Mary's belief

1 ...heads for a word of prayer.
O Lord, we are grateful to Thee to have the privilege of coming again to the house of God. I believe it is written in the Scripture: "I was happy when they said unto us, let us go to the house of the Lord." And we know no greater privilege that we have than to come to Thy house and worship Thee. And we pray tonight, Father, that this will be an outstanding night because of the presence of the Holy Ghost.
May the sinners be saved tonight, everyone that's in divine order. And may all the sickness be healed tonight and God's name be glorified. For we ask it in the name of His dear beloved Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
You may be seated.

2 A few nights ago I was telling a story here of what happened in Los Angeles, both to the visible audience and the radio audience, of one of the most pathetic sights that I had ever seen; was a little baby dying with cancer in a hospital here. And I was staying with my good friend Brother Minor Arganbright. And it happened to be, as I was telling the story, that the father of the child was present. And I asked him if he would bring the little baby tonight, which is now about seven or eight months old. And the little baby was sent home from the hospital and eat its first food, and it's well now.
So the family is here tonight to present to this visible audience, little Ricky DePompa. And they'll bring him out at this time now. You'll be able to see the little boy that was dying with cancer in the hospital, and the Lord Jesus healed this little baby. Little nine months old, I guess, Ricky DePompa. Let's give God a praise for this great thing. That's little Ricky. I think that it's a miracle of Almighty God. I know you all are happy.

3 Let us just bow our heads and offer thanks.
Lord, a trophy of Your grace. Little Ricky is alive tonight because of Your goodness. He's here and we're grateful. Let the little fellow become a great man to take this Sword after his father has to lay it down. I pray this blessing for little Ricky. In Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

4 Thank you all so much for bringing him tonight; that's very nice of you. Thank you very kindly.
Radio audience, you should have seen this little fellow that had a head almost two or three times the size of a normal baby. And its little jaws were so cut through where the doctors had worked faithfully to save the little fellow's life. And there was nothing could be done. It had just made the demon angry, and the little tongue stuck out through its mouth and turned black, and it cut off its wind where it could not breathe through its nose or its throat. They had to cut down here in his throat, or chest, and put a little whistle in so it could breathe its breath in that way. And a nurse pulling mucus from that so the little fellow could keep its breath. And here he is tonight a normal baby by the grace of God. We are thankful to the Lord.
Now, to you who are suffering with cancer, take courage; God is a healer.

5 Tonight I wish to read some of God's sacred words found in Saint Luke the first chapter and the thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth verse. I believe I will read the thirty-sixth verse also:
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she has also conceived a son in her old age; ... this is the sixth month with her, which was called barren.
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
The spring sun was rising high in the Judean skies as she started up the street that morning with the water-pot under her arm. And her little youthful mind was thinking of the day before; how that at the synagogue, where she and her espoused husband had sat and listened to a sermon from the Rabbi... And how in his talk he had explained to the people why they were settled in that land, that it had been a promise that God had made their father Abraham hundreds of years before, that they should inherit that land; and how that when God made a promise that He could not go back on that promise, and that they had come through the Red Sea as on dry ground, and how that before that, that God has taken them out of the hands of the enemy.

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

6 And God loves to take His children out of the hands of the enemy. He's proved it the way He did little Ricky here.
Took them from the hand of the enemy, and by great signs and wonders, and fed them in the wilderness for forty years. And they came out of the wilderness, a forty-year journey, with not a feeble one among them. Even their clothes didn't wear down. What a great God that they had!
But at the end of his message he ruined what he had been talking about when he said that those great days of Jehovah dealing with people like that, it wasn't necessary no more. They had become settled down in their homeland, and they didn't exactly need miracles no more. They had good doctors for their sickness (which is certainly all right), and that they had ... they were better off, they had their homes, and they just didn't need the God of miracles anymore. But somehow that didn't satisfy the thirst and hunger of Joseph and Mary.
You see, they were engaged to be married soon.

