Make the valley full of ditches

1 To pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
May God add His blessings to His Word. I know it's hot; it's hot here. And now, you just stand as much as you want to; make yourself comfortable as you can, while I speak just a few seconds. I'll watch my watch. I'll say at least ten, five to ten minutes and then we'll start the prayer line, start praying for the sick. That'll be just exactly nine o'clock; maybe be through by nine-thirty or quarter till.
Now, this was during the time of Israel's backsliding. They'd got away from God. And then Jo--Judah had a king. Now, the king of Israel was Ahab's son, who had succeeded his father, which was--had married out of the Jewish people, married... Just like today when a Christian boy marries a sinner girl, or a sinner girl, a Christian boy, that--that starts something right then. See? Don't you get married unless you're equally yoked together with believers (You know?) to keep trouble down. See?
Now, when God made men and women in the beginning, He made their--their spirits then. There's someone for you. Just wait. See? All right. Now...

2 But there King Ahab had went down and married this little queen, or little princess, and she was a idolater. He married out of the--out of the covenant. And when he did it, brought trouble into Israel. And she torn down. Boy, she was a spitfire, my, if there ever was one. Maybe a beautiful girl, beautiful woman for all I know.
Say, I don't mean to rub off this to some of the women now, or something another. But I want to ask you something. Now, what you do, that's between you and our Lord. Is that right? That's your own business. But I think... Did you ever notice the first woman that ever used makeup on her face, what happened to her. She was Jezebel. And you know what God did to her? He fed her to the dogs. So, you see, that's dog meat. So... All right. So just...

3 Now, she tired her head, painted her face to go out and meet Jehu. And he threw her out of the window to fulfill Elisha's prophecy, and God fed her to the dogs: just the palms of her hands was left and part of her skull, and so forth. He said, "Give her a burial anyhow."
Well then, her son, Jehoram, which succeeded Ahab, and war come up, and so they made a--an alliance between them. And they called the king of Judah. And his name was Jehoshaphat, which was a righteous man, a wonderful man of God.
And so then when they came up together and they made the alliance... Now there's again: a believer hooking hisself with--yoking hisself up with an unbeliever. May I pass this. And please, I don't want to get a pass my word--my...

4 Here, not long ago... Now, I'm not a politician, neither am I a warmonger; I'm a minister of the Gospel. But here not long ago, everything you seen was Red Russia, Red Russia, we was talking about, until the German and the Second World War broke out, and then them people who did not believe in God, the Communists, the ungodly, we come right around and yoked ourself up with them. Instead of a cross... We--we refused the cross, and now we got a double cross. See? That's right. That's what we got.
You know, if the meetings was longer, I'd like to speak a little on those things, just along on that line. But, anyhow, here we are: yoked ourself. "How can two walk together except they be agreed?" There you are. How can you do it? You can't. On the day of Pentecost, what made the Holy Spirit come? They was in one accord, and that's what made the Holy Spirit come. And now, they was--that's way we ought to be now and then the Holy Spirit can come upon us.

5 Well then, these kings, they made a--an alliance among them and they went over to fight Assyrians. And when on their road up, they went (See?), hastily, not consulting the Lord. That's the way you do when you get mixed up with unbelievers. When you claim your healing here and go outside, and somebody say, "Aw, it's nonsense; there's nothing to it. Don't believe that; that's psychology; you're just mentally worked up." Look out. Right there is the biggest danger line you ever hit. You separate yourself from that person right then; have nothing else to do with them at all; nothing but, "Howdy do." If they want to be led to the Lord, you do so. But keep yourself away from unbelief. See? You can't do it, because every person...
You go into a church... I just wanted to challenge this to the ministers. You go into a church and watch the way that minister behaves hisself, his congregation will do the same thing. It's exactly right. See? You just watch it. Go into a church and watch just the way the pastor teaches and what he does... It's that spirit, the kindred spirit. So let's stay among believers. Let's stay where we belong. Don't get on Satan's ground.

6 You remember... How many remembers old toboggan slides? See? You kept sliding around--laid the toboggan down and slide around and see how close you could come. All at once, gone. It ain't how close you can walk to sin without sinning; it's how far you can stay away from it.
The old Scotchman said, one time when there was a hill had to ascend yonder, he... There's some drivers there said, "I can ascend that hill driving these six head of horses and the coach, and drive within six inches of the rim of that mountain, and go around there at a full gallop; I'm a teamster."
The Scotchman scratched his head, then he said, "I..."
The other one said, "I can ascend it and drive within four inches of the rim, all the way around with my team and never fall off." Said, "Let me take you."
They... Said, "What about you?" to the third man.
He said, "Sir," he said, "I claim to be a good teamster, but I stay just as far over as I can."
He said, "You're the one's going to take me." See? It isn't how close you can go and how much you can play around it; it's how far you can stay away from it. That's the next thing: getting away from it. And don't hook yourself around unbelief.

7 Now, when this meeting's closed, you'll go out somewhere, and somebody say, "Well, I'll tell you. I got that figured out. See? Now, that was a mind reading. That was this, that, or the other." And the devil will rob everything away from you that God has given you. What you do when you got it in your heart, you just keep moving on, saying, "God, give me more. Give me more." And "Blessed are they that hunger and thirst for righteousness." See? If you even hunger for it, you're blessed just to hunger for it. See? It's a blessing because you've got enough God in you to hunger for righteousness.

8 Now, now listen closely. Then the first thing you know, they found out they didn't fetch a compass. They went out without asking God and they got in trouble. You always get in trouble if you go do something without asking God. That's true. And they said--they said, "Why they... God's brought us out here to die."
There was a righteous man among them, Jehoshaphat, so he said, "Isn't there a prophet somewhere, of the Lord, that we could consult?"
And one said, "Well, I know where there's a little hut setting down here, somewhere, a few miles back," said, "of Elijah. The--He poured water on Elisha's hands and the--the mantle's upon him, and he's a prophet. Maybe we could go ask him." So said, "We'll go down and ask him."
And when he got up in front of the cabin where old Elisha was, why, Elisha walked out, and there was Jehoram, Jezebel's boy, Ahab's son setting there. And he said.
They begin this--tell off, "The Lord has brought us out here and we're starving to death and our cattle's out without water."
He said, "Well, why don't you get to your mother's god? Why don't you get to your daddy's gods? Why'd you come to me?" See? Oh, he talked to him sassy, the prophet did. Said, "Why don't you go to them?" And after he got all stewed up, as it was, then he said, "If it wasn't that I respected the presence of Jehoshaphat, I wouldn't even look at you (See?), or see you." Now, he said, "I respect this renown believer here. Here's a man among you. And Ahab, you had no business doing that, linking yourself up amongst these unbelievers, but for your sake I'm going in to pray." He said, "Bring me a minstrel."

9 You know, someone told me a long--not long ago, said, "Brother Branham, music in the church is wrong."
I said, "It is?" I said, "Do you think God changes in nature?"
"No."
I said, "Then, when the prophet got all stewed up and they said, 'Bring a minstrel,' and when the minstrel begin to play, the hand of the Lord come upon the prophet. And if--if music brought the power of God then, it'll bring the power of God now." That's just exactly. God's still same God. See? And the prophet... Now, you might not be the prophet, but you could be the minstrel or you can be part of it anyhow, to bring the power of God. And you... and just... .

10 They started to praying. And Elisha got in the Spirit and he saw a vision. Now, he said, when he saw the vision, he said, "Go out yonder in that desert, right where you're at, and go to digging ditches. And the--dig them out. For THUS SAITH THE LORD, you'll not hear any wind, any rain, but there'll be water that'll come from the way of the wilderness." Why? Where'd that water come from? From that Rock, that Smitten Rock that was in the wilderness. That's right. It was back there somewhere. It might've been covered up, but there was a Smitten Rock in there that Moses smote, coming through the wilderness. And that Smitten Rock still lays yonder too, to be touched tonight: waters of life.

11 And now notice, now, they went without any evidence of having water. The first thing they had to do was prepare a ditch for the water to come in. You get what I mean? My time's up; I'll have to hurry, get this point. Look. The deeper they dug, the more waters they got. Every time they'd dig, maybe you stick your shovel down, you'd hit an old tin can. Throw it out. That's that guy that says, "The days of miracles is passed." Just kick him out of the way. Dig on. Get down there, and then when you hit another one, he says, "Well, I'll tell you what. I believe these things are--are just simply a psycho work up, mental telepathy, or something." Kick him out of the way, keep digging. That's right. The deeper you dig, more water you're going to have. Is that right?
So right now just lay aside, saying, "I may get healed tomorrow night. I may get healed tomorrow afternoon in--in--in the service." Just lay that thing aside and say, "I'm going to get healed right now. This is the time. I'm going to dig a ditch here that when the Holy Spirit falls, my heart's going to fill up, and I'm going to jump up and start running. And I'm going to praise God and I'm going to be healed." That's all. See? Deeper you dig, the more waters you'll have.

12 And now, they didn't hear any rain. They didn't see any rain, rather. There was no clouds, no wind, no thunder, no lightning, but there was water there. Oh, my. Don't you worry. You get the ditch ready; God will produce the water. You get all the unbelief out of the way, and God will produce the rest of it. If you think you can't walk, rise to your feet and find out; take Jesus at your--at His Word. If you think you can't see, jerk your hands above your eyes and ask God to give you sight, and watch what takes place, and believe it. If you haven't walked in months and say, "I'm too weak to walk," rise on your feet and see what takes place. Say, "Jesus Christ, I come with a pure heart to You." Get that ditch ready and watch what takes place. Yes, sir.

