything that I have to regret in my life, that I did not turn to Jesus when I was a little boy, just a little bitty boy, and serve Him.

4 Now, we're going to take tonight our... 'Course we realize, knowing that another service is going on in the city (I'm very conscious of that.), of Brother Freeman's meeting, and our crowds are not very big yet. And while this is, I was--just thought maybe that I would take a few minutes each night to teach just a little on the Word and kind of run just a--maybe a little series in the book of Exodus here, and just speak on it a little while each night and watch the clock and try to get out in time that we would have a little prayer line. Now, each evening...
And as Brother Hall was saying a moments ago (If I understood him right, I was downstairs, or down in another section of the church down there.) that the leading, the principle of the meeting is to inspire faith, that each individual would accept Christ as their Healer and would be healed. That's what the purpose of the meeting is for. See? It's impossible almost for me to get to each one. And I hurry just as quick as I can. If you'll notice with each patient, when I think that the appropriate faith is there, I go ahead and pray for the person. Now, it'll be just the same for each one of you out there in the audience. Each one of you that'll accept it and believe it, it'll be just the same to you there as it is up here. Now, the only thing this does to the person that does come up to the platform, it'll almost could tell whether it's really, really faith or not.

5 Now, you meet me on the street and say, "Brother Branham, what about..." I probably know nothing about that. But now, on the platform when someone meets me, then I--it's not me that's speaking. When you hear my voice speaking when that inspiration is on, I have no more control of that than you know what you're going to say next New Year's day. I do not have no control of that; It speaks Itself. It's my voice, and I'm listening to myself talk just as you're listening to me now talk. I hear myself, what It says to the people. And then I know then... Sometimes take a hold of their hand, I'll wait there, and after while I'll hear what it speaks, just hear myself speak, talking to the people. It's a very strange feeling. And under that anointing, being that my services are so close together, that it's best for me not to be too much under it at a time in one service.
And Moses of old was committed--the Lord committed to him two signs to do before the people. And he performed those signs one time and that's was all he did it. Israel believed from then on and followed the leader. Why, these signs, is not for you to follow me, but to follow what I tell you. And that sign is this: that you are to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit will lead you.
And then when you're told something up here at the platform, you must believe that with all your heart. And the purpose of this is that the people... There may be somebody in the prayer line tonight that I'll know, have met somewhere else. Probably when that anointing was on I would not recognize them: sometimes I do and sometimes I do not. But if I would, well, er... Now, I've met... Two or three times I've met people like that, but very seldom. Then I have no way of knowing what's wrong with that patient or what they've done in their life. And many things that they do not wish to be told out here at the platform, but I can't help it, it speaks itself.

6 Now... And if It tells you exactly what has been in your life, and you know that, you--you're aware of that, and you're aware... The first thing when the patient comes, if you'll watch then when they come reverent, when they get real near, watch the expression on their face change. It'll change me, and I... Some of them...
There's a picture back there when the Angel of the Lord was up over me when they had the picture taken. Said, "Brother Branham, that don't look like you." No, it set... When it's just that close to you it just changes you; you're--there's something different, you're... Something happens. Then when the patient's coming, they will... If they're a believer... Now, if you're not a believer, if you're just coming just for curiosity, or maybe you're a little skeptic about the Angel of the Lord, you'll never notice it. See, only those who are looking for God are the ones who find God. Only those... When the woman touched the hem of His garment, for she said, "If I may but touch Him, I'll be made well." Why, she felt the virtue went out; she got what she wanted.
But those who put a rag over His face and smote Him on the face and said, "Now if you're a prophet prophesy and tell us who hit you." they didn't feel any virtue at all. They wasn't feeling for it. They didn't believe it. But the ones who believed it was the ones who received it. And that's the way it is with salvation. Those who believe God...
If someone said, "I do not believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit." Well, you'll never be able to receive it until you believe it. That's right. You got to believe it. For all things of God are by faith.

7 And then when you see the person here... The benefit of having them on the platform... Usually I would never have to have a prayer line, just stand here in the audience and maybe speak to the people right out in... I have done that, but it's so strenuous. Usually I have to wait till the anointing gets real deep and then maybe I can single out the people where they're--the sick ones out in the audience. Many times I see the people that's crippled, or afflicted, or something like that, and I know what's wrong with them, they're... I could tell them what was wrong, but that's no mystery; anyone could see anyone was crippled. That... Any could say, "Well, sure, he said that person had arthritis. Why certainly, look at them all crippled up. And that man's blind, that they're leading him around, why, he's blind. Why certainly, anyone would know that." But the person that looks healthy and then go down and tell that person, now, that's the difference. That--there's where the mystery part comes, that's not a mystery, it's a--for the people, the children of God to recognize that their Saviour is present. You see?

8 Now, I truly believe that the coming of the Lord is nigh at hand. These things would not be taking place, children of God, unless something was going happen. Now, I do not claim to be knowing all things of God. And I do not say that this is what the Lord has told me, for many times I say things, "I believe this or believe that." like you do. That doesn't make it so. I can...
You say, "Brother Branham, you pray for me. You believe I'll get well?" Yes, I can believe it, but I won't know it until He tells me so. Then when I see the vision that it is, then I know it's going to be. And in doing that that weakens my faith a little on the other side (You see?), because I'm looking to that direct positive side always. And that's what hurts in my meeting many times. The people watch to get into the line to get that direct positive side of what's going to happen to them. You see what I mean?

9 And as far as I know, the best of my knowledge, to all of the people that I--have come before me to be prayed for, there has never been one time in all my life that I can remember praying for the sick when I absolutely saw the vision and told them that the Lord Jesus had healed them but what was well. Now, I never seen it my... See, I never seen it... I seen...
Many times I've seen the people on the platform and knew they were going to die: turns dark around them. And I know they're not long. I'll say, "Go, and may the Lord Jesus bless you. Go, and have faith in God." Now, maybe He show me that that person, death is on the person, I can't overcome it. Maybe if I could set down with that person awhile, talk with them, take a long time, twenty, thirty minutes, sometimes a hour, and just speak to the person till God will show the vision, then there may be something told to that person that would cause them to repent of something that's maybe--or some promise they could make to God that would bring God's favor to them and heal them, because many times God pronounces something and then He changes His mind on it. Did you know that?
A king one time was told by the prophet that he was going to die. You remember that? And the prophet, after he give his message, walked right back out of the room, and the king turned his face to the wall and wept bitterly, said, "Lord, I beseech You. I've walked before You with a pure heart." And now he wanted his life spared for fifteen years so something to glorify God. And the prophet had done gone, but the Spirit of the Lord come upon the prophet after God done told him he was going to die, said, "Go back." And the prophet told him in three days he was coming off his bed, that God heard his prayer. So prayer changes things. Isn't that right? So prayer changes things. So therefore, I ask the people then to go pray, 'cause it might change.

10 Now, but each individual... And my business here, I see our land that... The reason that I'm figuring on... This will probably be my last trip through the country for some time, unless the Holy Spirit leads. Our... We're got many great campaigns out on the field, hundreds of them. I noticed in the "Voice of Healing" this month (Brother Lindsay's paper back there), there was many many new ones had come in. And look like we're kind of getting in one another's way. So it's a--too many in--even in one city, so I think that God used me to go out, which I'm thankful to let the little sparks begin to fly now that the thing is kindled everywhere. And I pray that God will not only use those brothers out there, but will send hundreds of more campaigns everywhere, everywhere. And I feel that after a bit I'll probably spend a--most of my life in the foreign fields.
And I come and... And 'course I'll have to have a little finance to carry me on, and then maybe have a few meetings till the people send me again back into lands of the Africa and different places. Now, I don't believe it'll be very long till our Lord Jesus comes.

11 Now, remember this. Now, this is not the Lord speaking; this is your brother, Brother Branham. And the best of my knowledge... Now, just remember this and watch it close. We are in for the end time. Watch geographically where your war is coming out, see. Watch the Gog up there coming down (See?), down in Turkey and so... The battles will not be settled in Korea but over there in Palestine, see. We're near. And I'd appreciate it... And yesterday I ... or this morning, I believe it was, I almost [unclear words] joy when I heard that the Brother Graham, Billy Graham, is going to have a meeting there in Washington. I was so happy for that, but I'm just a little afraid that is, that we've sinned away our day of grace. I believe we're in for it.
When we come to a place where we join up and won't--and would throw aside the Bible and not even offer prayer, nor nothing else to appease some ungodly nation that doesn't believe in God, we're in for it. That's right. Yes, sir. I said that from the beginning, so how can two walk together except they be agreed? That's true. And when we throw off Christ, we refused the cross, and now we got a double cross, haven't we? That's right. That's what it is. All right, so much and God bless you now, as...

12 I want to read just, set, maybe three little, or four little sermonettes like, or little teachings here on the book of Exodus. I want to read some out of the book of Exodus over in the--the 3rd chapter.
And I will watch the clock and hurry. And just as it gets time, then I'll cut off and take up again tomorrow night.
We want to study just a little bit in the book of Exodus. How many would like that, let's see your hands; just study a little bit on the church?
Now, the 3rd chapter, I'll read for a portion of Scripture. Wish we had time just to... At home, we used to take these lessons in Exodus, and Genesis, and so forth, and just teach them, just those old nuggets. And oh, what a time we had with them. And I thought it would... I would just like to try it again right here while we're not crowded, just for a few nights in Exodus the 3rd chapter.
Listen closely now to the reading of the Word.
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mount of God, even to Horeb.
And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

13 Now, shall we bow our heads just a moment. Our heavenly Father, we have come here tonight for a compound reason. We've come that people might be saved by believing on the Lord Jesus, then that they--the sick might be healed by believing on the Lord Jesus. Therefore, our fathers has taught Thy Word, and You have worked great miracles with our fathers. And we are happy to be their children today, to inherit the rights of being a free American where we can open the Bible and teach, and believe God, and worship Him according to the dictates of our conscience. We're very happy for this privilege.
We ask You to bless those who paid the supreme price on the battlefronts everywhere that's given us this hour of freedom. O Eternal God, have mercy.
But we realize that the dark clouds are floating high now, and that they're going to get darker according to Thy Word. And we're so thankful to know that we're children of the Light tonight, that we have the Light of God in us. And we are happy that our heavenly Father has so blessed us in this last day, of pouring out His Spirit, giving us the Holy Spirit to live by and to enjoy; and now, has given us great signs and wonders: mysterious things to the world, but not mysterious to those who believe in You. For we've been looking for these days.

14 And now, to think that here on the platform in this tabernacle where once stood great men, the founder, our brother, Paul Rader, and many of those great men who stood here. And tonight, the Christ that they preached is coming down in great power, manifesting Himself, sending forth His Angel to declare His Light. O God, have mercy upon us. And may we pinch, as it was, our conscience, waking ourselves up to the realization that the time is drawing nigh. Deliverance is at the door. And we're ready for the journey.
Help us to put on the full armor of God now tonight, get ready, buckle up, shod ourselves with the Gospel, put the helmet of righteousness, the breastplate, and the armor, and take the sword, and go forward now (Grant it, Lord), as full dressed warriors tonight of Christ. May every demon of darkness be driven back. May the power of the Holy Ghost come down in this building, the Angel of God appear visibly right here on the platform tonight, giving us such a shaking like we've never had before. Grant it, Lord. May many be healed tonight and saved. For we ask it in the name of Thy Child, Jesus. Amen.

15 I believe that all of the old things was a type of the new to come. What Israel was in the natural, we are in the spiritual. God leading Israel naturally, was what He's doing for us spiritually today.
We're all very familiar with this Scripture that I've just read. And we're going to try to set forth tonight, God preparing for the journey, God setting His church in order, then God's exodus of the church--taking it out, God's journey with the people in the wilderness. And then the last call where Joshua takes the children of Israel over into the promised land.
Oh, I trust that God will make Himself visible to us, so real. I don't know what more He could do. He's never done hardly anything in the ages past any more than what He's doing now.
And to think that we have the privilege of being alive here tonight. Well, that thrills my heart beyond my words to utter, how I appreciate that what God is doing for us now in this present day. And to think that God has given me the privilege to share this blessing with His people, you, the purchase of His blood. That I, by this that He has given, might be able to show Him to you, and to bring you to a closer fellowship with Him, that's more than my heart can even comprehend.

16 Now, we all are familiar with the Scripture of how Israel came down into Egypt. It was because of a famine. He was driven down there from starvation. The story is very pathetic.All the Old Testament speaking of the New... I believe in Hebrews 12, it said, "Seeing that we're compassed about with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that does so easily beset us, that we might run with patience the race that's set before us." Amen.

17 All right. Joseph, one of the patriarchs, sold down into Egypt, perfect type of Christ, betrayed by his brethren, sold for a few pieces of silver--about thirty pieces, about like Christ was. He wore a coat of many colors, as Christ was seen in Revelations 1 setting on a throne and a rainbow over Him... There's seven perfect colors representing the seven church ages. Rainbow representing a covenant, He was to look upon as jasper and sardis stone, which was Reuben and Benjamin, the First, the Last, He that was, which is, and shall come, the Root and Offspring of David, the Morning Star... How marvelous. And with the covenant to His churches, seven golden candlesticks behind Him, each candlestick representing a church age.
And we're living in the Laodicean age, the last. And He was standing with His hands out to look upon. And there, one hand like this was Alpha, the other one as Omega. As the lights went out, on up to the dark ages and come down; just as they come in, so will they go out, the same kind of church, same kind of signs, same kind of people, Alpha and Omega.

18 Oh, my. Then I think of God speaking to Joseph. After he was taken up, he was the blessed child. There's why I believe that men are borned in this world to do certain things. Joseph could be nothing else but a prophet, for he was borned a prophet. God foreordained Joseph to be a prophet. No matter how much cursings and kickings he got around, he was God's prophet. He had to be. Gifts and callings are without repentance.
Notice. Then he was taken up, supposingly, out of the pit to have been dead, like Christ was raised up. And he set at Pharaoh's right-hand. When he was in his prison, like Christ with His cross, there's one thief lost and one saved; so was there in Joseph, one butcher and the baker, one was lost and one was saved. Joseph foretold them what would be their destination, and so did Jesus at the cross.
And notice. Then when he died, Joseph, he made mention of his bones, saying, "Surely God will visit you someday. And when you go out, take my bones with you." What a perfect type of Christ, exactly.

19 Now, those Hebrews, when they were being bondaged and beaten, and the taskmasters upon them beating them, slaves; many an old Hebrew would pass by that coffin and would look in there, and see the bones of Joseph. He could look up and say, "Someday we're going out, for our prophet, our brother, has said that someday his bones would go before us. God's Word said that they would go out of there." God had told Abraham years before. And they had a promise. And every tired Hebrew could look upon that and say, "There's the promise of God."
What a great promise we have today. When we stand at the grave and see our loved ones go down, a few of those flowers crushed in the minister's hand, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, and earth to earth, but down through the old pine trees whispers, the wind blowing,
There's a land beyond the river,
That they call the sweet forever.
We only reach that shore by faith's decree;

20 Notice. Then we look at that tomb, that grave mound up. Then we can look over yonder in Jerusalem. There's one that's empty. He's coming again to receive those... All that are dead in Christ shall come with Him. God shall bring them from...
And today, when we bury our children, and our mothers and fathers, we hear that ceremony. Then we sh--close our eyes, look away to Jerusalem. "If I go away, I'll come again to receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there ye may be also." Taskmasters and sickness may drive us. That's right. It's drove us. Death has drove us to the grave.
But as Paul of old, when he was ready to die, and they fixing the chop block to fix--cut his head off, he said, "O grave, where is thy victory? Death, where is thy sting?" In other words, "Death, you're coming. You're trying to scare me, but you can't scare me."
The grave said, "I can hold you."
"You can't do it, for in Jerusalem there's an empty tomb. You can't hold me. Where is your sting? Show me where you can make me scared of you. I'm not afraid to die. Grave, show me your victory. You can't do it, for I can point an empty tomb to you, and I am in Him. And those that are in Him will God bring with Him." There you are. Just as sure as He arose from the dead, the church is going up (Amen.), going up to meet Him.

21 What a perfect type Joseph was, and Christ the antetype. Then we notice that years passed by, and they fared sumptuously. But finally there rose up a Pharaoh who did not know Joseph. God was fixing His church now to bring it out.
And I believe that we fared sumptuously. In the early days there was a great persecution against religion. And as we know in Revelations and so forth, where the woman fled into the wilderness and was nourished there for a time, time, and the dividing of time. And we're down to that end time now.

22 The word of the little lamb that rose up in Revelations 13, a lamb. Two little... Probably a little horn--civil and ecclesiastical power. But after is lamb, freedom of religion and so forth. But after while, he spake like a beast, like the dragon, and exercised all the power the dragon did before him, a bitter religious persecution. We're nearing that time.
You remember, church, that you're living in the best day that you've ever will live in, right now, until Jesus comes. It shall gradually... Not gradually, but rapidly get worse and worse.
When Russia goes down there to get that oil, look out. That's all she needs. That's what the prophet said it would do. And we're ready for it then.
So church, get ready to meet Christ. He's sending great revivals and meetings, and stirring the full Gospel people. Signs and wonders appearing everywhere, great wonders to draw His people together. And one day He shall come, the Deliverer.

23 Now, notice. Just before He taken them out to the promised land, they begin to cry, bitterly cry. The taskmasters was heavy. And he begin to bitterly cry to God. And when they did, God had a little boy born down there, a very peculiar birth, Moses.
You know the story of how he was put in the bulrushes, and the little ark was slimed and pitched. And Pharaoh's daughter raised him, or was supposed to be her foster child.
And when he come to the age of where he should be on the work of God, why... about forty years old, one day he went out and identified himself with Israel thinking surely that they ought to know that he was their deliverer.
And when he killed the Egyptian, slew him, the next day he found Hebrew brethren stroving amongst one another, and they discovered his sin and told him. And at this Moses fled into the wilderness, rejected of his brethren, just like Christ was rejected of His brethren.

24 And notice. Then Moses taken unto himself Zipporah, a wife... [Gap in the audio.] So one morning there, the pillar of fire came out of the heavens and dropped down into a bush. And Moses looked, and the bush was on fire, but the bush would not burn up.
God was doing all of this to attract the attention of Moses. And when God saw that Moses turned aside...
Oh, my. How today the church is in bondage of sickness. The church is crying, been crying for years for deliverance. Some of you old people here has cried to God for numbers of years, "God send the gifts back to the church." Have you done it? Many of you. Years ago, sent and prayed all night at a time.
And we're on the age of the march, I believe. We're ready. God's calling His church spiritual together. Just as all the church come together... The word church means "the called out."

25 Today we come through all kinds of dogmas and denominations. And each fellow having his own idea, "Look through my glasses and you'll see Him." But God has got to a place now that He's sick and tired of those things. And He's calling His people together in one accord, setting together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Christ coming down with them revealing Himself to them. Amen. Oh, my, I just love that: church spiritual, getting ready now.