7 And as custom was, that after service was over, why, he would go home with her sometimes to her home. For where her home was, it's just across the hill where Joseph the carpenter was building a special little house. You know it had to have that little special touch to it, because it was the one he was going to bring his little bride to. The doors had to shut just perfect, the windows had to be plumb; for that was where he was to spend his life with his little wife.
And after the noon meal they would go out on the front porch, perhaps, and look across towards that little home and dream of the time that when they would be together, happy, living at the house; and how the roses would be around the windows, and so forth. Then on this certain Sunday afternoon, Joseph said, "This seems to be a strange day."

8 And Mary said, "You know, since I heard the Rabbi say that this great God that brought us here and made us what we are, then He doesn't have to do things for us now like He did then... I've been thinking for a long time that if this God was as great in the days of our fathers as He was in the days of our grandfathers, then why isn't He just the same great God today?"
That's only good thinking. And she goes back into the house and said, "We will read some of the Scriptures, just wherever God will lead us." And she picked up the Scroll of Isaiah. And she begin reading, we'd say something like this: Isaiah 9:6, "Unto us a son is born, unto us a child is given."
And she looks over with her lovely soft eyes, and said to her husband-to-be, Joseph, "Who do you think the prophet was speaking of?"
"Why," Joseph said, "Mary, I believe that he was speaking of the Messiah that is to come. And that's why that we keep our blood stream clean and don't mix with other nations, because someday God is going to send the Messiah among us."
She was thinking on this as she went along the side of the street real early as the sun was rising. And she was going up to the public well to get her daily supply of water. Usually the women come just a little later to get the water, but Mary, somehow she was led to go early that morning. And as she walked along thinking on these things, she felt a strange feeling around her.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

9 And you know, it's usually when we're thinking about God, and keeping our minds on God, that God comes close to us.
I think that's one of the great troubles of the people of this day. We have too many other things on our mind. Even when we come to a healing service, we seem to think, "Well, I did not get a prayer card tonight." Or perhaps, "I will not be prayed for." We will never be able to accomplish much as long as we keep those kind of thoughts.
This Angelus Temple is thirsting for a outbreak of the Holy Spirit. Not only that, but the whole United States, speaking of the Christian realm, is waiting for a revival in our time. But we're waiting for something to happen, and I believe that God has let it happen; and we're just so pushing it somewhere else until it'll pass over us and our time of Grace will be gone.
Let's be positive in our thinking. Let's believe that this night now the revival will break in Angelus Temple tonight. Let's believe that this is the night that God will do the exceedingly abundantly above all that we could do or think; He will do it tonight. Don't take no for the answer. It's when we think those things, you create an atmosphere around you.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

10 And as she was thinking on this, she raised up her eyes and she thought that she saw a light flicker. And the little virgin perhaps rubbed her lovely angel-looking eyes, and she looked around and, "Well, maybe it was the sun that a-kind of reflected off of something."
And she goes on and turns the corner, starting up towards the public well. She drops her little head again and pulls her little shawl around her shoulders. And she went on about her way thinking of, "What did this Isaiah 9:6 mean?"
When God puts something upon a person's heart, He's ready to do something. That's the reason that He's ready to give the Angelus Temple an outbreak of the Spirit, because it's on your hearts!
And as she thought on these things, after awhile she raised her head again. She felt a real strange feeling.
I just love to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. It just gives that blessed assurance. You don't always have to see it; it's there anyhow.

