The Great Commission

1 It is indeed a privilege for me to be back here into this great arena again this afternoon in Edmonton to have this time of fellowship with my fine Canadian friends, and the people throughout all the provinces. We're expecting that God's going to give us the exceedingly abundantly above all that we could do or think.
It's been some time since I've been here before in this arena. And much water's went down the river since then, as we express it down in the States, but God remains the same. He never changes. He's the same God here this afternoon that was here when we was here before.

2 I've had the grand privilege of preaching the gospel around the world since then, seeing in the second million people come to Christ in our meetings. And it's well over a million now. And we're come today to greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus.
It's very strange that I am here at this time. Two or three times before this, I have been announced to be here, but something turned up that I... One time, especially, that I got snowbound, and I couldn't get over the mountains for several days. And I couldn't get out of the mountains. It just had me snowed in. I was at Roundup, Montana, and they had a terrific snowstorm.

3 And I went in; it was just as nice as it is outside now. And the next morning when I come out, I could just see a part of the top of my little Chevrolet truck that I was in. And there we was snowed in for several days, and we couldn't get here. That I apologize for, for maybe I should have come about two or three days earlier. But my meetings are so set that I just have to run from one place to another.
Then I was... This winter, I was supposed to have come again. And it so happened that they got the arrange ... [Gap in the audio.] Right... The vice-president of the Christian ... [Gap in the audio.]

4 He was going over this year to make a world tour. He asked me if I'd go along, and I felt constrained that I should not do it. And I told him I didn't think I could. However, I said, "If it's so that I can, then I will do it; but first I would have Mr. Tommy Hicks, or somebody to go, or Mr. Oral Roberts, or someone who could take the place."
And that he tried and fixed it up, and it come time for me to go. Well, I found out they'd advertised for me to be over in Germany. Twenty-five hundred ministers in Germany alone was cooperating with the meeting. We had an exit for the prayer room. It seated forty thousand for the prayer room.

5 And then the Holy Spirit forbid me to go. And He sent me to Edmonton. Why? I don't know. I just come this way. It seems like I feel that it's better to go in the will of the Lord than... They that are led by the Spirit of God... "There's no condemnation," I mean to say (Romans 8:1), " to them that are in Christ, that walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit." We try to do that. I try and all my ministry, to try to do... Many times I fail, but I try to walk just as God would have me and do just as He would tell me to do.
My ministry hasn't growed any, I suppose; or the crowds and so forth, about like it was when I was here before. But He gets sweeter to me as the days go by. I was a boy when I was here before; middle-aged man now.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

6 Is there any here this afternoon that was in the meeting the last time I was here? Let's see your hands. Just look at the hands. Isn't that wonderful? And this little group of people this afternoon, that many still living. I'm indeed grateful to God for sparing your life that we could meet together again this side of heaven.
Now, we do not come to you... I want you to remember that we do not come to you as a denomination. And we come as your brother. I come here for one purpose: to have fellowship with all my friends. I come to pray for God's children, the doctor's patients, my friends, not to heal anyone; to pray for people.
And I believe that God in His mercy will grant to us a great need. And we will be believing. I appreciate every minister that is cooperating in the services. We had to make a quick notice; not advertised it much, because the Lord spoke, and it's time to go, after these years, ten years waiting for the time to return.

7 I believe if we'll all get together, pray together, stand together, God will bless us together. Don't you think so? I believe He will, if we will put forth an effort now. Now, the revival, just the minister can't bring it. It takes all of us together. Alone I could... And your sick people here, I could pray ... doubt whether I could pray a prayer of sick for everybody. But you all helping me, and we all together can pray a prayer of sick ... pray a prayer for the sick for everybody here. Don't you believe that? Everybody in Edmonton. We sure can.
But I need you, and we all need God. So, we need each other and we need God. So, let's just pray, and fast, and call on God, and break down our little differences of denominations now; they'll be Presbyterian, and Methodist, and Pentecostal, and Nazarenes, and different ones. But we don't draw that barrier. We're all one in Christ.
That's been my stand, and I suppose it's been one of the reasons that my meetings hasn't flared out like some, because I've kept it little, so I could go where God sent me. I held a revival a few months ago in a building that held thirty people, if it was jammed in. But the Lord sent me there.

8 Now, if I had a great radio program, worldwide, I had a great television program nationwide, or something ... great books, and so forth, and printing presses, I couldn't go to a little place like that, because I just simply couldn't afford to do it. I'd have to be places where they'd have great crowds and beg for money and so forth to get these programs going.
But that's not my make-up. It wasn't when I was here before. I haven't changed a bit. No, sir. Preaching the same gospel, believing the same Lord Jesus. And I'm still against begging and pulling for money. We did not come for that.
Mr. Sothmann here, my good friend, Brother Sothmann, is acting manager of the meeting or just to get the people together and as soon as the expenses are taken up, that's all of it. That's it. We never come for money. We come to help you and to have fellowship. We want to be a blessing to you, and we know that you'll be a blessing to us.

9 And now, in the... They're going to have, after today, a little book concession here. In this book concession, little stand, there'll be some books that's ... they have them. We don't say we sell them. They cost us. I have to buy them at forty cents less than what we usually ask the people if they want ... pay for them.
And if someone is poor and doesn't have the money, they don't have to pay for it. We give it to them. And we have some records and so forth that the boys here, my associates, Mr. Mercer and Mr. Goad... They are here with those after today, the sermons and so forth, if you want one of them as a token of the meeting, they are sold and the boys... They don't sell them if you haven't got the money to pay for them now. We just put them on the basis: there they are.

10 But, of course, they cost us, and if you want to help us, all right. That'll be up to you. And these... They'll just be for cost, just about. I think the boys said their tapes...
I was at a meeting here some time ago and they wanted nine dollars for a tape. Then I went to another meeting, just recently in Chicago. They had a recorder there. They wanted seven dollars. I thought that sounded a little strange.
And the boys here buy the tapes and sell them and so forth, the messages and put them on every thing else. It's about... What is it, Leo? Three fifty. So, that would be a third of what one meeting was, then about half of what the other one was. And still we get by with it. So, you see, we're not here for nothing but to have fellowship, and to love you, and to share the blessings of God among one another.

11 I want to explain. That's what... We thought we'd get together this afternoon, some of the details of the meeting. Then we'll speak to you just in a few moments, so we can get back to start the services of the prayer line.
Usually in my meetings, it's prayer for the sick. If I get off an airplane, it's prayer for sick, or somewhere; it's always praying for the sick. And I love to do it. I just love it.

12 Now, I do not take the place of a doctor. God gave us doctors, and that we're thankful for. But I am to try to work with the doctor. If the doctor is giving you all the medicine he knows how to give, and you can't get well or you're past his medical knowledge, then I feel that we have a right to go to God and ask God to help us. He's the great Physician who promised He would do it.
Now, I hope I wouldn't stretch anything or say anything wrong from the platform here or anywhere else. But I have seen thousands times thousands of people that the doctors had give up, are healthy, normal people today, because prayer changes things. "The prayer of faith shall save the sick."

James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

13 I have seen prayer perform miracles. Yes, in this last days, in this modern age that we're living in, I have seen more miracles that Jesus Christ did in my meetings, than I have read of in His entire book. Jesus Christ done more miracles in my meeting than I read of in His book from Genesis to Revelations, and of the same type. He's still the same. He just doesn't change.
Now, we're living in a modern, scientific age and a know-it-all age, where everything's proved by science. If you'll just go back in the Bible, you'll find out that's just exactly the kind of age they had before the antediluvian destruction. All of you know that.
And the lineage of Cain's children become scientists. The lineage of Seth's children was spiritual. Those two different classes of people exist today: scientists and spiritual-minded people. They should be working together. But it's very contrary.

14 We find out in the field today, that there's so many things that's said. We find out the medical doctor will say about the surgeon, "You don't need that man to cut you to pieces. You don't need an operation. He's nothing but a saw-bone."
Well, then the surgeon will come around, say, "You don't need the medical doctor's sugar pills. You need a operation." There you are. We find the chiropractic will say about the osteopathic, "You don't need a rub on your back; you need an adjustment of the bones." And the osteopath will say about the chiropractor, "You don't want your neck broke. Your muscles are just tight." And all of them will say, "The preacher's a quack."

15 Brother, when you see such motives as that... It seems to me, that I would be justified in saying this: it's selfish motive. Now, we know the surgeon helps; we know the medicine helps; we know chiropractic, osteopathic, we know all that helps. And after all, it takes God to do the healing, regardless of what comes or goes. God's the only One that can heal.
There never was a drop of medicine that ever healed a man, or a mentally balanced man ever said it did. If he did, I can just show you in a minute how foolish it is, see. There's only one healer; that's God.

16 Now, Mayo's in the States, is our greatest one, them and John Hopkins is our greatest clinics that we have. They don't claim to heal. They said, "We don't claim to heal. We claim to assist nature. There's one healer, that's God."
I want to just ask you something. Psalms 103:3, the Lord said, "I'm the Lord who heals all thy diseases." How many ever read that in the Bible? Now, to me, that's either the truth or it is a error. And if that's a error, the rest of it might be error. The Bible is God's eternal Word.

Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

17 And solemnly, the believer must rest his faith upon God's Word. And faith cannot find its resting place upon the shifting sands of man's theology. It's got to take its every stand on the unmovable Rock of God's eternal Word. God said so; that settles it. If He's God, He has to keep His Word. If He doesn't keep His Word, then He isn't God or this isn't His Word.
Now, that's the only basis that we can find for real faith. It has to rest on God's Word. Then we know that there's miracles performed by surgeons, by medicine, by chiropractic. There's miracles performed. But not through the surgeon, but through God.

18 Want to ask you something. For instance, what if I was cranking a car out here and I broke my arm? And I run into the doctor and I said, "Healer, heal my arm."
He'd say to me, "Mister, you need mental healing." That's right. Because he could not heal my arm. Well, now, if he's the healer ... his medicine is the healer, it'd heal my arm. What does the doctor do? He sets my arm and God heals it. Now, a doctor can move an obstruction like a bad tooth, or appendix, or a tumor, or something like that, but he cannot build cells. Neither does medicine build cells. God alone is the Creator, and cells is a creation.

19 Can you understand (See) that God is the only One who can heal for He is the only One who can create? The devil cannot heal. If anybody says that, or thinks that, get that out of your mind right now. The devil never performed one healing, or he never will perform one healing. Certainly.
I just seen a whole Lutheran college converted on account of that. He took a stand, and told me that I... Why, said, "That's theology that's saying the devil can't heal..." And said, "We know a witch that heals." And I just sat right down and wrote him a letter. He had me come there, and the whole college received the baptism of the Holy Spirit (See?), a whole college. Brother Aegery. That's at Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Bethany College.

20 Now, when truth... The Word is the truth, and if I preach or anything goes on in this meeting, it's not just out of God's Bible, then you call my attention to it. I don't want it. I don't want any more than what's in this Bible, and I don't want nothing less than what's in this Bible. I don't want some fantastics or isms. I want just exactly what God said, no more or no less. That's where my faith rests, on what He said. And I believe that it's the Word of God, and He tells the truth.

21 Now, the doctor moves an obstruction. All right, then God develops cells and heals it. As I've said many times, "Any medicine that would heal a knife cut in my hand, would heal a knife cut in my coat, if the medicine heals knife cuts." But there's no medicine that'll heal a knife cut.
You say, "Well, now, it wasn't made for your coat, Mr. Branham. It was made for your hand." Then, if I cut my hand, fall dead, and they embalm my body with the fluid that makes me look natural for fifty years, and they sew it up, give me penicillin, and sulfa drug, and all the fine medicines that we got (to which we're thankful of ... for), in fifty years from the day, that cut will look just exactly like it was when it was cut.