26 All right. Notice now, that... Then when God spoke to him, attracted his attention by a pillar of fire that fell into a bush and begin to burn and pop, and burn.
Now, looks like if it was fire, it would've scorched the bush or burned it. But it was a supernatural fire who could burn the bush, and yet it would still be there. Amen.
I'm thankful tonight for a supernatural, the Holy Spirit, God's flame of fire, who could come down in the human heart, burn out all the sin, unbelief. Don't harm the person, but it purges him, make him grow greater, be stronger, more faith. And He comes tonight in that way.
He can come down into a human body, drive out the power of cancer, tumor, cataract, tuberculosis with fire, heavenly Holy Spirit fire falling from God out of heaven. Why, my, that's no mystery. If He can burn inbred sin out, how much more can He burn cancer out by the same Holy Spirit. Amen.
We've got witnesses on both sides. Men and women who were once sinners lost in sin, come to the world speaking lies, shaped in iniquity.

27 A harlot on the street, so immoral that hardly maybe a decent person would look at. The Holy Spirit can take that same woman and make a saint out of her, take the desire of sin from her.
When the religions of the world met here some forty years ago, little Dr. Magney represented the Holiness religion of America. When all Buddha had their say and so forth, their beauty, the different isms put forth their beauty and their flowers, and all their different flowery speeches, our little brother stood up. He told a story of a vile woman that lived in Oklahoma years ago who broke all the speed laws coming through the streets driving a carriage with a cigar in her mouth, a big gun on each side. And she killed so many men, and done so many bloody deeds until when the law caught her, they poured tar and feathers on her, and taken wires to kill her. They wouldn't want to get that close to her.
When he told the story with such a spiritual feelings to it until his audience was sitting on the ends of their seats, ready to hear what he had to say.
Then he said, "Gentlemen of the religions of this world, has your religion got anything that would clean the hands of this vile woman?" No one said nothing. Tears rolled down his cheeks, as he clapped his hands together, jumped up in the air, kicked his heels together, said, "The blood of Jesus Christ won't only clean her hands but will clean her heart." Hallelujah!
Yes, the blood of Christ won't only clean hands, but it'll clean the heart, make the vilest sinner a new person, purified, cleansed by the Holy Spirit, give them their inheritance that they lost long ago by the fall, put them in relationship with God to become sons and daughters. Amen. It's enough to stir the heart of anybody.

28 Just as sure then that Jesus rose from the grave, so will we. Them that are in Christ, there...
Then I seen Moses as he turns aside to look at the bush; he sees the fire burning. Then God seen He attracted Moses' attention. And when He did that, He said, "Take off your shoes, you're on holy ground."
Well, what if Moses said, "I'll just take off my hat?" That wouldn't work.
He said, "Shoes." That's right.
Somebody said, "I'll just join church, and that'll be just as good." He said you got to be born again. That's right. Join church is all right, but He said you got to be born again or you won't get into the kingdom of heaven. That's old-fashioned preaching, but it's the truth, brother. That's right. It'll make a new creature out of you.

29 All right. "Take off your shoes, come in respects; you're on holy ground." He seen this pillar of fire.
He said, "I've heard the cries of My people down in Egypt and the reasons of the taskmasters, and they're groaning and crying to Me all day and night. And I've come down to deliver them. And I'm going to send you down there now."
Oh, my. Deliverance on the road. Yes, sir. Just as soon as He gets an order, deliverance is there. He's setting the picture together now for a great drama.
I believe that God that lived in Moses' time is the same Jehovah today. And I believe now that the Holy Spirit has come upon the church, calling the people out, getting them ready. The word church means "called out." God's called out of every denomination a people, cleansing them from their sins, filling them with the Holy Spirit, setting them aside for service, for the great march is coming.

30 Just reminds me of here not long ago, I was asking them about the picture of "The Last Supper" (Someone give it to me recently.), of how the painting, the light in it. And it cost the man the lifetime that painted that picture.
Any famous picture, before it can be put in hall of fame, it has to go through all the critics first before it can be put in the hall of fame. And then after it's passed all the criticisms, and still can stand the test, then she's hung up in the hall of fame.
The little church, for years it's been pushed back. This is big words for a Baptist, but it's been pushed back, called holy-roller, a bunch of people that's crazy, acting foolish. That's right.
I know we got some impersonators. That's true. But we've got some genuine Holy Ghost material. Yes, we have. The devil will point you to the bad side every way. Lets the off-falls. Just remember, in there... She's been criticized and criticized, and pushed back.

31 As I said the other night, many times I look out and see these old dads out here and mothers who stood on the street corners and testified, when people would laugh at them and starve them to death, nearly. And here we come into big fine churches like this.
Why, I'm just running down the highway that you paved. That's true.
But brother, the little church has been pushed back and pushed back till after a while God has come down here in these last days. He sent the gifts, putting His church in order. She stood the criticism. They said, "Pentecost and holiness will die out," years ago. But it's becoming the greatest church there is on the face of the earth. Last year, nationally know, one million five hundred thousand conversions last year. Hallelujah!
What's the matter? The gifts are in her. Churches from everywhere is pleading to see it. Hallelujah! God's going to hang Her in the hall of fame.

32 One of these mornings, she'll go up in the air to meet the Lord after she's went through these hard tests. That's right. Great picture, persecuted, laughed at. But God's bringing Her out. She's held right on.
You cried for deliverance. Sickness broke out among you; diseases, cancers, blindness. That's the thing that's been harming the church. Then the church begin to cry, "O God, send the restoration of the gifts."
Oh, my. I hope you pardon this personal expression, but about a few years ago... I believe with all my heart, the same pillar of fire that came down in the burning bush, swept to this earth again. I believe It's in our midst tonight.
If God could do that, and bring deliverance in the days gone by in the church natural, so will He in church spiritual. And I believe tonight, that the same pillar of fire that led the children of Israel is here tonight leading the church spiritual now, delivering them. You can only be delivered by faith.

33 God went down there and told Moses, "Set yourself. Go down there and tell the people. I'll harden Pharaoh's heart, 'cause he don't believe."
And do--could you imagine, that how a man that rejects Light... When God went down there with Moses, it wasn't Moses; It was God. And God said, "I will send an Angel before thee to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee to the place that I have prepared." Is that right? And when the children of Israel seen this Angel, He was a pillar of fire. Is that right? Amen.
I'm just old-fashioned enough to believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That the same God, with the same power...

34 Now, when He appeared back there first, He was a whirlwind in a bush to me when He appeared. And I come as Moses of old to tell you not to follow me, follow Christ. Believe Him, that He's here to heal all the sick and the needy. Do you believe it? And I believe He's here to heal those who have need of Him, save those, put those in harness of God (Do you believe that?), send them out to be soul-winners and to preach the Gospel. How marvelous He is. How good.

35 Now, notice. In the old days, when God told Moses, "Now, you go, and I'll send an Angel before you to keep you in the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him. Obey His voice, for He will not pardon your transgressions, for My name is in Him." That Angel was the Angel of the covenant, which was Christ Jesus.
The people, many of them, did not believe it. Those who did not believe, perished. Those who did believe went on into the promised land. And the men who reject Light went into total darkness. And I believe today, those who reject the Holy Spirit in the Light of God, the days of miracles, and so forth, go out back into total darkness.
Did you see how Pharaoh's heart, how dark it got. He did not have nothing to do no more with the Israelites. He showed them no favor, because he hardened his heart against the Light. And men who harden their heart against the Light walk in darkness. Amen.

36 Time's up. Brother, sister, in the name of our Lord, please get me right now. What am I trying to say to you? That God who came out in the old days, and led the church of God out of the--Egypt, the bondage into freedom, has come down again in the same manner to lead His church spiritual out of bondage of sin first, by the Holy Spirit, sickness next, and the third step is to go into glory: take this mortal and make it immortality, the transfiguration of the human bodies, to transform them into the perfect image of the Son of God.
Please, believe with all your heart. I can't make no one believe. I can only... I can only speak what I--my convictions is to be truth. And if I speak the truth, surely God will confirm the truth and will heal the sick and the needy.

37 Now, as I pray for the sick, I want each one of you out there to be--to be aware of this: That the Holy Spirit is right out over this audience tonight to heal anybody that's in the audience.
Now, this may be a little different from what you seen of brethren pray for the sick. I can only do as God tells me to do. I can only say as He says for me to do. And if I tell the truth, then God will testify that I've told the truth.
Now, what I'm afraid of is this, dear friends. What I'm afraid of, as it was back there, it'll have to be that way. Because when our Mast... when Moses came, many refused Moses because he was a man. When Jesus came, many of them refused Jesus because He was a man: Said, "Him being a man make Himself equal with God."
Now, He was God manifested in the flesh. So there'll never be a man like Him on earth. That's right. There'll never be a man like Him.
But He ordained certain things to be done. And then, it's so hard sometimes for people to see that, because a man said so. He said, "I'll do a work in the last days; though a man bring it, they will not believe it." That's right. He... That's the Scripture. How many knows that's Scripture? He'd do... "though a man would bring it, speak it."
Now, it's hard. The hardest thing that God has ever gotten to do--or had to do, was to get one mortal to believe another. You'd believe anything almost, but a one person believing another. That's a hard thing.
And I've... I have just taught this. For years I've tried... Ever since I've been out to stand back and try to keep out of the picture, just as much as I possibly could, so they would see the Lord Jesus. See? Stand back...
And I want you now to look to what I'm pointing to, not because I'm telling you this: That the Angel of the Lord...
How many's seen the picture of It back there at the counter? Let's see your... You should see it. I wished I could afford to get them--and give them every one to you. Just about cost us what we got on there. And we'll be glad if you can get it. We just a very few of them left that we have.

38 But first they had it so copyrighted and everything till we couldn't even touch it by no means. But I got a hold of it. And there, they was charging so much for it and everything, till they made thousands times thousands of dollars out of it, over there in Houston and around. And then when I got a hold of it myself, myself, I let it back to the people just at the cost.
First I was afraid to touch it. There is the same supernatural Being.
I say this as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, fearing God, knowing that someday I must stand before Him in His presence to give an account for every word that I've said on this earth. I realize that. And I may be wrong. And if I am wrong, Almighty God forgive me, for I don't mean to be that way.
But awhile ago when I made a personal, just a little personal saying about myself, about ten people got up and walked out. Well, there it is. If people were concerned about your soul, friends, you'd set down and solve the thing through, and not be so cut and dried in your own ideas. Someone's got to go to heaven, and someone's going the other way. So I guess there you are. "They have ears but they can't hear, eyes and they can't see. Is that right?

39 Now, I want you to know that that Angel of God is no more to do with me that It is to do with you. That It's an Angel sent down from heaven. And if you don't believe Angels are ministering Spirits sent from the presence of God, then you don't know the Bible. Yes, sir.
Someone said, "Brother Branham, angels is only for the Old Testament."
Why, that's a error. The new church had more angels ministerings than what the Old Testament did. Yes, sir.
Well they said, "The Holy Ghost leads the church."
That's correct. The Holy Ghost is over all. This is the body. And it's true. But there's also ministering Spirits sent from the presence of God. We know that Mary and all those, they seen angels. And we know the new church seen angels.

40 How about, you say, "Do you believe Philip had the Holy Ghost? Philip the evangelist?" After the Pentecost, he had the Holy Ghost, didn't he? But who was it told him to go out to the desert at Gaza? The Angel of the Lord came down (Is that right?) when he was having that revival at Samaria.
Peter had the Holy Ghost. Do you believe that? And while they was having a prayer meeting for him at John Mark's house, the Angel of the Lord... What was it? A Light shined in the window. And the Angel of the Lord touched him and dropped the shackles off of him, and put him outside of the building. Is that right? And Peter had the Holy Ghost. Is that right?
Paul the apostle had the Holy Ghost. Do you believe it?
But after fourteen days, after no sun, moon, stars, Paul was absence for a long space down, the galley, praying. And he came out on the deck and said, "Be of a good cheer, for the Angel of God, whose servant I am, appeared to me last night and told me what things would be. And I believe God. It'll be just as He showed me." Is that right?

41 The whole book of Revelations was showed John by an Angel. "I, Jesus, have sent My Angel to testify." Is that right?
So angels are ministering Spirits, usually come in the form of lights.
And I truly, personally, as I started to say awhile ago, with my Bible over my heart, I believe that the Angel of God... I've seen It since I was a little boy. In that little cabin they I told me He come in, that you seen the picture that the lady drawed last night, of a little cabin where I was born.
That doesn't make me even equal with the church, or the people. That's right. It isn't the idea today, who's great and who's not great. The idea of it today is to get people to believe the Lord Jesus.

42 Now, God always works through man. Man is God's agency. Do you believe that? Jesus said, "As you have believed in God, believe also in Me." Now, the people that believed in God crucified Him. Is that right? thinking they were doing God's service.
Now, I want to be honest with you. I think and believe that... The only way I can see that God sent His Angel down. I've seen It many times. I've ... it's... I happened to be borned at that time, or somehow to... God just had mercy upon me and give me the privilege of taking this out.
And that doesn't mean even I'll be saved. I may be lost, maybe lost at that day. If I am, I'll love Him no matter where I am. If I've got a conscious of Him, I'll still love Him if He turns me down. I'll love Him with all my heart.

43 Now, I believe He sent His same Angel. I have seen It. I've told people. Hundreds of Christians seen It come down visibly before ten thousand people one day when I was baptizing. They looked at it and seen it; the papers carried articles of it. Said it looked like a star appearing over a Baptist minister while baptizing at Jeffersonville.
I seen it up there near Fort Wayne, Indiana, that night when I was standing there. And it come right down through the building. I was praying for a little boy, crippled. And there was a Nazarene girl playing the piano there, "The Great Physician Now Is Near." And I was praying for the little boy. And I thought the custodian turned the light in my face. And I thought, "That's ill-mannered." I looked up, and here come that whirl of fire, going, "Whheww." Come right to me where I was at
I dropped the little boy, or he jumped out of my arms, or something. His little feet was drawed down by polio. And his--he hit the floor, and his little feet become normal. I'll give you the mother's address and those that... There he started walking off. His mother fainted when she seen the little lad. The Angel of the Lord was still near.

44 The Nazarene girl looked up. And when she seen what had happened, she jumped up from the piano right away, and her hair fell down. She begin screaming and shouting, and the piano played the song completely through, "The great Physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus. He speaks to drooping hearts to cheer, no...
There seventeen hundred people rushed to the altar, giving their hearts to Christ when they seen the ivory keys of that piano moving back and forth, the "Great Physician Now Is Near." I tell you: God's still God.
Here at Camden not long ago, when I was trying my best to explain to the people. They were setting starchy. Down through the audience, I said, "I will not have to speak farther. Here He comes now." Here He come down through the audience, whirling around. A minister from California by the name of Adams up here, rushed to me. The Light was so, he stopped and shut his eyes, like that. And a photographer setting close took the picture. There it is in my book.

45 Then down at Houston, Texas, when a ... own... Right in my own faith, the Baptist church, a minister discussing before many many thousands of people there in a big stadium. They was all discussing. This minister said, "I'd like to see that miracle worker. I like to see him," just acting smart.
And Doctor Bosworth, he was the manager at that time, said, "I know Brother Branham's in here." I was up in balcony thirty. He said, "If he wants to come down and dismiss the audience, all right."
When I walked down, I said, "Brethren, I only testify for the truth. I am not a divine healer." I said, "My literature is published practically in every language under heaven; I've spoke direct or indirect to around five or six million people. And never did I ever say that I was a divine healer. But to the contrary, I said Jesus Christ is the only Healer there is." I said, "He has sent me with signs and wonders," I said, "which is infallible. I can prove that tonight." I said, "That's infallible. And if I speak the truth, God will testify of me. If I speak not the truth, He will have nothing to do with me."
And about that time from heaven, here He come whirling down where I was at before thirty thousand people. There it whirled down.

46 And a photographer who had been hired, on the American Photographer's Association, come there to take six pictures of the man that was holding the debate--by the enemy. He snapped six pictures of him. And they asked all of them, the Look, Life, and Time, and them reporters to get back, take no pictures because they sell them. And this man run forward and shot a picture of it. And that night...
He was an Orthodox Jew. The other man that was with him was a Roman Catholic. They took the picture home, put it in the acids to develop it. And to find out... And when they brought it out, my enemy's picture... Not my enemy, I wouldn't say that. He was an enemy of Christ, saying that he did ... even denied healing of Christ. He said, "Lazarus died, and Jesus is supposed to rise him again," said, "then he died again."
He said, "When this corruption puts on incorruption, this mortal put on immortality."
Dr. Bosworth said, "I believe every word of that. But we're talking about divine healing, the earnest of our salvation. That's what we're speaking of. If there's no divine healing, there's no redemption of the body. We have the earnest, the down payment of our salvation now." Amen.

47 Notice. And then when the man pulled out those six pictures of the minister that was debating that the divine healing, and I was a devil and so forth. Every one of them was solid black and blank. There's his name and address. Send to the American Photographers Association and find out.
When he pulled out the one he snapped, there was the Angel of God's picture whirling around where I was at. The first time in all the world's history that a supernatural Being was ever photographed.
It was rushed to Washington, DC, copyrighted, sent back and give to George J. Lacy, J. Edgar Hoover, examiner. They kept it two days at the Shell Building in Houston.
And when he come over there, and they all set out there together to find out what it was all about, he said, "Whose name is Branham?"
I said, "Mine, sir."
He said, "Stand up." He looked, said, "Mr. Branham, you'll die like all mortals do. But as long as there's a Christian civilization, your picture will never die." He said, "Because it's the first time in all the world's history that a supernatural Being was ever photographed." He said, "The old hypocrite has always said, "They... Scientifically, you can't prove there is a God." But said, "That has to be changed now, for here's scientifically... The Angel of God was there, and the Light struck the negative." There it was. There he signed ... wrote out a big document, signed his name to it. There it is right back there. You can look at it yourself. There's the Angel of the Lord.

48 Brother, sister, if I don't come here tomorrow night, and you never see me again unless I'm in a casket somewhere, I still say that God has testified that I've told the truth. The Church knows it by signs and wonders; the scientist knows it by scientific research. And this same... I believe that's the same pillar of fire that followed the children of Israel. It's not me; it's Him. He can fail to come tonight. I have nothing to do with it. It's your faith that believes that it brings it down here to this present tense. Hallelujah.
Don't think I'm excited. I'm not. I know what I'm speaking about.
The Angel of God on the water of the pool of Bethesda, it was not the water that done the healing; it was the Angel that was on the water, and the faith of the people that stepped into it.
Jesus said, "I can do nothing in Myself, but what the Father showeth Me to do... Whatever I seeth the Father doeth, that doeth the Son likewise."