11 And as she moved along, and she raised her head again, and there stood this great light before her, perhaps the same Pillar of Fire that led the children of Israel. Come walking from that light came the great Archangel Gabriel, and he said, "Hail, Mary! (means to stop) Blessed art thou among the women."
Hard telling, the other women went to the well that morning, perhaps thinking about the washing they had to do or some task or some society in the church they had to take care of; but Mary was thinking on the Scriptures! Was not it Cleopas and his friend on the first Easter morning, that they were thinking on the Scriptures when Jesus appeared to them?
And as she saw this great angel, it startled the little virgin, and she stopped. And he came close to her and saluted her. And he gave her a message. That was a hard message for that child to believe, for she wasn't nothing but a girl. And he gave her something to believe that was more outstanding and hard to believe than anything he'd ever give to anyone.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luke 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

12 Six months before that He'd met Zacharias the priest at the temple. And he was an aged man, and had read the Scriptures, and had taught the Scriptures. And because that he was old and his wife was barren, the angel, same angel, told him that after the days of his ministration at the altar, waving the incense over the people's prayer, that when he went home his wife would conceive and bear a child. And that preacher questioned the angel! "How can it be? I'm old, and my wife is old."
He had plenty of examples in the Bible. There had been Hannah at the Temple, that had Samuel the prophet after she was old. And there had been Sarah, who brought forth Isaac after she was nearly a hundred years old.
And here this little woman had to believe something that had never happened. A woman having a baby without knowing any man. She said, "How shall these things be, my Lord?"
He said, "The Holy Ghost shall overshadow thee: and that Holy thing that'll be born from you will be called the Son of God."
Watch her. She didn't question that. She said, "Behold the handsmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to Thy Word."
If we could just do that! That's the only thing. That's what God loves. That's the only way to get right with God, is take Him at His Word. That's the only way that there is to please God: take His Word. Don't trust your knowledge. You'll reason, "How can it be done? It cannot be done." When you reason, then you lose the victory. We must cast down reasonings and believe what God has said to be the truth.

Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

1 Samuel 1:20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

Luke 1:7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Luke 1:18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

13 Mary took Him at His Word, and He changed the whole course of natural life for her.
And He will change the course of your life tonight if you'll take Him at His Word. If you are a sinner, He will straighten that crooked life of yours out. If you're vile and immoral, He will make you as pure as a lily if you'll just take Him at His Word. That vile conscience of sin that makes you look at immoral things and use the name of the Lord in vain, have temper enough to fight a buzz saw; He will change that course of life for you and make you a new creature in His Son Christ Jesus by just taking Him at His Word.
If you have cancer tonight, He will change that for you and give you health. If you have tuberculosis or sickness of some kind that the doctors cannot help, He will change that for you if you'll just take Him at His Word. This is His Word: "I'm the Lord thy God that heals all thy diseases." Oh, how glorious and marvelous our Lord is.

Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Psalm 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

14 Now, as soon as the angel had told her about her cousin, and she accepted the Lord's will to be done, the only thing she knowed would happen, that the Holy Spirit was going to do it.
Oh, if we could only get that settled in our hearts. How can a cancer be cured when the doctors give it up? It's not me to try to figure it out; it takes the Word of the Holy Spirit. He was the One who made the promise. He's the One who confirms that promise. He's obligated to keep that promise.

15 And I want you to notice another thing about Mary: she did not wait till she was positive. She didn't wait till she felt life, or some physical sign that she was going to have this baby before she said anything about it. She just took ... God's Word was good enough for her. And she started rejoicing right away.
Oh, if the Angelus Temple, if you people here tonight... You know it's the will of God to break forth here tonight. You know it's the will of God to send a revival in this tabernacle tonight. God gives the promise. I've been asked to stay over another week, and I've accepted it to stay another week, because ... (Thank you.) because that I...

16 Before I left home I stretched the time out a little bit to take a fishing trip where I've always wanted to go, down in Mexico, and my good friend Brother Arganbright was going to fly me down there at his expense. And how I love to fish. But it was put before me. Reservations are made, the plane's ready to leave Monday, but I felt in my heart that God was going to do something here at the Angelus Temple. And I'm not a fanatic.
When I left home I said to my field secretary, Mr. Mercier, I said, "I believe I will stay an extra week at the Angelus Temple, for I want to see a revival break again in that Temple that'll send the power of God, that will sweep around the world." That the reviving of the people of God are coming together again, bone to bone, and the sinew skin. I believe that God is going to do it! Somehow I feel I have a promise that He's going to do it. In my heart there's something moving in me, tells me something's going to take place! I've canceled everything to make ready for it, give it room to see what this is on my heart that's speaking for this.