22 Then, if medicine heals, why don't it heal? It can't, because the life is gone. So, life develops cells, and life is God, see. He is life. So, medicine does not heal. Doctors don't claim to heal; they claim to assist nature.
I was saying that in a meeting one time, and a lady wrote a note and put it on my platform ... or, on the pulpit. And the night before ... night afterwards, rather, preceding, she said, "Well, then Mr. Branham, I pray you tell me what about penicillin then when they give you a penicillin for a bad cold?"

23 Well, I said, "My dear sister, penicillin does not heal. No medicine heals. God heals." I said, "Penicillin on this basis: if your house was full of rats, and they were eating holes in the pantry, and all around the walls, and everything and you put out some rat poison and killed all the rats, that doesn't take care of the hole in the house."
That's what penicillin is, it kills the rats that's in your body, but God has to build up the tissues that the rats has tore down. He's the Creator alone, see. So, no matter which way you take it, God is the healer. He heals the soul; He heals the body. First, is the soul.

24 Now, divine healing and salvation for the soul is not on the same basis. Jesus died that He might save us. When we're saved, we're saved eternally. But when we're healed, physically, we'll get sick again. But the soul is the immortal part, and Jesus said, "He that heareth My words, believeth on Him that sent Me, hath (that's present tense), everlasting life and shall never come to the judgment, but is passed from death unto life." That settles it.
Then when we are borned again, we're a new creature. And that soul is a part of God. The eternal life there comes from the Greek word, Zoe, which means "God's own life." That makes us sons and daughters of God. We can no more perish than God can perish, because you're a part of Him.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 But when you're sick in your physical body, until this body has been redeemed, it's subject to sickness again. Exactly right. Now... But it's got to die. It's got to perish. So did the soul have to perish, the thoughts. The soul is the nature of the spirit. And those thoughts and so forth in you had to perish before the new man could be borned into you to make you a new creature in Christ.
Now, in the prayer lines, which will be formed, the prayer lines will be... I don't know just what we'll do each night. We're going to try tonight by the grace of God to have prayer lines.

26 Now, tonight the prayer cards will be given out at ... from six o'clock on till seven. I think the services start along that time. Those obtaining prayer cards must come and receive the prayer card theirself, so they can get the instructions. There'll be a speaker in the afternoon meeting, giving instructions on healing of the body and so forth. Each night, altar calls are made. Bring your sinner friends.
This meeture ... this meeting (pardon me) does not feature divine healing; it features Jesus Christ. And divine healing is only a bait. You never show the fish the hook, you show him the worm. He takes the bait and gets the hook.

27 Christ used about eighty percent of His ministry on divine healing and drawed His crowds together and showed His ... declared His Messiahship and then called them to repentance. We're trying to run the gospel in the same manner that it was then, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's our theme.
Now, the prayer cards will be given out each night. We tried since we was here before, sending the prayer cards ahead to the ministers. The first minister that got his congregation in, that settled it for the rest of them. Nobody else got theirs in in these little, short meetings. Because we don't take too many at the prayer line, haven't been until lately. And the Lord has revealed to us how we can still run a prayer line and get hundreds through the prayer line, so they can be prayed for.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

28 Now, we found out that that caused ill feelings amongst the ministers. Then I had someone to come along and would give out the prayer cards, and come to find out that they give them all out in one day. And then if someone come in the second day, he didn't have a chance. 'Cause there was enough prayer cards to give out the first day to take care of the entire meeting. Well then, that wouldn't work.
Then I come to find out I had somebody giving out prayer cards that they offered him ... somebody offered him five hundred dollars to put his wife in the front row, so he'd be sure to get in there. Well, I had to watch that. That's just where the magazines and newspapers are waiting for: that one thing to criticize.

29 So, I got my son to come with me. I've got two trusted boys here, Mr. Mercer and Mr. Goad. And I know that they would never do a thing like that.
And usually when Billy's along, my son, he gives out the prayer cards, unless he gets in a rush or has to do something, then Gene or Leo, one gives out the prayer cards. Therefore, it isn't the ministers, so that they could have some back-wash after he leaves, say, "Well, you went and give so-and-so a prayer card, you didn't give me one," see. There you are.

30 So, we do it with my own son, and usually they don't ... they pick on him---not like it would be if it would be a local minister. So, those are giving out every day, so that every person, no matter if you come the first day, second day, third day, whatever meeting. Everybody has the chance to get a prayer card. How many thinks that's absolutely up-and-up and on right? Everybody. See, that gives everybody a chance to get a prayer card to be in the line.
Now, the meetings is not based on whether I lay hands on you or whether I pray for you. The meeting is solemnly based this: upon your faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I do not believe there's a man on the face of the earth that has any power in him to heal the sick. I don't believe there never was a man who ever put foot on the ground of this earth that ever had power to heal the sick, even to Jesus Christ. That's right. For He plainly said, "It's not Me that doeth the works; it's My Father that dwelleth in Me. He doeth the works." How many knows that's the Bible?

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

31 And then for a man down here to say he had power to heal the sick, he doesn't know the Scripture. The... Divine healing is based upon the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary. It's a finished work.
Salvation is the same way. You wasn't healed a year ago, two years ago ... (I mean) or, saved. You wasn't saved last week, forty years ago. You were saved nineteen hundred years ago when Jesus died at Calvary. But you accepted your pardon so many years ago, or so many nights ago, or so forth. The same way: "He was wounded for our transgressions, with His stripes, we were healed." It's a past tense.
And every redemptive blessing that Jesus died for at Calvary is yours by faith, that's in the atonement. "He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquity, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, with His stripes you were healed." Them redemptive blessings has been the church's since the atonement was made, and will be till He comes again.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

32 Now, anything you want to know about the meeting or anything, you speak to Mr. Sothmann here, any of the ministers, or so forth, or anyone else. Speak to some of the ushers, or the boys, and they can bring it to Mr. Sothmann. He brings it to me. And we'll pray over the matter and see what the Lord says. We'd be glad to help you for anything we can.
Now, just before we open the Word for about twenty minutes' talk on the Word, just a few testimonies, and then we're going to start tonight and have the prayer line. And then each night (And we're going to see if God will permit it.), we're going to pray for every person that comes in this building that wants to be prayed for. Everything...

33 But now, remember, all remember this one thing. It's not whether I pray for you. It isn't what... Now, it won't only be I praying for you, it'll be the rest of this congregation praying for you.
And notice this, it'll be your faith in the resurrected Jesus Christ. And that's the theme for every night: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He isn't the same, then we're in darkness.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

34 Now, I've been a missionary, you know, around the world. I've stood in the heathen lands. I've stood where I was entertained one day by seventeen different religions, and every one of them denied Christianity. Watch our mighty Christ walk to the front with it. Oh, how wonderful! We're not deceived; we're living in the glory of the real, true religion and the only salvation there is: Christianity and the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen. Let us pray just a moment.

35 Blessed Father, we are so privileged today that we can come into Thy presence, the great, august presence of God. And to know that we have the privilege of calling Him our Father, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, He who made all nature and made man ruler over such. And in the fall, he lost his dominion through Adam. But in Christ he was restored back.
We see our blessed Saviour, that second Adam, who stopped the winds and the waves, was so anointed with the Holy Spirit until great miracles and signs proceeded from Him. That the apostles said on the day of Pentecost, speaking to the religious world, "Ye men of Israel..." How He condemned them, because that they should have known this to be the Messiah. "For Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God, among you by signs and wonders, which He did in the midst of you all, which yourselves are witnesses.

Matthew 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Luke 8:24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

36 Oh, blessed Saviour, we pray that You'll send Him to us, that great One that we look to come some day in a corporal body to receive His waiting church. And He has promised in His Word that wherever two or three were gathered in His name, that He would be in the midst of them.
And God, we look forward today to this. And we pray that You will grant it. Give this city, and this province, and this great dominion of Canada an old-fashioned revival, which they have prayed for for so many years.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

37 The schools has sent out men with honest hearts, and tried, but, oh, God, the best of us are failures. We need Thee, O God. Thou art the only One who can grant this revival, and we pray that You will do it. Save the lost; bring home to the church and to fellowship that backslider. Grant the healing of Thy sick children's bodies.
And if we find favor, Lord, may even miracles be performed. Not to say that we were here which caused it, but that God might declare His Messiahship in Christ again to this age. Grant it, Lord. Forgive us of our sins. May every heart be melted together with one fellowship, every barrier broke down. Grant it, Lord.
Then when the services shall finish, if it's Thy good pleasure that we shall go through these eight days in humility, we'll bow our hearts before Thee and thank Thee, most precious God, for what You do for us. We ask it in Jesus' name, Thy beloved Child. Amen.

38 Just by the reading of the Scripture, which I think that no meeting is complete without this reading of the Word. And now, we will try to be finished just in a few moments, to give you ample time to have your dinner. I believe you call it "dinner" here. I just can't go it that way. I always think I'm getting cheated. Down in the South, we have breakfast, dinner, and supper. And if I have to call supper, "dinner," what happened to my dinner? I couldn't catch up that way, and I'm too old to try to learn anything new now about it.

39 So... And after all, it wasn't the Lord's dinner; it's the Lord's supper. That's just a little in behalf of the South, now. Over in the book of Saint Mark, the 16th chapter, I shall read the great commission.
After he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and the hardness of their heart, because they believed not them that ... seen him after he was risen.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongue;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
So ... after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Mark 16:14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

40 This great age that we live, it seemed to have somehow gotten away from this. But I have read to you out of God's eternal Word. And He said, "Heavens and earth will pass away, but My Word shall never pass away ... or, fail."
Then if it is God's eternal Word, this is part of it. And the portion that I have read to you this afternoon, is the last words that ever fell from the lips of our beloved Saviour. It was the final word to His church universal.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

41 After He'd given them instructions on many things, now He gave them the last and great commission. And if you notice in speaking, He said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Many times, we kind of bring that down to one sign. But it isn't in the singular. It's in the plural. "These signs shall follow them that believe."
And to the best of my knowledge, ever since that commission was given, through every age, they've had portions of these signs following.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

42 Now, the Bible is an Oriental book. It is not a western book. But we are a western people, western ideas, western civilization. And the Bible becomes a new book when you take it in the light of the Oriental customs. They've never changed. They are just the same.
Now, when the Holy Spirit was given a few days (forty days) after this commission... For they were commanded by the Lord not to preach or do anything until first they were endued with power from on high. I think that that's much to blame today for our confusion. Is because we haven't waited for the commission of God. We have went to school and learned theology. That's all well. But theology alone won't produce what Christ said it would produce. Even the teaching of the Word---and rightly set in order ---will not produce these signs.

43 So, no matter if you farmers, if you had ever such good wheat, until that wheat has fell into the ground, and there perished to itself, it'll never spring forth a new life. And so is it with the believer. No matter how well he's instructed, until he can perish in his intellectuals, he will never be borned again.

44 I was talking some time ago to the great, famous evangelist, Billy Graham. Our paths has crossed many times in the world-wide ministry. In Zurich, Switzerland, he closed on Saturday afternoon; I begin on Sunday morning. And in Louisville, Kentucky, I heard him at a breakfast say, "This is the standard."
And how I admire Billy Graham. He's got many of his own kind and his own church against him, because he's took a stand on the Word. But I admire a man that'll stand for his convictions of God's Word.
And he said, "This is the standard. When Paul went into a city and got two converts, he returned the following year and had thirty from them two." Said, "I'll go into the city and have what they call twenty thousand converts, and when I come back the following year, I can't find twenty." Something taken place.