49 It's your faith. God has to have some sort of an object. He sent His Word. You... That's the real foundation there, the Word. Then He finds out that people has misconstrued it and set it this way and that way. Then when He sees the end drawing nigh, the time for deliverance again, He sends an Angel down out of heaven that verifies it, proves it scientifically to the church by the witness today. If Jesus should come today, the world is without an excuse. Amen. He's here.
Someone said, "Brother Branham, aren't you afraid to make such statements as that?" No, sir. I've stood before tens of thousands, critics setting everywhere. I've never seen a time but what God always brought the deliverance. I've seen the critics come.
A hypnotizer once was going to come to hypnotize [unclear words]. Yeah, what the... And the man's paralyzed yet tonight. That's right. Said, "You child of the devil, why do you try to deceive God?"One come to the platform one time, making out something; a minister of a certain church. His sins was called out, and he fell on the platform. We're not living in the days of playing church; we're living in the days when Jesus Christ is making Himself manifest to His church, to prove through His Word that He might be fulfilled. 50 I'm thankful to be alive tonight. I'm thankful for the privilege to witness for my Lord, the power of His resurrection. Yes. And if no one in the world ever believes it but myself, I believe it with all my heart.
But I'm thankful to give witness to tens of thousands, yes, into the millions that believe it, and believes. And I believe that God's going to let me live to pack it until all around the world it's been circulated. I believe when I get into those dark lands of Africa over there, where those poor people that's deprived and set back, I believe there'll be literally thousands times thousands of them accept our Lord Jesus when they see His power, and feeling the sweetening in different places. When they see them miracles raise up and tell the people, even when they're speaking their own language and tell them what it was, and it'd perfect every time. They'll fall by the hundreds at the altar and repent of their sins: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.

51 Let's bow our heads. Our heavenly Father, oh, my heart gets warm, real warm. The old world is judgment ripened. It won't be long till it'll be over. But oh, Father, while the hour of visitation is here, grant that Your children will see Lord, quickly. May great faith be built, translating faith, great faith that'll just make the people be ready for the great translation.
Now, there's sick in here tonight, Lord. They're needy. Help. May that great pillar of fire that's showed there in the picture... Lord... That that I feel moving in my soul now, quietening these nerves from... I believe, Lord, that You're here to make manifest that what I've said. Grant tonight that Your people will be caught away on the wings of faith, flying beyond this faltery sense-bound world, bound to their senses. Grant, tonight, that they'll break out into that realm of faith beyond the senses, and accept You, and believe, and walk from this building, and be made well. Grant it, Lord. For we ask it in the name of Thy Son Jesus. Amen.

52 You love Him? Honestly, tomorrow night I'll try to get just a little earlier. I love you, and you got such a respond out there. I don't get a chance every often to push my soul out like that and feel good. I just get a great big loving something out of it. I just...
Last time when I was here, Brother Baxter was here and preaching hard. And I just wanted to talk to you so much, I just... I started preaching one Sunday, and the Holy Spirit caught me away. And the first thing I knowed, I was... Somebody had me outside. And I never did get to finish up. So I thought, "Oh, I'd just like to get a hold of that audience sometime and set them for a few days like that till we build up to a certain place like that, to a climax."
I believe God will sweep over this building. May He grant it, and just heal every person in here before this service is over. Oh, I want to see it so bad.

53 Right here where Mrs. McPherson went down, Paul Rader went down, great warriors of faith has went down here. O God, let me do it too, is my prayer. Let me stand here. Let me bring that faith that they've taught to a realization to the people, where it'll be a citywide sweep everywhere. Then men and women will realize that the great Physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus. Yes. That's what I want to do.

54 Over on the East Coast, they're always hollering to me, "Why you going to the West Coast." Everybody pulls out to Los Angeles. Maybe that's God's place. That's right. Right here is probably where judgment will strike. And that's right. Let's get ready. My, this will probably be the first place it'll be hit, right in here. O church, hold to God's unchanging hand. Pray.
How many will pray this week that I'll see my prayer answered, that God will sweep us something over this building that'll heal everyone that's in the Divine Presence.
I seen it one time in Vandalia, Illinois. Is anybody here was at the Vandalia meeting that night, when that great claps fell down in the meeting like that? And every wheelchair, every stretcher, every blind person, every deaf, dumb, every one of them was perfectly healed, plumb to the end of our audience. They just piled the things in the corners like that, twenty or thirty of them in the corner. And God, how He worked.
I want to see it again. God, grant it in California, is my prayer. There's one of the great feelings of me to returning back again. I want to see it.

55 I love Paul Rader. Oh, I was a little boy, set at his feet back there when he was teaching. He preached. I remember one of his sermons he preached when he was in some land, and oh, what taken place. And he's setting on the log, saying, "I'm riding on it; I'm riding on it." He had malaria fever, or something or other, done blacked out and God healed him, and he believed it.
I'm standing in his platform tonight. O God, have mercy. Yes. May God grant the great healing.
Now, let's call the prayer line. Where'd we call from last night? One? All right. Where... How... Did you give out what today?
All right, let's start somewhere over, let's get 80, start from 80 tonight. What you--what's the letter? S, S-80, 80 to 90, that'll be eleven. Let's try them first. You here now which crippled in the wheelchairs and things, well you just keep watching and look this a-way and if you've got a prayer card hold it up. I don't see but about two or three with prayer cards. Watch the different ones now in these chairs and things, line up quickly now.
Let's sing if you will, "A Great Physician Now Is Near." Oh, let's everyone believe that He's going to show Himself tonight, before the audience. If you'll just give me a few minutes, and everybody be reverent now, just a few minutes now.
Oh Father, help me. Do Lord, speaking now, the hour is getting late. But I pray God that your Angel will anoint Thy servant like never before. Grant it Lord, that these next few minutes, grant there'll be more healings done as ever been done here in the last revival that I had, Lord. Grant it, in Jesus' name, I pray.

Everyone be just as reverent as you can. This brother says he's drove five hundred miles. His daughter's dying in Pasadena with a cancer. And said, "Oh, have mercy, have mercy."
Dear Jesus, please. The meeting's just starting now. Grant Lord, that just now that the same Angel that came into the prison bars where Peter was laying bound with his feet and hands. He couldn't get up, and he was going to be killed the next day. But down at John Mark's house, they were praying. And then the Angel shined through the window, and Peter was delivered.
Grant just now that the Angel that I have spoke of, the Angel of God will shine into that hospital where that woman's laying bound by that demon. May his power be broken. May she be delivered as Peter of old, be brought out of the hospital and turned free to serve the Lord. Hear the prayer of Your humble servant as we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
God bless you, my brother. Go now. And as you believe, God is going to grant it to you. Amen.

57 All right, bring your patient. Have faith now. You believe do you, dad? You believe? Let me hear from her. Let me hear from you. Amen. He feels His presence now, believes that God has done the works. How many believe with me now? That's right.
Now, it's late. And if everyone will be just as reverent as you can for a few minutes now... Don't stir if you possibly can for a few minutes. The anointing is great upon me just now.
Look friends, I'm telling you from my heart (See?), just as sincere as I can: The Angel of the Lord's here now. The Angel that I speak of, the One that's there on the picture, is right here now. That is right.
Believe now. I want to talk to the people. You be just reverent. Believe with all your heart that God will grant it. Maybe the people get even healed without discerning their conditions to see what's wrong with them. Everybody reverent please.

58 Now, good evening, mother. It's kind of shook me just a little too, and I want to kind of quieten myself as I talk to you. You love Him? Do you love Him with all your heart? With all your heart? Yes, ma'am. Been serving Him for some time too, haven't you? Since a little child, a little girl [unclear words]. It started [unclear words] condition. Come a long ways, and now you're bothered with a nerve trouble, isn't that right, sister? Yes, sir. You've been... You've tried everywhere, tried to have... You've had many specialists to look at you, haven't you, to see if they... No one knows what causes it. Is that right? That's right. All right. This what is speaking now knows what it is.
Our Heavenly Father, be merciful to this mother. As she's standing here, she wants to be healed. She's sought many doctors, but none can do her any good. Like the woman with the blood issue, she'd done many things, and spent all of her living with doctors; none could heal her. But she said within her heart, "If I can touch His garment, I'll be made whole." And this woman has been to many doctors, as I seen them examine her, and see them shake their head, and telling her get next to herself; as she witnessed back on this microphone that it was so.
Grant, Lord, Your blessings upon her. Poor thing, she wants to live. She's getting aged. But You appeared to Abraham when he was a hundred. And You give him a promise, and he believed You for twenty-five years before it come to pass. But he counted those things which were not as though they were, and You rewarded him. Age means nothing to You, Father. You're divine. You're the Creator. Help me to have faith for her, seeing her there many times being prayed for in a prayer lines. But O Eternal God, hear the prayer of Your servant tonight, give her relief at this time, and she'll believe You.
Thou demon, oh, you've hid from the doctors, true. But you can't hide from God. Come out of the woman in the name of Jesus Christ.
Raise up your hand. Say, "Praise the Lord." Go on off the platform; you're well.

All right, bring the lady. God healed her. That is right. Do you believe me as God's prophet? You want to be healed? Forget about being nervous; you're already healed, sister. God has made you well in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless you. Let's say "Praise the Lord," everybody. Amen.
A usher caught it too, down there. See? All right. Everybody reverent. All right, bring the lady. Come quickly. Believe on the Lord. Now, He's here in a great power. You remember, they led the lady to the platform. There she goes, walking out. Everyone reverent, believing.

How do you do, sister. Do you believe me as God's prophet? With all your heart? You want to get rid of... What you want to bel... You want to get rid of your arthritis, don't you? Raise up your hands and say, "Praise the Lord." Now, jump your feet up. Now, go off the platform believing with all your heart, and you'll be healed. Say, "Praise the Lord." That's what He's trying to get you to praise Him for.

Yes, you've got stomach trouble, haven't you? Peptic ulcers in the stomach. Go home and eat what you want to [unclear words].

61 All right, bring your next patient. Everybody, reverent. Have faith. Here stands faith by my side. You believe, don't you, mother? You want to be healed? All right, forget you ever had a cancer. God just healed you of it. Go off the platform and say, "Praise the Lord."
Let's say, "Praise the Lord," everybody. That's the way to believe the Lord. Have faith.
Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Is that right? "If they lay their hands on the sick they shall recover." Is that right? If I lay my hands on you, would you be healed of arthritis? Go, and as you have received, believe it in the name of the Lord Jesus. All right. Amen.

An old mother setting here in a wheelchair. She's happy about the rest of them being healed, aren't you, mother? You're trying to have faith, aren't you? I see your conditions. You--you're--you've been paralyzed, haven't you? Is that right? On the right side mainly. You've got a paralytic stroke. You're suffering with a gallbladder trouble too, aren't you? You have a gallbladder, kind of a nervous condition. Now, if you'll believe with all your heart... Now, just have faith.
There's somebody behind right there setting there, pulling in on the same thing. I'm... Just see what was wrong. I see it coming. Just keep praying just for a minute.

62 All right, everybody believe. Come on, now. Bring your patient right quick. Everybody reverent now. Now, keep praying, sister, looking this way. You do this: you look and believe that God has told... This is the truth that what I'm telling you now. Do you believe it? Have faith now.
How do you do, sister. You believe with all your heart? Do you believe our Lord Jesus is here to make you well? Now, we're perfect strangers, aren't we, sister? Now, just a minute. I want to talk to you just a little bit. I feel it shaking. Maybe I want to talk to you, just to see what the Lord will say. Do you love Him with all your heart? Are you conscious of this Something near now, aren't you? You know that there's Something near that's taking place. Now, that is the Spirit of God.

63 You're have a... You're worrying about something. You're bothered, upset. And it's not--it's nervous for one thing. You're real nervous, aren't you? kind of a mental nervousness, kind of causing you to--oh, have all kinds of funny feelings and so forth. Isn't that true? Then that mainly works on you in the afternoon, along late in the evening when you get tired and run down. And you... That has caused a trouble. Now, if I can just get to it. Just keep praying now, just a minute. It's... That's what's caused your trouble. It's from a nerve condition.
Now, I want you just to remember that I'm talking with you just as Jesus talked with the woman at the well. And this, sister, this is what's standing near is not your... This is your brother. But that what's speaking, and on your heart is the Spirit of God. Do you believe that?
Oh, yes. I see what's your trouble. You have a tumor, don't you? That's right. Isn't it a tumor? That's right. Do you believe that God's going to heal you? In the name of Jesus Christ, receive your healing.

64 Let us say, "Praise be to God," wonderful. All right.
Bring the ladies together, right quick. Come, sister. All right, now everyone reverent just for a few moments now. And we...
Now, sister, I want you to look this a way, so I can kind of get it to talking just a little to you. Now, sometimes, it depends on how long you talk to the person, how it reveals. I have to come in contact with you. Sometimes I look around people with great faith, and just speak what's wrong with them, and quickly they get healed. But I'm trying to fight that off now, you see, to see just what is going to take place.
Now, do you believe me as God's servant. Do you believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ has sent me to pray for the sick? And if I would--should lay my hands upon you, you believe that that which you're now feeling coming this--between you and I now is the Spirit of God? You believe that with all your heart?
All right, sister, you've suffered quite awhile with what's wrong with you. You've been prayed for before. You've been in lines, had prayer. You had prayer at home for it. You're suffering with a heart trouble. Isn't that right? Yes, sir; it's a nervous heart. Now, I... You believe that God will make you well if I'll ask Him? Come here.
O Jesus, now realizing this number one enemy takes more people than anything else, You sent Your delivering Angel to deliver the people. In the name of Jesus Christ, may our sister be healed.
God bless you, sister. You may go and rejoicing, happy. Say, "Praise the Lord."

65 All right, come ahead, lady. All right, everybody reverent. Do you
believe, sister? I want you to look this a way now. Have faith. Believe in God with all your heart. What do you think about all this? Think it's wonderful? Do you believe it's the Spirit of the Lord? Do you believe that that what you feel now is the Spirit of the Lord?
I see down in your paths it's been shadowed, hasn't it? many shadows.
Now, everyone reverent. Now, it's just... It's kind of... I don't see just exactly for the sister now. Remember, friends, I have to see this. This has to come. I'm trying not to touch her body. If I touch her body, in a moment It would probably tell me what was wrong. But I'm trying to do it by seeing, to see if I can see a vision (You see?) just before it happens. Everyone believe. How many believes that God's able to do this through His servant? All right. Now, Satan's trying to battle me here. Just a moment.

66 I want you to just to--just look this way, sister, and believe. I want just to talk to you just a moment. I...
You're truly made up your mind that this is truly God's way of healing you. Is that right? You believe it with all your heart. You're nervous, aren't you, sister? You're very nervous now. Now, you can't... You feel that Something strange around you. That ain't--That isn't going to hurt you. That's the thing that'll heal you, if you're ever healed. Because I believe It's the Lord Jesus. I feel...
Yes, it's in your... You got kidney trouble, haven't you? And it's in your back. That's right. All right, come here and be healed.
O God, Author of Life, have mercy upon this woman, before she gets this uremic poison and kills her, Lord. Satan's determined to send this woman to a premature grave. But Lord, I come tonight in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Satan, turn the woman loose. In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke thee. Amen.
You believe? Go rejoicing and be happy.

67 Let us say, "Praise the Lord," everybody.
All right, bring the lady. All right, everybody reverent just a moment. Come forward, mother. I see someone on a crutch here. I'm... Now wait, maybe It'll tell just what caused her that to be crippled. Just a moment so that you will see that the Holy Spirit works on the crippled the same as It does on any. Now, I can't heal the woman. God knows that. But I can, by the grace of God, by this gift, I can tell her what's wrong with her, and what's caused it and so forth. That's right.
Now, I could stand here and pray for you till I got to be a real old man. It would never heal you. But you can't stand here without me telling you what's wrong with you and what's in your heart. Because that's the gift that God give to me. That's to my--to work with it as God will let me. And... But now to heal, Jesus is already done that.

68 Now, I'm going to talk with the lady. Now, mother, I want you to believe with all your heart that our Lord Jesus is here. Now, we're strangers, aren't we, mother? We've never met in life. We're strangers. And never... And now, do you believe that by the grace of God, I'll be able to help you through prayer? You believe it, and you believe that what I ask Him, He will grant to me? Now, if I asked you... If I... You know we're... I know nothing about you; it's just... No, I don't know nothing about you. But I'm trying to speak with you.
You're human, mother; you got a spirit that I have got to contact also by this gift. And as your faith pulls it down, It comes over me and speaks Itself. See? It's not me operating; it's you. You see? You're the one that's doing the operating.
Now, I'm... I just... The talking to you. Do you love Him with all your heart? With all your heart? With all your heart. God bless you, my sister. God grant you a closer walk with Him, mother. Yes, mother, isn't that cane that's bothering you; you have cancer. Isn't that right? It's cancer. That's why you're weak on it. Is that right? Come here and be healed.
Our heavenly Father, help our dear sister. O merciful Father, grant the healing of our sister.
Thou demon called cancer, in the Name of Jesus Christ, leave the woman. Come out of her.
Believe now, mother. Put your old cane on your shoulder and walk on out of the building [unclear words].

There was something shook me at that time when I called that cancer. There's... Now, just a moment. If I can find it in the audience... Everyone reverent now. The little boy, I see you got a prayer card in your hand, honey. Now, just a moment. Look this...
It's not cancer there. Just... Here it is. It's a lady laying on the cot here. Isn't that right, sister? You believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and God will heal you of the cancer. You've had it for a long time, haven't you, sister? Been bothering you for years. Isn't that right? I see a long space of darkness. Isn't that right, dad? Do you believe she can be healed? With all your heart you do? Mother, do you believe it?
Now, look. I'm going to tell you your trouble. Here's your trouble. You belong to church. That's right. But you're not as far along in God as you ought to be. You want... Isn't that right? You're trying to have faith. You belong to a certain denominational church. Isn't that right? I could call it right now, but... You wish for me to call it? Would that help you? I believe, if I'm not mistaken, it's the Methodist church you belong to, either Methodist or... It's the Methodist church, and I... Is that right? All right.
You believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and He will heal you of that cancer right now where you're at. Amen. Amen. Believe it. Accept it. Raise up. Throw your clothes back. Walk out of the building and be healed, and go home. God bless that woman. God heals Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian.
She's standing up to accept her healing. Out of the crutch--out of the cot.

Honey, you're setting there, a mighty sweet little boy. I want you to stand up just a minute. I want you to look at Brother Branham. Do you believe me, honey? You do. Well bless your little heart. Now, I've never met you in my life. I don't know who you are, nor nothing. But I want you to look this way, and I want you to... Do you believe if our Lord Jesus was here... Do you remember when He took up little boys like you and blessed them? and said, "Suffer little children to come to Me." Didn't He? Well now, if He was here tonight, what would He do for you? He would heal you, wouldn't He?

70 I want you to lay your prayer card down there in the seat. I want you to come up here to me. Something's wrong with him. There's too many pulling right in there. I can't find out what it is. If I can get the little fellow here by myself.
Come here, little boy. Now, I want you to look this a way. A fine little boy... Yes, honey boy. It's a rupture (Is that right?) in the rectal, I believe. Is that right? A rectal trouble... All right, little boy, come here. Jesus has gone up to heaven, but He sent Brother Branham to lay hands upon you. Do you believe that?
Father, I obey the commandments of my Lord, that this boy will get well from this trouble. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask it. Amen. God bless you, honey boy.