17 Mary, she didn't wait till she was positive. She didn't wait till she seen some physical sign. If I look for a physical sign for what I'm led for tonight, I'd look for every seat in here to be taken up, when the place is only about two-thirds full. But that doesn't matter. We don't have to have a overflowing crowd. There was a hundred and twenty in the upper room, but they were all in the hands of God! God started a revival with them hundred and twenty completely surrendered into His hands that's never ended. A fire that cannot be put out.
What could God do here tonight with these hundreds in His hands? It's just getting ready, believing, holding His promise before Him.

18 Now, Mary could have waited till she had some kind of a sign that she was going to be mother.
And you could wait after the meeting's over until you feel that you could move your cripple legs just a little better, or you could hear a little better out of that deaf ear, or the cancer seems to be that it wasn't bothering you so much. That's not taking God at His Word. To take God at His Word is to hear His Word and accept it and start rejoicing with it.

19 We could see five hundred rush to the altar tonight, which would be a good sign then that the revival is going to break. We don't have to have five hundred at the altar; we just have to take God's Word for it and start rejoicing. Something will happen. That brings the Word to life, as we water it with praises. What makes a seed grow? Water. What makes the Word of God grow is the praises of God.

20 When Jesus told them to wait in the upper room in the city of Jerusalem until they was endued with power from on high, that Word fell on their ears. They was in the temple continually praising God day and night. What was they doing? Watering that promise. And all of a sudden there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. The Word was being watered, and it took life and started growing.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Luke 24:53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

21 You're wanting a revival, start watering the Word, the promise. That makes me feel religious myself. If you want to come out of the wheelchair, start watering the Word. If you want to come from that cancer, start watering the Word. Little Ricky tonight here is a testimony that God heals cancer. He heals cancer, He heals all our sicknesses. Thousands times thousands of infallible proofs of it, we've seen.

22 Sitting in this audience tonight somewhere is Mrs. Upshaw, William Upshaw's widow. How was it down here at Copp Church the ... I believe called The World Church now. When Brother Copp was there that had the meeting that night, I never heard of William Upshaw in my life. And he would've been the congressman, I believe, for about seventeen years.

23 But when I walked to the platform, and it happened to be that he knew the old Baptist preacher that ordained me in the Baptist church, Doctor Roy E. Davis. Doctor Davis told him to come see me when I come to the coast, to have me to pray for him. And he'd moved in and was sitting in his wheelchair. All of a sudden I saw an old hay frame and a little boy fall, hurt his back. Begin to relate just what I was seeing. Someone said, "That's the old congressman sitting there, William Upshaw."

24 And in a few minutes he asked me if he thought---if I thought he'd get well. And just in a few moments I saw him in a vision walking across the top of the people's heads, bowing hisself down as he did as the southern hospitality. And in one minute's time he was on the platform rejoicing and praising God, after being in a wheelchair for sixty something years, I think. It's the evidence that God heals from the wheelchair---after sitting there in that wheelchair, wheeled around for over a half a hundred years.

25 God does things in His own way when men and women will take Him at His Word. Congressman just said, "Something struck him that he knowed it was the truth!" I didn't know him. "And if God was that close to him, he would accept it." And out of the chair he went. And that did it. Lived for many years testifying, glorifying God. And with an immortal body tonight is walking the streets of gold with the saints that's gone on before.

26 I was speaking to his wife the other day, and she ... wiping the tears from her eyes when she called him her prince. I said, "But he's just gone upstairs. He isn't dead; he's just gone upstairs, waiting up there to help you up one of these days." God works mysteriously when we take Him at His Word.