45 Oh, how I wanted to say something. But, of course, I did not. But I wanted to say, "Mr. Graham, you are so right. But here's what it is: They only have the intellectual conceptions of Christ, and Christ cannot function in the intellectuals. It's got to go beyond intellectual. It's got to come to the heart. And the heart is a different mental faculty.

46 Long ago the old scientist used to say, "There is no reasoning in the Word of God, so-called. Because God said in His Word, 'As a man thinketh in his heart...'" And He said, "There is no mental faculties in the heart to think with. So, He meant 'in the mind.'" But if God would have said that, He'd said, "As a man thinketh in his mind." But God doesn't mince any words. He said, "Heart." And He meant, "Heart."
And then two years ago in Chicago, Mr. Mattsson-Boze, which is a personal, bosom friend of mine. His little girl brought a newspaper and said, "Brother Branham, as you was speaking the last time here about the heart. There, medical science had found in the human heart, science had found a little compartment. Animal doesn't have it, just a human. And they said it was the occupant of the soul." So then, God's Word is right. Man has a thinking in his heart.
And as he thinks with his mind, he reasons. And the Bible said, "We must cast down reasoning." So, if you're believing Christ in the reason realm, how can you ever take His Word when you got to cast that aside and let that Word that you have caught with your mind, come down into your heart to a living faith. There's the faith.
"Buy of Me, gold tried in the fire," said the writer of the Revelation---God speaking through him---"the gold that's been tried and put to the test." There you are.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Revelation 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

47 So, we have to cast away reasonings. Then if we believe God, we must be borned again; and when a man's borned again, his nature becomes of his Parent. God has no reasoning powers. He just speaks, and it's so. And we become His children.
No wonder people can't believe in Supernatural. They have no powers to believe with. They try to reason it out. You'll never get it. You just believe it. God said so; that settles it.

48 So Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Now, we've been told that that was just for the apostles alone. Well, if it was, then why did He say, "Go into all the world and to every creature." These signs was to be preached to every creature in all the world. The gospel has never reached all the world or every creature.
As I say with a shamed face as a minister, Christian religion is in about fourth place. Better than two-thirds of the entire world never heard the name of Jesus Christ. Two-thirds of the earth ... the world today never heard that blessed name.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

49 Jesus said, "Into all the world, these signs shall follow."
Someone says now, "That meant to all the world then. And they did evangelize the world then."
Well, if that's so, then Jesus told something wrong in Matthew 24, "When this gospel's been preached to all the world, then the end shall be."
No, just might as well admit that we've laid down on the job. We've went forth and organized churches, built seminaries, educated people, had schools, hospitals; that's all fine, nothing against it. But that's not what Jesus said; He said, "Preach the gospel."
And the gospel come not in word only, but through power and manifestation of the Holy Spirit. The Bible said they went forth preaching everywhere, the Lord working with them, with signs following. In their age, they done exactly what Jesus said.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

50 What about us in this age? What are we trying to do? Now, notice, the prophet said, "There would be a day come, that it would neither be dark nor light. But it would be a dismal day." But he said, "In the evening time it shall be light."
Before the week's over, if the Lord willing, I have in my heart (I've never tried it.) to preach on a sermon, "When the East and the West Meets."

Zechariah 14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

Zechariah 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

51 So, geographically, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Civilization has traveled with the sun. The oldest civilizations are the east, the newer is of the west.
Well, we are at the west coast. East and west has met. Now, we've had two thousand years that's been nothing but a drowsy, dismal day. Now, anyone knows that, no matter how foggy it is, the only light that we have to light the earth is the sun. But there's been so much fog and heavy, that the sun cannot shine through the fog.
And that's the kind of a day we've went through. Through the early age, through Luther, Wesley, on down, we've went through that type of age: enough light till we can know that the Bible was true; we accepted Jesus as Saviour; we made great denominations and organizations and built fine churches and schools. That's fine. But remember, we've fallen short of the first light that shined in Jerusalem.

52 But it's come evening time. That was the light to the eastern people, and the sun is setting in the west. The day's far spent. And the evening light has begin to shine, the same Jesus that raised on the scene in the early days, and sent the Holy Spirit upon the first apostles, and is rising today with healing in His wings to His people.
And we're living in the evening light. Don't become like the Pharisee, or the Sadducee, or the religionists of that day, but walk in the light while there's light to walk in.

53 At this time, I'd like to give just a little personal testimony to this wonderful group of people. I'm sure you would like to know just a little personal testimony of what our blessed Lord has been doing. Then we will close.
I will speak just a moment being that I was on this subject. When we got into South Africa where I had, by the grace of God, I believe the greatest altar call that God ever permitted me to make, there were several of us in the party and a real good Canadian brother, Brother Ern Baxter, which many of you know. And Brother Baxter was along, and we went into Johannesburg. He was there just before I got there.

54 And the Lord did perform such in that night, until the next morning the medical association of all South Africa invited me out for breakfast, and said, "Brother Branham, you've done more good for us now than the missionaries that's come in here the last fifty years."
All the hospitals were open. The newspapers flashed one and two pages completely and the Lord blessed. One man sitting in our audience this afternoon is a witness to this: a South African evangelist, Brother Thoms, sitting to my right.

55 And it was in that meeting that Brother Thoms was inspired by the Holy Spirit, and he moved out into a field of evangelism to the colored man, as we know it, there as the native, and has done marvelous work, saving of thousands of souls. And he's over here now to visit with us on a little trip.
It had come to the place where that one day Mr. Jackson, another friend of mine, was coming down. And the advertisement had been put out in Africa, and there was a little cub lion there on the floor at the little restaurant where he was putting up for the day for some lunch.

56 And there, this little cubby playing, the man said, "What do you have?"
He said, "Fill up my tank with petrol." And then he said, "I want some cookies and tea." As the African people are very English habits of their tea. Lot of that still in Canada. I drank so much tea till I thought, if you'd stick me with a pin, I'd bleed tea, just tea every few minutes.

57 And then when he was having a tea, said, "Are you on your road where?"
He said, "To Johannesburg."
Said, "Do you have business there?"
Said, "No, I'm going to see the meeting that Mr. Branham is coming from America. They're going to hold a great service and pray for the sick."
He said, "If I hadn't have already put your petrol in that tank, I would not even service your car---a man that would degrade the rights to go to such a fanatic as that." Two days later, he passed by, and the man run out and grabbed him in his arms. And he said, "Oh, please tell me, did you shake hands with the evangelist? Have you seen these great things take place?"

58 What is it? It's the power of the resurrected Jesus. It changed Africa overnight. And I will never forget the closing meetings at Durban, where it's hard to estimate crowds. Some said, "A hundred and twenty-five thousand." Some said, "Two hundred thousand." You can never tell. And that doesn't matter.
But when many had been challenged, many interpreters where you'd have to speak, and then you could have a drink of water before they got through the interpreters. The Zulu, the Songhai, Kozas, and Basuto, many of those tribes had gathered in; fenced off, because they have tribal wars too.

59 Sidney Smith, the mayor of Durban, which is the (I suppose could be classed as the Miami of the United States.) ... a great summer resort, beautiful place. Their architecture there is far beyond anything we have in the states.
And in there... While we were going out, Mr. Smith take me, he said, "Mr. Branham, there has never in the history of Africa, ever seen such gatherings and such interest."
And I said, "It's because of the Lord Jesus."

60 And on the road out, I met men---black men, what we know as the colored people. And they were very primitive, some of them naked. And to tell you how primitive they are, a lady gave birth to a baby, sitting right twenty feet from me, and just picked up the baby, and spanked it a little, and went to nursing her baby, and never paid a bit attention. There was no hospitals with pink covers and walls, and four or five specialists standing around.
I wonder if all of our science hasn't weakened us a lot beside the other harms. Then I noticed, I said, "That man has got a tag on his neck."
He said, "Well, he is a Christian."
"Oh."
He said, "The missionaries has tagged him." Said, "He's a Christian."
"Well," I said, "How is it he's packing an idol?"
And he said, "I can speak Songhai; you just ask him."

61 So we drove up on the side of the street. I'd never appeared before them yet. They didn't know us. So I drove up, and I said... Said, "Call him anything."
And I said, "Thomas, are you a Christian?"
"Oh, yes, sure," he answered in his native language. He was a Christian.
I said, "Why do you have the idol?"
"Oh," he said, "That was God, too." If Amoyah... I believe that's the right name, Brother Thoms. Amoyah, means "an unseen force, the wind." "If that happens to fail the unseen God, this one wouldn't." And he could get things from this idol that he couldn't get from Amoyah, because he got healing from his idol. I'll answer that after a bit.

62 And the missionary told him... And 'course in reading to him the Bible, what Jesus did, those days were past. So he come to find out, that's the weakness of our missionary.
And so he carried the idol. And he said, "A idol had power." He said his father packed the idol. And one day a lion got after his father, and he set the little idol down and built up a little fire, and said a prayer the witch doctor told him, and the lion run away.
I told him that I was a hunter, and I hunted lions. And the prayer never run the lion away. The fire run the lion away, 'cause an animal's afraid of fire. Oh, well, he'd pack it anyhow. Now, do you call that conversion? No.

63 And after the meeting that day... There was no way of giving out prayer cards. Billy, my boy, went down and give out prayer cards. He come home and showed me, he had no neck tie, no pockets, or nothing. So, he said, "Daddy, it would be easier to go into a lions' den. For those people grabbing for those cards, they tore my clothes off." Said, "I had to get away." So I said... We could not give out prayer cards, so I said, "I want some missionaries of each tribe and each people here to go out and bring two people out of each tribe."
So, I spoke to them the Bible of Jesus being the resurrected Christ. There sat Mohammedans, thousands. And they're the hardest to change; they're from the old Medo-Persians, who alter not or change not.

64 So, when they brought them to the platform, the first one to my memory was a Mohammedan woman---the red dot between her eyes, a middle-aged woman. And I said, "You are a Mohammedan."
She said, "Yes." Through her interpreter.
And I said, "Well, why do you come to me as a Christian to help you? Why don't you go to your priest?" She said she believed that I could help her. I said, "I can't help you. But if you believe Jesus Christ, He will help you." She finally caught onto it. And I said, "If the Lord Jesus has raised from the dead and will do the same thing here that He did when He was here on earth, will you believe Him?" Yes, she would. "Will you accept Him as your Saviour?" She put up her hand, she would.
And the Holy Spirit came down and told her who she was, what she had done, where she had been, and she started weeping and accepted Christ as personal Saviour.

65 The next was a little black boy out of the Zulu tribe. The Zulus are great, strong people. This little boy had just eaten his dinner. Maybe some of you little children would like me to tell you what he has for dinner. All right, they take a porcupine quill and pick the throat, jugular vein of a cow. And they let water ... or, the blood run into what they call a cup. It's a ... it's a little sack of leather. And then when it gets about half full, they pinch the vein and then milk some milk down in there, and take a stick and churn it. Oh, it makes a delicious lollipop. Aren't you glad you live in Canada? All right. But that's...

66 And his little belly was just as bloody as it could be from the blood of the animal, that had went over his little stomach. And he was so cross-eyed, the little fellow had to hold his head sideways to see. And when he'd turn his little head, I said, "Now, anyone can see the little one cross-eyed. Now, if I could help the little boy and wouldn't do it, I'd be a hypocrite." But I said, "I can't help him. But if the Holy Spirit, who knows the child, will reveal what's caused this, then what will you believe?" That was... The Mohammedan was first; this was the native. And the Zulus was sitting up there by the thousands.
And the Holy Spirit said this: "The little baby has been born among Christian people. And its father and mother is tall and thin." Which is very contrary to Zulus. They're heavy. [Gap in the audio.]