71 What's you looking so strangely about, sister? You're wanting to be prayed for, don't you? You're trying to get... You said in your heart, "If I could get up there, I'll be healed." Is that right? Lay your prayer card down and come here. Yes, ma'am. That's right. Come around here just a minute. Good faith.
The reason I'm bringing her up here is because she wants to come. It's in her heart to come. She just wants me to touch her. She's already healed. She wants me to come touch her.
Wasn't that a very strange feeling come over you when you--I said that to you? Come here just a minute. Now, your female trouble is gone, sister. You can go off the platform rejoicing. Serve the Lord now with all your heart.

72 Let us say, "Praise the Lord." The colored sister setting there. She wants to be healed too, don't you sister, sitting there on the end there. All right, stand up on your feet. All right. You want to be over that nervousness, don't you? Isn't that right? Raise up your hands, say, "Praise the Lord," and be over it. God heals you now. Amen.
Let's say, "Praise the Lord." How many believes with all your heart? Stand up on your feet. Let's be healed, every one of you.
O Jesus, Son of God, heal... Every one... I just touched a little baby with eczema broke out on a rash for God to heal it.
Lay your hands on one another there, you people. Lay your hands over on each another. That's right.
O God, have mercy just now. Heal those that's in need. May the Holy Spirit fall upon this audience just now, and heal every one of them. Satan turn them people loose. In the name of Jesus Christ, I adjure thee to leave them.

1 Thank you much. Good evening, friend. I'm happy to hear that testimony, always, of where our Lord has done something for some of His children. May God bless you, sister, whoever you are. 2 When I was speaking to you, or whatever happened, you believed what I said was the truth. Did it come out just the way I said it would? Just like I said. If that's true, raise up your hand so you can see. See? Now, what if you'd have doubted what I had told you the Lord had said? You'd have died, yes, ma'am, as your doctor said. You've got to believe one or the other. And God never can tell anything wrong; He always tells the truth. Well, God bless you, sister. And if I don't meet you no more in this life, I will at the other side, by God's grace. Amen.
I'd like to set down with all my friends on the other side, and just talk it over, where we have plenty of time to talk it over by it.

3 Now, tonight, I... It's awfully warm. Brother Baxter... Last evening it was just so hot, and we was... When I got home my coat was wringing all over, and after I kind of got to myself, after the service was over. I'm not in very good condition for a while. I'm getting awful weak, but I've just got two more meetings now, before a little rest, and going overseas, then we'll have about two or three nights in New York City at some big boxing place there, where they have them big fights. I... We got to appear there, for two or three nights, just before going to Southern Rhodesia, Africa, to begin.

4 If the good Lord willing, we hope to be in Jerusalem around Christmas. And those Jews has said to come up, many of them, as you've seen the Look Magazine. They said, "If this Jesus be the Christ..." They never knowed nothing about it, see. They were down in that--there for two thousand years. They still plow with old wooden plows, like they did two thousand years ago. Many of you read the article.
And the Norwegian church, and the Swedish church sent out a million Bibles, New Testaments, and those Jews reading the New Testament, said, "Let us see this Jesus do the sign of a prophet, and we'll accept Him as Messiah." Oh, I hope God let's me go down there and do something that they'll believe on the Lord Jesus, every one of them. I trust that He will. And you pray for me, when you know it's time for me to be there in October. We begin on October the 4th, at Johannesburg.

5 And now, being that it's so hot in the auditorium, and it's the time of year, it's the only thing we could get, and we're happy to have it. I'm only glad that we got this, or we couldn't have come to the city. But I trust that it'll prove to be a great blessing to all of you that's here. And may many of the sinners be saved, and the Christians have a closer walk with our Lord, is my desire. And may all the sick be healed, and all the cripples be healed, is my prayer.
I seen one time in my life, where every person in the building, or in the... It was a large tent which consists of many more than what's here tonight, at one wave of the Holy Spirit came through the tent, just as I walked to the platform, and there wasn't a crippled or afflicted person left in the building, no sick people or nothing, they was everyone healed [unclear words]. They piled up wheelchairs, and things so high, they just have to take them and throw them up like that, to get them up.

6 The next morning, going down through the city, was a great, big cattle truck packing all of them, and the people that once set in them, and laid on their cots and things, walking behind, singing "Only Believe," with a police escort. I stood in the window of the hotel, I wept like a child. I couldn't help it. My heart, I just thought.. "O Jesus, the same yesterday, today, and for ever." That was it. And they can be the same thing here at Toledo. The only thing it lacks is just a little faith. You just believe; just believe what you hear.
Now, I try to speak to the best of my knowledge, all that I know how, to glorify Jesus Christ, Who has redeemed us all, redeemed from everything that the fall consists of. He came as a kinsman Redeemer to redeem the human race back to God. And we have the earnest of our salvation. This that we have now, this glorious Holy Spirit, is only the earnest of our being above sin in the rapture.

7 And if there is no divine healing now, there is no resurrection of the body. Divine healing is the earnest of our redeemed body. Did you ever think of that? If there's no divine healing, then when you go at the grave, that's all of it. You'll be there forever, and your dust will go away, and there'll be no more of you, see. If there... We have the earnest of our salvation, and completeness, back the way we was in the garden of Eden.
And I think that the power of God that would take a cancer-ridden woman here, that the doctor's has just given a few days, and she's one of the thousands that's on records, not just the man, the person's testimony, but the doctors testimony, one of the thousands. And her eaten up (with a few hours to live), by cancer, and by the earnest of her redeemed body will put her in the condition it is now, what will it be when she draws the full value off of the resurrection of Jesus Christ? That's just the down... You know what the down... the earnest is? The earnest is the down payment on anything that holds it, a surety, secures it. Now, she's just got the earnest of it by being healed with a hideous cancer, that would've taken her life, and here she is setting well and normal.

8 Now, if there never was another case besides hers, that would be a perfect evidence of the divine will of our Lord Jesus Christ to every person on earth, see. For He never just picked out certain ones, it's "Whosoever will, let him come." See? It's just according to your faith to believe.
And now, for a few moments, and I will try not to keep you like I did last night, and let you get so awfully stuffy in the building. Now, I want to continue to speak about our Lord in His ministry today.
Now, there's many people in the Bible that teaches the Bible as a historical book, which It is. But it's more than a history, it's a prophetic book also, that foretells... It tells what was; it tells what will be. Do you accept that to be truth? And now, the same Jesus that was, is, and will be... See? He's the same Jesus all the way through the Scriptures, the same Christ, all the way through. In the beginning, He was, in the middle of the book, He's here: "Lo, I come: in the volume of the book to do Thy will, O Lord." And in the end, He's "Alpha, Omega, the beginning, the ending, He which was, which is, and shall come, the root and offspring of David, the morning star, the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valley." Why, He's just... That's just Him, isn't it? He's Emmanuel. He's the both the root and offspring of David, see.

9 Now, His ministry carries on. Many people teaching the Bible as a history--history (which is very fine), that we learned in our seminaries and schools, which is fine. But brother, that's just what was; what about what's now? You can't find that in school. You don't know that by genealogy, you know that by "kneeingolgy," on your knees before God. It doesn't take education; it takes a surrendered heart. God works on the heart. Do you believe that?
Now, if for instance, if today, if I could come here as it is very warm in the building tonight, and could paint you a picture here on the wall of a air-cooled, arctic place, or something, it would look very well. I'd say, "That's what was." But that doesn't make you be cool, does it, just a painted picture? For instance, you were freezing, and I painted you a picture of fire licking, and burning, like that, I'd ... and people standing around getting warm, I'd say, "Looky there, that's fire." Why you can't get warm by a painted fire; it won't warm. That's something that was. You've got to have the fire yourself. What Jesus was then, He is now. If He was a fire, a warmth to the heart, and a soothing, a shelter in the time of storm, He is the same today.

10 Now, someone said not long ago, "Brother Branham, preach the Gospel..." A very noted radio evangelist, a friend. We belong to the same church. And he said, "Brother Branham, while you're on the West Coast here, preach the Gospel."
I said, "I do, Doctor."
And he said, "Not that divine healing." He said, "Preach the Word."
I said, "The Word is what I preach, sir."
He said, "Look, Brother Branham," he said, "the Gospel is the Word of God."
I said, "Not altogether, brother. The Bible said the Gospel come to us not in Word only, but through power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost (See?) to preach the Word, The letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life." See?
It has got to be... Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." Then interpret, it in Bible forms means go into all the world and demonstrate the power of the Word by the Holy Ghost. "And these signs shall follow them that believe."

11 Today we say, "What signs?" We go to church; we pay our dues, and we treat our neighbors right. That's wonderful, but that ain't what Jesus said. Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe: In My name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues; take up serpents; drink deadly things; lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." [Gap in the audio.] That's the signs that Jesus said.
Our ministry has changed it over, and said, "Oh, there's a real believer; I tell you; he loves the Lord. And he goes to church every Sunday, and he pays his dues to the church, and he treats his neighbor right." That's just moral acts. The Holy Spirit in the man demonstrates the power of the supernatural, what makes him a believer. It's God vindicating that he is a believer. Jesus said, "These (not 'them'), these signs shall follow them that believe."

12 All right. Now, the supernatural is what blinds men. It has in all ages. But isn't it marvelous to think where the supernatural is demonstrated, "Where the eagles are ... the carcass is, rather, the eagles will be gathered." Through the age it has been that way. Men walk in slumber of life, and they hear their teaching and their philosophy, and so forth, and that teach theologies and... But that still doesn't satisfy the human heart.
And when the supernatural comes into view, like it did in the days of our Lord Jesus, after their fine priests and so forth, that they had, and their scholars, and their philosophies... When Jesus came on the scene with His, with the power and the manifestation of God, the people flocked to Him to hear, because it's something in the realms beyond. And all men knowing that soon, all the education he's got, and the theology, and so forth, will rot in the grave with him. We know that. But where the supernatural is, pierces beyond the grave. And that's what ... people look, and most time, if they're critical, and they're not open up in their heart, they'll pass some opinion on it, like they did at Him, and said, "He's Beelzebub, a devil, and he casts out devils by the devil. And he knows those things, He sees them. Yeah, Beelzebub shows Him, and..." and is like that, and they pass on. But some believe Him. And those who believe was saved. Those who believed could get healed. But if Jesus Himself was standing, wearing my suit and my shoes, He could not help you any more tonight, than what He can in the form He's doing now. You know that?
The Bible said there's a place that He went into that, "Many mighty works He could (c-o-u-l-d n-o-t), could not do because of their unbelief."

13 When some blind men followed Him, He touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith be it unto you." The Father had not showed Him nothing about that; He just touched their eyes. But when calling Lazarus, where He'd seen, He said, "Lazarus, come forth." And to the other people who the Father had showed Him by vision, what He was to do, He called them, and so forth. Then when the others come by, He touched them, and said, "According to your faith."
The woman that had the blood issue touched the hem of His garment; He turned around and said, "Virtue has gone from Me. Somebody touched Me." The Father hadn't showed Him, but it was sensitive (the Spirit), that virtue went out, for the Father had honored her faith in His Son. You see what I mean? And there she was healed.

14 Now, the same word in the Bible, translated, s-a-v-e-d, and healed, is the very same word all the way through the Scriptures. Anyone knows that. Now, well, when you're saved, spiritually, or you're saved physically ... now, He said to the woman, "Thy faith has saved thee," physically, saved you. Now, it's in the redemption; it's in the atonement; it's in the plan of God. You can be spiritually saved or physically saved, because He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes we're healed." Is that right? So it's just according to your faith.
Now, in His loving mercy, after ministers, through the years, has passed through the land and preached this wonderful Word, thousands of people has been blessed, and saved, and healed, and so forth. Then, in His sovereign mercy in the last days, as He promised, when the last days... "I will pour out My Spirit." There'd be a former and latter rain; and in the latter days, He would send forth a great blessing to the people. When the enemy comes in like a flood, I will raise up a standard against it." See?

15 And as atheism is on the march and so forth, and the churches are falling away, and getting formal, let me say this to you my dear brother and sister, if you'll receive me as your brother, we need a revival. Now, I'm not discrediting anything; I'm talking to you from my heart. We're having a lot of protractive meetings, but not no revival. We're have great men out, for instance, Billy Graham, a wonderful man, Charles Fuller, Dr. DeHaan, and many of the others that I could call: Hyman Appleman, and many great men. We're having great... There's also Brother Roberts, Brother Freeman, my own meetings. We're having great crowds but no revival. We're getting people to come up, maybe, and stagger along, and confess, and go back. But what we need is an old-fashioned, breaking up, tearing down, rooting out revival that starts in every home, and sweeps through the city, and they close all the bootleg joints and everything else, and straighten the thing up. That's a revival, see. Not just walking up and making a confession and going back, and it's no revival. That's just a form. It's a lukewarm condition. We need a real revival. And God help us to have it.

16 And when you see these crowds gathering, that doesn't mean revival; that's just a gathering. But a revival is when people get really right with God, and pray through, and starts a revival throughout the city, and everything. You see? They put away sin, put away their iniquity, and [unclear words] turn to God, turn around and start back again (See?), the road. Now, I trust it'll be that way in this city.
Now, concerning the operation of the spiritual gift, Brother Baxter will teach you in his afternoon meetings and so forth, what is germ diseases, how they're demons, and how they hold people, and possess people. Now, I want to get a little story to you each night, as I can.

17 Tonight, I want to speak to you about the Angel of the Lord. Now, to... It's just as true, friends, as I'm... I can't make you believe it. You see? I can only speak what's truth. And your attitude towards it will determine the success it'll be for you. I have no power to operate it.
If my dear mother laying here, would be on a platform would be dying, and say to me, "Son, I held you on my bosom, and you nursed life from me, and I walked away from the table when we had nothing to eat, so that when you was a little boy you could eat and live. My beloved son, tell me, what will be the outcome of me in this..." I could not say one word until first He showed me. For it's not nothing to do with man; man is completely out of it.

18 Even the Son of God, He said, "I can do nothing except the Father shows Me first." And if He couldn't, how much more I, as a man, a sinner, and He never was a sinner. And He was borned the virgin Son of God. And I was borned in sin, shaped in iniquity, come to the world speaking lies, worthy to go to hell, but He redeemed me. And only hands He has on earth tonight, is my hands, and your hands. The only mouth that He has, is my mouth and your mouth.
"I will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world." Is that His Word? See? Then it's Him, "It's not you that speaketh," He said, "but your heavenly Father that dwelleth in you, He doeth ... will tell you at that hour." You see?

19 Now, in going forth, it was very hard when I first made the announcement about the Angel of the Lord. Many people, even my bishop, pastor, when I went to him and told him, he's the head of the church in that section of the Missionary Baptist. I said, "Dr. Davis, the Angel of the Lord..." and then told him about it.
He said, "Billy, what did you eat for supper last night? You had a nightmare."
And many of you that takes that little paper of Brother Lindsay's, called: "The Voice Of Healing," you seen his apology recently.
He said, "What did you eat for supper that night?"
I said, "Sir, I don't appreciate that."
He said, "Ah, go on home and forget about it."

20 I said, "Dr. Davis, look, you might tell me to go home and forget about it, but God has anchored something in here. If you don't want me, there's others that will." I said, "I am under obligation to God to go."
Well, it was very hard. They told me that they couldn't be done, and so forth. And my last sermon at the church was "David and Goliath," the opposition that David had. But as soon as Goliath was slain, then others, the Israelites taken courage and went forth, and that's what's happened. When they seen that it could be done. Ministers setting on the platform, they didn't claim to be able to know these things, but they believed in the Word, and give them courage, and they went out: Brother Roberts for one of them, Brother Oral J... and Brother Jaggers, and all of those. They's such man in the meeting. They seen the vision, rose, and went out into the fields, and are slaying now, and they've beat the Philistines plumb to the walls. That's right.

21 Now, I'm leaving the fields right away. I have one more--two more American meetings. And God only knows when I will ever have another one. I'm returning back, as Elijah, to Mount Carmel. I believe God is fixing to do something else for the church, and I must wait on the Lord, and find out what He says do, and then there'll be a great move for the Lord. I believe we're near the coming of the Lord, when these... He said, "I will show signs in the earth below, and in the heavens above before this ... the day of the Lord shall come."
I've been called practically everything from a divine healer, to the incarnate Son of God, and demon, and everything else, mental telepathy, and all kinds. But that still doesn't change it a bit. He's Jesus Christ, and we are His people. By His grace He has redeemed us, and that's all we are. And it's Him that does all things by the will of the Father. We believe that, don't we?

22 Now, many times in the meeting, the Angel of the Lord which appeared, and many of you know about, it appears like a ... that night, and all down through the time, it looks like a big pillar of fire, about that thick, and about that big. And it comes in a licking, whirling, going [Brother Branham imitates the sound of the Angel of the Lord coming to him.] Thousands times thousands has seen it. It's appeared visibly...
Here not long ago, I was standing near Fort Wayne, Indiana, in a meeting, and I was speaking, and the audience was very haughty like. It was in a theater building. And I was trying to... I said, "Now, it's the Angel of the Lord..." I just being started, and I could see the people looking one to another, and you could feel that cold feeling. And some of them, especially the sick, they wasn't thinking of that. They... The others that was acting that, they wasn't sick. The sick man is looking for help; you can talk to him. A hungry man that's real hungry, you can talk to him about food. But if he's eat, you ... he's not so interested about dinner any more. See? Well, that's it, it's the ones that's in need. And maybe sometime, you'll be in need, too. So it'll be different. If it was your mother laying here dying, or it's your son, or someone, it would be different, and the doctors said there was no hope for them, it would be different.

23 But they were acting like that. And I said, "I can't make you believe it." And I started to pray for the people that night, was going to pray, and I said ... took a little boy, and the first one in the prayer line was a little boy who had crippled feet. And it was polio had drug his--pulled his little feet down, like that. There was a baby grand piano, something like this, setting down like that, and there was a Nazarene girl playing it. And so, she was playing: "The Great Physician Now Is Near," the sympathizing Jesus. And the mother of the child was sitting right down here. The usher had brought the child in the line.

24 And I was praying for the little boy, and I said, "Heavenly Father, I ask Thee to be merciful." And I thought the custodian turned the light in my face, and I seen it getting brighter, and brighter. And I said, "Lord..." And I thought, "Oh, my, that man, that's... If he doesn't like me, he ought to be gentleman enough not to do that." And it kept getting brighter and brighter, and I thought, "Oh, my." And I raised my eyes to motion to him to ... opened my eyes, rather, to motion to him to quit doing that, and when I did, it wasn't him, it was the Angel of the Lord come whirling, like that. It was coming right to me.
Now, I do not know (to be honest), whether I dropped the child, whether he jumped out of my arms, or the Holy Spirit taken him out. I don't know. But he got on the floor, and his little feet was just as normal as they could be. And here he started walking down, and the mother of the child saw it, what had happened, and she just screamed, and jumped forward, and she seen the light. And the Nazarene girl looked up... How many Nazarenes are here, from the Nazarene church? You mean there was no Nazarenes here? And ... here they are, that's fine, and back there; that's wonderful.