27 Mary started quickly, testifying that she was going to have this baby. How is she going to have it? She's never knowed a man, there's never been such as that ever happen, but she just took the Word of the Lord at what it meant and begin to rejoice.
If each person in here tonight that's bound with sin in your lives, will just take Him at His Word and start rejoicing; because Jesus said, "He that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. Though your sins be like scarlet, they shall be white like wool."
There's no need of being bound down; you can be free tonight from your burden of sin. If there are those here tonight who are bound by sickness, just take Him at His Word and start rejoicing. You can be free; He said so. And He's no respect of persons. "Whosoever will, let him come."

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

28 She was so happy about it, so happy God had permitted her, to let a first hand miracle be performed on her. She was so happy about it, and to hear about her cousin, Elisabeth, till she took off from Nazareth up into Judea, the hills. The little virgin going along the road, up into the mountain country.

29 Now, Elisabeth, it was six months with her as mother. And she was pretty well wearied about it. The little baby that had been promised in her old age, six months and there was no life to the little baby yet. That's altogether subnormal, for about three to four months life appears. But it was six months and there was no life. And Elisabeth had hid herself.
Somehow down in her heart she believed, though in her fearful condition, that if God had give this promise to Zacharias her husband, a just man, and she'd prayed for this baby, and the signs was a-showing it, she'd knit little booties and get ready.
That's it: make ready for it! Oh, you tonight, get your blanket off your body, get your foot on the floor, get ready, come out of the wheelchair, come off the bed, make ready for it. God who made the promise keeps the promise, if you'll water it with the praises of "Thank You, Lord," positive that you know what you're doing, for you're standing on His promises.

30 South Africa recently, a man who had never had a pair of shoes on his feet in his life, been way back in the jungles, born back there years ago by missionary parents. He was born with deformed feet.
When he come walking up through there, clubbing his feet along, had a shoe box under his arm. And someone said to him, "What you got in there?"
He said, "A pair of shoes."
Said, "What do you expect to do with them? Are they going to be your father's?"
He said, "I'm going to wear them."
And when the service was over he had those shoes on, running down through that lot just as hard as he could go, praising God. What did he do? He took God at His Word. He said so much... When he was asked, he said, "I seen others coming that was crippled, was healed. And I seen those who were blind could see again; God would not turn me down." That's the way to believe it. "God won't turn me down."

31 Mary knew that God wouldn't turn her down. And so up in the mountains she went. And I can see Elisabeth sitting back in a little room in the little adobe shack. And she brings back the curtain there, and she says, "It seems like that I ought to know that young woman coming there." And she looks again, and she said, "It's my cousin, Mary. I've never seen her so beautiful in my life. Look how happy she looks." So out of the room she went, and she grabbed Mary around the neck and begin to embrace her and hug her.
You know, people used to have a feeling for each other. But today they don't seem to care for each other. It seems like all that brotherly feeling has gone away from people. That's a shame.

32 I know my wife isn't in tonight, but here sometime ago she and I were downtown, riding down the street. And a fine lady that I knew in New Albany, she said, "Hello there, Sister Branham."
And I never heard her say a word. And I said, "Honey, the lady spoke to you."
And she said, "I spoke to her."
I said, "I didn't hear you do it."
And she said, "I smiled."
Oh my, I don't like that little old silly grin. I like a real good old fashioned pump-handle hand shake. I like a feeling in it.
That's what's the trouble tonight with people. They got so dry and starchy. That's what's the matter with the Pentecostal church. You got too starchy, friends. That's what's the matter with the Baptist church, the Methodist church, the people in general.

33 Paul Rader, who perhaps preached right in this tabernacle at this same pulpit where I'm preaching tonight, gone on to glory. He said one time that he and his wife were sitting at the table and she wanted to do something. And, "Oh," he said, "there's no need of doing that." And so somehow he hurt her feelings. And he thought, "Well, if her feelings's that easy hurt, let them be hurt."
So he got up and laid the paper on the table and went out the street. Her custom was that she would meet him at the door and kiss him good-bye. And when he went out to the end of the gate, he'd always look back and wave. Well, said she kissed him good-bye, and went on out to the end of the gate and looked back. And said she waved. And said, he started down the street, and something begin to condemn him, said, "What if she would die today while you're gone? Or what if something would happen to you? Would that little strange feeling, just a family affair...?"