13 Then the next morning when they come, when the waters begin to come, about the time the morning sacrifice, there came the waters when everything was laying in order. And the waters begin to pour down through, came--come from the way of the wilderness. And the first thing you know, the enemy saw it, and they rushed in, and they was laying in ambush. They run over their lands, the Israelites did, and they stopped up every well they had; cut down every tree they had; marred every piece of ground.
And brother, if there ever was a time... Listen to me, as I speak in the Name of the Lord. If there ever was a time that the Christian people, who's called by the Name of Jesus' disciples; if there ever was a time that the church who believes in righteousness and the power of God; if there ever was a time you ought to dig a ditch and get a stone of a testimony in your hand and mar up some of these old cold formal wells around here, it's time to do it now. That's right. That's right. All right. Let's get going. That's right. God will spread a vision here tonight. He'll do something for you if you can believe Him. Do you believe Him? All things are possible; only believe. Let's bow our heads.

14 Heavenly Father, the hour is here, the building's warm, but it's time. The time has come. I remember once, our dear Lord, when You looked up and said, "Father, the hour has come." The hour has come for what? O God, the hour has come now for people to believe. The hour has come for falling away of the church. The hour has come that religion would spread the world without salvation; form of godliness, denying the power thereof. The hour has come. The hour has come for Your church to rise. This hour has to come for You're, raise out of the dust and shake herself and come to herself and realize, positionally, that she is the Church of the living God and has rights over every... Every redemptive blessing that You promised to her, they're hers tonight. God, the hour has come. Now, grant, Lord.
And the hour has come now at this hour for to pray for the sick. Almighty God, I pray that You'll send Your Angel tonight, and may He go through this building and heal so many sick people that tomorrow there'll be formal wells stopped up everywhere, testimonies going everywhere, and people a testifying of the glory of God. And let them know that the Church of God is rising, spreading forth her wings for that great flight that's coming. God, may men move away from them wish and hope tonight, until a perfect understanding of God's plan and be healed tonight. Grant it, Father. Hear the prayer of Your servant. I pray in Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.

15 All right, God bless you. Now, if the organist [Gap in the audio] ... hear me.
I want to say one thing. I've got a little girl. I got a boy here that's... God may give me another one; I don't know. That boy's mother's dead. I've been daddy and mother, both, to him. And I love him. He's my only boy I have. And God knows how I love him. I pray that God will make him a man after God's heart. That's what I pray. He's just in this adolescent age, the dangerous time of life. I desire all of you to pray for my boy. And he's a good boy, but he's got a little sister coming along, about six years old. That little sister, if God will just let me live, mother and I, to raise that child in the admiration of God, God's going to use that child. That little thing set in the balcony the other night, and a poor old mother laying here dying with cancer, she was laying back in there somewheres, and I went out to the car. I couldn't get to myself good, and my boy kept saying, "Can you drive, dad?"
I said, "I believe so, sonny." I kept coming along. I felt all right. I was a little weak and trembly. I started off, and I heard her mother trying to hush the little girl, and I said, "What's the matter with Rebekah?" And--and she was trying to tell me something, and I was trying to keep my eye on traffic and things, driving slow along on the right hand side. After a bit, she come put her little arms around me, started crying. She's setting up there in the balcony. And she said, "Daddy," she just had her two little front teeth pulled, and the little naked place there, without her teeth. She was crying, her little heart trembling, she said, "When you said for all that wanted to be prayed for tonight hold up their hand," said, "this poor little old mother was laying back there. She couldn't see you. You couldn't see her, daddy, and she held up her hands, and the people were standing up and you didn't see her, and she was trying to get you to see her hand." Said, "Daddy, something told me, 'if you'd pray for her, Jesus going to heal her.'" That struck on my heart.

16 I went on. I remember before she told me, just exactly where a little polio boy was with a little crutch that walked. "For if I go pray for that little boy, God would heal him." It was so.
And then I, she was setting there, a little high pitched nervous sort of a child. And I thought about it. I said, "Well, honey, daddy prayed for everybody."
Said, "Yes," but honey, "the poor old woman," said, "she couldn't raise up." And said, She was trying to wave her handkerchief and you couldn't see her, daddy." And she just cried her little self to sleep that night; just laid there and snubbed and cried till she went to sleep.
Next night she was setting up in the balcony. And I--I didn't know who she was talking about, 'cause the woman was back there. And there was some cot cases and stretchers laying here. And it happened to be that night, the Holy Spirit moved around, caught that woman. She happened to be laying in front, and spoke of her, and told all about her condition, and pronounced her healed with a cancer, in the Name of Jesus Christ. And that was a letter you heard read here at the pulpit last night. She'd went home, and her doctor and all of them knows, that she's absolutely healed and well. I tell you. Hallelujah, Oh bless God. I don't know what's getting the matter with me, but I love Him with all my heart.

17 All right. Prayer cards... Let's see. Let's begin tonight and start praying for the sick just like we... [Gap in the audio]... ask everyone to stand that had that same disease and be prayed for at the same time. That was... I think the Lord was wonderfully in doing that. Don't you think so? That was wonderful.
And now, I... There it is again. There's somebody's playing around this place here that's just as much an unbeliever as can be. And I hope that sometime I see who you are. I feeled your spirit. And if it is, I'm going to call you right out. So you just get that marked right down. See? It'd been here every night since we've had the meeting. And I--I'm just watching to see who it is. I believe it's... It's outside of the audience here. I think it's in the building, but it's outside the audience. And I'm... Just watch. And I pray that God will just show you what you are.
I have refrained from that a lot of times, but I... Peter didn't do it. He told Ananias and Sapphira right where the thing was a laying. That's right. And that hinders a whole lot too.

18 All right, just believe now with all your heart. And every Christian throw your faith right into Jesus Christ now; just say, "Lord, we're pulling right up, anchoring up, tightening up." And many of you here, you... How many's been in meetings before? Let's see your hand. Oh, I think all of you, mostly. You know the operation of the Spirit of God. Now, bring your...
Oh, this is--this is the lady. All right. Now, this lady standing here, I--I don't think I ever seen you. You're a stranger, are you, to me? I don't know you. Now, this lady standing here, there's not a way in the world... God knows. God knows this woman, but if I ever laid eyes on her before, any contact with her before, any way... God understands. See? I don't know nothing about her; she's just a woman that walked up here. Is this your first time in the meeting? Your fir... You been here before? You been here before. What's your--what's your attitude towards what I said? You believe it to be the truth? You believe it to be the truth. And you--you understand that I couldn't heal you if I... There's nothing in me to heal you. But there is a gift here that you couldn't hide your life from me if you had to. See? You can't do that.

19 And in that, it gives the audience there, and you yourself, a knowledge to know that God is here present. Isn't that right? That's perfectly right. All right. Then it only has to come by--by spiritual Divine revelation, the power of God. You believe that? I was checking your spirit (See?), see if you're... I know you're--you're a believer. You're a Christian. There has been sometimes someone try to deceive me like that. You've heard of what's happened. Come up trying to deceive, and they went away afflicted. All right.
Now, I believe you've come with sincerity. But you was strangers. Now, the woman here. Now that you might know... Does anybody out there know this woman? Let's see, anybody in the audience know her, raise your hands, anywhere. I don't see any hands. You must not be from around this part... Are you from around here? No. You're--you're away from here. All right. All right, I have no reason to believe but what you're a truthful woman, being a Christian. I take your word, being a Christian.

20 Now look, audience, if there's... The woman, she may have TB. She may have female trouble. She may... I--I don't know what's wrong with the woman. But if God will come down in His mercy, as I speak to her, and anoint and tell her her condition, or whatever's wrong with her, wouldn't you be willing to accept that I have told you the truth? If--if I--if--if I here... And the woman, now she knows there's nothing--there's nothing that I know about her, nothing at all; we're strangers. And if God will reveal to me what is wrong with her, then that ought to be sufficient as Moses said. He didn't have to heal his hand every time he met a Israelite, throw the stick down and make a snake out of it. He did it once and everybody believed him. Is that right? That's right. Now, God... does these things for a vindication.

21 Now, if Jesus Christ and this woman... And as I've... You've heard me what I've said, and she know's whether I'm telling the truth or not. God knows it the same way. And I'm a minister of the Gospel. If God will speak to this woman through me, telling her what's wrong with her or whatever it--it's the matter, what her cause is, will you out there believe then, that I am telling you the truth, that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever? All right. Now, remember, He may heal her; He may not. I don't know that. I--I only know what I--what I can see.
Now, lady, I want you to stand right around this way, just right this way, so I can get from among those sick people that's there praying and crying and everything else, trying to get in the line. There's been something pulling on me, since you been standing there and that's the reason I've been talking to you so long. And sometime when there's much faith, it's just like a--it's just like this way (See?), just everywhere. And you--when it anoints down, then just everything sets in. It's kindy hard to--hard sometime to understand just what it is.