25 Well, the Nazarene people have enough religion to shout when they get happy. And so the Nazarene girl, a very attractive, blond-headed girl with long hair, she raised up like that, and begin screaming as loud as she could, and run away from the piano. And as she run away, the piano constantly played:
The great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus,
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
And this Angel of God settled over there, seven hundred and something people come giving their hearts to Christ, falling over the aisles. He has vindicated Himself hundreds of times. Many of the articles is written in the book back there, if you pick it up, and--of the things that I couldn't have time to tell. Well, some of them would say, "Oh, it was psychology."

26 And at Camden, Arkansas, we got the picture of it there; the photographer got the picture. And it come down through the meeting, and circled down. A minister run forth to throw his arms around [unclear words] and was stricken blind on the platform. There's the picture of the whole thing. It's in the book.
Then I was at Houston, Texas, and we were having a meeting in the music hall, which seated about four thousand people, I guess. And we went to the coliseum; we couldn't seat them, so we went to the coliseum, which seats around thirty thousand. And there was a Baptist clergyman down there. I won't call his name, because it's not very nice to call a minister's name, but he was out of the Southern Baptists conference, just come out of school, about thirty years old. And he put a challenge in the paper, and he said, "Brother Branham is nothing but a religious racketeer, and ought to be run out of the city, and I should be the guy that does it." So he got pretty rough.

27 And I was staying at the Rice Hotel. Dr. Bosworth... how many knows the Reverend Mr. Bosworth? Nearly all of you do. Wonderful character, I thought he'd be known up around in here. And he came to the room, and he's seventy-three years old. He said, "Brother Branham, look at this paper today." A great big column in there. Oh, he just ... the minister ripped me. He said, "Let's challen... let's take that challenge." I...
[Gap in the audio.] This nation, it's in a crumbling condition now. Because our politics and things are so divided. That's why the Indians lost it to the white man. If them Indians'd all gathered together, there'd still be an America for the Indians. But they separated, and the tribes fighting one another, and we come in, and took it. And that's the way we're going to lose it, and that's the way the church is losing today, because we're not together. And ... but that showed that someday... They come from everywhere, and united as one big unit, and that great big Sam Houston Coliseum where they hold the rodeos and things filled up.

28 Mr. Best went over and hired a commercial photographer. Now, here's the remarks he said: "Come over and take six glossies of me (six pictures), I want to have a picture where I skin that old man." He said, "I'm going to skin him, and take his hide, and rub salt in it, and hang it up on my door, in here in my study."
Could you imagine a Christian talking like that? "By their fruits you shall know them." And the first fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, goodness, meekness, gentleness, patience. Now, but that's what the man said. And so Mr. Kipperman, and Mr. Ayers, of the Douglas Studios, in Houston, Texas came over. And that night there was a big platform table setting there, and they had the Look, Life, Time, Colliers, and all the newspapers, and they were taking pictures. And so when the debate started, Mr. Cy Ramsar ... how many knows Cy Ramsar? He was leading the songs. And then when he got through, he made this remark; he said, "I seen in the paper where you was ... that Brother Branham was a religious racketeer, and should be run out of the city." Said, "If the people of this city would put more time running bootleggers out of the city instead of religious men, you'd be better off."

29 And there ... the people begin crying, and going on. And they told me I didn't have to come down. But I went up in balcony thirty, box thirty, two police, and my brother, and wife, little girl, we went up there and set down; they'd taken me up. And I was setting there. I said I wouldn't have nothing to do with it at all. And I didn't believe in arguing.
So that night watching... And when Mr. Bosworth got to the platform, he'd taken his paper, and he said ... and people on by the sides, which wasn't on either side of the debate. He said, "Mr. Best has taken the side to say the ... my opponent here, that divine healing isn't taught in the New Testament." He said, "I've got six hundred Scriptures of the New Testament and Old, written out here, that Christ's present attitude to the people for divine healing is the same today as it ever was. If Mr. Best will take this and disprove one of them, not by his textbook, but by the Bible, you won't have to do no more, and I will walk away and say, 'I've been in error all the time.' Anyone of those six hundred questions..." He said, "Now, Mr. Best, you're at liberty." And he wouldn't receive it. He said, "I will ask you any one of them if you'll correctly, by the Scriptures, prove that it's wrong, then I will walk off the platform." Said, "That ought to be well enough; there's six hundred of them, and I want you to produce one, if you'll show me one, that's ... is contrary to any of these, then I will say I'm wrong, and I will show you six hundred to start with." Said, "Looks like the odds is pretty bad there."

30 So he said ... he wouldn't do it. So the moderator asked, and so he said, "All right, Mr. Best answer me this." He said, "Was the compound names of Jehovah, Jehovah's redemptive, compound names, were they applied to Jesus, yes, or no?"
Well, that like to shook me off of the seat up there. Well, Mr. Best thought he couldn't answer. If He was Jehovah-jireh, the Lord will provide His Sacrifice, if He was--if He wasn't Jehovah-jireh, He isn't the Saviour. And if He is Jehovah-jireh, He's Jehovah-rapha, the Healer. And if He is Jehovah-jireh, and Jehovah-rapha, He's "the same yesterday, today, and for ever," so He's just the same Healer. That settled it; nothing could be said no more.
So Mr. Best got real angry and begin to stomp up-and-down the floor, and said, "Bring that divine healer out, let me see him."

31 And Brother Bosworth said, "Brother Best, I certainly apologize," said that, "Brother Branham is no divine healer, and never said he was." He said, "Would you..." said, "Do you believe in salvation?"
"Yes, sir."
He said, "Would you want to be called a divine Saviour?" Said, "If preaching divine healing makes Brother Branham a Divine healer, preaching salvation makes you a Divine Saviour." He said, "You know you're not a Saviour."
"Certainly not."
Said, "Neither is he a healer. If you're ever saved it's in Christ. If you're ever healed it's in Christ. You point to salvation; so does Brother Branham. And he points to healing in the atonement. Now, if you want to argue that," said, "just step out on it (See?) for it was in the atonement."

32 So he said, "You bring that healer forth, and let me see him heal somebody." And kept on like that.
Brother Bosworth said, "Now, Brother Branham takes his time praying." And said, "He don't argue with people, and he just ... that's..." He said, "Now, however..." (at the end of the debate), he said, "Brother Branham is in the building. If he wants to come and dismiss the audience, all right. If he doesn't, why he's not--don't have to, but," said, "I know he's in the building somewhere," said, "for a while ago, I seen them when they come in."

33 And I was setting there, and my brother, Howard... Many of you knew Howard. He was kind of, real typical Irishman, he said, "Now you set still." Standing right behind me, and two police standing there... And just as he said that, I felt Something going [Brother Branham makes whirling sound.] I thought, "Oh, no. Huh-uh, I can listen so far, but that's first. I felt it again coming down, going [He describes the sound again.] Something just picked me up. My wife started crying. I said, "Don't cry, honey."
And Howard said, "Sit down."
I said, "It's the Holy Spirit, Howard," and he dropped back.

34 And the people looked up there, about that time, and they started weeping. And about three or four hundred ushers put their hands together as people pressing through trying to touch your clothes or something. It's pitifully. I know how I'd feel if my baby or something was sick, and the doctors had give it up, and I thought there was something could help it. I'd be trying to get in, too. And I'm only human, like anybody else, and it breaks my heart to see such scenes.
And I started walking to the platform. Mr... the ... Kipperman and them had took all their pictures. And when I go, they don't let us take pictures in the meeting, because they sell them and so forth. So he ... they said, "No more pictures taken." Brother Lindsay and them dropped back the people from taking the pictures, and so forth.

35 I walked to the platform; I said, "Don't no one think hard of Mr. Best. That's why the boys are over in Korea fighting. We can be Americans to believe anything we want to." I said, "I don't agree with his theory, not at all," but I said, "as a man, all right." I said, "Some mother loves him just the same as my mother loves me. And don't feel hard at him; he's got a right to his belief." I said, "Now, however, I was minded of my Saviour, when they put a rag around his eyes one time, and they thought He had mental telepathy or something, and they hit Him on the head with a reed, and said, 'Now, if You're a prophet, prophesy, and say who hit You.'" You remember that? Said, "Now prophesy." He didn't clown for nobody; He did what the Father showed Him. So they put a rag over His eyes and hit Him. And they felt no virtue, and neither did He prophesy. He didn't clown for anybody.

36 And I said, "I do not claim to be a divine healer." I said, "I only claim to pray for the sick. And I claim a divine gift, that I was born in this world with, and an Angel of God who comes to me in the form of a Light..." And I said, "It's come to me many times. It comes in the meetings." I said, "If I tell the truth, well, then, it's the truth." But I said, "I cannot heal anyone, no more than Mr. Best, or any other man can save anybody." I said, "But they were sent to preach. I'm not very much of a preacher, but I've seen thousands saved. I've seen as many as two thousand at one altar call, but if a--but that's not what we're talking on, divine healing."

37 And I said, "Now, the person can't come here without God telling me what's on his heart, and what he's done, and the things of his life. That's a divine gift that was sent from Heaven to me, that's my individual. God gave that to me when He brought me in this world." I said, "You can't keep your sins, and so forth, hid, and the thoughts of your heart and mind." I said, "And whatever that you've done in your life, and what your outcome is, you can't keep me from telling you that. But I could pray for you until you for ... till we both got old and gray, and you with a toothache, until you accept Jesus as your Healer, it'll always be there, for healing only is in Chr... God Almighty."

38 I said, "And if I tell the truth," I said, "I tell about an Angel. If I tell the truth, God will testify that I've told the truth. I said, "As Jesus told the Jews, 'I have greater works than those of John, for the works the Father has sent Me to do, the same testifies that I am sent from God.'" And I said, "If He doesn't testify, then I'm wrong. If He does testify, then I am right. Not because that it's me, but because it's He that sent me is right." And I said, "Anyone knows that God will have nothing to do with error, and if I tell the truth, then God will speak of me."

39 Oh, I shall never forget it. And about that time the heavens let loose, and here He come, coming down over me, going [Brother Branham makes a whirling sound.] Everyone sit still. And the man who had taken the pictures of Mr. Best, before he knowed what he was doing, run forward and snapped the picture. God had testified. There was no more for me to do. I said, "Thank You, Father," walked off the platform. Everybody set still; they didn't know what was happening.
This man, going home... Mr. Kipperman's an Orthodox Jew. Mr. Ayers is a Roman Catholic. He wrote in the paper the day before and said I was a hypnotizer. Said a goiter went off of a woman throat, that I hypnotized her. And a young soldier who'd been crippled overseas in his back, his spine, and was saw laying on a place and was told what was wrong with him, and told him to rise to his feet. And him laying there paralyzed, rose to his feet and walked out, said that man was bewitched, made all kinds of fun of me in the paper. And on his road home, he said to Mr. [unclear name] he said, "What do you think about it, Ted?"
Ted said, "I don't know."

40 Mr. Ayers said, "I'm a Catholic," he said, "I'm taught to believe in such things, but it can only come through the Catholic church. If it was ... if he was real, he'd be in the Catholic church."
And many of you... I ... my former people were Catholic. Many of you Catholics in there know that we been taught that, that it has to be in the Catholic church. So did the Jews think that Jesus would come to the temple, but He didn't. He went where God told Him. God does things in mysterious ways. You wouldn't have thought He'd been born in a manger, but He was.
Now, they went in. He said, "Well, let's fix these pictures for Best." And he throwed them in the acid, six of them for Mr. Best. And he shot one of them from that, but he just throwed it in.

41 Mr. Kipperman went upstairs to go to bed, and Mr. Best, or Mr. Ayers setting, smoking a cigarette. And after while he went in, took them out of the acid, took out one, blank, two, blank. Took out all six of them, they were blank. And when he took the next one out, there the Angel of the Lord was on the picture. And he had a heart attack. They tried to get him to Rice Hotel, of course they was guarding the door, wouldn't let them come in to where we was ... to where I was at.

42 And then quickly, they referred to it, and went down there, and they sent it away at eleven o'clock that night to Washington, DC, and copyrighted it. Then it was sent back to Houston. And it was given into the hands of George J. Lacy, the best examiner in the United States, ex-FBI. And he kept it, said, "Now..."--a very hard-boiled. He kept it and said, "Now, wait a minute," said, "I will look it over," and so forth like that. And he took it into the Shell Building for examination, which was... Shell Building for examination and document. He just come from California on a half a million dollar case, and they brought him over there. He kept the picture for two days; then he sent word, said, "We'll give the reading on it, and let you know about it on two o'clock, on the following afternoon, on the third day. Big bunch of photographers, and so forth, gathered in. Many of the people around the city, like the writer for the Colliers and Times, they gathered in.

43 And when he come out, he's kind of a red-headed fellow, very hard-boiled. He walked out sarcastic; I looked at him, and looked like his face had tendered up. He said, "Whose name's Reverend Branham?"
And I said, "Mine, sir."
He said, "Stand up on your feet." And I stood up. He said, "Reverend Branham, one of these days, you're going to pass off of life's scenes like all mortals do."
I said, "I'm aware of that, sir."
He said, "But as long as there's a Christian civilization, your picture shall never die." He said, "It's the first time in all the world's history that a supernatural Being was ever photographed. But I put it through every test that can be thought, and," said, "It was a supernatural Being that's been shot." He said, "For myself, I have said and heard of your meetings, and read it in the magazines, and I heard about that Angel, and so forth. I said within myself, even to the time that I received the negative, 'It's psychology.'" He said, "But Brother Branham, the mechanical eye of that camera will not take psychology." Said, "The light struck the negative."

44 He said, "My mother was a Christian. And I thought I was." He said, "But God have mercy on me." He said, "Come forward." And everybody started crying. He [unclear words] said, "It was once said, Brother Branham, by the old hypocrite (he meant the unbeliever), that there's no scientific proof of the supernatural Being." Said, "Them days is passed now." He had the negative in his hand. He said, "Them days is passed." And he said, "It's scientifically proven that here's the supernatural Being." He said, "Mr. Branham, I will submit this to you."
I said, "It's not mine, sir."
He said, "Oh, wait a minute," said, "that negative's worth a hundred thousand dollars right the way..."
I said, "If it ... to me, it's worth life."

45 He said, "Brother Branham, do you realize what...?" said, "You'll never live to see the day that the picture comes into its value, because the testator is always dead before the testament is seen." And he said, "It'll be in the days after you're gone." He said, "But right now, do you realize what that is?"
And I said, "Sir, it belongs to the American Photographers Association." I said, "It ... if Jesus Christ, my Lord, thought enough of me, to come down in a battle like I was, and have His picture taken with me, for the first time in all the world's history, I love Him too well to commercialize it." And I said, "I will have nothing to do with it."

46 So then they asked me if I'd draw up a plan with them. The lawyers was there, and everything. The studio had the lawyers. And I said, "I will sign no papers. But Mr. Kipperman and you, if you wish to sell it, make it enough so every person (poor people) can get it." But I said, "look, another thing I will require for the sacredness of the picture, that Mr. Lacy, that you'll sign a document, so that the critics will be shut up when they look at it." I said, "and sign a document. And I will ask you, Mr. Kipperman, and you (in the agreement), that you're privileged to sell it. I will sign no papers, but you're privileged to sell it, low priced so the people can get a hold of it, and that no picture can go without a writing signed statement from Mr. Lacy, here, who's our best in America." So I'd think it was the best in the world.
And he said, "I will do that."
And he wrote up a thing, what he'd done, and went to the auditorium, he searched to see if it was a double exposure, and there just above the head, where it was settling down, was the big pillar of fire a whirling around, and around, and around.

47 He said, "Brother Branham, in the ... looking through the negative through the ultra-ray lights, and so forth, it looked like it was kind of a yellow, greenish looking fire, a milling, like this."
And I said, "That's just the way it is." And people there who seen it.
To my opinion, here's what I think it would be, while I read the Scriptures. First, I have the picture here; I want to show it to you. Mr. Kipperman sells them sometimes at the meeting. But when I found out that he was overcharging the people for it, I wouldn't let them sell it in the meetings. Because the picture wouldn't cost over thirty or forty cents, not over fifty at the most, and selling it for a dollar and a quarter is too much. So I... Can you see it back there?

48 Now, at nighttime, when you see those things going on here, it's not me that does that; here is the One that does it. How many can see how far back, let's see your hand, way back. I will have my boy to take it to the stand back there. And in here also, if you'd like to read Mr. Lacy's write up, there it is. You can have a photostatic copy... A photostatic copy's in my book there, but they won't let us (the studios), won't let me print the picture in my book. They let me have the ... this, for this is copyrighted. See on the back, and on here? And you couldn't touch it (See?), because it's copyrighted, and they've got it in Washington, DC. And one of them hangs in the Religious Hall of Art, in Washington, DC, as the first photograph that was ever taken of a supernatural Being.

49 You know what I think, friends? I think that here's where this is, in Exodus 13:21:
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud (a pillar of a cloud), to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by night and day:
He took not away the pillar of ... cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
And with a reverent, sincere heart, I believe that that's the same Angel of God that led Israel out of Egypt to the promised land in the natural, is leading us to the promised land today, in the spiritual. For "In My Father's house are many mansions: I will go and prepare a place for you." And I believe the Angel of the Lord is leading the church today, and it's the same Holy Spirit. And anyone knows the Angel of the covenant was Christ. And not... It isn't just to me, friend. I might be counted in with you, but that Angel of the Lord just doesn't ... to me, it's to all of you. And He's here right now. He's right in the building. I feeled it right now, and know that the Angel... This same Angel that I'm speaking of here, isn't five feet from me right now. And when I meet you at the judgment bar, and this night is called into--to order, see if I haven't told you the truth. He's right in here now.

50 Now, if this was my last service that I ever have in all my life, my words are the truth. For I have not testified of myself; I have testified of Jesus Christ. And the world, the church world, who sees it, and sees its operation, knows and believes it's the truth. And now, the scientific world is without excuse. It's scientifically proven to the scientific world.
You said, "I didn't see nothing spread about..."
No, sir. They wouldn't let the Look, Life, and Times, or none of the papers have it. All of them wanted it, and they wouldn't let them have it. Said if they put it in the paper... You know a Jew. Not all of them, but some of them want money. Said they'll cut it out. They're expecting to sell it, and It's sure sold thousands times thousands, and thousands of them, everywhere. And so I have nothing to do with it.

51 But only this one thing, that I'm happy tonight, to know that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who's sovereign in Word and grace, has vindicated that I've told the truth. And I've told you the truth. It's up to you to believe it; that's all. God bless you is my prayer.
Sonny... Ma'am? [The lady says something to Brother Branham.] Let's say, "Praise the Lord." That's ri... Oh, God bless you, sister. Then you know what is the truth, don't you, sister? That is true.
Was there anybody else was there at Houston, when the picture was taken? A man standing right here was there when the pi... another one here, another one there, there, there. Let's say, "Praise the Lord." The Bible said, "In the mouth of two or more witnesses let every word be established." Is that right?