34 Said he got so condemned he turned around and run back real quick. Jerked open the gate and went in, throwed open the door, looked around, he couldn't see her. He heard her; she was behind the door crying. Said he never said a thing, he just walked around there and looked her right in the face, and kissed her again. Turned around and went back out the gate; she was standing there and waved again. Said the difference of it was, the last time she waved had a feeling to it.

35 Well, that's the way it is friends. We just can't put it on artificial; we need Pentecostal fire and brotherly love back in the church of the Living God. Got too much artificial Hollywood make-up about it. We need an old-fashioned God-sent, sky-blue, sin-killing religion to start from the pulpit and sweep out.

36 Taking God at His Word... Mary, oh how she was rejoicing and patting her on the back, and Elisabeth patting her. And I can hear Elisabeth say to Mary, "O dear, I never seen you look so happy. It must be that you and Joseph are married."
"No."
"Well, what are you so happy about?" She said, "I know what you're happy about. Because that I'm to be mother."
Said, "Yes, that's part of it; I knew you was to be mother."
"Well," she said, "Mary, that's true. But I've hid myself for six months. And I'm kind of bothered, Mary, because that I'm going to be mother, and yet for six months that baby has not even moved. I'm just a little weary."
I can see the pretty eyes of Mary sparkle, and said, "Elisabeth, I've got something to tell you! I'm going to be a mother too!"
"Oh Mary, did you not just get through telling me that you and Joseph was not married?"
"That's right, we're not married as yet."
"And you're going to be mother?"
"Yes."
"Oh, I'm..." She was so surprised.
But Mary said, "Wait a minute, Elisabeth. The other morning I was on my way to the well and the same angel that appeared to Zacharias appeared to me down there, and said I was to bring forth a baby knowing no man. And I should call His name Jesus."
And as soon as she said, "Jesus," little John begot a shouting spell and begin to jump with joy. And she said, "Whence comes the mother of my Lord to me? For as soon as your salutation come to my ears, my baby leaped in my womb for joy."

Luke 1:43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Luke 1:44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

37 And if the first time that the name of Jesus Christ was ever spoke through mortal lips brought life to a dead baby, what ought it to do to this Angelus Temple who claims to be born again of the Spirit of the living God. Take Him at His Word, start rejoicing. Start believing Him. God will do great things for you if you'll just believe it. Believe Him, take His Word. It's the most honorable thing that you can do, is to take God at His Word. Do not disbelieve Him, just believe Him with all that's in you. Believe Him, and God will bring it to pass. Do you believe that?

38 Let us pray.
O Lord, You know the weakness of human life. And You know the strength of the name of Jesus. For He told us when He was on earth, that to believe that what we said would come to pass and we could have what we had said. Give us faith tonight, Lord; give us faith as we claim a revival, an outpouring of Thy Spirit here in the Angelus Temple in these coming days. Give us of Thy blessings tonight to start at this time, and may men and women who are sitting here, that's longed and waited for a time to when they could reach out by faith and say, "Jesus, I now surrender my whole life to You. I now am sick and tired of just a half way living for You." Grant tonight, Lord, that they may experience the great pouring out of the Holy Ghost in their life.

Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

39 Give to that poor, wayward sinner, Lord, who's an alien from God, cut off without God, without hope, without mercy. And in due season Christ died for that person, and now has sent the Holy Spirit to bring them to Him. Grant, Lord, that that person tonight will be able to receive Thee as their personal Saviour.

40 And may the revival get on its way right quick, Lord. Let us be like Longfellow said, "Be not like dumb driven cattle, but be a hero." Grant, Lord, that every Christian will pull up a little closer to You, take up his faith and present it to You, say, "Lord, help me to do everything that's in my power now, seeing that You're near." That the great Jesus who walked in Galilee, sending the Holy Spirit, His representative, to represent Him through this age. Grant that they will accept Him tonight.