67 And I said, "For in the hut where the little baby was born, I see a picture of Christ hanging on the wall." And the father and mother about a hundred and fifty yards away raised up, that that was true. And there was the people, just the description. I said, of course, I couldn't heal him, but I could pray. And when I looked back, the little black fellow was just a laughing, and his little eyes was just as straight as mine.
A doctor at the platform run forward and wanted to question me. Mr. Baxter and Mr. Bosworth was getting him from the platform. And ... so I understood that there was fuss. He said, "I want to speak to the man just a moment. What happened to that baby?" Nothing, of course, that I did.

68 So, finally, I turned around, I said, "What do you want, doctor?" He wanted to know how I knowed he was doctor. So he said, "I want to ask you, Mr. Branham, what did you do to that baby?"
I said, "Nothing. I wasn't in twenty feet of him."
He said, "Mr. Branham, did you hypnotize that child?"
I said, "Do you mean to tell me that they've give you license to practice medicine and know no more about hypnotism than that?" If hypnotism will straighten a child's eyes, you'd better start practicing hypnotism."
He said, "I put the child on the platform. I stood here and looked at him; something happened."
I said, "Jesus Christ healed him."
He said, "Mr. Branham..."

69 And the great lilies... You Canadian people... My wife was just remarking what pretty flower garden, and how your pretty flowers... But oh, you should go to Africa. Some of those calla lilies, both yellow and white, measure eighteen inches across. The prettiest things you ever seen grow wild, right out in the jungle. And they had great big bouquets of those sitting on the platform.

70 This little fellow said, "Mr. Branham, I know that there is a life in that lily. And it could not live unless that life was in it, and I believe that life is God." He said, "but is He tangible enough to make a cross-eyed boy receive his sight normal?"
I said, "You just have to take my word for it. There's the boy was cross-eyed five minutes ago. Here you've got him in your hand, and he can see. Jesus Christ who is omnipresent is here, and has give the boy his sight."

71 And they started taking him from the platform, he run to. Said, "Then I accept Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour." And when leaving at Johannesburg a few days later, this doctor run out on the ramp where thousands of people had gathered to say goodbye, and he run out on the ramp and grabbed me around the waist and begin crying and said, "I'm called to the mission field to be a medical missionary." And begin to speaking with unknown tongues, out on that ramp.
And I said, "Wonderful." Now, I don't... I can go into that a little later about that. However, that day when the Lord Jesus challenged, and a great mighty miracle taken place on the platform, to a boy that was there, mental deficiency, crippled up. And the Holy Spirit said, "Now, his brother, he's thinking of him, and he's here in the crowd somewhere; he was hurt, either riding a dog or a goat; it was yellow. And he fell and hurt his knee, and he's crippled, walks on crutches. But "Thus saith the Lord," the boy's healed."

72 Way down maybe two city blocks, I heard a scream, and here come the boy with the clubs over his head, perfectly normal and well. Then when I looked, I saw a shadow; it was a vision that the man was going to be healed. And I said, "How many in this audience will receive Christ as personal Saviour if this young man is healed---everywhere, of all the tribes?" And I prayed and asked our dear blessed Lord. And that man raised to his feet, perfectly normal and well, even mentally well.
And as the tears run down his cheeks upon his black body, I had the privilege of seeing thirty thousand raw heathens come to Jesus Christ at one time. Thirty thousand would be ten times bigger than Pentecost. "The things that I do shall you also. Greater than this shall you do, for I go unto My Father."

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

73 I say unto you this afternoon, my dear beloved believer and fellow citizen of the kingdom of God, the great commission is just as much in force today, as it was the days when it fell from the lips of Jesus Christ.
If He doesn't do the same thing in this meeting that He did in the days gone by, then I'm a false prophet. But If He does, and you fail to receive Him, you are a sinner. The word sinner means "unbeliever." "Go ye and disbelieve no more, or worse things will come upon you." There's only one crossing line between a sinner and a saint; that's faith. "He that believeth not, is condemned already," said Jesus Christ.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

74 So, the great commission... What's made our places in the condition it's in today, is because we have not carried out the great commission of the resurrected Jesus, of His power and His love to His church.
Now, I have nothing against any church or any denomination, for I call a Lutheran, Presbyterian, Anglo-Sax---ever what he is---Pentecostal... I don't belong to any church. I am not Pentecostal. I am not Presbyterian. Yet I am a Nazarene, Pilgrim Holiness, Pentecostal Baptist. I belong to all of them. I am your brother, and I'm here to be a service and a blessing to you, and I know that you'll be a service and a blessing to me. May God see to this, that the meeting will have a great unction, that'll make every church through the provinces prosper by this meeting and God get glory. Shall we bow our heads just a moment.

75 Blessed, heavenly Father, in Thy presence we feel our need. As we read the sacred writings of this Book, and we feel our great need of a living Christ in the day of skeptics. And Thou hast foreseen this and knowed it, for You said the day would come when they'd be heady, high-minded, love pleasure more than God, and have a form of godliness, but would deny the power thereof.
Thou has also said, "I will not leave you comfortless. I will pray the Father, and He will send you another Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit. A little while and the world will see Me no more, yet ye shall Me for I (personal pronoun), I will be with you, even in you to the end of the age."

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

76 We most humbly accept that and believe it to be a real truth of God. And Lord, seeing that the day is far spent and the evening lights are shining... O Lord, let us now hasten quickly; let us redeem the time; let us be up and doing to make every effort that we can to see that every soul is saved, that's been ordained of God to be saved.
As we stand here feeling as fishermen, as Thou hast said, "The kingdom of God is likened unto a man that took a net and went to the sea, cast it in and drew all kinds."... As we want to fish on this corner, when we throw the gospel net, may it catch every fish, Lord, for the kingdom. Grant it, Lord. Let us have favor in Thy sight. And we know we will receive it, because Jesus has told us, "Ask the Father anything in My name, I will do it." And we believe it and wait for Your blessings as humble children. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

Matthew 13:47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

77 (Do you have a word, or shall I dismiss the audience?) You know, there's a lovely old song. If the pianist will come just a moment, or maybe, if not, we could just sing it without the music. Sometimes, I like to sing without the... I can't sing, but I love to try it. The Bible said, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord." And maybe that's all I do, but I get a lot of joy out of doing it.

Psalm 66:1 To the chief Musician, A Song or Psalm. Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:

Psalm 81:1 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

Psalm 95:1 O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

Psalm 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Psalm 98:4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Psalm 98:6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.

Psalm 100:1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

78 I would like to introduce Brother Robert Thoms at this time. Many of you might want to shake his hand, from South Africa. Would you stand up, Brother Thoms, from all the way from South Africa to be with us in the meeting? The Lord bless you, my brother. Dr. Lee Vayle is sitting by him there. One of my coworkers and friends, Dr. Lee Vayle, would you stand up? He's the pastor of the First Baptist church in Lima, Ohio, where the Baptists and so forth give us a great auditorium, and we had a great meeting where many great signs and wonders were done. Glad to see you, brethren. And sorry I don't know the gentleman between you there, but it must be some friend. Is it Brother Wilson, is it? All right, Brother Wilson, I guess you're well known here, and the Lord bless you, Brother Wilson. All right.

79 Now, until we meet now at six o'clock, either Billy or this boy here... My little boy has growed up since I was here before. And I got another little boy, Joseph. Many of you remember me prophesying a little Joseph would come. Years passed before he come.
And one of the sweetest little things happened a few nights ago. I was at the Christian Businessmen's convention in Chicago, and Brother Thoms had just come over on a ship. And the people of Africa had made him a coat of many colors, and Brother Thoms had brought it. I'm sending his picture back. And Brother Thoms, I find out that that little coat has five different colors, and five is the number of redemption: J-E-S-U-S, F-A-I-T-H, and so forth. Well, that's very fine.

80 Until we meet now, let us try to sing this song, one verse. How many knows, "Take the Name of Jesus With You."? Oh, that's wonderful. Shall we stand now just for a moment. Now, I've got myself in trouble. How am I going to start it?
...... name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe;
It will joy and comfort give you,
Take it everywhere you go.
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of Heaven.
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy...

81 How many Methodists is here? Raise your hands. Come on, Methodists, put up your hands now. That's good, all right. Baptists, you put up your hands. All right, that's fine. Presbyterian, put up your hand. All right, good. Nazarene, put up your hand. Oh, that's fine. All right. See, we're all made up of different one. Now, here's what I... How many Christians is here, put up your hands. Good.

82 Now, I used to ranch a little, herd cattle. And up on the Arapaho Forest in Colorado where we used to run the cattle in the early spring for the grazing, I used to sit there with my leg wrapped around the saddle horn and watch the cattle go through. The ranger counted the cattle.
Now, there was some went through there... Our brand was a tripod. The next man was a turkey trot. The next man was a diamond tee, the lazy "R," and different cattle went through with different brands. The ranger never questioned that. As they went through, he counted them.

83 But the main thing was that every cow that passed through that gate had to be a registered Hereford. That's the way it's going to be in heaven. All you Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, you might have brands, but you have to be a borned-again Christian. We all go in on that. Isn't that right? Yes, sir.
Now, while we sing,
At the name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at His feet,
King of kings of the heaven and crown Him,
When our journey is complete.
Let's turn right around and shake hands with each other while we're doing that. And, Brother Vayle, won't you come here to dismiss the audience if you will. All right, all right.
At the name of Jesus bowing,
(Turn right around now and
shake hands with everybody here.
That ... just... Somebody at
your [unclear words]. That's right.)
O King of kings in heaven we'll crown Him,
When our journey is complete.
Precious name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of heaven;
......... and joy of heaven.
Now, get on the phone; call somebody; do something. Get the people out, so we can get the sinners in, get them saved to the Lord Jesus. Bring the sick out so God can heal. We're expecting the exceedingly abundantly. Now, while we bow our heads, while I ask Dr. Lee Vayle from Lima, Ohio, to dismiss the audience.

The Great Commission

1 Thank you, Brother Vayle. And I want to say good morning to each and every one of you here. And it's certainly a grand privilege of being here in this Chattanooga area again to place my ... a part of my ministry in the help of you brethren to continue the work that has already been established, our Lord Jesus, to build upon this principle. And we are enjoying this meeting. Long has it lived in my heart, the last meeting that we were here together. And much waters went down the river since then, many things has been done, many battles has been fought and won for our Lord.

2 And this morning it's such a wonderful thing to be here at the table with you men and women, you fellow citizens of the kingdom of God, brothers and sisters of like precious faith. You're aware that I'm not a speaker; I just love to say what I can for His glory, knowing if I have a voice, I want to use what I have got for His glory. And I wish I was a speaker as Brother Vayle and many of you people, but God never called me for that. I was called for another type of ministry. And I wouldn't try to take Brother Vayle's place, or your place. It would be just as hard for me to take his place probably, as for him to take my place. So we just abide in our calling and do what we can for the great kingdom of God.

3 I'm glad to be back down in the good old South again. You know there's something about the southern states that I like. I was born on this soil down here, you know; so there's something about it, like coming back home. And I get way up in the North, they say "Hey, say fellow, you must be from the South." I thought I spoke English until I went to England. I needed an interpreter in England worse than anywhere I ever was at. Every time I would speak, they would say, "What part of Texas you from?" I just couldn't make out. But when they talked, "Way down here," you know, that real far.