52 Now, friends, while the little short visit is here at this place, let us all now just lay aside every little thought that we had, that was--maybe it was this, that, or the other. Let's just say, "Lord Jesus, we thank You so much." And for this little time while we're here in the city, may we just huddle together as a hen bringing forth her brood out of the rain. And may we all be sheltered by His love, that these wheelchairs, and these people with heart trouble, and cancer, and so forth, will live and not die. Will you do it?
Your faith is what operates the divine gift. So as I say, if I never appear again in public, and my life is took tonight by Almighty God, He, Himself, has vindicated it to the spiritual world, the believers, and also, to the unbelievers. How many believes that's true? Let's see your hands. God bless you. That's fine.
Now, I've took quite a bit of your time. And sonny, you come now, or get the picture, and they'll put it back there.
I'm sorry we don't have them to sell, but you wan... go to look at it, and read it, why that's perfectly all right. Let's bow our heads now.

53 O Father, I didn't mean to take all this time, Lord. When I go to talking about You, I just love You so much that I ... my heart just burns in me. I think of Paul preaching all night, one night about You, and a boy fell out of the window and got killed; and Paul went and laid his body over him, for he knowed he was anointed. He knowed the Angel of God that stood by him out there that night on the stormy sea was with him, and the boys life returned to him. And he said, "You'll be all right," and he got all right.
I think of how Paul loved You. When they was building the scaffold to take his life, he said, "I've fought a good fight, I've finished the course, I've kept the faith: And henceforth there's laid up for me a crown that the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day: not only me, but all that love His appearing."

54 Dear Father, I ask You tonight, in the mercies, that You will send grace upon this audience. Bless everyone, Lord. And, O holy God, Author of Life, and Giver of every good gift, I've tried to testify the best that I knowed how. And I thank You for Your picture here with us. I look at It, and my heart quivers, think, "Woe is me, the Angel of God has stood near." And You've confirmed Your Word now, practically around the world; thousands times thousands are rejoicing. The scientific world looks at It, they hush it; they don't want it to get any farther. So was it in Your day. But those who are hungering and thirsting for righteousness, they shall be filled. And those who are predestinated to see the kingdom of God shall see, "For no man can come to My Father, exce..." or "come to Me except My Father draw him." And Lord, there's those here who believe. And I pray Father, that You'll shut us together tonight in the bonds of the love of Christ, and may You stretch forth His holy hands to heal all over this building.

55 And may, when the evening is over, Almighty God, Author of life, and Giver of every gift, two more meetings to end up here in America before sailing the seas. And Lord, please hear the prayer of Your servant. If I've found favor with You, grant this to be a great night. The people has waited long in the hot building, but may tonight, something different happen. May the blind see, or the deaf hear, or may the lame walk tonight; may there be something great. And may the Holy Spirit stand near, call out sin, rebuke things that's unrighteous, to straighten up some poor person that they can believe.

56 And Lord, while You're working here, as I have testified, testify of me, Lord, will You, tonight? And may Your Spirit come, and vindicate that You're present. And may every person that sees You, and Your wonderful way here at the platform, moving out in the audience, and picking those up. Lord, may those tonight, setting out there that won't be in the prayer line, may they have great faith and look and say, "I believe that It's the truth."
Then Lord, heal them, and turn Your servant to them, and announce it to them, that they are healed. Grant it, Father. Will You hear my prayer, as I sincerely pray to You? In the name of Your beloved Child, Jesus. Amen.

57 [Brother Branham speaks to someone.] My boy said he give out prayer cards, D today. And let's start tonight... We started last night at 1, didn't we?
[Gap in the audio.] ... and I ask them to keep their head down. This cold spirit kept flowing in. And I felt where it was at, and I looked back in the audience, and a man setting there with his head up like that, and a bunch of people... I said, "Sir, would you put your head down?" He just laughed at me.
And I prayed again, and it wouldn't leave the baby, because He told me, "If you get the people to believe you..." And that showed they didn't believe, or they'd do what you ask them to do. So I said ... tried again, and it wouldn't... I said, "Now remember, sir, see you to it, I'm not responsible."

58 And I said, "Almighty God, don't let this poor, little, innocent baby suffer for the guilty." And it was in a fit right then, and I called to God to heal it. And when the spirit was rebuked, the little baby quietened down, and that man, and about... I forget how many people, every one of them took epileptic fits, and begin jumping all over the floor, screaming, slobbering, and everything. Far as I know, got epilepsy yet today.
I seen a man not long ago in Phoenix, Arizona (I suppose he's gone now), with cancer. He thought he knew everything. He said, "It's psychology."
A few nights it wasn't psychology when he rushed to his doctor with cramps. He pronounced him with cancer [unclear words] Be reverent. It's not playing church; the Lord Jesus is here. We American people are so heady, and high-minded, and haughty, till we think we know it all. We're living now upon the reputation of our forefathers.

59 When Israel got out of the will of God, they suffered for it, and we will too. So you be reverent, and remember that now.
All right. I trust that the Christians will understand. How many Christians is in here? Raise your hand. Believers in Christ...

The Angel of the Lord

1 ... we thank Thee, tonight, for this inspiration: "Lord, I Believe." We think of the father who brought his son one day, who had a devil---epileptic. He said, "Have mercy on my son, for he is variously vexed with a devil."
He said, "I can if you believe, for all things are possible to them that believe."
Said, "Lord, I believe. Help, Thou, my unbelief."
I pray to God that tonight that all unbelief will be taken away from this audience of people, knowing that we are, as Paul said, as days have gone by, "When I would do good, then evil is near." Then I pray, God, that You'll take away all unbelief, and let pure, holy, unadulterated faith in Jesus Christ predominate tonight in the services. Forgive us of our shortcomings, and help us, dear God, to be Your children, worthy some day, by His grace, to enter into the kingdom that is above.
Bless us in every way. Save the ungodly tonight. Grant it, Lord. The backslider---bring him back home to church and to God again. Bring the wayward children back to the grace of God. Heal all the sick and the afflicted tonight, Lord. Bless Thy saints. May they rejoice in the glory of God, for we ask it in the name of Thy Child, Jesus Christ. Amen.

2 It's a pleasure to serve the Lord Jesus, to come into His courts with thanksgiving, and to make known His blessings to the people. I don't think there's anything greater to talk about in the world today than Jesus Christ. Do you think so?
Someone said not long ago, said, "Brother Branham, you brag too much on Jesus." I don't think so. I think He's worthy of everything I could say about Him. I just can't say enough about Him, for I know that He's worthy of everything that I would say. And I praise Him; we ... and pray to Him, love Him. We just can't love Him enough.

3 And now, tonight, this is about half of our services are finished, far as we know; and next Tuesday, I think, is the last night of the service. And we pray that many people who will look around, and consider, and see what our Lord has done.
Watch the cripples when they're spoke to. I was telling this morning... Now the meeting always seems to me like I dreamed it. After the Holy Spirit comes, and kind of anoints---catches away---it seems as though I had a dream of it.
Many times it's been said to me, "Brother Branham, I believe you'd be better if you'd just, simply just call the people up and pray for them." That might be so, but perhaps I have maybe tried to use the gift in another way. It seems to go so well in other countries, but America is the hardest place in the world to preach the Gospel. If there's a place... And I say this with reverence, with my hand on the Bible. If there's a place, if I knew that I was going away from this world tonight, if there's a place in the world ... or, a nation that I think that the Gospel is needed worse than anywhere I know of, is the USA. That's right.

4 The educated heathen is harder to touch than the uneducated. Heathen is "unbeliever." And when they come educated, makes them horrible to touch. They know so much, that you can't tell them nothing. Where the man that's uneducated, he looks at you, accepts the Gospel, believes God, gets the results.
But we try to figure it all out. You'll never figure God out. He can't be figured out. He's past finding out. God is not known by education. God's known by faith---by faith---and the only way you can know Him.
If one-tenth of the things that's happened in this meeting would've happened in South Africa, or some of those tribes along there, there'd been tens of thousands of people saved---converted. But yet, we Americans walk away, and, as the Pharisees of old, say it was the devil---Beelzebub. Well, God can't pour His wrath on a just people. It has to be that condition before judgment can come. We're living in that day. God have mercy on us.
No wonder Billy Graham said, "Why can't we have a revival?" Well, you can't have a revival by just on theology. You've got to have an old-fashioned, God-sent, sin-killing revival that gets people up to the altar, and they die out to self and sin. Then we have a revival. But just stand and say, "I accept Christ as personal Saviour," and sit down, that's mental.

5 The new birth is an experience. It's a gift of God. It's a seal of your faith. The Holy Spirit is a seal. Ephesians 4:30 says, "Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you're sealed until the day of your redemption."
God made Abraham the promise. And Abraham believed God, and was justified by faith. And God give him the sign of circumcision as a seal. So He does today. We believe Him. And then, if you say you believe, and do not receive the Holy Spirit, then you do not believe; because God promised to give you the Holy Spirit when you did believe.
Now, in believing... You do not receive the Holy Spirit when you believe. Paul asked, in Acts 19, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed." It's a gift of God. And when the Spirit of God comes into a man, it quickens him. And then he becomes a new creature. He believes in the immortal God, and he believes that He does all things. And his heart's in tune with God, and... How wonderful!

6 In the Scriptures, I want to read tonight... I was reading here today, which... I've been studying quite a bit in the Scriptures, because I know, perhaps after tomorrow night, I have to take the services over myself, for all of it.
Always I miss ... I miss Brother Baxter. We've been together so long, Brother Baxter and I, till it just seems like he's just become a part of me. I miss him when he's at the platform. I've had some services recently by myself, and I look around for him. He's been my ... not only my coworker, but my pal.
And he has to leave me now to go see about Africa, and India, Germany---many other places---Palestine, Trans-Jordan, for the overseas trip is coming up just as quick as we can get it arranged. We have to go through some governmental affairs before... They've already cut off all missionaries in India; you know that. So, by Mr. Nehru---having a dinner with him---gives us a little prestige to get to go into India.

7 And now, I've been studying a little so I could have the afternoon services, and the evening services, also. Perhaps, during that time, and preaching, we may have some services just as we used to: Just call the people up and pray for them. It looks to me like if the Bible was read, and the Scriptures were given, and the people seen the Spirit of God move, looks like that ought to make a believer out of everybody. There should not be one shadow of doubt left nowhere.
Now, in Africa and other countries, that's all they have to see---just one thing performed. If they'd see someone ... just the supernatural move of God, that convinces the whole entire audience. That's all they have to know. They believe it's right, and so they just accept it. They just start raising up off of cots, and stretchers, and wheelchairs; and throwing away crutches, and piling them up in the corners, and walking away, testifying to one another---just that simple. But now, he's got to see that it's real. It's got to come from the Scripture. Then he believes.

8 In Acts the twenty-seventh chapter, I read these verses, beginning with twenty-first:
... after long abstinence, Paul stood in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this great harm and loss.
But now I exhort you to be of good cheer; for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. (Now, listen.)
For there stood by me this night the Angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Saying, Fear not, Paul, thou must be brought before Caesar; and, lo, God has given thee all them that sail with thee.
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer; for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told unto me.

9 May the Lord add His blessing to His Word.
The Angel of the Lord, coming to Paul in the hour of distress. Now, do you believe that angels die? They can't die. They're immortal beings. They are free from death. They cannot die. Now, then the Angel that stood with Paul is still somewhere in existence tonight. The God that was ... met Paul on the road down to Damascus, and shone around him like a big light; that same Lord Jesus is alive and risen tonight.
There was a light that shone around. Is that right? A light. Perhaps, maybe, the same light that the children of Israel followed through the wilderness. A fire-light---pillar of fire---that led them in the darkness. I believe He's here tonight. I believe He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. And His works...
Now, you can say, "You can believe that, Brother Branham; that would be a theology." But if God confirms that to be the truth, then it's no longer theology; it's the truth if it is. It becomes a reality.

10 Hebrews 11:2 said, "God testifies of His gifts."
A man can say most anything. And I will admit that there's been much said in the name of the Lord that is not of the Lord. But God would never testify, or vindicate a lie. God will always vindicate truth, and never a lie. God is not an author of lies and confusion. He's an author of peace and truth, holiness and righteousness, peace. God always testifies of the truth.
And if someone comes by and says, "Jesus has rose from the dead, and has sent back the Holy Spirit," and you had never heard it; and then he speaks the Gospel; you accept Christ as personal Saviour; and the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and proves that it's the same Holy Spirit that fell on the day of Pentecost, you have no right to doubt that man. He's told you the truth (That's right.), because God has vindicated it with His Word.

11 And if someone comes by and says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and then reads out of the Bible to you what His life was, and what He did... He didn't claim to be a great person. "He was a man of sorrow, acquainted with grief." He wasn't a raw, blusterous sort of a man. He was a quiet man, but yet... He had kindness, but yet, when it was time to speak, He could speak. He beat the thieves out of ... money-changers out of the temple, and so forth, and said, "It's written, 'My Father's house is made a house of prayer,' and you've made it a den of thieves." He could speak when it was necessary in that manner.
But then He went about, and He didn't claim to heal people. He said, "It's not Me that doeth the works; it's My Father that dwelleth in Me."
And He passed by some crippled people---great multitudes of them---and he didn't heal any; and healed a man on a pallet. And the Jews questioned Him about the man packing his bed, and so forth. He said, "Why, the Son can do nothing in Himself: but what He sees the Father doing, that doeth the Son likewise."
The people in the audience---in His audience---would begin to think about different things. He'd speak, and He would know what they was thinking about. Say, "Why reason in your heart?" "Why do this?" and so forth. He knew the thoughts.

12 Now, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He has risen from the dead, He's living among men. Now, here's what He said: "A little while and the world, (not the word cosmos, it's 'The world order.' The world, 'the unbeliever,' in others words) will see Me no more. Yet you'll see Me, (ye, 'the church,' 'the believer,') for I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the age." That makes Him the same yesterday, today, and forever. Then what He was then, He is now, and will be forever.
I don't see any loop before God. I can't see any loop for people to make an excuse of unbelief, unless it's just purely unadulterated sin. That's unbelief.

13 I was talking to someone today---talking on the word of "sin." I said, "Drinking whiskey's not a sin. Smoking cigarettes is not sin. Living in adultery's not a sin."
The lady raised up and said, "Well, Brother Branham, what is a sin?"
I said, "That's the attributes of sin. Sin produces that. That isn't sin; that's what sin produces." I said, "Because that you live good, that's not because you're a Christian. That's the attributes of Christian life, see. You are a sinner because you believe not."
And Jesus said to the people, after He'd performed His works, He said, "Go ye and (what? no more)--- sin no more (What would sin be, then?---"disbelieve" no more), or worse things than this will come upon you."
So, if God in His mercy will help, and will show by the Gospel and by signs and wonders that His presence is here, and you go and disbelieve it, well, that's between you and God. You might even be worse off than the sick people that's on the platform pretty soon. That has been in thousands of cases.

14 Now, have faith in God.
Just a little testimony, I feel, if I have time for it. I got ten minutes. The night of the healing of Congressman Upshaw... How many ever heard of his healing? Let's see. Many of you. He'd been an invalid for years. God, who I stand before tonight, I never heard of the man in my life, though he run for president in '29. I was a little boy then. I didn't remember him. But I just walked into the place where thousands of people were gathered. There was probably as many wheelchairs as what's sitting around in here, gathered. And I'd come to the platform.
I happened to be looking down through the audience, and I seen a vision of a little boy playing on a haystack. And he fell and hurt his back. And a doctor with a white mustache had operated on him, and it didn't do no good. Saw them bore holes in the floor, so they couldn't stand it for the vibration of walking on the floor. And I said, "I see him become a great man. And he makes speeches, and so forth. Then he becomes even a greater person." And it left me.
I happened to look around through all those places. They just brought the old man in, and he was in a wheelchair.

15 Dr. Roy Davis, of the Missionary Baptist Church that ordained me into the Missionary Baptist Church, was wanting to send him to me. The one who first told me I had a nightmare when the Angel of the Lord came to me. Now he's preaching divine healing himself. So, he said in his letter... Many of you read in the Voice Of Healing where it said, "If I hadn't have been backslid in my own heart, I would've believed the boy in the beginning."
And so, now, he sent him over there. And the old fellow... I said, "There sits the old man, there."
So, I didn't know whether he was going to be healed or not. I couldn't say. A colored woman was down this way. I seen a doctor standing with tortoise-shell glasses on, right up over where ... was sitting. And he'd operated on a little colored girl, and paralyzed her from taking her tonsils down.
When I spoke what I had seen, a typical Aunt Jemima type of a old colored sister, way down, way out, let out a scream. And here she come knocking ushers every way, bringing her baby. She said, "That was the kind of man that operated on my baby." And I looked, and it was the same little girl. Said, "Will my baby ever be well."
I said, "I don't know, Auntie. I can't say. I only can say what I see." The prayer line had not been called.
Then I looked again, and she was crying. And they formed some ushers to keep her from bringing her up on the platform, because I don't think the woman even had a prayer card or anything to get into the line. The ambulance had just brought the case up.
I looked back again. I seen something materializing over the audience. It looked like a streak. And when it got straightened out, it was a street ... or, a road. And here went this little colored girl, walking down the road with this doll in her arms, rocking it like this. That settles it. All the devils in hell couldn't stop it then. That's all.
I said, "Auntie, God has rewarded you."
Said, "What do you mean?"
I said, "Your baby is healed."
She said, "Oh, Lord." She begin to scream. She said, "You mean my baby's going to get well?"
I said, "It's well, now.
And the little girl raised up, said, "Looky here, mother."
And people begin screaming, and fainting. And the little girl and colored mother puts their hands in one another and walked out of the building, rejoicing.
Now, I never healed the child, did I? I never touched the child. Her faith in God's what did it. I only said what He told me to say.

16 Then, I looked back. I suppose Brother Baxter's sitting around somewhere. He was standing present at the time. Maybe a lot of people else that's here tonight was there. Well, I happened to look, going down across the audience like a shadow. And here went that old congressman, who'd been sitting in a wheelchair---he'd been crippled, an invalid, for sixty-six years; fell when he was seventeen ---was eighty-six years old. Congressman William D. Upshaw, congressman of the United States---seventeen years of service. They'd wheeled him in a little bed, part of the time, in a wheelchair. He had crutches with things over it to fit over him, so when he got up, they... Many of you knew him, perhaps; you heard him speech. How many ever knowed Congressman Upshaw? Well, sure. All right. And there he was sitting there.
And I looked, and I seen him with a pinstriped suit on---brown and white pinstriped suit---going, walking down across that audience, like a vision, going, tipping his hat ... (He's the one who got me started on these hats like that; he wore them) tipping his hat, like that---very southern---with his hospitality, bowing to the people. I knew he was healed.