41 O Lord, we would pray also for those who are sick and needy, those that are bound in chairs and in cots and on stretchers. Thou art more than willing to set them free tonight. If that little spark of faith, which they're now fumbling around in their heart, let it catch fire, Lord, like a kindling wood, to the promise of God. May they rise from their chairs and from their sick conditions tonight---with heart trouble and different ailments---and be set free by the Son of God, there might be again an old fashioned revival in Los Angeles.

42 Those out into the radio land, Lord, who are sick and afflicted, as we hear from them daily. "Oh, how I wished I could get to the temple," they say. Go out there now, Lord, on the ether waves of this radio. Go by that old dad laying there in the bed, mother there in the hospital, and the little baby, or whatever it might be; let the power of the living God come into their life and condemn their sickness in the light of Calvary. Raise them to health and strength again.

43 That sinner that might be listening in at this time, Lord, may they surrender their life right now. That wayward boy that mama could not get to go to church, but by chance is listening in; that girl that's in this teen-age rock-and-roll, God, let her know that that little body of hers will be eat by cankerworms soon. Then where will that wandering soul be yonder in the midst of demons of torment through all ages to come. God, may that child turn quickly to Jesus tonight. Grant it, for we ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

44 Just before... I told Billy not to give out any prayer cards tonight. I had another thing on my mind. My soul is burning for a revival. That's what's burning in my heart. When I first come to Los Angeles, I'd heard of the founder of this temple, Mrs. McPherson, and I went up to East ... or, the Forest Lawn, I believe it's called, and visited her grave and stood there, bowed my head, and said, "Lord, thank You for a great life of this woman." I didn't know her, never had the privilege of seeing her. I've got her tapes at home and her books and things that I've read. The lady perhaps made her mistakes as I have, and you have. We've all made them. But this Temple tonight stands as a memorial of her love to Jesus Christ.

45 And these nations that's around this world is also a memorial to God's honor of the work. Let's look it in the face, folks. That's exactly right. Long may it stand as a soul saving station for the kingdom of God till Jesus comes, is my simple and humble prayer.

46 You're waiting for something; you're longing for something. Every heart in here is longing for something. Hearts in radio land are longing for something. Take my word, as your brother. I know I can't talk good. The first thing, I have no education. I'm a Southerner; I mess my words all up. But don't pay any attention to that. Just overlook that. Look what I'm talking about! It's about Jesus; and He saved me in all of my corruption, and my wrong speech, and my unethical talking, and... Why, He saved me, and it's ... and as someone said from the audience, "That's good enough." It is for me. Long as I know He's in my heart, that's all I care about. The next thing is to please Him, to do all that I know how to do to please Him.

47 Now, being that I told Billy not to give any prayer cards, I thought tonight I would talk on close walk and get the people to serve God. Now, the Holy Spirit is here, the Angel of the Lord. And I've worked different types of lines here at night, taking one, just catching them down through wherever, the Holy Spirit directing me to move to talk to the people for a discernment. And as I heard Brother DuPlessis a few moments ago explaining that also. I've took the line where just taking one by one for the discernment, and then all different ways. And it seems like the people don't seem to catch it right in America. What's the matter, my beloved friends?

48 Look, if a man come in the door there tonight and he might be a Russian, a Siberian with big beard all over him. But if he give you a check, he was coming from the mail order house and a messenger give you a check for a million dollars, you could rejoice over the check just as good as you could over ... if a prince of some foreign nation would have brought it to you. It's the check you're looking at.
Now, tonight, Christ is present! You're looking for something way into the future, and I'm afraid you're going to pass over the top of it, just like it's been in all ages. Let me give you just a thought now to go with the word that I just spoke. Do you realize that's the way it's happened in all ages? You Catholic people call Saint Patrick a Catholic. Just about as much as I am. I'm the old fashioned Catholic, as I told you. But after he was dead, his ministry was finished; then he was canonized a Catholic.