4 I went to the corner one time in London. I was going down to find the Westminster Abbey. I'm not a mimic by a long ways, but I'm going to try to impersonate something. There was a gentleman standing on the corner with a cane over his arm, a regular English Cockney and I said, "How do you do, sir?" He looking over his glasses, spoke to me. And I said, "Could you tell me how to get to the Westminster Abbey?"
Frowned a little bit, looked at me, he said, "Certainly, ol' choppy," he said, "you go three blowks this way, you turn three blowks that way, go straight ahead," said, "you cawn't miss it."

5 Brother David duPlessis is about the only one would understand that here, I guess, this morning. Oh, I knew I wasn't very much on the English. But I enjoyed being with men every where, because they're creatures of God.
And now, to try to... As usually on a Christian Businessmen's Breakfast, I usually kind of preach a little bit to those fellows. But now before ministers I wouldn't try that, see. But I just want to read some Scripture. Because every gathering we are supposed to read the Scriptures and so forth. I think it...

6 Back in the early days when they used to meet, they broke bread, took the communion, every time they met. And I like that, too. Course, we're out of that practice. But I like to read just a portion of His Word, where if we don't get nothing else but this, this will be fine. It's found the last commission of our Lord. And a man's last will should be the one that's sufficient. And here's what He said to His church, the last words as He left the world. Found in Mark the 16th chapter, 14th verse beginning:
After he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them of their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; ... he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
If they ... take up serpents; or if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
So ... after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, ... confirming the word with signs following.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Amen.

7 This is known as the great commission. It was the last words that our Lord spoke. And the first time He sent out His disciples, in Matthew 10, we find that He gave them a commission to go heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: as freely as you have received, freely give. And the last commission He give, to go into all the world, just continue as they did at the first: heal the sick and lay hands on the sick and cast out devils.
It's a privilege for me, brethren, to stand with men like you, shoulder-to-shoulder, in this great fight [Break in tape.] world called Christianity, and take my position by your side as a one who believes that that commission is still just as essential as it was the hour it was given. And in this great field that we are in, we find, many times, that we come with the order of different denominational phases of the Scripture. Some of them... Christ's commission here was to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

8 Now the Gospel doesn't only consist of the Word only, but through the power and the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Cause the only way that it could be done, for these signs to follow, would be the Word to take life. So it would have to be the Holy Spirit that would give life in the Word to produce these signs. You brethren believe that.
Then after leaving the Baptist church and coming over with my Pentecostal brethren, because I seen that they had something; they believe this. But I found different denominations, first ... first group I found was what many determines, as many of you brethren, perhaps of the same denomination here this morning: Oneness. Well, that's what I thought they call them Pentecost for. Well then, I met some fine men.

9 Wasn't long after that till I found there was another group. And they were called the Trinitarian. Then I found another group, called the Jesus Only. Then they found the different factions like the Assemblies of God, and the Church of God, and the Church of Prophecy, all these.
Now here is where I want to explain to you brethren, see. I would not dare, in any means, to try to start something new. I believe that you brethren, and your fathers, back in the early days when they went forth with this blessing, forty years ago when I was a baby in my mother's arms. You never went forth under some little emotional mental work-up; you went forth with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And you founded something; you've laid down a foundation. God forbid that I'd be one man to try to build on any other foundation. If God laid that foundation, we build on that foundation, because I believe it's founded in the Word of God.

10 Therefore, that's the reason today that I don't belong to the different groups, or take sides with either one. I'm not here to take sides with groups; I'm here on a principle I'm standing for. And that principle is the kingdom of God. The Church of God's building on this principle of it here, here's Assemblies of God over here, and the Oneness in here, and different ones, how the groups are arranged around the interdenominationals. But it's all (should be, and I believe it is) built principally upon Christ. So that's the reason I don't take sides with the groups. Is to say, "I will be a Church of God." That would be fine. I'd just as soon belong to the Church of God, as the Assemblies. And I'd as soon belong to the Assemblies, as I would the Oneness, or whatever it is. It doesn't matter to me. But there's one great storehouse, one great principle, that's Christ.

11 And that's why I stood with you brethren in this manner, that I could shoulder side-by-side with you and help you bear the burden, and stand the reproach with you, with a joy in my heart, to know that I took sides with what I think is right, based upon the Scripture. And when I come to the city, that's the reason I like to come on the interdenominational scale: that everybody is welcome, every person and every one. That's the way we like it.
And if a man has got to work, if he's a denomination or independent, as long as he's building on Christ, I'm shoulder-to-shoulder with him. If he's a Methodist, or a Baptist, or a Presbyterian, or a Lutheran, whatever it is, I want to shoulder with him anyhow.

12 And may I drop this little thing to you brethren, as I know you're different denominations. I think... I've never talked like this to a group of people, but in this locality here, and throughout the nation is becoming now. If the devil can keep us separated... He's got us shooting at one another, so he's got an open target any where he wants to shoot. And what's the use of shooting; we're shooting one another? See, see. So he can just sit back and relax.
But did you ever... Let me just give you... If I have found grace in your sight through God, you take my word for this, brethren. If you want to be a blessing, and get a blessing; when a man has done you wrong, and he has absolutely justly ... I mean, he has done you wrong and you know that he has done you wrong. He has done you evil. Don't mention that; you take him to prayer before God. And don't take it in a way of just a selfish and say, "Well, I'm supposed to do this." But stand with your shoulder to his shoulder, and stand in the presence of God our Father, way a prayer should be made, in the presence of God. Say, "Father, here's my brother, and he is justly ... he deserves punishment because he has done me evil. And I don't see why he did it."

13 Then let God go to talking to you. And you'll see maybe, what that man has been through. The devil has twisted him up somewhere and caused him to do that, though he's absolutely wrong. Before you leave the Throne of God, you'll be feeling sorry for that man. You'll be sympathizing with that brother. And when you get back down to earth again, you'll go over to that brother and shake his hand, 'cause you know what he has been through. You can not stand with a mortal in the presence of God and condemn anybody, I don't believe, no sir, even if he is a rank sinner.
And what about a brother that has made a mistake? Though I say he's wrong. Sometimes he's accused wrong when he's not wrong. But if he is wrong, if we will take him to the Throne of God, stand there shoulder-to-shoulder with our brother, knowing he's a mortal, and maybe his destination rests upon our attitude towards him. When we come back from the Throne of God, we will realize that we're every one guilty, and we all need help, one from the other. And the best way to do, is pray.

14 Now, these great principles, the great church of the living God, if it wouldn't have to say, "Now we'll all belong to this organization, or that one,"---if they would unite in heart, one accord---there'd be a revival strike this world like it has never seen. If the people who have the Pentecostal experience would just unite in heart together, let their denominations run any way they want to. What difference does these little frictions and so forth, it's just the devil trying to keep the great church in a turmoil all the time. After all, in Acts 10:35 it's written that God is no respect of person or nation, but He has honor for those who serve God and do righteous, see. We know that's true: God respects the person that has got...

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

15 In the ministry I think this morning that it would be good for me to say this, to show you what an effect it has. The American people, you brethren, are in the hardest field there is anywhere. I've been in Africa, India, through ... practically the world over. But I have never seen a field so hard to battle as here---America. This needs missionaries worse than anywhere I ever seen in all my life. For an educated heathen is harder to deal with than an uneducated heathen. Heathen is an unbeliever. And you have that. And you got to battle here... The missionary may have a lot of stuff to contend with, malaria and ameba and so forth like that. But he don't have the demon spirits to deal with. I mean those demons that's got into culture-minded men. Oh, you talk about something hard to deal with.

16 Recently I had a breakfast with a bunch of ministers. And I say this with respect, brethren. I would've rather had a breakfast with a bunch of witch-doctors (now that sounds horrible to say) than these men. I would of had a better reception, I'd a had a more agreeing spirit with a bunch of witch-doctors, many times, than I would with that bunch of ministers. Such a horrible thing. God deliver us from such.
We are so intellectual. Everything is moved away from the Spirit; it's the Word, it's Word, it's Word. God... Sure, I believe in the Word, but if the Spirit don't agree with the Word, then you got something mixed up somewhere.

17 Look at when Cain, he was just as religious as and just as much with the Word as Abel was. It was a revelation that made the difference. They both worshipped, they both brought sacrifices, they both built altars, they both belonged to church, they both were sincere, they both worshipped. So God ought to respect sincerity and fundamentalism. Why didn't He respect Cain? But through revelation, Abel, being just, by revelation (no Scriptures in them days), God had revealed it to him that it wasn't fruit---apples and oranges---taking us out of the garden of Eden; it was blood, the life.

18 On their journey, the children of Israel, they come up against the children of Moab. Moab, the land of Moab was not infidelic; they believed in the same God that Israel believed in. And they were all organized together, tightly, great nation. Israel dwelt in tents that had no nation. I don't say this to be rude now; I say it for a point. Israel more like a interdenominational. It had no land of its own, as yet. And it was moving up.
They asked permission to pass through their brothers' land. And what did they get? Turned down. And they had Balaam come out and build his altars, seven altars. You notice he put seven clean sacrifices on it, bullocks. And he also put seven rams: speaking of Christ's coming. And down in the camp of Israel was just this same sacrifice.

19 So fundamentally, Moab was just as fundamental as Israel was. But the thing that they failed to see is what the world is failing to see today. And the prophet up there failed to see it. Balaam thought surely that a holy God would condemn a people like that. But he failed to see that smitten rock, that brass serpent, and the pillar of fire, the signs and wonders. God has always dwelt with people. Where God was, signs and wonders taken place. It has always been.
That's the way they look at the Pentecostal church today. Oh, they're all bunched up, they are this, that, and the other. But who isn't? Tell me one church that isn't. Look at our Baptist church, look at the denominations, and off-springs: the Free Baptist, a Hard Shell Baptist, Primitive Baptist, thirty some odd different sections of them. Just as bad as Pentecostal. And they fuss and fight with one another the same way. Look at the Methodist church. Even the Catholic church, any of them.

20 But what they fail to see... They climb onto you brethren a lot of times, because the newspapers. You make a mistake, let one of our brethren make a mistake and do something immorally. Watch the newspapers across the country will spread it just as hard as they can. That's the devil. But let one of these other ministers do it, it hushed down.
But on the books of heaven it's just the same, that's right. The reason I take my shoulders with you brethren, there's a shout of the King in the camp. There's signs and wonders following these people. They make their mistakes, and they get a lot of isms, and a lot of nonsense. You know that, brethren; we might as well face it. That's right. We got a lot of things that goes on of impersonations and so forth that isn't right, but there's a real thing there too. That's right.

21 When Jesus came, He was just as fundamental as the Pharisees. The Pharisees couldn't believe it. But Jesus was fundamental. But there was signs and wonders following His ministry. Where the Pharisees had the Word just the same as He had, the same Word. But it's a spiritual revelation. Jesus witnessed to it when He come off the mountain, and He said, "Who does men say I, the Son of Man, am?" One said Elisha and one said it was a prophet, and so forth. But He said, "But who do you say?"
And Peter said, "Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God."
Now the Catholic church says that Peter was the rock, and upon this rock the church is built. The Protestant church says it was upon Jesus, the rock. Not to be different (let them believe what they wish to, as long as it's on Christ), but I differ from both views. I believe that it was not upon Peter that the church was built; neither was it upon Christ, the church was built; but it was upon the spiritual revelation that He was the Christ, see.

Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Matthew 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Matthew 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mark 8:27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?