17 The vision had caught me so far, till I staggered under the impact of the Spirit of God. I'm sure you believers understand what I'm talk... I tried...
You say, "Oh, Brother Branham, that wouldn't make..." Why did it make Jesus so weak, till even the waves didn't wake Him up in the boat? Why did He say, "Virtue has gone from Me."? Why did the Angel on the pool come down and heal one person, and pull the whole Angel off the pool, maybe for a month? You don't understand. Why was Daniel troubled at his for many days when he saw one vision? See? It's hard to understand, but you just have to believe.

18 Then I started to stagger. I said, "It seems like, if the congressman ... if God was going to heal him... Now, he was the President of the Southern Baptist Convention for years. He'd been prayed for by thousands of people. Mr. Jaggers, out on the west coast, who had a campaign there, had prayed for him many times. Mr. Ogilvie ... Mr. Ogilvie, I believe, had prayed for him several times. All around, different people had prayed for him for sixty-six years. I said, "Seems like God would've healed you when you was just a little bitty boy, when your bones had calcium in them; and not wait till they get old and brittle, like this. But the Lord Jesus has made you whole, right now. Stand up."
And there, a man who had been an invalid, and stood for the right... He would have been President of the United States, if he hadn't have stood against whiskey. But he took on the dry ticket and was defeated, because America didn't have enough Christians to back him up. But God had grace to back him.
And when he was an old man, sitting there---eighty-six years old---the power that raised Christ from the grave took that old, twisted-up body and straightened him out, and made him a perfect whole man right there. And he walked to the platform a normal man, touching his toes to the floor. Traveled through the United States, and everywhere, to England, and before Churchill, and all of them, testifying of the glory of God---healed.
I never even touched the man. Never had nothing to do with it. His faith in God is what healed him. I never even prayed for him---he'd been prayed for enough---but it was just his time. God just revealed it.

19 Looked like when God would've... When Hezekiah was talking to God, the prophet went up and told him, "Set your house in order. You're going to die. You're not coming off of this bed." And the prophet done ... he had the vision. The prophet went and told the king just exactly what the Lord told him. And Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and knowed that was the prophet.
So, he begin to weep bitterly. And he said, "Lord, I beseech Thee to consider me. I've walked before you with a perfect heart." (Wouldn't you like to have that testimony?) Said, "I need fifteen years."
"What for? To run around?"
"No. For the kingdom of God's sake. Tear down the altars of Baal, and build up the altars of God, and set the place in order." That's right.

20 Now, look here. The greatest military, and one of the greatest Christians---as we'd call it today---in the nation. Now, here it is. I want you to get it. The king (not an unbeliever; a true believer---a worshipper of God---in prayer, sincere, weeping, with his face to the wall on his deathbed. Looked like God would've spoke to him. He was the greatest figure in the nation, as far as politics was concerned. He was the king. But God has His own ways of doing things.
Instead of doing that---the prophet had done gone---so He spoke to the prophet, and said, "Return back, and tell him I heard his prayer. I'm going to spare him for fifteen years." God speaking to His prophet to go tell him.
Now, it wasn't the prophet's prayer that healed the king; it was the king's own prayer. But God spoke through the prophet, and told him what he... See what I mean? Amen. I hope you see that. Get what I mean? Now, He's the same God tonight.
Now, look what prayer does. Prayer changed from death to life. God had said, "The man's going to die." And I believe Isaiah told the truth. He was born a prophet. And his words were true, and came from God. And then, Hezekiah's prayer changed the opinion of God.
Oh, my. I like that. Prayer changes things. It's the most powerful force that God ever put in the hands of man---is a sincere prayer offered to God.
Jesus said, "Whatever you ask the Father in My name, that I'll do." Believe it. Try it once, and see if it isn't true.

21 Just remember a little case, just... I've only... It's really time right now, but if you'll pardon me just a moment. I'd just come home off of that revival. This comes to my mind; happened just below here. And I was going away to Erie, Pennsylvania. My pal, Brother Baxter, and all of us, were going up there for a meeting; have a few meetings up in Ohio---Toledo. Maybe some of you here might've been from Toledo meeting, and up... That's where I was at.
And when I got home, a Baptist preacher---the Pastor of the Milltown Baptist Church---Brother Hall... Brother Wood, I see you laughing, because I know you know him, and you know the case. Brother Beeler, you do, too. Fine man---one of my converts---was ordained as a Baptist minister of the Milltown Baptist Church, Milltown, Indiana, where a little girl had been healed---belonged to the Church of Christ that wanted to run me out of the city.

22 And the little girl had been laying on her back nine years and eight months with TB, and hadn't even moved from her back for nine years and eight months---Miss Georgie Carter. Write to her. Go down and see her; it's not very far---two-hours' drive. And she'd been laying for nine years. You can see her doctor or any of them you want to, the neighborhood. And all the neighborhood said, "Let that holy-roller preacher come down and heal her, then we'll believe."
That's just a lie of the devil. If you won't believe by the preaching of the Gospel, you won't believe anyhow. You were, maybe, ordained not to believe. You may be on the unbelievers' side.
But they said, "If that girl could be healed..."
Well, the father and mother... The father was a deacon in the church. And they said, "If any of the church members ever went to one of my meetings, they just might as well get their papers and leave the church," because that was all. They didn't believe it was right; it was of the devil.

23 So, well, finally the little girl cried so hard... I went down one afternoon. The mother and father left the room---wouldn't even come in, nothing. I went and had prayer for them and went on out. The poor little thing cried so hard that day. She said if she could get healed... She believed that she could be healed.
I looked the other day. Did you ever see her bed, there? Have you ever been in the room there, where she ... on the rounds of the bed, where she'd had her little hands back until she couldn't raise her hands this way no more. And she'd pulled all the paint off the bed. And she weighed around thirty-seven pounds. She's twenty-six years old, and been laying there for nine years and eight months without moving off her back.
Excuse this expression: They couldn't put her on a bedpan. They had a rubber sheet, and just pulled a draw sheet. Her limbs up here were approximately about that big around. And I never seen... You ought to see her picture. And when she'd go to spit in the spudiment cup, she go, "Huh, huh," and they'd have to raise the cup up. And that's the way it was. She hadn't seen the trees, or nothing.

24 And her mother, a fairly young woman in her early fifties, had turned completely gray, and stricken with palsy, sitting for nine years, watching her baby die, without a... It's started into the throat, went down through chest, into the female organs, and through her: TB. They gave her up five years before that.
And I went out to baptize... Some Methodist brother---and I'm not saying this in any harm to you---but he made fun of immersing. And I'd been baptizing over there at Totten's Ford---baptizing by immersing. And he'd had a revival out there. And he said, "Them Baptists ain't nothing but..." I forget what he called me.
And so, when his convert was standing on the bank, I walked out into the river to baptize. And God my Judge: every one of his converts walked right out with their good clothes on, was baptized that afternoon. That's right. Mr. Smith---Reverend Mr. Smith---the Methodist church.

25 So, I went up to Mr. Wright's to have dinner. And it's way in the country, in the hills. And so I said, "Something tells me to go over in the woods and pray."
And so, Brother Wright said, "Now, when you hear Ma ringing the bell," said, "it's time to come for dinner."
I said, "All right." And the evening sun was setting.
And so, I went over there, and I knelt down to pray and stickers begin to stick me---you know: greenbriers. I got up and moved over a little farther, and chips was so hard on my knees, I couldn't pray.
Be careful when them things happening. It's the devil. God's trying to do something right then when you see the fight coming on.
So, I just got ... just threw up my hands and I begin weeping. I said, "Lord, have mercy. I don't know..." And I got lost in prayer. I didn't know how long I was praying. I could hear that bell ringing, but I couldn't get to myself---and just caught away.
Now, after... They done sent out search parties over through the woods, hunting for me. And as I was standing there with my hands up, I happened to look through a little dogwood bush, and here was this same light, hanging up there in that dogwood bush. And a light shining down through it, and a voice said, "Go by the way of Carters, for 'thus saith the Lord,' she's going to be healed."

26 I rose up real quick. I started running down through the woods. And I jumped over a little fence and right into the arms of Brother Wright. He said, "Brother Branham," said, "Mother's got supper on the table." Said, "It's... Why," said, "we don't know where you... What's been the matter?"
I said, "We can't eat now, Brother Wright, for the Lord is going to heal little Georgie Carter."
Said, "When is she going to be healed?"
I said, "Just as soon as we get there. For I just met the Angel of the Lord there in that dogwood bush, and He told me to go by the way of Carter's." And He said...
And a fellow by the name of Mr. Brace had just brought his wife from Texas. He said, "Brother Branham, can I go with you to see it done?"
I said, "You're welcome."
So we got in, and at the same time, her mother... And I'll give you her address. I want each one of you to write and see in her own testimony, or go down and see her. It's just a little ways. Ask through the city, and everywhere.

27 And so, on the road down, why, her mother... The little girl had been so ... weeping so that she wanted to come and be baptized that afternoon. I'd prayed for her, but she hadn't been healed.
And so, on the road, before I got there, her mother said she just couldn't stand to see the little girl cry. So she went into the other room, and she knelt... Now, here's her testimony. I can only repeat her words. Said she went in and knelt down and raised up her hands. She said, "Lord God, we've served You reverent over here in this church; my husband a deacon. And I've done all that I know how to do." And said, "That impostor William Branham has come through here and got my little girl all stirred up, and there she lays dying. And there she is, all stirred up about this divine healing thing." Said, "Lord, why do You let a person like that live?"
And she was just saying horrible things, and said, "Why did he come through here to do this? And what have I ever done to cause it?"
Now, here's what she said. She opened her eyes while in prayer, and her daughter... They live in a lovely big home there. And so, her daughter from the next door, she thought, was coming over. She seen a shadow: the sun coming through the window on the wall. And she thought it was her daughter, but when she looked, it wasn't. It was someone with a robe on, with beard hanging down.
She said, "Who's that coming?" And said she looked over here, and she seen me coming with my Bible over my heart, like this, the high forehead here, walking like that. And two men following me. And said, she said, "Oh, I must've went to sleep. I was dreaming."

28 And she run in and said, "Georgie?"
She said, "What, mother?"
She said, "Something's happened." She said, "I was out there praying, and I dreamed, or something. I thought I seen Jesus coming. He pointed me over to..."
And just about that time, she heard a door slam. And there I was getting out of the car (God works on both ends of the line.) Bible over the heart. Them two men, Mr. Wright and Mr. Hall ... or, Mr. Brace following me, coming up the steps. And the mother fainted. The little girl... I don't know how I ever got in the door. Opened the door, walked over to where she was.
Brother, I don't care how many demons would be present, whatever would be there, God has done spoken and nothing can change it. His words are true. They're for everlasting from everlasting, true.
There laid a little believer, laying there in the midst of persecution, and everything, still with her little heart, centered on God, believing yet, and in prayer. It wasn't my prayer; it was her prayer.
I walked over to the bed. I said, "Sister Carter, the Lord Jesus, in whom you've trusted all these years, has sent His Angel out there in the woods, and has told me to come down and lay my hands upon you that you might be made well." I said, "Therefore, take no thought of how you shall do it, but in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, rise up."
How was she going to do it with legs that big, and never moved off the bed in nine years and eight months? And God, who is my solemn Judge, in five minutes from then was out in the yard, walking around, blessing the trees, and blessing the grass, perfectly normal and well.

29 And here come the Baptist preacher from... Here come her father, came down the road, coming from his barn, packing a little milk, and he heard... His mother had come to the self, and they were screaming, and crying, and carrying on. He didn't know what had happened. He thought the little girl might've died. So, he hurried real quick. He rushed in the front door. The critics making fun. What did he find? His little daughter sitting at the organ, playing:
Jesus, keep me near the cross.
There's a precious fountain
Free to all a healing stream
Flows from Calvary's mountain.
He fainted on the floor, dropped his milk, [unclear words]. They was working with the mother out in the room, and all screaming. Why, they had the whole city out there in a few moments.
But did they turn to Christ? No. She is my piano player in the Milltown Baptist church tonight. That's been about six years ago. Never been to bed with as much as a bad cold since. Nine years and eight months without moving off the bed. Brother, still they live in unbelief down there. It's all, "The devil done it." That's past redemption.
Look! I haven't time for something else I was going to tell you about that pastor... Maybe tomorrow night.

30 Friends, I had nothing to do with the healing of that girl. I only told her what He told me. I had nothing to do with the healing of anyone. It's your faith in God that does the healing, like your faith in God does the salvation.
Jesus, when He died at Calvary, there on Calvary He purchased your healing and salvation. Nineteen hundred years ago, every sick person in here was healed. Nineteen hundred years ago, every sinner in here was forgiven. But it will never do you any good until you accept it.
Now, the only... If a man comes through, and he said, "I am a divine healer; I have something I'll do for you.", the man has, really ... maybe I'd say this: He might be sincere, but he doesn't understand the Scripture. And the man is bearing witness of something that isn't true.
I'm a fundamentalist. And it must come from "Thus saith the Lord." But, brother, sister, tonight, I'm telling you the truth: that our Lord Jesus, in this end-day time has appeared unto the ... give glory to all His people, and to bring salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit to those who believe, and healing of the body to every believer.
May you believe tonight, as we pray.

31 Our Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for Jesus the Son of God, and for His remembrance of we poor, unworthy creatures, Gentiles carried away with dumb idols. One time alienated from God without hope, without God, without Christ in the world; dying, going to a sinner's grave---a devil's hell.
And then Christ came along and died for us, and redeemed us to God. I just can't understand that kind of love, Lord. How did You do it? Why did You do it? Oh, I'm so happy You did. It's such amazing grace. Unconditionally called us when our nature was against You. "No man can come to Me except My Father draws him." And the Holy Spirit drawed us, and we come to Christ. He gave us the new birth. Now we're believers. Then, besides that, coming back in our midst, and confirming His Word with signs following.
God, grip the heart of every person here tonight in a special way. Bless this little city, Lord. We realize it needs an old-fashioned revival, as all the other cities do. But we're so thankful that they give us the privilege of coming to this stadium, letting us have these places---the men, the city officials, or whoever's behind it. God, I pray that You'll never let them bite the dust of hell. May they be saved. Grant it, Lord, for this kind act.
Bless all the churches. Some of them are unbelief... Some of them will not believe, we know, Father, but we pray that Your grace will be extended to them anyhow. From our hearts, we mean that. Thou knowest our hearts. We pray that the revival will be a help to every church, and all the surrounding churches, everywhere.

32 And then, to Thy children who is born again, filled with the Holy Spirit, God, meeken their hearts. Let them walk worthy of this great calling that we've been called. Going about, living for You, and teaching others, praying for them, and ministering to the sick and the wayward, the down and out. Grant it, Father. We don't know how much longer we have to do this. But someday, I, too, have got to come down to the end of the road. I see it, Lord, as these hard strenuous nights and days are passing, shoulders are stooping. It won't be long till I, too, will have to answer.
I've asked You a long time ago, Lord: I don't want any trouble at the river. I want everything clear when crossing time comes. When I get there that day, I want to take the old sword of life here, and stick it back in the sheath of eternity, raise up my hands, take off the helmet, lay down the shield, scream, "Send out the lifeboat. I want to come over." Bear our weary souls, then, across Jordan, into a better land where there's no sickness, and no more prayer for the sinner or for the sick. We'll be with Jesus then.
Father, tonight, may this meeting be the cause of many preparing for that time. Beyond that, and outside of that, may many of the sick, and all the sick, and the afflicted be healed, for we ask it in Christ's name. Amen.

33 [Break in tape.] You just have faith in God. God'll heal you. He's already done it. You just accept it while you're out there. That's all. You just have to accept it. Say, "I'll believe it, right now." No matter what you feel, that ain't... He never did say, "Did you feel it?" He said, "Did you believe it? Did you believe it?"
Now, let's take about... Let's take the first part of them old prayer cards, about the first fifteen of them and line... [Break in tape.] ... Jesus, just to look to Him tonight, and God will make you well sitting right here, no matter what your conditions are.
If you people around here could have faith... There sits a man, sitting there, come all the way from South Africa to bring his wife to be healed. Flew her over here from South Africa. That's right. Isn't it, sir? God bless you. God bless you, sister. I know where your trouble is. I seen you even last night. I see your trouble. I'm just waiting to see if something happens. I'll call you when He tells me. I'm praying for you, that you could go back home without your wheelchair, well. I want to be over there when you get there, so you testify.
Oh, yes. But there's people here wouldn't walk across the street. There it is.

34 Who's got prayer card O, number...? [Break in tape.] ... the fire, probably that ... a light that shone around Paul, that knocked him down on the road to Damascus. Is that right? It was a fire. That fire was a pillar of fire.
Now watch: A pillar of fire. He never said a thunderhead of fire. He never said a big bank of fire. He said, "A pillar of fire." You know what a pillar is? of fire.
Now, Mr. George J. Lacey... Here's his copy of this. You can have a photostatic copy, if you wish. It's in the book here, (on both of the books, a photostatic copy), only this is copyrighted. I have to get permission to get these. They're not mine, and I don't... There's not one penny of it commercial. No, sir. Just exactly cost. So, the Douglas studios in Houston, Texas has it. I have nothing to do with it.
Mr. Lacey here, which is the head of the FBI, the best fingerprint and ... on that there is in the United States, and, of course, we believe, in the world. He had it for several days. He said it looked like an amber light through the violet rays, and things that he was putting it through---a whipping, milling fire.
And you who got the picture, look at it real close. Look at the blaze running around it, you see how it's flipping, burning around. Now, that is the One who comes to this platform---not your brother ... not your brother. It's Him.

35 And to my opinion, God ... Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is just the same today as He was when He met Paul. I believe the Angel of God ... that light that come into the prison that night, where Peter was in prison, I believe He's the same Angel of God today. Don't you believe? A shining light that comes in.
I believe the One that was with Paul out there on the isle ... out in the ship that night, is just the same today. Don't you think so? Look how certain Paul was. He said, (Now look! Fourteen days and nights; no hope for them ever to be saved), he said, "Be of a good cheer, for the Angel of God has said this. And it will be just exactly what He said." Said, "Wherefore, sirs, I believe God'll be just as it was shown to me."
Now, you watch close. Now, listen to what He says, not what I say---what He says. And whatever He says when that anointing is moving... You can chase it back; it's on the tape recorder. We keep those for that purpose. You watch and see if it isn't just exactly. Trace anywhere through the world that you want to, and find one time out of the thousands of things that it's predicted---even years ahead---and see if one time it's ever failed to come to pass just exactly the way it said it would.
How many knows, that it has traced it around, everywhere? Let's see you hands. There you are. And all those testimonies in those books, there are doctor's bonafide statements. Don't be afraid to write in and see if they're right. Trace them down, see if they're right. And that's just some of the thousands.

36 Now let's, softly, if you will, so we can get in a spirit of prayer. And now, all the little children, and everything, if you will, be real good tonight, for the next few moments. And maybe our Lord Jesus is coming down---the One your Sunday school teacher tells you about. And He's going to try to help dad and mother, your little friend's father and mother, and so forth. That's what He's here for.
My boy told me I said "Tuesday" night. It's Wednesday night, the meeting ends. It wasn't Tuesday. It was Wednesday night, instead of Tuesday night. All right. Thank you.