22 But talking to you now, looking at you, and speaking to you. Now, you believe our Lord. And you believe that He is the same today. Now, He promised that in this day that He would be with us in all ages. And He'd be just the same in every age that He was then: "I'll be with you always, even to the end of the world." Was that His commission? Well, if He's our Lord, He could not say anything that was wrong and be our Lord and be God. He couldn't be. Then He absolutely is the same.
Now, when He was here on earth, He didn't claim to heal people. He said, "I can do nothing till My Father shows Me." Is that right? But He could sure... What the Father showed Him, and He called the Pharisees, ''hypocrites" and "whited walls," and everything else, why, then He told them all about their sins and things, then He's the same today.
He told the woman at the well, after talking to her awhile... That's why I'm talking to you, till He tells me what is wrong. And you look healthy; you look strong; but God knows; I don't. But He... Now, you are aware right now, that something's taking place, aren't you?
Now, that--friends, I just wish the whole audience could feel that... Not by feeling: It isn't feeling, it's a faith. But when that Angel of God moves near, there i... when a person is standing close, they have to feel it. Now, the woman's a Christian. You'd believe her, wouldn't you, if she's a Christian confess... Is it so, lady? Raise you hand that you realize there's something coming in near, coming from this side, moving in. That's right.

23 Now, He's the One Who knows you. I do not. You've had lots of trouble: turning dark all around you. And I know what that means to me, by interpretation of vision, that there's trouble near you somewhere. Yes. It is a tumor. Isn't that right? It's a tumorous condition. Say, that's a... That must... It was--it was at the head. Wasn't that right? Isn't that right? Is that--You've had an operation for it. I see someone, mask over their face, operating. Isn't that true? The--the a tumor at the... Yes, yes. Now, you're--what you're studying about, the physician wants to place a something another back. I see him holding something in his hand and--and you're not willing to do it. You want to accept God as healing you. Is that right? It's broke from me. Was--was those things right? Was it true? Ever--every bit true? Now, you heard me speaking, didn't you? But that wasn't me, sister. That was Someone else. See? It was my voice, but It was Someone else speaking. You believe it. Come here, just a minute.
Father, I pray Thee, in the Name of Your holy Son, Jesus, to this poor woman. Thou knowest all of her conditions and troubles. And I ask for mercy for her. God, as Your servant, a mortal that's got to leave out of this world someday, I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ, as I try to fulfill the commission that was given: "They shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover." Almighty God, I beg for this woman's healing; in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Now, sister, with all my heart I believe you're blessed of God now. You can go home. Not because I prayed for you, but because you believe. No, ma'am. I don't think... I think it's all over. Now, God bless you. That's all. God bless you. She says she's going to send the written testimony.

24 Now the anointing of the Holy Spirit is on me. See? Now It is. I don't know how long I'm going to stand tonight, because it--that weakened me. But now there isn't a thing but what our heavenly Father could not reveal at this minute, friend. That's exactly true. All right. Bring the--bring the lady on and let her--let her come. All right.
The first thing, I want you to believe with all your heart that God is here present to make known His deeds among the people. You believe now? All right. The woman... There's a deaf spirit moving against me, it's... Let me... No, it's on her. Yeah. You? Deaf, that's what it was. All right, bow your head. I thought I heard her talking but she might've been talking but not hearing. Bow your head, just a minute. Almighty God, great Jehovah Who went down into the fiery furnace... The children of Israel down there in that hot place and moved in and talked to the people. I pray Thee, in Jesus Christ's Name, that You help this poor woman who's standing here. Give mercy unto her, O God, by opening her ears, and giving her hearing tonight. And as it is written in the Bible, that when the deaf spirit went out of a man he could hear. And God, I pray that You'll give faith that this poor woman might be healed tonight. And now, as Your servant, help me, God, to have faith that this woman's ears will be open so I can talk to her.
Now, Thou deaf spirit, you are a devil, a demon, that has entered this woman's ears to stop them up. And I come as a servant of Jesus Christ, as His representative here to His people, to represent Him to the people. And He spoiled principalities; He robbed Satan of all of his powers at Calvary; and He robbed you of your hold on this woman. And I represent Him tonight in a way of prayer. And it is written in the Scripture, as my Lord said to you that day, "It is written... In My Name they shall cast out devils." And I say, in the Name of Jesus Christ, leave the woman. Come out of her.
Hear me? Hear me? Can you hear me now? Say, "Amen." "Amen." Now, I'm just whispering. Now you're healed. Go on your road rejoicing and give God praise. Will you do that? Look. Got a strange belief: you're Orthodox. Will you accept Jesus Christ now as the great Healer? You will? Would you like to receive the baptism of His Spirit? Go, and may God give it to you, woman, in in the Name of Jesus Christ. Every one, reverent. Be real reverent. Believe with all your heart.

25 Now, I--I'm stranger to you, I believe, sir. Is that right? I--I am a stranger. I--I--I--I do not know you. And only God knows you; I do not. That's right. And I... The only way that I'll have of knowing you...
Just a moment. That second lady, setting in there, that's got high blood pressure, setting right there in that row, if you want to, you can stand up: Christ just healed you just then. Rise up. That's right. That's right. That's fine, thank you. And the lady setting right in front of you, she had the same thing. Isn't that right? There the gray headed lady setting right there in front of you, she had the same thing. Yes, ma'am. That's right, you both can stand up. You're healed of that high blood pressure you had. I seen a--a line, something like a mercury running up like that, and it kept holding by both of them women. Over the top of this man I see it running up and the Holy Spirit said to me, "Now's the time for their healing." God bless you. Go home. Jehovah God be with you.

26 Isn't He wonderful? Have faith. All right. Do you believe me to be His prophet, sir? [Gap in the audio-]... Water's running on the road, or something like that. Isn't that right? Is that true? Sir? Is... That's right. Just what they can't understand, here it is: it's caused from a nervous condition. It's putting forth water in your lungs. That's a demon power that a doctor would never find in the world. And he cannot do nothing for it. If he had something he could lay his hands on, he could work. I do not disregard the doctor. He's a man; God sent him here to help. But he's working by knowledge; this is the Holy Spirit. See? That is a remedy; this is a cure. See? Do you believe me? You accept Him as your Healer, believing that them nerves will quieten and them lungs will go away and dry up and be a normal lung? You believe that? Come forward then to be blessed.
Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, Who made the lungs in this man. As You said to Moses who said, "I cannot speak well." You said, "Who made man's mouth?" Thou did put words in this man's mouth. You did make his body. And Lord God, who am I to say, knowing maybe this has come to this hour. "All things work to good of--for the good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose." I pray, God, with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, just now, that You'll let Your healing grace come upon this man; and may this condition leave his lungs and may we have his testimony back that others will be able to see this and see what God has done. And may he give his testimony that they can't find a trace of it. And while speaking with the doctor he'll happily say, "I trusted the Lord Jesus, doctor, and He's done this for me." Grant it, God, that there might be a testimony to the doctor, which we know that they believe, that Thou art the Great Physician; they only work under You and Your supervision. God, bless our brother and heal him; in Jesus' Name. Amen. That's right. I believe, my brother, with all my heart, your relief is at hand. God bless you.

27 O God, have pity on the sick and the needy. How that He would--His mercy endureth.
Howdy do, sir? All right. Now, I am a stranger to you. Is that right, sir? I--I--I don't know you; I... You're a stranger to me, so I just... As far as I know, I've never seen you. I--if I have I--I don't--I'm not acquainted with you. Or... But the... There is Someone Who knows us both. Isn't that right, sir? He knows us both. And--and you've come here tonight to be healed or whatever is wrong. And there's no way at all for me to know anything in the world about you only less God would reveal it in some way. You believe that? You--you do? And--and the... Will you, with sincerity of heart, do you believe that what you have heard about Jesus Christ being the Son of God is the truth? You do. And do you believe that what the claim that I have made concerning His--being His prophet by a vision to this end, I was born... Do you believe that's the truth? You believe it, even though I would not say a thing what is wrong with you or nothing, but just pray for you and pass on, you'd believe it anyhow, wouldn't you?

28 Maybe He might be able to explain. Yes, sir. As soon as the Holy Spirit, which you're--are sure that there's something near... You're not accustomed to this feeling. You're a--a--a nervous person. Say, I see you coming from a distance. You've come from somewhere here. Isn't that right? You're not--you're--you've--you've come from some other place, coming here. You was away and come here. Somebody has brought you here or told you to come here. And you've not... You have... You're here to be delivered of a--something that's--you do. Isn't that right? It's something that's ruining your life and wrecking your life. Is that right? Which is drinking. You're an alcoholic. And somebody has told you--and if I'm not mistaken, you was north and come south, coming here. Is that right? You accept Him as your Saviour now? Believe that from this hour He's the only Thing that can take this thing away from you? All right. You now accept Him as your Saviour. You now believe that He is the Son of God, that He died at Calvary to take away your sin. And you don't want to do that: you're only ruining yourself, sending yourself to a devil's hell and a sinner's grave, and--and you don't want it to be that way. And it's got you all nervous and shook up. Is that right? Now, you accept Him as your Saviour. And now, do you believe then, if I'll ask God that that devil will leave you?

29 What I'm's thinking about... There's been somebody's healed, and I believe I see her setting up there, a--a little alcoholic was healed here not long ago, setting right up there in the meeting somewhere. If I turned around and felt... Is that right? If it is, stand up, lady. Or, there's somewhere... That's right, exactly. You was setting there praying for that man. That's right, isn't it, lady? I'm not reading your mind, but I seen you setting there. Haven't you been healed on this platform of the same thing? Your spirits happened to get lined together. Say, somebody else you're praying for. Isn't that your dad setting near you there? Is that right? Is that right? He's hard of hearing, isn't he? Lay your hand over on him. You accept Jesus as your Saviour too, dad? All right, go home, both of you, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, my brother. Go home. It sent my daddy to a grave, brother. Go home tonight and never drink another drop and you're going to be all right. Let us say, "Praise be to Almighty God Who made the heavens and the earth."
Sir, join yourself with some good full Gospel church now. Live for Christ the rest of your days. God will use you. Not only you, but He'll cause others that like you to come out and walk in this lovely light and someday, meet me yonder where--where we shake hands yonder at the other side. You'll remember; I'll call to your attention on the platform tonight, where God delivered you of the drinking habit, where you accepted Him as your Saviour. Oh, my, people, why don't you believe our Lord Jesus Christ? Be reverent.