Mark 8:28 And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

Luke 9:18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

Luke 9:19 They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

Luke 9:20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

22 "Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you," (some seminary, some school, some theology, some intellectual), " Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father which is in heaven; upon this rock I will build My church." The spiritual revelation, not by Word, not by denomination, not by creed, not by so forth, but upon spiritual revelation that Jesus is the Christ, I will build My church.
Now you might believe that in your mind; when you believe that in the heart, you got eternal life. Jesus said in Saint John 5:24: "He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has eternal life." Take that word eternal and see what it means. Run it back in the Greek, you will find it's Zoe, "God's own life." You got immortal life in you, because what? You have believed on Him being the only begotten Son of God and accept Him as your personal Saviour. Not by intellectual, but by a birth, how God has brought it down and revealed it to you by spiritual revelation.

Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

23 Faith cometh by hearing. Faith is hearing, when you hear it. But faith isn't the thing. For instance, I'm here, I'm starving to death, and I ask you for a loaf of bread. And you give me twenty-five cents. That's the purchase power of a loaf of bread. Now I can rejoice just as much with the twenty-five cents as I could with a loaf of bread. But yet, it's not the loaf of bread. It's not the loaf of bread. But I can be happy with it. I will keep the twenty-five cents knowing, "Thank you, sir, my life shall now be saved." But I haven't got the bread. You get what I mean? See, by faith you are saved, but it's a revelation of Christ that brings the results. You get what I mean? See, that's what I am speaking of.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

24 That's what the world is hungering for. And the reason that the rest of the world isn't coming into the Pentecostal belief as we have it, is because it's our own attitude towards one another. That's truth, brethren. It's because that our indifference to each other. They see one talking against the other, one against the other, and this against that, and this denomination. They're scared of it.
I don't know what the solution is. I've tried it. One wants... If this group will sponsor it, well, the rest of them have nothing to do with it. You can imagine what a position it puts me in? And I say, "Well, if I let this one, the other one won't. Then they won't come together." So I thought, "Well, I will just go without any of them. I will go anyhow." That's wrong. I found that to be wrong. Because in India I had the same thing. Where I guess twice the conversions that happened in Africa, at one altar call. But there was no one there to sponsor it, so where did it go? Back to the temples of Buddha, and so forth. You've got to recognize these organizations, and these places where they got the missions and so forth, to bring your convert to, and these churches throughout the country.

25 So you see what a predicament it puts me in when I try to stand independent? Oral Roberts told me that one time, see. He belongs to the Pentecostal Church of God, I believe, or Pentecostal Holiness Church of God, something, one of those. Anyhow, see, he's represented with a church. Where I stand free from the church, and yet with the church. I'm with the church, the real, the body of Christ through every denomination, trying to pull us together. I wanted to explain that to you so that you brethren would understand.
And now, if you go into a place and have a group of converts, just go and set a meeting up, say, "Here I am." The people will come, that's right. "Where the carcass is, the eagles will be gathered." But what if they become converts, then who's going to take them, who's there to catch it? Who's there to conserve that ... reserve that what you have already caught with the Gospel? Now who's going to pick up the fish? If they're laying on the bank, they will perish. Somebody has got to be there to do that. So you just... I can't work without you, brethren.

Matthew 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Luke 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

26 Oh, if they could all be one in heart.
And for the same principle, and just tear down the little differences. Right here in this city today, Billy Graham can come to this city, and he will start off down here at this little tabernacle full of fifteen, twenty thousand, perhaps, or around, within the amount of time that I've been here. Why? Because they get themselves together, they're in one accord.
If they can do that by the letter, how much more should we do it by the Spirit? See, if a brother, if Oral Roberts, if some of the other brethren, would come to the city, let's go behind it. It's our duties to stand by our brethren, see. It's right. And then what does that do? It shows to the public.
If we don't, then what does it do to the public? You see... Look at them, here, they got this guy in here, see. See what I mean? That's what takes place.

27 Now, the effects of a revival can long be felt if... And it'll benefit the church of God. If we had hundred converts tonight, and one went to each one of you brother's churches, see, whatever it was. That's not just affecting only your church, your church, and your church, but it's affecting the kingdom of God through each one of these places.
There's where I am trying to build for, is here. Down here it doesn't matter to me if they want to be baptized this way, that way. What difference does that make anyhow? God give you the Holy Ghost with your peculiarities, He give me the Holy Ghost with my peculiarities. And God gives those the Holy Ghost who obeyed Him. Now who obeyed Him? See. There you are, see.

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

28 We just draw these little straws and things, and that's just what the devil wants. But I believe, my brethren, that there is coming an hour that when a real rank persecution will run us together, then we will be one; the church will come together. I believe it's all in the making of God, after painting this picture to you.
When Solomon's temple was built, it was cut out all over the world. And one block was sawed this way and one that way. But when they come together, every stone went to its place without a sound of a hammer, or the buzz of a saw. And it was the church of the living God.

29 And I believe that through the church of God of Prophesy and the other great church, the Lee College, or whichever it is here, and through you Assembly brethren, through you independent brethren, and through you Oneness brethren, and through all of you, that God is cutting out stones. Some day that Master Stone, that Rejected Stone... When the church got so far up, they found out they had a freak stone; they couldn't find no place it fit. But they come to find out that was the chief corner stone. And it think, brethren, one of these days, we're going to realize that chief corner stone is the love of God, Christ, in our hearts, that'll bind every one of us together as one. Then the great church will be capped over and God will take it to glory.

30 In the services... I might give you just a little view of some things that's happening so that you can see where our Lord God, the great Shepherd of the flock, how He does move in miraculous ways. I said this this morning so that you brethren could understand. If someone said, "Is Brother Branham a Assembly? Is he a Oneness?" Yeah, I'm Assembly, I'm a Oneness, I'm a Church of God, I'm a Pilgrim Holiness, I'm a Nazarene. I belong to Christ, which all of you belong to, you see. And so, I do belong to each one of you brethren. We're brothers together, see. And now, that's the way we want to live, that's the way we want to act.

31 In your family, your own children, there's hardly two of them that will agree with one another, but they are the same family, sure, they are. They might differ in features, they might differ in appetite, they might differ in every way, but yet they're one family. And we're the family of Christ. I'm not trying to say, "Jimmy, I'm with you. John, I'm against you." I'm saying, "Jimmy and John, we're both in the same family." You see what I mean? We're all working together on this farm to make a living for the family.
Now, that's the way I stand. If anybody happen to ask you, any time, you just let that be known, brethren. I'm having an awful time, awful struggle, it sure is. But I've got a hope that someday our blessed Lord will come.
The trumpet of the Lord shall sound,
and time shall be no more,
The morning breaks eternal, bright and fair;
And when His chosen Ones (Church of God,
Assemblies, and all)
When the chosen ones shall gather to their
home beyond the skies,
When the roll is called up yonder, I'll
be there.

32 I will be there with you brethren, one heart, one accord, never to be apart no more. That's the day we're laboring for.
How much time we got? [Someone says, "However much you want to take."] Let me have just another ten minutes. Just for a testimony. Is it all right, brother; you all in too big a hurry?
I like to tell you a little experience somewhere, of something happening. Just along in the meeting, I do not like tell these things in the meeting, because it might sound personal. You brethren are men. You understand.

33 The meeting in India not long ago: I want to tell you the infallibility of visions. I'd had a vision recently of going over to India and into Africa. And the Lord had told me, He said, "You go to Africa first, then up to India." And through some mix-ups and so forth, the manager said to me... I don't want to refer as manager. I never say to Brother Vale, being manager. We've got one manager, that's the Holy Spirit, see. Brother Vale is my associate, he's my brother. He just happens to be making the arrangements for the meetings, and helping me along. And he is no more manager of my meetings than I am of yours, or... The rest of you are the same. We're just all one great big family and one big body. We're not one above the other, we're all just the same; we're a unit of God working together.

34 And I wrote the vision immediately after I had the vision that morning. And then when the manager, as we call him that for the time being, had made arrangements to go into India. And he didn't kind of like Africa very much. So he said to me in Chicago, he said, "Brother Branham, let's just by-pass Africa and go on to India."
I said, "That is up to you, brother, wherever the Lord wants me to labor, all right."
I feel that, brethren, tonight in here. Whether we have... I would rather be down here in this meeting with five people attending in that six thousand auditorium, and be in the will of God, than to have the place turning away five thousand every night, and be out of the will of God, see. The main thing is do the will of God, whether it's small, or whether it's great, whatever it is.

35 I just held a revival in a church that held twenty people, a revival. I don't have any television, I don't have any programs to sponsor or anything; people just pay the expense, and that's all there is to it, see, see. And so I don't want any of those things. If I do, I am obligated.
You think our dear Brother Oral Roberts, which is my bosom friend, and a real man of God. Do you think that Oral Roberts could come to a place and hold a meeting for two or three days, in a church that held twenty people? When it takes about seven or eight thousand dollars a day for him to thrive. Certainly, he couldn't. He would like to, but he can't do it. He's under such an obligation. Now I haven't got the brains to do what he's doing, and God knows that, so He lets Oral do that. He just keeps me this way where I can... See, if we just realize our limit---what we can do. So then, I don't have to have money, so that's ... there you are, see. I can go anywhere He sends me.

36 If He wants me to go to Africa and preach to a hundred thousand people, He will produce the money. He has got all of it anyhow, so I don't have to ask for it, so He just gives it to me. If He wants me to go down to the old saint of Timbuktu, Gravel Switch, or somewhere, you know, and preach to ten people, amen, I will go and stay till He tells me it is over. So, that's the way... I try to live that way. And I do not have nothing, no programs to support, or nothing, see.
Now I am not saying... See, now that is my part. Now Brother Oral Roberts, God give him something else to do. And Brother A. A. Allen, and many of those other brethren, who has great radio broadcast and things, they got to have money. I help support them myself, see, I do all that I can, because I realize that's my brother. I couldn't fill his place, and I'm kind of glad that I don't have to, see. Because I haven't got the mental powers to work those things out, and so I just stay the way I am. As Congressman Upshaw used to say, "You can't be nothing that you hain't." That's right. And the quicker we realize that, the better off we will be. You just be what you are. God wants you the way He made you, and just keep that in mind, and be just what... If it's a doormat, be a doormat. I want to be the best doormat He ever had, if I have to be the doormat, or whatever it is in the house of God. Let me serve my office the best that I can for Him.

37 Now, so in Africa, he didn't want to go. And I said, "All right, we won't go."
Then, on the road back I went to my room. And when I did, there was a light hanging there at the door. He said, "You go to Africa like I said." I called brother back in a few minutes and said, "We're going to Africa."
I waited for a year, and finally how I done it I don't know, but another way come up, I found my road on my way back to India. When I met Lisbon, Portugal, where I was to have a meeting there and go on over and had a healing service right in the shadows of the Vatican city in Rome. But while I was in Portugal, I fell sick, I didn't know why. I was out with the Governor, and I was having some fish. And they cook it in olive oil, and my, I was really sick. I was trying to be gentleman to eat it, but I tell you, I was white around the mouth; I was so sick of that old fish, and it cooked in olive oil. So, and he said, "Brother Branham, you look a bit ill."
And I said, "I feel the same way."

38 So when I went down to my hotel room, a doctor come up after while. Honest, I'm not trying to make remarks, but he had a pill there as big as the box atop of that thing, and wanted me to swallow it. I said, "Doctor, I wouldn't give that to my saddle horse." I said, "It's so ... why, you couldn't get it down your throat." I never seen such a pill in my life. And I said, "Can I break it apart?"
He said, "No, swallow it."
And I said, "Well, just a minute till this sickness wears off." I waited till he got out and throwed the thing away. But he was a nice man. And we talked a lot on the Lord Jesus, him being a Catholic. But we talked about the Lord.