37 All right, now, the patients. [Break in tape.]
While you stopped that praying, before the Holy Spirit even come to the woman, it flashed to you, sister. Some day, in the great day to come, you'll, maybe, understand. That light that you see on the picture is right here now. It isn't two feet from me right now. That is true. It's another sense. I can tell where it's at. I know it's near. I seen it strike over that little girl just then, and come right back up here again to the platform.
Now, the lady... Of course, I don't know you, sister. But coming reverently... If you do come to believe God, and believe that He's here to help you, well, the only thing that I could do as a minister would be to tell you what Jesus said in His Word. And then, that's all I could do as a minister.

38 Then God has given me a gift that I might, maybe, do something else. It's a gift of being a seer, or a prophet, or whatever you want to call a servant with a divine gift that come on when I was a baby---a little bitty baby.
I wasn't... I believe mama said I was probably about three or four minutes old when she opened up a little wooden window, and here it came in. See, I had nothing to do with it. It's God's love. And if I'd have had my choice of my ministry, it certainly wouldn't have been this. It would have been something else. I'd like to have been like Mr. Baxter---a preacher---but this is what He wants me to do. And I'm happy to do it for Him, because He's allotted me this to do---to pray for His sick people.
Ministers don't get the criticism and things that we do on this. It's not the cross... It's not the thing that worries you through the night, and burden the people, and so forth. Your faith don't have to go and challenge, such as it does here. So, it'd been much popular and nicer if I could have been a minister, and had a great big church somewhere, and preach the Gospel, but it wasn't my lot.

39 I can say now, as talking to you, you are a very sick person. You've been to a doctor recently, and he knows that you're very sick. You have, kind of, a bowel trouble. Isn't that right? I was trying to see what he wrote on that chart. If I'm not mistaken---some kind of a tumorous condition in the bowel. Is that true? ["Yes, it is."] Well, you know I wasn't there, but the One that's standing here now was there. Do you believe now, if I ask Him, that you'll get well? You do? Come here, just a minute.
Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, and Author of everlasting life, and giver of every good gift, I pray, Thee, Father, to be merciful to this, our sister, who is very sick. I pray for divine guidance for her and her decisions in the future. Almighty God, spare her life. Knowing that Satan has determined to put her in a premature grave, I ask You to heal her, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
God bless you, sister. Go happy. Go rejoicing now. And may the Lord bless you.

40 All right, come here. Now, just before... It kind of gets me to a place where I can hard... You just don't realize, people. Sometimes I stand, talk to people on the street, and I'm wondering whether I'm seeing a vision of that person standing on the street, or whether I'm really talking to them when these meetings go so long. You don't realize what it means.
Just a little testimony, while I'm resting. Every person in here... Where did that lady go that was just prayed for? Is she here? Lady, what He told you, was that the truth? Was that truth? What He told you, about you, was that the truth? I mean, what was said here, is that the truth? If it is, raise up your hand. That ought to make every person in her believe. They oughtn't to have to have one more thing.

41 Now, Moses, when he committed his sign one time to the people, they all believed him from then on. Is that right. He didn't have to do no more. Moses, every time he met a Hebrew, he didn't have to do it.
That's the way I believe, sometimes, I do wrong---by just taking, first, one, then, the other; then one, then the other; then one, then the other. I think it's wrong. It ought to be committed. And then, if that's the truth, then that ought to settle right there, and go on. Now that'd be all right. Then you'd believe me---what I say.
And here's what I'm saying. Here's the doctrine. Here's what I'm telling you: Every person in here has been healed for nineteen hundred years ago, as far as God is concerned. If you can believe it and accept it, go home and you'll get well. Now, that's true.

42 Here, sometime ago, a lady come into the meeting, and she had a stomach trouble. And she was prayed for. And after she left, I seen her going away, eating, and so I told her ... I said, "You're going to be well, lady. You go eat what you want to, now."
So, she goes home, and tries to do what I told her. And did she get sick! My! And she, for three or four weeks, she tried to eat, and she just couldn't do it. She'd just eat, and it'd just burn her. And she'd vomit, and everything.
So, one morning, she was standing, washing her dishes. I got her testimony, and that's one of the many, of course. So she was washing her dishes and she said her stomach was burning her so bad from eating. And she got real hungry, so she turned around. One of the children had left a piece of toast on the table. So, she picked it up, and started eating the toast, and she thought she'd have to vomit it up again in a few moments. So, it didn't bother her---didn't burn. She said she eat some oats, and that usually really upset her, but it didn't bother her. So, she drank a cup of coffee, and it didn't bother her. Said she just felt good. And she waited for about a hour---no ill affects.
So, she had a neighbor down the street, about, oh, about two blocks from there that had a growth on the side of her neck---just a little fungus-growth, fatty tumor. And so, It told her that she was going to be well. So, she closed up the house and ran down the street real quick, rejoicing, and went to tell her neighbor about what had happened: she could eat, she was feeling fine. And when she got there, she found her neighbor screaming to the top of her voice. The growth had left her throat that morning.

43 So, you know what had happened? They come back in the meeting. (Brother Baxter will remember it.) They come back in the meeting. A few weeks after that ... six weeks, or more, had passed. What if she had disbelieved?
Now, what happens? Sometime when a blessing is pronounced, maybe it won't happen right then, but it's got to happen.
Look. Daniel prayed; and the Angel of the Lord heard him, but couldn't get to him for how many days? Twenty-one days.
Now, what happened? That blessing had been pronounced upon the woman, the vision had been seen---what was her trouble, and what she was going to be. Now, sometimes, it don't even tell them. If it turns light around them, I just let it go. If it turns dark, I let it go, because dark means that they're not going to, but sometimes prayer changes things. Look at Hezekiah.

44 There in Africa... Did you attend any of the services in Africa, sir? You did. Was you there the night, I believe this was at ... where we had that, over at Durban, where that woman ... told her she was just going to live a little while. A woman had ... I believe it was female trouble. Just as healthy and strong as any woman you ever seen, walked across the platform. And It told her, said, "Now, you have a little tumor, or something, a little fibrous tumor or something on the ovary, your doctor said."
"Yes," she said. "That's the truth."
I said, "Prepare for death, for you're not going to live but a little bit." And in thirty minutes, she was a corpse---because I seen them packing her away in a vision. And I knew she was ... had done already, but if it just turns dark, then prayer could change it. I just let them go. But, when It says anything, you believe just that thing, and it'll be just that way, see. You watch.
Now, it's your faith. I could pray for you, but it depends ... what this is to do.

45 Now, here stands a woman. I've never seen her in my life. I know nothing about her; God knows that. You know me, lady? You don't know nothing about me. We're perfect strangers. I don't know her. Now, she just happens to be one standing here, close. Now, God might not say one word to the woman; I don't know. But maybe He will; I don't know. But I can only say what He tells me to say. And then if ... when He... And if He doesn't say anything, I'll just have to say ... well, I'll offer prayer for her, and let her pass on by. If He says something, then that'll be different. It'll be just exactly what He said.
Now, I want you to be reverent. And what had happened in that case, now. The Angel of the Lord, after He knowed them blessings was pronounced, He passed through the neighborhood, confirming the word. That's all there was to it. Just the same thing.

46 Now, lady, as we being strangers, I do not know you. God knows I don't know you. The Bible laying before me. And God, who is present now, knows that I don't know you. I've never seen you. And if you're up here for some good, I pray that you get it. I pray that God'll reveal it, and make it known to you---something to help you. And if you're up here in pretension, you'll know that in a little bit, too, because He'll call that to you, also. He is God, see, and we're just man and woman. But you're up here to be prayed for for a heart condition. Isn't that right?---very bad heart condition. I'll tell you what the trouble is. The valves of your heart is closing up. Isn't that right? You haven't got much longer to live unless God has mercy.
And here's one of the main things, lady. Do you believe me to be God's prophet? You do. I believe that, lady. The same Jesus Christ that talked to the woman at the well knowed her troubles---knowed just what was causing her trouble, didn't He? The main thing you need tonight is Jesus Christ as personal Saviour. You're a sinner. Is that...? That's right. You've done wrong. You never accepted Christ. Would you now accept Him as your personal Saviour? You do accept Him now as your Saviour. And you asked Him to have mercy. And if He'll let you live from this heart condition---which I see your doctor shaking his head that there's not a chance for you---but if God will let you live, would you promise to serve Him all the days of your life, and live for Him? ["Yes, sir."] You will. Come here, just a moment.

47 Almighty God, Your Spirit that was at the Samaritan well that day, that was upon Your beloved Son Christ Jesus has returned to the earth to be the same yesterday, today, and forever, and to confirm, and make the words true that He said, "These things that I do, shall you do also. And greater than this will you do, for I go to My Father."
Here's a woman standing here, Lord, who's asking mercy and pardon for her sinful life. And she now surrenders her life to you. And we're taught that all things work together for good to them that love You. And she's dying, Lord, with this heart condition. I pray that You heal her. And may Your Spirit come upon her and forgive every sin. And may she go away from here tonight and get well, and serve You all the days of her life. In Jesus' name I ask this blessing. Amen.
You are a Christian now. Now, go and sin no more, and you'll get well. God bless you.
[The lady says something.] Let her testify this. ["I said I'm so happy now, I'm ready to go. I don't care whether I get well or not."]

To you critics who would criticize our Lord Jesus Christ: what about that? He's the Lord yet. Believe Him. Do you? Have faith in Him. God shall bring it to pass.

48 You feel better, don't you? The little lady sitting there next to you wants to get well, too. She's got eczema. Isn't that right? It's inside, but you got it. Is that right? The lady sat down there; she just been saved. God's with her. A light's whirling all around her, see. And you go home and be... Lady that just got saved, lay your hand over on the lady, there.
The Lord bless her now, and may she be healed in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you---the both of you.
All right. Come lady. Do you believe with all your heart? Do you believe these things comes from God? Even if I didn't even say... If He didn't tell me one thing about you, yet you'd believe anyhow, would you? If I'd just say I'd pray for you, you'd be all right, would it? Now, that's faith.
How many believes the same thing? You'd say, "Just ask the pray for me. I'll get all right." Thank you. Now faith has begin to move. A wall of faith moving up each night, getting stronger and stronger. If we can just hold out and keep moving, you're going to see something break loose here like you've never seen before. There'll be more than cripples walking; it'll be the glory of God, if you'll just only believe.

49 Now, may the Lord Jesus grant these things, and be merciful to us.
Now, I want to talk to you, lady. We are strangers, are we? We are strangers. Yes, ma'am. I never seen you in my life. Don't know nothing about you; that's true. But God knows all about you. But I perceive that you are a Christian. You're a Christian woman. And you're from a Christian family. That's right. You have a sick husband. ["Yes."] Is that right? Isn't that the man standing right there? That's right.
You're suffering with diabetes, aren't you, sir? Is that right? Just walk around this way. You don't have to come in the line.
Look here. You're in a serious condition. You have a cancer. Is that right? The cancer's on the breast. You also have liver trouble. You have kidney trouble. You have a heart trouble. Your doctor can't operate on you, he said, because if he gave you anesthetic---take the cancer out---the anesthetic on your heart condition would kill you. Is that right? If that's right, raise your hand. Come here just a minute.
Almighty God, Author of life, and Giver of every good gift, send Thy blessings upon this poor mortal. May she and her husband go home, and be well, and live happy for many years. Cursed be this cancer, and all the diseases of her body, and the heart trouble. In Jesus Christ's name, may it leave her. Amen.
God bless you, lady. Go rejoicing and be happy, and the Lord be with you. All right.
Have faith in God, and God shall bring all things to pass.

50 How do you do, young man? Do you believe what you have seen to be the Spirit of God? ["I most certainly have. Praise the Lord."] I thank you. I thank you for that. You are some kind of an attendant in some kind of a sanatorium, or something. ["That's right."] Isn't that right? I believe it's a sanatorium---mental place. That's right. You've been struck on the jaw, and it's caused you to have headaches. Is that right? Go home. You're going to get over it, brother. God's going to make you well. God bless you. Amen. All right.
Come, little honey. Bless its little heart: heart trouble. Let's bow our heads a minute for this baby.
Dear Lord Jesus, I pray for mercy for the little one. May she be made well. May she go and be healed, as I lay my hands upon her and ask for mercy. In Jesus Christ's name, I pray. Amen.
God bless you, honey. Do you believe you're going to get well now? Jesus loves you. Did you know that? Now, if He was here, He'd could know what was wrong with you, wouldn't He. And He'd lay His hands upon you, and bless you, and you'd get over that heart trouble. Wouldn't you? You'd get well. Will you believe Jesus sent Brother Branham to do that? God bless you.
Say, ain't you got one of your loved ones that's kind of deaf, or hard of hearing? Isn't that right? Some of your people is a little hard of hearing out there? Now, you go over and put your hand over on her now when you go down there, and she'll get well, too. God bless you.

51 Lady, would you like to go home and eat supper like you used to, and enjoy it? Well, go ahead. God be with you and bless you, and make you to do it. God bless you. Your stomach trouble will leave you. God be with you and help you.

Have faith in God.
Do you want to get over that gallbladder trouble, sitting there, lady? All right. Just stand up. He made you well a while ago. I seen Him do it, but I just waited till you got... God bless you, now. Go, and you're going to ... got gallstones. They're going to pass, and it'll be all right. Don't fear them.
Awful nervous, aren't you, lady? That's the devil that makes you that way. There's really... You think there's many things wrong, but nervousness is what the main thing is that makes you feel like everything's wrong. Like a black bolt comes from you, like a cloud, or something, waves like a breath, moving. You get scared. Many times in the evening times, when the sun is sinking low, you get real weary, don't you? Is that right? Many times you think you're going to lose your mind, but you're not, see. Relax, you're not. You're going to be all right.
Do you believe me as His servant? Then right now... Listen if this is right. You've often prayed, and wanted a place to where you could say ... you could set your foot to start from. Isn't that right? All right. This is your footstep. Go now, and be healed in the name of the Lord Jesus, and be made well. Amen.
Have faith in God.

52 Come, lady. You believing? ... all your heart? All right. That's the way to do. Have faith in God. Do you believe me as His prophet? You do. You look like a mighty healthy woman to be in your condition, but you're sick. Tubercular. Do you believe He'll make you well? Come here.
Lord Jesus, I pray that You heal the woman. May this evil leave her, and may she go and be made well, in the name of Thy Holy Child, Jesus Christ. Amen.
God bless you, lady. Go now, and rejoice and be happy, and you're going to be all right. Bless you. All right. Don't fear. Only have faith and believe, my sister, and God will grant these things to you. All right. [The woman says something unintelligible to Brother Branham.] Yes, ma'am. You go do as I tell you to do, see. You go out of here just being happy, and thankful, and rejoicing. It'll leave you, see. See, now, do you believe that? If you'll do what I tell you, just let the negative testimony be gone from now on. Go, saying, "Thank You, Lord. I believe You with all my heart," because His own Word, even here, says you're healed. 53 Do you want to get over your back trouble, sir? Just reach down like this, and say, "Praise the Lord." ["Praise the Lord."] Go on your road, rejoicing, sir. You're healed.
Let's say, "Praise be to God." Believe God, now.
Come, sir. Do you believe with all your heart? Do you believe if God would reveal something to me---what your condition is---you would accept your healing? You would. You have heart trouble, don't you? Yes, sir. Let me tell you, you have something that bothers you, too, that makes that heart trouble worse. You have a habit. Yes, smoking. Is that right? Forsake it. God don't want nobody to smoke. Forget the thing, go on---you'll get over your heart trouble. God bless you. God bless you, brother. May the Lord Jesus bless you and make you well.
All right. Come, lady. Do you believe? Do you want to get over that female trouble? ["Yes."] Go, thank God for it. ["Oh, glory of God. Thank You, Jesus."]
Have faith, now. Don't doubt.

54 You've been wanting to quit smoking, too, haven't you? Isn't that right? All right. Rise up from there now and accept your salvation from God, and the cigarettes will leave you, and you won't have to fool with them no more.
That's an unclean spirit. That thing tries to haunt on the people.
All right. Do you want to get over the heart trouble? All right.
God, heal the man, I pray, and make him well in Jesus' name. Amen.
Go, rejoicing, saying, "Thank You, Lord," and be made well.
All right. Do you believe, sister? When I said, "heart trouble," it kind of made you shake, didn't it, because that's what was wrong with you. He had a nervous heart, but you've got a blocked heart. Come here just a minute.
Lord Jesus, I pray that You'll heal the little girl, seeing that she stands here, just a young woman. May Your mercies be upon her, and heal her, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
The reason I prayed for you was this: You wondering there if I was going to pray for you, because that's what you wanted me to do, was to pray for you. God bless you.

Come, sir. Do you believe me to be His servant? You do. Go eat your supper, then. The stomach trouble's left. You got a peptic ulcer in your stomach, which is caused from a nervous condition; causes your food to sour, and cramp you---Is that right?---in there. It's left you now. Go eat your supper. God bless you. God bless you.
Lord Jesus, make him well, in Jesus' name.
Let's say, "Thanks be to God."
Brother ... this way just a minute. Come here. I want to talk to you again, just a minute.
[Break in tape.] ... say, "Thanks be to God." Do you believe Him with all your heart? Now, I wish that you would just do this: That you would just look this way and believe, every person. Just look and say, "Lord, I truly believe."
You know that you're over your habit now, don't you, brother?

56 That lady sitting there with that kidney trouble, and rectal trouble, too. Isn't it, lady? You can be healed if you want to, if you'll accept your healing. The Lord Jesus bless you. God be with you, now. Have faith in Him. Don't doubt.
'Course you see this lady here with a goiter on her throat. You can look and see that was a goiter. The lady sitting next to her looks all right, but she's got sinus trouble. Isn't that right, lady? If that's right, raise your hand. That's right.
What do you think about it, young lady? Do you believe, too? You got arthritis, haven't you? If that's right, raise up your hand. Sure. You can be made well if you just only have faith and believe.
Do you want to get over that hernia, sir, sitting there? Believe It'll heal you? Raise up your hand, say, "I accept it." God bless you, see.

57 What about some of you out there? What about that lady in the stretcher? Do you believe, lady? Yeah, you, the one that's looking that way. Look this way. Do you believe me? You do? Do you believe me to be God's prophet. You do? Uh-huh. I don't know you, you don't know me, but you've had an operation. Is that right? That was for cancer. Is that right? But you got a severe kidney trouble, now. If that's true, raise up your hand. Why don't you accept your healing? You do? Well, stand upon your feet then. Jesus Christ will make you well.
All right. How many of the rest of you wants to accept your healing while she ... she did? Do you believe? Stand upon your feet. Everybody here that wants to, stand on your feet. Lay your hands on one another. Lay your hands over.
Almighty God, Author of life, send Thy blessings upon the people. I now condemn every sickness in the building. I now rebuke every demon of power. Come out of the people! Leave them in the name of Jesus Christ!