30 Howdy do? I seen you flash before me, but with those glasses on, but it seemed like... Or, no, that's all right. It was a--a--a younger woman that was standing there first, I... Was no one else on the platform. Now, that's strange. A young red-headed woman was standing right here. May the Lord God of heaven show it to me. There she sets right up there in the balcony, and the girl is wiping her eyes, and there's something wrong with her eyes. Is that right, young lady? If it is, stand up. The red-headed girl, standing there by that... All right, young lady, you were going blind. I seen you stand here, and I seen the glasses on the woman; I seen it was something wrong with your eyes. Do you believe me to be His prophet now? You accept Jesus as your Healer? Go home and be well in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Do you believe me, as God's prophet? If there's anything wrong with you, God will reveal it to me. You believe that? With all your heart? Yes, lady. You know what I'm fixing to say right now, 'cause you're thinking about it. Not because you're thinking about it, but you're here to be delivered from something. Isn't that right? You're all nervous and shook up. Isn't that right? And it's caused from a very bad habit, a habit that's a--one of the lowest habits that women ever taken up: smoking cigarettes. Is that right? Is it right? Do you believe me to be His prophet? You accept Him as your Saviour: deliver from this? You prayed to Him now, through God the Father, through Jesus Christ's Name. He forgive you of every sin, and you'll throw cigarettes down and never touch them again the rest of your life? God bless you, my sister. Go home and may the Lord Jesus deliver you. I curse this habit of tobacco in the Name of Jesus Christ. Go, go home now and be a Christian the rest of your days.
Let's say, "Thanks be to God."
You can say, "You can do it and be a Christian if you want to." But the Holy Spirit said, "Don't do it." Now, you want to brand me a fanatic, you brand Him the fanatic; I only speak as He speaks.

31 Come, lady. I ain't going to be able to stand much longer. No. It's getting awful hard. No. You believe me to be God's prophet? You believe that God sent me to--to--to pray for you? No way in the world that I have of having any connection with you. I don't know you, never seen you in my life. You're just a stranger to me. Is that right? You believe now if I'd--if God will let me know what is wrong with you, that you will accept Jesus as your Healer? You will, with all your heart? All right You've tried everything that could be thought of to get rid of it. But you got a stomach trouble. Is that right? And it's an ulcer, and it's laying right in the pit of the stomach, that whatever you eat burns, hurts you, and you have sour stomach, upset, acid if you eat. Is that right? Exactly. All right. Almighty God, Author of Life, I now curse this stomach trouble; in the Name of Jesus Christ, may it come out of her and leave her. God bless you, sister. Now, go on and eat anything you want to. God bless you.
Now, lady, while sitting there, wondering, and that woman was healed with stomach trouble, you were healed with the same thing. You had stomach trouble too. That's what you was healed of. All right, you can go now and eat if you want to. Do whatever you want to do...

32 You believe, down that line, with all your heart, with all your soul? How many down there believes? Right down in that line, you believe with all your heart, with all your soul? Look. You've never got down into this prayer line. You're just standing there. That the audience might know that God has sent me to be His prophet, I want you to... Reverend Cox, to go along and surrender those prayer cards, take the prayer cards up. I want you to look this a way to me. I want you to believe with all your heart, every one of you. I'm going to ask you something. And now, you look this a way, every one. Do you solemnly believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

33 You're half laying. That's all right, sir. Just... Say, by the way, you... Stand out there, that's all right, let your hat lay there. Put it in your hand. Walk up this way a little bit. Walk this way just a little bit. Look here to me just a minute. Do you believe me to be God's prophet? You do. I have no way at all of knowing nothing wrong with you. I do not know you. I never seen you in my life. But you're hungering and thirsting after God. Say, aren't you a Catholic by faith? Haven't you belonged to the Catholic church? Is that right, raise up your hand? I see you with them prayer beads. And you've--you've been going to another kind of a church. And that's some kind of a--I believe it's a Christian Science church, or something. Some kind of a reader or something was setting before you, and they told you that you was hoaxed, or something another wrong with you; that something had happen to you. But in your heart, you belong to the Catholic church. And will you accept Jesus tonight as your Healer? If you will, raise your hands way high. Put your hands way up, if you'll believe Jesus as your Healer. There's a rebound on this here and he can't hear me. The vision's broke from me. That's right. All right. Let me take this over here by him. The things that I told you are true, and you know they are, sir. Your life has been a misery to you, because Satan has tried to do this to you. There's nothing wrong. God has mercy on you. And now, He's revealed to me your life... [Gap in the audio] God will make you well. You believe Him now? You're healed. God bless you... caused from... on and be healed. Almighty God... I ask You to heal this man. O God, take every sin away. Make him... I pray. And I pray that You bless and heal him; in the Name of Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. You are welcome, sir. Go on your road now and sin no more. Be good. God bless you.

34 Have faith in God. Believe with all your heart. God will make you well. You believe that? That lady setting there with diabetes could be healed, setting there, if she wants to... Just have to have faith in God.
All at once it's becoming black. Now, just a minute. Just a minute. I can't seem to see you no more, sister, it's all blurry out there. You believe? Everybody? How about these people in here on the cots. Aren't you just tired of laying there? Sure you are. Folks, I--I wish I could stay a little longer, but this is three weeks straight meeting, and I--I'm just about to go down. I--I must go aside, just a few minutes for rest. Let's bow our heads, everywhere.
Every one of you, repeat this prayer after me. Do you believe that--that I know our Lord? I know the Words that defeat Satan. I'll say this and you repeat it. [The congregation repeats each phrase] Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth, Author of Everlasting Life, Giver of every good gift, send Your mercies upon me tonight. I believe truly, God the Father, Almighty, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe in the church, that in this church God has set some: prophets, teachers, evangelists. Almighty God, I now believe that I am in the Presence of that Church. And I now accept the message of Divine healing to myself. From this night hence I shall trust You. I am going to believe that You healed me now; for I accept my healing in Your finished work at Calvary. In the Name of Jesus Christ I receive it.

35 Reverent now. It's in your--it's in your mouth, your confession now. Just stand over this side a minute. Let me pray for you now. If God has give me power to break devils up on this platform, to set the neurotics free, to make the dope fiends and dope addicts and cancers leave, surely I speak that which is truth. You've confessed Jesus as your Healer... You believe with all your heart now. And then, all the strength that I have, I'll go forward to charge and challenge this darkness that hangs just above you.

36 O God, my Father, Who separated me from my mother's womb and called me for this purpose, ordaining this, that I bring this message to the people, before the foundation of the world, that they might know that Thou art the only true God, and Jesus Christ Thy Son. And as I stand here, Lord, tonight, around eighteen straight nights, being led here by the Holy Spirit, O Father of Spirit, hear my prayer. Hear my prayer as I call to You as my physical body is weakening and my strength is sappening from me. And there are those here, hundreds of them, who are in need of healing. God, I know that You've sent Jesus Christ to die and to be wounded for our transgressions and with His stripes we were healed. O Lord, I believe that. I believe these people are reaching forward through that mist yonder, on beyond that little dark spell, over that cloud, just beyond that star yonder, until their prayers are climbing now around the throne of God. And then, Lord, as Your prophet, standing between the living and the dead, anointed by the Holy Spirit, I go forward to challenge any spirit of doubt that would be here, that the children of God might be healed.

37 Now, Satan, you who are hanging around here with a question mark across the Word of God, you're literally disposed tonight. You're exposed. God has revealed you, told you right out who you are and what you are; and you are a liar and the father of a lie. And as the church of God, as one of the members of that church, as borned again by the Holy Spirit and by being called in this world to be a prophet, and these people have confessed Jesus Christ as their Healer; and as interceding as a priest standing between the living and dead, I say, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I break your powers." And leave this building; in the Name of Jesus Christ, turn every one of them loose. Come out of them. Satan, leave them.
Now, you on the cots and in the stretchers, on the chairs, rise up, you that's sick and afflicted. There they are, walking up. The crippled and afflicted, go and heal. Stand up.

Make the valley full of ditches

1 I'm so happy to hear of those things. And you notice, after I'm gone from here a long time... And you ministers in your churches, you'll hear people appearing, and saying, "You know, that's just left me." There's many of them that I can't call. I see it hanging all over them. And in between here, anyone who stands here on the platform, it's a dark place in between here.
And sometimes, I see the move, but I can't see the person, see, just right. And especially when you're under anointing, you just don't see it. And then, if it don't act quickly, well, it'll move somewhere else, you see. And then, when I'm standing here at the platform, I feel it while it's here, and then it'll go out. I'll see it, hang---watch it, and it'll hang over someone, see, and then a vision will open up.
And I know there's been many, many people that's never even been here, or anywhere in this line, has been healed here. And I don't even call them from the platform here. I just start... Usually, right down to the last of the service (it seems like sometimes) just a great collapse of faith just moves everywhere, you see. And there's many of them that accepts it, see.
And as far as your healing, why, I know that Christ healed everyone when He died for them, you see. So the only thing, it's just your faith to believe it.