39 And then, while I got so sick that night, Billy stood by me, and the rest of them had left me there. And I said, "Billy, I don't think I can make it till morning." And I was just so sick, I just couldn't breathe no more, I was so sick, my breath wouldn't even come hardly, had to force my breath. And that way all night.
And the next morning, I started into the bathtub to take a ... bathroom to get in one of those big tubs, a towel twice the size of these tables. And so I was going to take a bath. There hung that light hanging there. And it said, "Didn't I tell you to go to Africa first?" And I fell on my face and begin weeping. Then I said, "Lord, just let me go somewhere and get me a little cabin out in the mountains, and trap, and hunt like I have always wanted to. I couldn't be Your servant, I haven't even got the mental powers to serve You." I said, "I forgot all about that." And I wrote it down, I got it. I thought I had it in my pocketbook now, but I haven't, but I have got it on paper.

40 Well, I went on, He told me to go on up to India, which I did. And then when I come back thinking for four years now that I disobeyed the Lord. And looking on that vision wrote out, which I have read it hundreds of times. The vision said that I would go to India first, and then back to Africa. But He told me to go to Africa first, and then to India, showing that God knew that I would fail Him, but His Word, what He says, can't fail. The vision actually reads that I would go to Africa first ... or, to India first and then back to Africa. That's where I am on my road to now, just as soon as I can get through with about twenty or thirty meetings I got between now and July, and we go to Africa. Brother, our dear Brother David duPlessis there, has been over, and talking to the brethren and so forth, to get together.

41 In India, I'd like to quote the meeting though, just what taken place. When we went in there, there was no unity. Brethren all separated. One church was sponsoring me and the rest of them wouldn't come in with it because they didn't like that church; see, there you are.
And literally, there's four hundred and seventy million people in India. And Christianity is the weakest religion they got, Christianity. With Catholic and all, we rate about third or fourth place. The Mohammedan is twice or three times our size. That's including all Christianity.

42 And when I got there, because this one church, their principle was, "Sell India to India, we need not the missionary, we need not the Americans." When I landed at Bombay, there stood the Methodist bishop and many of the great men standing there. Said, "Mr. Branham, you coming to India, don't you come here as a missionary." Said, "We know more about the Bible than you Yankees ever did know." Now not critical, but that's the truth. This is an Oriental book, it's not a western book, it's an Eastern book. When you get the eastern view of it, you found a new book. That's right.
Said, "We had the Bible two thousand years before you was a nation." That's right. Saint Thomas went down there. Saint Thomas church, I was at it when we was there. Sure, they've had the Bible two thousand years ever before we was a nation. And we got a western thought, trying to make it compare with an eastern, which is just contrary one to another. All the parables and things the Bible... If you ever come in there and just find the way they live, you could see the Bible just open up a new book to you. Because it's an eastern book wrote in an eastern way of living. And we're a western people in a western way of living.

43 If the Lord willing, this week when I start preaching, I want to preach: When the East and West Meets. Now, no they wouldn't do it because they didn't like this other church because it wouldn't agree upon our brethren. Now to look at it, I said, "Well, that's right. Let's sell America to America."
These the Indian people said, "We want to own our own property. We don't want the Methodist and Baptist and Pentecostal people over in America to own our property. We want to own it ourself, right here; let us have it." Said, "You brothers come over and visit us." That sounded all right, see.
But for me to be there like that, it wasn't all right. Those missionaries had sweated blood in there for years for the things that they've stood for. They died with ameba and with yellow fever, and black water fever, and everything else in there, to bring the Gospel. Should I turn my back on a thing that a man has established like that, for the kingdom of God? I'm his brother; certainly not. About their property, who does it belong to anyhow? God, that's exactly right.

44 But in there, for which I did, and they told me that they couldn't cooperate. That night ... that day the mayor of the city took me down to the temple of the Jains. And Jain, Jan, I forget, Jain. And they're a funny sect. They're more on the order of Catholic. They taken me in to their pope, sitting on a pillow. And just show you the tortures they go through. The men and the women sat making little mops. They wouldn't kill an ant, they can't work, they have to beg everything they get. Four hundred million of those Indians are almost... There's about seventy million of them, I guess, that works, and the other four hundred million is beggars. And they mop the floor as they go, or the ground, to keep from stepping on an ant because they believe in reincarnation: it might be some of their people. They won't kill nothing, not a fly nor flea. A man operated on his own finger, and he died over it, because he wouldn't sterilize the knife that he operated on: afraid he would kill a germ; it might be some of his ancestors on the road back.

45 Now you can see the world living in ignorance like that, and we with the real Gospel---and our guns on one another. See what I mean, brethren. Us fussing, whether I should be a Church of God or Assembly of God. I want to be a child of God; that's it. Now, and a servant of God.
Notice, then in ... these men sitting there in that condition. They couldn't ... they couldn't shave, is a sin to shave. So they had to pull their beards out. And pull their hair out. And oh, the things they had to do, it was terrible.
There this pope sat there, as he was. And I heard there's seventeen, I believe ... or, seven or eight different ones represented there, and me coming in. Each one of them told me how little I was. Why, those Jains, they said, why, they begin before Genesis ever started. And they were so far superior to Christianity. And they have a lot of good points. Here's what that pope said to me, he said, "You people call yourself religious? And you use all your scientists over there, not to try to help someone, but to create atomic bombs to blow one another to pieces." Was he right or wrong?

46 See, every lie has got a lot of truth in it. That's right. Now, if it's a real lie, just a right ... what we call the black lie, or the little white lie. The little white lie is the real lie. You can see the big black lie, but it's that little white one that has got a ... like the one that the devil told Eve, see. Just one little thing off the cater. That's what our churches are listening to today. They're saying, "Oh, you're right in your principle of baptism, you're right in this, and you're right in that." But he fails to let you know you got to have love for that brother out there. Though he's right or wrong, stand shoulders with him, the kingdom of God, and the presence of God.

47 Now, watch this, how God works. And these fellows as they were sitting there, and I felt like, after they had all spoke ... or, several of them had spoke, I felt like I'd be a traitor to Christ if I didn't say something. And I stood up, I said, "Gentlemen," I couldn't call them brethren; they wasn't. I said, "How could you ever accept the blood sacrifice for your sins and won't kill a flea?" I said, "How could you do it?" I said, "Blood is the antidote, blood was the one that brought us from the garden of Eden, and in the blood cell is life.
"It was life, perverted life that brought us to death. It'll take that same blood cell breaking to bring us back to life again. This is a perverted life. And I want you, brethren, no matter how well you try to patch-up and how well you try to do this, and how clean you try to live, and how righteous you try to live, it'll never work. This life in the beginning was condemned by God. And it ain't to be patched up, it's to die and to be born again. It has got to be a birth. There's no other way around it, see."

48 Not be better, join church, quit your meanness. You can do all of that, and still not have eternal life, see. You can join church, you can belong to a denomination, you can live just as straight as a die; those Pharisees did, and Jesus said, "You're of your father, the devil." See.
We're trying to put it on works all the time, something we can do, something we can build. God don't need our buildings. God needs our soul.
And there in that time, that night when I said, "Let God speak, the One that's God tonight." And in the platform... Now that you... I'm doing this ... saying this so that you brethren would see the confidence you can have in God.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

49 In that meeting that night, when they started, there was Rajas on pillows, and there was the Mohammedans, and the Buddhists, it taken me better than two and a half hours to even get to the stand where I was going to preach. The mayor estimated that if I stayed the three days ... or, the five days I was supposed to stay, that it to be five hundred thousand outside people in Bombay. They had heard, they had come.
And I thought, "Well, if these preachers don't want to cooperate, let them alone then." But I made a mistake. I should have turned and come back till I got cooperation. Because that night when we went to the meeting, you couldn't give out prayer cards. There was no way of doing it. So we had the militia to kind of bring up one at a time. And then they...

50 There's thousands times thousands and thousands of thousands of people; who's going to be the first in the prayer line? People that you can't even talk to. But then when the Holy Spirit begin to reveal to them, and begin to tell them, I'd see what there was, spell their name out, I couldn't even pronounce it. The place...
Then I could feel coming in by the Holy Spirit, that it was ... they was thinking it was a telepathy. So I thought, "Lord, if You will just give grace." About three or four had passed. A leper passed, had no arm, and I took him in my arms and begin to love him. He just wept when he seen that somebody cared for him. The world is dying for love, brothers. Now you take your brother in your arms, see if it don't make things a little different, see. That same love that worked on a leper will work on your brother that you think is wrong. That's right, now.

51 And I took him in my arms, and he cried. And about the second after that was a blind man. There'd been another blind man went through, told him who he was, where he come from, and everything. I said, "The Lord God has healed you, brother. Years ago He died for you and your healing is secured. If you just believe it now, go on, get well." Two or three of the lepers had passed through, only thing I saw was who they were and what was... I didn't say no more. That's all I say, is what I can see, and I just quit saying.
Then this one come through, a blind man. It told him who he was, said, "You're a beggar, you got two children, you got a wife, she's a thin woman, told what her name was, and her given name." That was all right. And then when I started to pass him on through, a vision broke. Now, that's when the Lord is speaking. The other is what the man was doing himself. That's what you see on the platform; it's you doing it, not me. It's your own faith doing it.

52 Now, then when that broke, I looked and I seen the man standing before me, he looked a little grayer than what he was there, and he could see, his eyes was open, and he was rejoicing, and talking to people. That's the key note. There it was. I thought, "O God, there it is."
There's no way, brethren. We're eternity bound people and we're going to stand in His presence together one of these days. I mean, face to face with Him. There's no way to explain it. When you know that it's going to happen, there it is. I have never seen it one time ever fail.
The other day, Waterloo, after that bunch of ministers so against me, and I was praying. I thought, "Lord, here I am in a predicament; I don't know what to do." Hundreds of people sitting there, just as cold as it could be, standing there. And of a sudden I heard something. I thought it was an airplane coming in the roof. I looked around at Dr. Vayle and he was looking at the organ, he thought the woman had reversed the organ air. You come to find out, it was electric organ. And here it was coming from above, like a roar. And it come down, my coat begin shaking, it swept out over the building, the people just turned white and fell backward, with their heads back like that. A rushing like a wind, only it wasn't a wind, it was a sound: the Holy Spirit moving through the building ... shake. And we got it on tape.

53 And I thought, "The great Holy Spirit doesn't misbehave Himself anyway." I thought, "I've never seen Him do nothing but what was in the Scripture." And when I went home, I begin praying, "Lord, where would this be if the Holy Spirit acted like that?" In Saint John 12 we see where our Lord was praying and some of them said, when the Father spoke back to Him, said, "It thundered."
God still lives, brethren. And we're looking for something a way out yonder, when we got it right now. This is it. Don't let it pass over you like it has through the ages. Like it did in the days of John the Baptist, they didn't know who he was. People don't know what this Holy Ghost is; it's not something to organize an organization over. Which, I'm not criticizing that, brethren; it's not something to fuss about. It's something to love and to worship. It's not to separate yourselves from one another; it's to bring one another together. We're using it as a tool. Not to better the kingdom of God, when we make ourselves different from each other. We got to make ourselves together with this. Then the real Holy Spirit will bring that to us, brethren. It's just got to; it's Christ's own love for us.

John 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

John 12:29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

54 And notice, to the Indian meeting. There was a man; I seen him standing there like a blue shadow. And when the vision left me, oh, what a feeling, what a feeling. I knew then that it had to happen. It has got to happen, God said so.
Then I could take the floor, I could be boss then, as it was (Pardon that expression)--- not me, but the Holy Spirit working, was the boss. If God would come today and show me a vision that George Washington is going to be raised from the presidential graveyard, I'd invite the world to come watch it done; exactly right. It'll happen if God said so. How can it fail. I'm forty-eight years old, I've seen visions since I was just a little boy of two, and never one time has it failed. To me it's God.