2 A while ago, there was a minister drove in close to where I'm staying. And he introduced himself. And he prays for the sick, also. And he has a case of a sick girl. She's awful bad.
I said, "Slip on up, brother, up to the meeting." I said, "They may give out cards, today." We didn't give them out, however, this afternoon.
And he said, "Brother Branham, we don't want a prayer card. We just want to watch. It's the inspiration of the Lord what brings us up to the healing."
That man's right. He's got the idea. That's just what it takes, you see. It's the inspiration of it, brings you up to that place where you see what God's doing. His presence is there.
Now, do you know that God goes in certain places, and then He'll be somewhere else, and He'll be somewhere else? Did you know that? Didn't hear very many "Amens," but that's the truth, see. And the presence of the Lord was there to heal the people. Is that right? And the Lord met Moses in the way." You remember? Met with him in the way, when he went out.

3 A lady in my church ... Brother Beeler. Mrs. Webber---she was dying with TB. She was in a sanitarium at the last stages. They sent her home to die. Said there was nothing could be done for her---Mrs. Grace Webber in Jeffersonville. She lived just beyond the tabernacle. She's got five or six little children.
So, the Angel of the Lord come to me that night and said, "Go tell Mrs. Webber ... tell Mr. Webber, rather, to get things ready, for he's going to be left with those children on his hands, for his wife's going."
Well, I went and told Mr. Webber. I told his little girl, little Jean Rose, which is a nurse, now. She was a little bitty fellow then; she's a young lady now. It's been seven years ago, or more. I said, "Now, Jeanie, your mother's going to die. She can't live but a little while longer."

4 And two days after that, or three days, there was some ladies from the government depot, there where she worked, come in. And Grace (Mrs. Webber) said, "If I could only have Brother Bill to pray for me once more." She said, "I seen when my cousin Opal was healed of that cancer. The doctor just give her till morning to live." And her daughter's a nurse, also.
And the girls from out the government where she worked, said, "There ain't nothing to that guy." Said, "He isn't nothing but a hypocrite." Said, "That's all that religion is, is just a bunch of fake fanaticism."
And so, Mrs. Webber said, "Look. I'm dying and I know that, but I just won't stand still for that." She said, "I know better than that." She said, "I've been living right here around this city, around that man all the time. I seen it from a child, growed up." She said, "I know that you can call it fake if you want to," she said, "but I've seen it just so much, and seen God heal the people." She said, "And I know the man's life, and I know it's the truth."

5 And it happened to be, the Angel of the Lord heard that. And that very night, sitting on the side of my chair in the room, after I got up and went and got a drink of water about three o'clock in the morning. And sitting on a chair, I seen Him come walking through the door. He said, "Tomorrow (Sunday), that they're going to pick Mrs. Webber up, and bring her down. She'll be sitting on the right-hand side, far back in the tabernacle." Said, "I heard her. And tell her I heard her---what she said. And tell her, 'Thus saith the Lord, she'll live and not die.'"
There you are. You go down and see her, if you'd like to. It's been about seven years ago.
All right, see. His presence was there. When she was taking up for what was right, see, His presence was there, and He found her. So He come and told me what she had said---what she said to these women---and He had respect to her, because she had respect unto what was representing God.
So, God'll do the same thing for you. Not to respect to me, but to respect to Him---to Christ---the One who died for your healing. If you'll just give respects to Him, and His Word, God'll do the work for you. Amen. That is right.

6 Now, tonight, we want to talk a little bit from the Word. And this afternoon, I think I kind of preached... [Break in tape.] ... for he's going to go in a heart attack. I seen my father come down and mark out his place, and told me where it was, and where he was going. I had a dream... No, standing, looking at these things, I'm looking at these other things that happened.
And the boy was perfectly strong, and healthy, and everything. A few nights ago, fell across the table in a heart attack, and was laying at... Well, he's just barely living now, see. And there's no need of praying. His time is set, and he knows it, and he's going to go, see. He's my brother.
Now, if I was a healer, I'd go heal him, wouldn't I? That's my brother. But, I'm not the healer. And if there's any message of courage I could tell him, I'd like to go tell him that the only thing that I can say is he's going to die, for that's what God told me, see. And he will. That's right.
So now, see, if I was a healer, God knows I'd sure go heal my own brother. Yes, sir. But, I can't do it. That's all. And God has even... The only thing I know, he might, as Hezekiah of old, turn his face to the wall, and weep and tell God what he would do. And God might spare him that way. But, that I don't know; that's between him and God. The only thing I can do is deliver the message, just like He told me.

7 Now, I want to read some out of II Kings. Who likes to hear the old-fashioned, sassafras, cornbread and beans type of preaching. Do you like it? Just the old-fashioned type. Well, now, I'm not very much of a preacher, but I just ... I like it the old-fashioned way. That's the only way I know it. It saved me. And I tell you, it'll be good for you. It'll save you. It won't polish you very much. It won't white-wash you, but it'll wash you white. Yes, sir.
I believe in one of those old-fashioned, backwoods, sky-blue, sin-killing religion. That's right. I believe it makes us all one in Christ Jesus. It makes a silk dress, and a calico put their arms around one another, and call one another, "sister." It'll make a tuxedo suit, and overalls hug one anther, and call "brother." That's right. It'll make us all the same.
So, it saved John Wesley, and Dwight Moody, and Sankey, and Finney, and Knox, and Paul, and Peter, and James, and John, and all... Well, it's good enough for me. That's all.

8 Now, over in II Kings, the third chapter, beginning with the tenth verse, to read just a few portions of Scripture, here, or verses, rather. And we'll get right to the healing line as quick as possible ... or, not the healing line. The healing line is at Calvary. We'll get to praying for the sick.
This was a great day in the days of Israel. Just in a time of decision---about like we stand today. A broken up, un... discontented bunch of people. Listen:
And the King of Israel said, Alas! ... the LORD has called these ... kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by Him? And one of the King of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on Elijah's hands.
And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee unto the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the King of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely if it wasn't that I regarded the presence of Jehoshaphat the King of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel begin to play, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
And he said, Thus saith the LORD, make these valleys full of ditches.
And thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet the valley shall be filled with water, and you shall drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD : he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and ... fell every good tree, ... stop up all the wells of water, ... mar every good piece of land with a stone.
And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, ... behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

2 Kings 3:10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!

2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

2 Kings 3:12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

2 Kings 3:13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

2 Kings 3:14 And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

2 Kings 3:15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

2 Kings 3:16 And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.

2 Kings 3:17 For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

2 Kings 3:18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.

2 Kings 3:19 And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.

2 Kings 3:20 And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

9 Let's bow our heads just a moment.
Now, Heavenly Father, faith cometh by hearing, hearing of Thy Word. And now, as we read of this great event in Thy Word, the people have gathered here tonight, Lord, believing that the same God that was with the prophets of old, that was with the Israelites in the journey---wilderness, Daniel in the lion's den, the children in the fiery furnace; the Son of God with the apostles down through the age is still the same God tonight.
Now, we pray for a blessing from Him, that as we poor, unworthy, but needy children stand in His presence, humbly confessing our sins that we have done wrong, and ask forgiveness. And pray, God, that if there's anything in our lives, or our way, any unbelief that would keep this meeting tonight from being a success, God, forgive us now. We pray that God's Spirit might have the right-of-way in the meeting tonight, would bless the people, heal them, save the sinners, and get glory out of the service in our effort. For we ask it in Jesus Christ's name, Thy beloved Son. Amen.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

10 [Break in tape] ... the King of Jerusalem at the time of the Jews. And King Jehoshaphat was the King of Judah, which they had split up.
And when any, like the churches, as long as we have these split-ups in the church, we're never united.
The Indians lost this United States to the white people, because they were unorganized themselves---split up. They was having tribal fights. If they'd have put themselves together, they could've held their ground.
If there's any people I feel sorry for, is the Indian. He's the real American. We are not. We're immigrants. He's the American that God made America.
Recently had a meeting for them up at Carlsbad. I beg your pardon, I forget the name of the tribe. It was the Apaches of San Carlos, Arizona. I'll never forget that night. First time I'd ever prayed for any Indians. Two of them come through, and the Lord revealed what was wrong with them. And I said, "Lord, if You'll heal them, I'll go to the reservation." And He did. And the missionary helped me good to it.
So, I went up to the reservation. There was about, maybe twenty thousand, or more, gathered out that evening. They had a little platform, built like this, right in front of a little church---floodlights. And it was the most beautiful sight you ever seen to see all those little fires built around, the Indians sitting on their little blankets, and their little papooses around (that's the little babies), and all of them. The old fellows there with big, long pipes, smoking, and they were talking.

11 And when I went to speak... Now, an Indian's a very strange man. Now, he'll stand and listen at you, but he won't make his decision till he's sure.
Billy Paul had some experience with one, here sometime ago. I said, "Billy, giving out those prayer cards, give it to really, the sick people; not just a fellow with a headache, or toothache. And people there dying with cancer. Give it to somebody who's really sick."
He said, "All right."
He went down---and this was at Phoenix. So he was giving out the prayer cards. And an Indian walked along. He said ... patted him on the back, said, "Me sick."
He said, "Well, what's the matter with you, Chief?"
He said, "Me sick."
Well, he just turned around and walked away from him.
The chief kept following him with his hands behind him. Directly... The chief was watching them prayer cards getting lower and lower. So he knocked him on the back again.
He turned around and said, "What's the matter, Chief?"
He said, "Me sick."
He said, "Chief, I'm supposed to give these to people who are really sick." Said, "What's your trouble?"
He said, "Me sick."
So, he went on a little farther, and he caught him again. He had about two, or three prayer cards. He said, "Chief, what's your trouble?"
He said, "Me sick."
Billy said, "Then write on the prayer card, 'Me sick.'"---you know like that, "Me sick."
He was sick. He didn't want to tell what was the matter with him, but the only thing he knew... Maybe that was all he could say---somebody told him to say that, you know, "Me sick." That's all he knowed.
I had one got converted one time. He didn't how to shout. So he only knowed two words, and that was "July," and "August." And he run as hard as he could, hollered, "July August! July August! July August!" That's all he knowed how to do. That's the only words he knowed how to say, but he was shouting just as much as we are when we're... That's right. It was to the glory of God. That's all he knowed how to say.

12 So, in the San Carlos meeting that night, I was speaking. I said, "You people, I'm sorry, I think it's a stain on our flag to send money over to Britain, and around like that. Them people don't get it---the poor." I'm neither Democrat, nor Republican. I'm a Christian, see, but let me tell you, that's a bunch of nonsense. I was right there to see. I was right there with ... King sent for me, and I come over. I was in his palace, and so forth. And went down there, and I know them people are half-starved to death. They don't get that money. Russia will be blowing it back to you pretty soon, so just ... like Japan did. So, brother, I'm to keep America in America. That's where she belongs.
Let me tell you, friend, when we went over there, and noticed them poor Indians laying there. Some of them, hundreds of them, die every year, because they get just a few nickels a month ... or, a few dollars a month, pension. And they can't live on it. And then they come around. They was raising some sheep and they took all them away from them. And, I don't know what they did. Just, the people freeze, starve to death, and everything. And I think that's a disgrace. I do. I'm for the Indian.

13 And so I said, "Now, I can't help that. I'm just one of the people." I said, "Our fathers pushed you back, and so forth, and took what you had away from you. And take your hunting grounds. And the white man's a murderer to begin with. He run out and shoot the buffalo, not just for meat, but just to see how many he can kill.
And that's the right way. I was a game warden here in Indiana for about seven, or eight years. I know it's the truth. The white man is... When he's unconverted, he's just nothing but a murderer. He just take ... kill everything he can get his hands on. Just to shoot to see if he can shoot.
That went pretty deep, but brother, this is the Gospel I'm telling you about up here. It's the truth. It's right. If the law is get five squirrels, he'll get six or seven, eight or ten, if he can get them. That's right. And I know that's his nature, but not an Indian. If he catches one, and there's a bigger one there, he got two of them; he'll turn one loose, and keep the other one. He's a real conservationist.

14 Now ... but anyhow, I said, "They pushed you back. And that's what they've done to you: Pushed you back, and pushed you back. You got a raw deal, but," I said, "I can't help that. I don't set the laws of this nation, but I'm trying to tell you about Somebody, tonight, who'll give you the right kind of a deal---and that's Jesus Christ the Son of God." I said, "He died to save you, just the same as He died to save the rest of them." And I said, "Of course, you have a right to doubt that, right now, I suppose, but if God does prove that I'm telling you the truth, well then, there's no way at all for you to doubt it any longer."
So, I called for a prayer line. And usually, if you call for a prayer line without cards, you know what you get---a stampede. So then, I didn't have no prayer cards. So, I just got in there just a few minutes beforehand. And I said, "We haven't got any prayer cards, so, how many wants to be prayed for? Raise up your hand."
There was just only one interpreter there. Nobody raised up their hand.
I said, "All that wants to be prayed for, line up right down this way."
Nobody lined up.
Well then, the missionary went back in the little church, and she brought out some women she had in there. And here they all come out.

15 And you women, you ought to see them little Indian babies---the cutest little things. But, what I can't understand, they had them all hanging on pegs, and every one of them looked just exactly alike. How they could tell them apart, I couldn't tell. One would go get one, swing on her back. Little fellow never cried, or nothing, he just sat there. I was playing with one of them.
The lady come through, and as soon as I was trying to talk to her just a few moments, I seen she had a venereal disease. Not because she was immoral---the way she had to live. So I said, "It's a venereal disease."
And the interpreter said... She turned and looked at me, and them black eyes snapped. She looked back at the lady. And the interpreter said, "Is that right?"
Yes, but how did I know it? See. That's what she wanted to know.
I said, "Now, she isn't immoral, she's a true woman. But what it is, it's the way she has to live." But it was a venereal.
So, she wanted the interpreter to ask me if God would heal her.
I said, "Yes, if you believe it." So, I had prayer for her.
Next one coming through was a ... oh, glaucomas is of the eyes, which is very familiar amongst the Indians.

16 And the next come through was a little girl---and she was deaf and dumb. I said, "Now, the little girl is deaf and dumb. She had fever sometime ago, and it made her go deaf and dumb.
And the mother of the baby ... "That's right. That's exactly right."
And I said, "Do you believe that God will heal the baby?"
"Yes." She believed it.
So I asked the Lord if He'd heal the baby. When I got through, I went, 'snap'."
She turned and looked at me---that little girl.
I said, "Can you hear me?"
And the interpreter begin to speak to her. And she could hear, and she could speak. She started mumbling off something like that.
I said, "Oh, she'll talk better after awhile."
She said, "Hmm. Her talk heap good now."

17 So, the next one in the line was a little cross-eyed boy. Anyone could see he was cross-eyed. I never seen God turn a cross-eyed child down yet---never.
So, I think what did that, I had such a horror of looking at it. When my little Sharon---my little baby---was dying in the hospital many, many years ago, the little thing suffered so hard, when I got to her, her little blue eyes had crossed. And that just kills me to see a cross-eyed child. I think of that. You know, sometimes you have to grind a flower to get the perfume out of it, don't you.
There, that little fellow looked up at me, his little old coarse, horse-mane hair hanging down. He looked at me---little red face. And I picked up the little fellow. I thought, Now, if God will do that before these Indians, that'll give favor.
I put the little fellow up against me, and I said, "Dear God, please have mercy. I pray Thee that Thou will heal the little fellow. And give favor before these people, that I might tell them about Thy beloved Son."
Of course, the interpreter wasn't interpreting that. They was just standing there, watching and I knew God healed that baby.
I said, "Now..." Before I took him off my shoulder, I said, "Now, have them all look this way." And they looked that way. I said, "Now, if God's healed this little cross-eyed boy, will you believe?"
They was looking at one another, you know. They didn't say a word.
I turned his little face around like that, and his little eyes was normal as anybody here.
My, you talk about a prayer line. I had one, really, in a few moments. Looked like a stampede, with the dust a-flying. They had to throw out...
How many knows Reverend Jack Moore? I guess some of you do; and Gordon Lindsay, and them was up there.
And so, the prayer line was coming.

18 The next old, Indian woman, they had an awful time getting her quiet. She had two broomsticks, or some kind of sticks, and they had rags wrapped around the top for crutches. She looked to be about seventy-five, or eighty years old. She had long plaits hanging down, and leather plaited in her hair. And she was to be the next one in the line, but they were crowding and pushing so at that platform, they got a bunch of Indians, and stood them up there to keep them down.
And so, there was a young Indian boy jumped over the platform, and jumped up here. And he was going to be the next. Well, Brother Moore couldn't tell him to get back, so Brother Moore is a little, kind of short, stout, Irish fellow. He just picked him up by the ribs, like that, and set him back, to let this woman come on. She was next.
And so, here she come. And the poor, old thing. She'd set these crutches out, and she was ... arthritis, you know, just so bad. Bless her old heart. I hope to meet her in glory some day. When she got right up close to me, like that, she looked up at me, and them great big ditches in her face---an old mother. And the tears making their way down through them old ditches. Many a hard day on that desert. An old mother, probably had rocked her babies a many times, and lived on whatever they could get a hold of.
She looked up at me like that, and her lips was quivering. She kind of smiled, batted her eyes. Reached over and got a hold of one crutch, the other one put it in her hand, handed it up to me. Straightened up, went walking off that platform, just like that.
What was it? She wasn't prayed for. Didn't ask to be. God rewarded her for her faith.
Just one more thing on that Indian meeting before I close on

19 it. It was a long about three o'clock in the morning. I noticed the Indians coming through. They were wet, way up this way. I said, "What's the matter?"
The interpreter said, "They thought, first, it was false, but," said, "now they're going out into the desert, and packing their loved ones. And the ford's way down here about twenty miles. And they're not waiting to get to the ford. They're coming right on through the river with them---coming across like that."
So then, I looked, coming along the line, there was a great big fellow standing there. Robust-looking Indian, his lips real blue. That desert gets cold of a morning like that. And he was just shivering.
I looked. He had a big, wide board with a stick across this way, and a stick across that way. And an old Indian man laying on there with his hands across this stick, and his legs across the other one. And the other man was packing it. No stretchers, just was using that for a stretcher.
And I said, "Do you speak English?"
He said, "Leetle."
And I said, "Aren't you afraid you'll take pneumonia?"
"No. Jesus Christ has take care of me. I bring my father."
Said, "Oh, that's it." I said, "Do you believe if I ask Jesus to heal your father, He'll heal him?"
"Yup. That's why I brought him."
I said, "Pass him on by."
As he went by, I laid my hands over on the old man. I said, "Dear God, an old, ancient father, here. Laying here, old, crippled up, shaking with palsy," like that. I said, "Have mercy on him, God, and heal him, I pray, in Jesus' name."
I said, "Now, take him on. As you believe, so will it be."
I brought another one---the next one coming. Just so tired, I could hardly stand there. I heard somebody, screaming, going on. Looked, and the old man had the board on his own shoulder, going along, waving at everybody, like that. Just walking along.
Just that simple. But, you try to figure it all out---how it happens---and that's the reason you miss it. That's right. They just simply believe.