55 If I cannot get the world to see it, what difference? They never seen it in any age. But God is just, He sends it anyhow. Then when it's all over, they say, "Well, we didn't know that. Sure enough, did this happen? I didn't know it." Oh yeah, it has always been that way. It's that way today, brethren; you listen. This is the hour, this is the day. You're looking for something out yonder, and the devil trying to place something off out yonder at some time, you're going to be in the Millennium before you know it. It's at the end-time now.
So then when this vision come and the blind man was seeing. Then he was still standing there. I said, "Now, to you gentlemen today," we was in the Jains temple. "And you all were saying that you started before Genesis, and how insufficient this God was, and how that all of His disciples did this, that and the other," so forth. And I said, "I know your thoughts. You're thinking that I am reading telepathy, because this is all you have ever seen, is right here. Now that's what is in your mind." But I said, "Here is a blind man." And the man has just witnessed that he went blind, which the Spirit told him, twenty years ago from watching the sun, he worshipped the sun. And he had been blind, his eyes was as white as my shirt. I said, "He has promised to get his sight back again, he will serve the God that gives him his sight. He's willing to change." And I said, "You Mohammedans here, you are the greatest in number, [Gap in the audio.] to come here and give this man back his sight." There you are.

56 I wouldn't have said that for nothing, brethren, if God hadn't said so first, you see, the vision. I said, "Now, come and give him his sight." And I said, "You Buddha worshippers, I challenge the priest of the Buddha to come give him his sight. Or you Jains, that we was in the temple today, I challenge any of you priests to come give him his sight. And he will worship the God that gives him his sight."
Oh, brother! It was a quiet bunch, certainly it was. And I said, "What could you do? You'd tell him he was wrong in worshipping the sun. He's worship..." And I said, "I believe he's wrong. He's worshipping the creature ... creation instead of the Creator." See? I said, "I believe he was wrong." I said, "What would you Mohammedans do if you changed him? You would only change his way of thinking. What if you Jains took him? You'd change his way of thinking. What if you Buddhists took him? You'd change his way of thinking." That's right, psychology.

57 But, brethren, I want to ask you something, what more would the Methodist do for him than the Baptist could do? We got the same thing in America, only we got one God we worship. But all the Baptists wants them all to be Baptists, and wants all the Methodist... And the Pentecostal wants to make them all Pentecostals. Church of God wants them all on their side. And the Assemblies wants them all on their side.
What is it? Oh, they got to be baptized thus, this and that, or they got to say certain things, they got... What is it? Psychology. I'm not one to hurt feelings, but, brother, I must be honest, this may be our last time we will ever... [Break in tape.] It's true. And I said, "We got the same thing in America. Just from this church to that church. If the Church of God don't treat me right, I will join the Assemblies. Assemblies don't not treat me right, I will be a Oneness." There you are. What is it? It's the same thing. Like pagans, heathen; it's true. Anchor yourself in Christ once, stay there; that's right.

58 Then, when I said, "Certainly, you could do no more for him, one from the other, no matter who it would be." But I said, "You can't give him his sight, you Mohammedans, neither can you Jains, and neither can you Buddhists or any of you, can give him his sight. And neither can I give him his sight." But I said, "The God of heaven, who raised up His Son Jesus, that you thinking is telepathy, has showed me a vision that the man will receive his sight. And if he doesn't, I'm a false prophet."
"And now if he does, how many of you will raise your hands that you'll forsake your pagan gods? You see where your priest is standing? Every one of them, they're silent people; no wonder they're silent. I'd be silent too, if the God of heaven hadn't showed me something just now." I said, "Now we will find out whether it's right or not."

59 And everybody was quiet. I got the poor old fellow and pulled him to my bosom. I said, "Lord God, who made the heavens and earth, as it was in the Bible times, it has returned again. Let it be known today that You're God, and Your church shall prevail against every gate of hell. It shall be. And many of these men sitting here who's labored out here, thinking that these things belonged in another age, let them know that their labors are not in vain. They preached the best that they knowed how, under the circumstances, and the things they had to preach by. But now Thou has come on the scene..." (They don't interpret the prayer, of course.)

60 And praying to the Lord, I had him leaning against my bosom. When I took him away, like that, he let out a scream with all of his might; he run and grabbed the mayor of Durban and kissed him. His sight was as good as any man that's in here.
Then what happened? There he was standing there, he fell on his knees, he throwed his hands in the air, he wept. Thousands watching him. That man has testified even to the President of India. Which up at New Delhi, this coming October if I wish, they got a amphitheater up there that I could put a million people in, for a united effort all over India.

61 Then I said, "How many of you here will receive Jesus as personal Saviour? You Mohammedans and Buddhists and so forth?" Their hands went up everywhere, everywhere. And they made a rush, they pulled my shoes off, they tore my... I was over an hour getting out of it, shredded clothes, five or six lines could not hold them back. They'd run under their legs and everything. Indians are superstitious: they want to touch you or something like that, trying to get in. Mother's even throwing their babies to try to get through to touch. I had to leave the city the next day because they couldn't hold them any longer, was no place to put them.

62 Jesus said, "Go preach the Gospel." That's right. We've built around schools, organization, education. Nothing against it, that's all right, nothing against it. But He said, "Preach the Gospel." He never said, "Build churches." He never said, "Build organizations." He never said, "Build schools." He never said, "Have seminaries." He said, "Preach the Gospel." We turn around and done something else. That's the reason the heathens are in the shape they are today. That's the reason these things are.
But, my brethren, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Jacob still lives today. That's right. He's the same God. It reminds me of one little thing I will say, and I've got to go then. If you have just a couple of minutes.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

63 As everybody knows, I like to hunt. Brother sitting here from Northern British Columbia... One day I come out of the mountains, with whiskers about that long, they're turning gray. There was big old slouch hat pulled down, overalls, and hadn't had a bath for over two weeks, and had twenty-one head of horses. And I guess I smelt worse than the horses did, been not taking a bath and dirty, and sweating. I'd been bear hunting up in the mountains. How the experiences that I had with God there will live with me till I die, be alone.
I was in a little place where they had a store, just about the size of half of this room; they had everything there. Young woman there, about thirty years old, had never seen a city in her life, in her life. So far back. I guess the first real hard top road would be Edmonton, by Edmonton. That'd be four, five hundred miles away. Been about two hundred miles, I guess. Two hundred miles to a hard top road. And then you leave that, then you got another one, a long stretch of it. Way up at East Pines, Northern British Columbia.

64 Standing back there, I was trying to pull the pinions on the horses and tighten up the... A man come down through there, said, "Hello, Brother Branham." That was him, a farmer. The Lord gave a vision, called him to the work, and now he's just returning from Cuba and on his road back again now, in the field.
I was down, in a way, Northern place, and a lady walked up, all that beard and stuff, the lady walked up and touched me on the back, said, "Aren't you Brother Branham?"
And I said, "Yes, Ma'am. How did you know me?"
Said, "I got your book."
I said, "How did you ever get a book back there?"
It come twice a year, mail on a dog sled. Oh, they'll come from the East and the West at that great time.

65 Way up in the mountains one time in Colorado, I was hunting elk. Not to kill the game, just to be alone with God. You can have all your feather-edged Florida you want to; that's what man done to it. I like it the way God made it, see, just in its raw nature.
I climbed way high in the mountains, way high. Cause the elk had not come down yet, there was not enough snow to run them down. I was at least thirty-five or forty miles from a human being, way back between Bertha Pass and Rabbit Ear Pass, way back on the Troublesome River where I used to herd cattle when a boy.

66 I got a little thing I want to say right here about that. I used to, when they had the roundup in the spring, when we putting the cattle up on the Arapaho Forest... The Hereford Association grazes the valley. And if you can raise a ton of hay and got a brand from the Chamber of Commerce, you can herd a cow on the Arapaho Forest in the summer.
So we herded down there, and our brand was a tripod, a big diamond ... a Bar Diamond was next to us, there which was Grimes. And all of you know Grimes, the race horse man; he worked about twenty men all the time. And ours was a small outfit; we had the last place of irrigation off of east fork of the Troublesome River, way up. So then, you know, the river is divided like this, and comes down from the north, east and west slope. Well, then we grazed that in there, a hundred and fifty, two hundred miles, through there, we grazed it.

67 So, they had a drift fence from the private owned property until the government property. Many time, if I sat there by day, and watch them when they was taking those cattle through. I sat with my leg around the horn on the saddle, as you all know, watching. And the ranger stood there counting those cattle as they went through. He examined those cattle.
Brethren, he did not look so much about the brand; it was the breed of the cattle. The brand could go in, it had something to do with it; but it was the blood of the cow, no matter what brand was on it. If that cow wasn't a thoroughbred Hereford, she couldn't go on that forest.

68 I think that's the way it will be at judgment. It'll not be whether you're Church of God or Assembly of God; it'll be the blood mark that'll tell the difference. No matter what kind of a brand you're wearing, it'll only be those who are born-again will go in.
Up on those mountains I watched. Come up a storm, and I got behind a tree and stood there for a little bit while the storm was going on. And all of a sudden, after the storm was over, I come out behind a tree; it'll storm a while, rain, then it'll snow a while, and then the sun'll come out and melt it off, and maybe it'll rain again.

69 And when I come out, it turned cold, during the time hiding behind this tree, and the sun was going down into the west. And the great eye peeping across this way, and there the rainbow come across the valley where the evergreens had froze with the rain. You know how the freeze on the tree. And the sun against this made a rainbow. And I looked at that rain...
My mother, my mother's mother come off this reservation up here. And my conversion didn't take the call of the deep out of me; I love the woods. So, I stood there and I started crying. I thought, "O great Jehovah." As I said last night, "He guides my steps by His eye." So then, there He is looking. There I thought, "Yes, the sun is dying in the west, the day is over, the rainbow represents the covenant, we're at the end-time." You look anywhere and you can see God, if you just look around a little bit. You can see Him in the brother that you don't like so well, if you just look. You can see Him in the organization that you don't like, if you just look around, that's all. He'll be there, so do not worry.

70 And then I watched that and I started weeping. In a few moments I heard the old gray wolf call up on top the mountain, the mate answer down in the bottom. You know David said, "When the deep calls to the deep." Deep begin calling to the deep. I heard the old bull elk, bugle. The storm had separated them. Through the mass of blowing, the timber falling, the herd had got broke up. They were bugling one to another to come back together.
The mate of the wolf was calling, "Let's come back together." The eye was calling to the rainbow, "Let's come back together." The Spirit's calling to the church, "Let's come back together. Let's unite." God was there.

Psalm 42:7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

71 And while I was standing there worshipping, oh, I run around and around that tree as hard as I could go. Just to give vent to my feeling, screaming to the top of my voice, shaking my hand. You ever thought I was a holy roller, sure enough, if somebody had seen me. But, or maybe I was insane, running around and around that tree. But I was worshipping God. I see Him, everything is calling. The deep calling from the deep. Like the Spirit is now, calling to the church, calling to His body, "Let's come together. Let's be together, the sun's setting, it's later than you think. Come together." [An exhortation is given from someone in the audience.] Amen.
Where did the Spirit speak? When the rainbow ... the sun called the rainbow, when the wolf called his mate, when the elk called its mate. Jesus is calling His mate, the church. God bless you, brethren. I'm here shoulder-to-shoulder with you at the throne of God to help you every way that I can. I'm your brother.