20 Now, that's the simplicity of faith. But Israel had got away from God in these times, and faith was very scarce.
So, there was a man, Jehoshaphat, who was a righteous man---the King of Judah. And he went up. And King Ahab, you know how bad he was. And Elijah, the prophet, had prophesied concerning him, and about the garden that he had taken to. Jezebel had killed Naboth, taken his vineyard. And Elijah said, "The dogs will lick your blood." A prophet sent from God told him that the dogs would lick his own blood. Because how he had done this righteous man, and cheated, and took his vineyard.
And then, here his son come along---Jehoram---taken the place of his father, and was a very wicked man. Still worshipping the idols of his mother, Jezebel, a little Egyptian princess. Marrying out of their ranks, that's what did it. It'll do it in your home, too. Marry amongst unbelievers and see what takes place. You'll lose your victory right there.

1 Kings 21:7 And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

1 Kings 21:8 So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

1 Kings 21:9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

1 Kings 21:10 And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

1 Kings 21:11 And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

1 Kings 21:12 They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

1 Kings 21:13 And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.

1 Kings 21:14 Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

1 Kings 21:15 And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

1 Kings 21:16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

1 Kings 21:17 And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

1 Kings 21:18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.

1 Kings 21:19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

1 Kings 22:50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

1 Kings 22:51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.

1 Kings 22:52 And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin:

1 Kings 22:53 For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.

21 Watch.
Then, when they went out, and Jehoshaphat... What a slip-up on him, to make an alliance with such a person as that fellow---an unbeliever. He got in the same trouble we did when we made an alliance with Russia, and sent them over all of our planes, and things, during the other war. Now, they're going fly them back, and shoot them at us, see. "How can two walk unless they be agreed?"
We wouldn't accept the cross of Christ that was preached, and now we got a double-cross. That's exactly right.
Same thing taken place there. And there Jehoshaphat went out with the King Jehoram, the King of Jerusalem. And they went out to make war with the kings of the Philistines, or, Moabites, rather. And they went seven days... Now look, all tied up in business. Didn't stop to consult God.
When you come to the meeting tonight... If you're sick, did you come, say, "Now Father, I'm going down there. I ask you to be merciful to me, and let my faith be raised up, tonight, to a place where I can believe Your Son, and be healed." Did you think to pray? When you heard the meeting was going to be up here at Connersville, did you pray? Go around, get the neighbors, and have little prayer meetings? We forget those things, and that's why we get in trouble.

2 Kings 3:9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

22 They went seven days out into the wilderness; never fetched no compass. And come to find out, they got in trouble. They went without consulting God, and all the water supply was cut off.
That's what's the matter with the church tonight; the water supply is cut off. Trying to carry the church on without the supernatural. Trying to carry the church on just in its natural. Trying to pattern after the other churches of the world and that's the reason we're not having the blessings we used to have.
Someone said, "I'd walk fifty miles on cobblestones, barefooted, to get to a good old-fashioned, Holy-Ghost revival again."
What's the matter? God's still God! You haven't consulted Him lately. Pray! That's the only way to find...
We used to sing a little song: "Pray, pray, the only way to reach higher grounds. Pray, pray, the prayer of faith will bring God's blessings down." That's the only way to do it.

23 All right.
But they went without consulting God, and found out their water supply was cut off. They were in the middle of the desert, dying. So there had to be enough religion in one of them to think about consulting God, and that was Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah, a righteous man. He said, "Isn't there a prophet of the Lord somewhere that we could consult about this thing?"
Kind of late to think of it then, wasn't it? "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all other things will be added."
Said, "Isn't there one somewhere?"
And one of his servants came and said, "Yes. Here is Elisha, who poured water on Elijah's hands." My! Must rub off a little bit, now and then.

2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

24 I remember one night, I got called down on that. I said, "All you Christians sit where the sinners are. It's just like smallpox, it'll break out all over you."
About two night after that, in the same tent revival, back when I was just still in the Baptist revivals; there was a little woman got up, with her hair combed back so slick, her face was shining like a peeled onion. She said, "I've heard preachers say ... sit next to you, so it would rub off." She said, "Bless God, it never rubbed off on me." Said, "I paid the price, like the rest of them did, and got it."
I thought, Oh, my! Let me keep still.
That's right. It don't rub off. You have to be willing to receive it.

25 But Elisha had poured water on Elijah's hands. What a marvelous prophet. He had a double portion.
I like that Elijah and Elisha in type. Let's type it a minute. Look. Elijah, the old prophet, represented Christ. Elisha represents the church---the young prophet.
Now, when they started, I want you to notice their journey. When Elijah found Elisha, he was working in the field. He took his mantel, and threw over him, and said, "Follow me."
And he killed the ox, made a feast for the poor, and followed Elijah.
And when Elijah said, "I've got to go up to Dothan." So when he started up, he told the young prophet, said, "You stay back."
He said, "As the Lord lives, and your soul never dies, I'll not leave you." I like that. Stay right with it.
And he went on up. And he said, "Now, you stay here. I've got to go up to the school of the prophets." Second stage of the journey.

1 Kings 19:19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

1 Kings 19:20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?

1 Kings 19:21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

2 Kings 2:2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

2 Kings 2:3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

2 Kings 2:4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.

2 Kings 2:5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

2 Kings 2:6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.

2 Kings 3:11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may inquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

26 First stage---Martin Luther stage---first stage of the journey. Second stage was the school of the prophets. Elijah went up there and he said to Elisha, "Now you stay here, I pray thee, for the Lord is calling me to Jordan."
But Elisha was really a prophet. He said, "As the Lord lives, and your soul never dies, I'll not leave you." I like that. Second stage of the journey on. God always has did that.
Notice. Then he said, "I'm going to Jordan."
And Elisha... Some of the prophets there at the school said, "You know your master's head will be taken from you today?"
He said, "I know it, but hold your peace." He knew what was going to take place, so he followed him.
And he got down to Jordan---perfect type of the church. The first stage of the journey was justification through Martin Luther---Dothan. The second stage of the journey was John Wesley at the school of the prophets---sanctification. Now, he's going to Jordan---dying-out time. Jordan means "death, passing over." We're entering out of all church ages.

27 I know I have Methodists, Baptists, and everything, sitting here. I have not one thing against you. God knows my heart. You're my brothers, same as any of the rest of them. And I am a member of the Baptist church myself. But I just found something good I'm trying to tell you about, something that goes just a little deeper.
You say, "Is there deeper?"
Certainly. And still more deeper coming. Don't get crystallized.
In the old journey of the children of Israel, every time, they watched that pillar of fire. Is that right? And when that pillar of fire stopped, they stopped and built under it. They were under the fire. And then, there was a thousand priests watched that. And every time that pillar of fire would move---if it was ten o'clock in the day, ten o'clock at night, noontime, whenever it was---they blasted these trumpets, and Israel broke camp and followed the light. Is that right? All right.

28 Everywhere in the stage of the journey the pillar of fire went, Israel followed. If it went this way, they went that way. If it went that way, they went that way. Right hand, or left, they followed on.
Notice. Beautiful type. In the first reformation, there was a little man by the name of Martin Luther, who got his eyes opened in the Scripture. And he knowed the just shall live by faith. And the pillar of fire began to move out of that fifteen hundred years of Dark Ages. And Martin Luther saw the pillar of fire moving; he blasted the Gospel trumpet and went out with it---built under it. But the thing of it was, Luther organized a church.
This is going to hurt. Well, brother, just like my mother... I think she's here tonight. When I was a little kid, we had to eat ... just take our meat skins that we'd get from the store, and put it in a bread pan and render it out, and make the lard and mix up some meal in there, and make hoecakes. I don't know whether you know what they are, or not.
The horrible thing was, is every Saturday night, we had to take a big dose of castor oil. I can't even stand to hardly say the name. I'd hold my nose; I'd gag. I'd say, "Mama, I just can't take that stuff. It makes me so sick."
She said, "Honey, if it don't make you sick, it don't do you any good."
So I say that's the same thing tonight. If this to make you right good and sick, it won't help you, maybe.
All right.

29 God never did deal with organizations. God deals with men. The Holy Ghost never fell on organizations; It fell on men. That's right.
Notice. The first organized church is the mother church---the Catholic church. The rest of them are offsprings from her.
Now, but the word church means "called out, separated."
Now, notice. Then Luther---the pattern---he organized the Lutheran church. And one day, the pillar of fire moved out. And Luther was so organized, and had his rituals and things, he couldn't move with it.

30 So there was a little fellow in England named John Wesley. He saw the pillar of fire moving, and away he went with it, and preached sanctification. Luther couldn't preach sanctification, because he preached justification. So Wesley began to preach sanctification. And away he went. The fire moved on.
Well, then, the first thing you know, Wesley become so organized. You either had to be Wesleyan Methodist, or you was nothing---you was not in it. That's right. And then, off come these other little springs from it.
And one day, the pillar of fire began to move away, and the Pentecostal group saw it. So, Wesley couldn't take speaking in tongues, and gifts of the Spirit, and things. He had to stay there, he'd taught against it. So, he was organized so tight he couldn't move. And the pillar of fire moved on away from him, and the Pentecost moved with it. That's right.
But now, here. Now the Pentecost is organized so tight, the pillar of fire's moving again, and they can't move. That's just exactly right. Amen! But, brother, God's fire is moving just the same! [Break in tape.] ... just the same.

31 Look here. The organized church was Moses, the lawgiver. And the lawgiver Moses glorified himself instead of God, and wasn't permitted to take the children over Jordan.
And the church today is glorifying themselves. "I belong to the Assemblies." "I belong to Church Of God." "I belong to this, that, or the other."
What are you anyhow? That's right. It's the truth!
Now, there's good men in every one of them. We are brethren. Break down that thing
But, look. A man that had been with them all along, Joshua---a type of the signs and wonders. He was the one who was permitted. Not the church group, not the organization, but Joshua was pulled out, and took the children of Israel across Jordan. That's right. Amen.

Numbers 20:12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

32 Notice, back to my Scripture... I feel like I could almost preach tonight. Look. Now, look here. When he went the first trip... When he found the church, the first stage down there was justification, John Wesley ... I mean, Luther's age. Second stage: The school of prophets---sanctification---Wesley's age, schools and organizations and so forth. Third stage: Pentecost---crossing the river.
Notice, when he got there, there stood the Jordan before him. He took off his mantel, struck the water, and went across. And he said, "Now ... (oh, my!) now that you've crossed, keep your eye on me. Now, after you've come through, and separated everything, severed yourself, keep your eye on me."
We got too many crossed-eyed Christians (if you want to take it that way)--- one eye on Christ, and the other one on the world. Take it off! Look to Him only!
"I'll see what my neighbor says about it." I'll see what this guy says."
What do I care what they say? They don't save you. God saves you. Keep your eye on Him.

33 Across the river they went. Said, "What will you ask?"
I wish we had time to take up before this---the law of adoption. Pentecost was born (that's right) like the son, but that same son was born in a family had to be adopted also. That's right.
There's where you missed your calling, friends. When the adoption time come, if the tutor that raised the child found the child not worthy, they absolutely still remained a son, but missed their adoption. But, if they was adopted into the family, then they was full fellowship with... Any check that they wrote was just as good as what their daddy wrote.
That's what's the matter today, brother. The church ought to be in adoption right now, bringing into the full favors of God. But the thing, we're ups-and-downs, and ins-and-outs, and ups-and-downs, and ins-and-outs till God can't trust us with nothing, hardly.
"One day I belong to the Assemblies, the next day I belong to something else. And I'm Methodist the next day, and a Baptist next day."
You pack your paper from church to church. And every little group that you go into the group, "I'm in the Baptist now. And the first thing you know, somebody makes me angry, the deacon gets angry with me, the pastor says something I don't believe. I pick up my paper, and take off over to the Methodist. If the Methodist don't get them, I take them down, go down to the Assemblies, or I'd go to the Church of God." You've packed your paper till it's wore out. Get your name written in the Lamb's book of life, and forget about it. That's right.
I've been in the Branham family forty-four years, and they never did ask me to join the family. I was born in it! I'm a Branham by birth! And you're a Christian by birth! Hallelujah! You don't join the family of God, you're born in the family of God. That's right.
All right.

34 Notice. He said, "Ask me what you will, now, and I'll give it to you."
Watch. He wasn't afraid to ask. He said, "I want a double portion of your spirit." Amen. I like that. Ask abundantly. Ask for great things. Believe for great things. Said, "A double portion of your spirit."
Said, "You've asked a hard thing, but nevertheless, if you see me when I go, you'll have it."
Oh, my. I tell you, he had one single thought. That prophet didn't get out of his view. He stayed right with him, watching him. On he went. On he went, up the mountain, down through the valley; up the mountain, down through the valley, but he kept his eye on that prophet.
After a while, they was up at the top of the hill, and down from heaven come a chariot of fire, scattered them apart. And Elijah jumped up on the chariot, looked back to Elisha, pulled off his mantel and threw it back to him, and away he went into heaven.
Elisha took that mantel, and walked down to the Jordan, stood there. And there was the school of prophets over there, looking at him to see what he'd do. He took that mantel, and doubled it back and forth, and struck the Jordan, said, "Where is the God of Elijah?" And she divided one way, and the other way.
A beautiful type of the church, who's come down through the Lutheran age, the Methodist age, and through Pentecost age, and now crossing the Jordan.

2 Kings 2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

2 Kings 2:10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

2 Kings 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

2 Kings 2:13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

2 Kings 2:14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

35 Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Watch! Jesus was a type of the church. He was standing one day, and a woman run up, said, "I want my son to sit on one side, and one on the other."
Said, "Can you drink the cup that I drink?"
She said, "Yes, Lord."
Said, "Truly you can, but can you be baptized with the baptism that I'm baptized with?"
Said, "Yea, Lord."
Said, "Truly, you can. But the right hand and left hand is not Mine to give, but My Father which is in heaven."
Now, He gathered them up there, and blessed them just before they went away. And He said, "Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until you're endued with power from on high." "The things that I do shall you also, and greater than this shall you do." A double portion was promised to the church. And I tell you, they went to the upper room, and stayed there till the day that Jesus was taken up. And the same baptism of the Holy Ghost that He had on Him fell on the Pentecostal people! Hallelujah! There's your double portion!

Matthew 20:21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

Matthew 20:23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

36 Why, you people who claim to kiss the rim of the cup of the golden blessings of God, who could sit still in such a day (My!) when you've got a double portion among you? Where is the God that was on Jesus Christ? Where is He at? The One who knowed the thoughts of the people's mind, the one who did this, that, or the other." He said, "The things that I do, shall you also." "The baptism that I'm baptized with, you'll be baptized with the same. And a double portion shall come! Hallelujah!
Where is the God that was on Jesus Christ? He's here in Connersville, Indiana, sweeping over this building right tonight---the same Holy Ghost. The trouble of it is, you feel it, and you know His presence is here, but you're afraid to turn loose to it! Amen!

37 "Yes." Said, "This fellow poured water on Elijah's hands. He's a real prophet." Yeah, he was. He'd been in good company. Said, "Go get him."
So, they got on their chariot, and away they went; and stood before the prophet's house. He come out, and he looked at them kind of angry. He looked all around. He said, "Why don't...?" Said to Jehoram, "Why don't you go to your mother's prophets? Back there to the idols of Baal? Why don't you get down there to them? Why did you come to me?" He said, "If it wasn't that I respected the presence of Jehoshaphat, I wouldn't even look at you."
Kind of got his dander up---that preacher did. You know they can do that.
He said, "If it wasn't ... I wouldn't even look at you. But, nevertheless, bring me a minstrel."
See, he got his temper all up. He had to get calmed down.
Now, you people that don't believe in music in the church, what about that? The minstrel begin to play, and the Spirit come on the prophet.
If music helped bring the Spirit on the prophet, then it'll do the same thing tonight! Spirit.

38 Now, I can't make much music. I just got a ten-string instrument here, but I can sure do the best I can with that. Like that.
"Well," you say, "I'm not the prophet."
Be one of the instruments, then. Make a little music somewhere. Do something!
And the Spirit of the Lord come upon him. And when the Spirit come, he begin to see things. A vision come. And he looked around, he said, "Thus saith the Lord, get out there and go to digging ditches. For you're not going to hear any wind, or see any rain, but thus saith the Lord, the ditches is going to be filled up with water."
Brother, I'm telling you, they went to digging. Right out there in that desert. How's it going to come? There ain't going to be no rain. That's God's business to take care of that. It's your business to dig ditches. That's right.

39 They went to digging. Someone said, "Well, I got the digger..." The deeper you go, the more water you're going to have.
That's the same thing tonight. Get to digging some ditches, so the Holy Ghost can travel through it!
That water that come from that rock that was in the desert out there, that had been smitten in the days of Moses, it is still there! It's still here, tonight. That same rock that the children of Israel drank from. He was that rock.
"God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son; whosoever believes in Him'll not perish." A perishing people---from the smitten rock---lived. And He's the smitten rock, tonight, to a perishing people! The only hope of life there is! Perfect type. There He was.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

40 The trouble of it is, you go to digging... The first thing you know, you stick your shovel down, say, "Pay ten percent."
"Unh-uh. Can't do that." You don't get much water.
The next thing, now, if you'll just keep on digging, brother, and keep on digging. And dig them old doubts out, them old dish pans, and rocks, and stones, and things like that. Dig deep enough to throw it all out! And get enough water flowing through there so you can get a good, decent drink once in a while.
What's the matter tonight, you got to dig away from your church, dig away from this, dig away from that, and dig into Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

41 The next morning, they come to find out, they seen some water. The Moabites looked and said, "Looks like blood." And it begin to run into... Said, "They thought they slaughtered one another. And Israel won the victory, stopped up all the wells over there that day, broke down every city, and won one of the greatest victories of all the ages.
Brother, if you'll dig that ditch in your life tonight, and throw out all that old nasty stuff in your life, and heart, that don't belong there. Throw out all the old unbelief, and what Doctor So-and-so said...