49 Saint Francis of Assisi, the walking preacher with a Bible under his arm; who the birds was hollering, and he said, "Be still, my little sisters, while I preach the Gospel." Then after he was dead, you made him a Catholic. How about Joan of Arc? Any you school children would have knowed of her. How that lady saw visions, performed miracles. And what did the Catholic church do? Burned her at the stake as a witch! As a Beelzebub ... [break in tape]. For she was anointed with the Spirit of God, and she performed miracles. And the church world didn't recognize her until she was gone.
Be careful that we don't do the same thing. The Holy Spirit's here now in its fullness, in its power!
Be careful, if you don't wait till... All that didn't receive the seal of God got the mark of the beast. You know what the mark of the beast was: to reject the seal of God. In the Old Testament when the trumpet sounded---the priest sounded the trumpet---if a slave did not want to go free, he had to be sealed, bored in his ear with an awl. Then he was a slave the rest of his days.
"Faith cometh by hearing." If you don't hear it and receive it, then you're marked on the other side. Then you can't come in.
Let's start tonight in a revival and open our hearts to the Holy Spirit while the hour is here.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

50 If Jesus Christ, God's Son, will come to this audience now, and you sitting out there, if He will come and perform from the platform here, just as He did in the days of His flesh, how many in here will receive Him? Raise up your hands when you're just sitting out here, whoever you are. If it can thoroughly be proven one time that it's truth.
Moses had a sign to perform to the people, and he performed it. Israel followed him. He didn't have to keep performing that sign over and over and over again. They started following, and other miracles taken place.
Jesus had a sign to perform. Those true ones believed Him when He could perceive their thoughts. The others said He was Beelzebub because He did it. Now, which place would you want to take tonight if you had to take choice?

51 Now, I'm... Every sick and suffering person, so we can get that off our hands. There's not one person in here I know except Brother Duffield sitting there. Brother David DuPlessis. And as far as I know that's the only persons I see in here that I... This brother over here, I forget just what his name is, the teacher. Weston, yes, Brother Weston. That's the only people that I know in this audience.

52 How many out there know that I'm totally strange to you, raise your hand. Just raise up your hands, I don't know you. All right.
Now, if you're suffering, you believe God just now. This is a challenge! And if Jesus Christ will come...
"How is it done, Brother Branham?"
I wish I could tell you. I do not know. It's just ... I just yield myself to the Holy Spirit and your own faith does it. I have nothing to do with it; it's you that does it.
God, when He was going to use His gift, it was in Jesus; He showed Him that Lazarus was going to die; and He took Him away for four days, and He knowed all about it and told Him what would happen. And when He come back, He raised Lazarus from the dead. Said, "I thank thee, Father, thou hast already heard me. But for these that stood by, I said it."
Nothing about Him getting weak.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

John 11:42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

53 But a little woman touched His garment and He got weak over that, from a blood issue. See, that was the woman using God's gift. That other was God using His gift.
Now, when God gives one of the great visions, sometimes it's hours. My wife has said I sat sometime and not even moved for quite awhile. What is it? It's something going on; He tells me all about what's fixing to happen. I will take anyone to record. As many times as you heard it, hundreds times hundreds and hundreds of hundreds of times, not one time has it failed! And it can't fail. I can fail, but it can't, because that's God. And I'm just a channel given a gift that I just yield myself to the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit begins to move on you for a certain thing, it begins to move in here, and it just takes my voice and goes to speaking. That's the way it is, that's all I can say about it.
You can't explain it. Man can't explain God; you've got to believe God by faith. You don't know God by education. All your degrees don't make you know God any more. God is knowed by faith, by faith alone! And your faith is the only thing that can touch Him.

54 Now, let us pray. You yield your spirit. Please, if He shall do it, don't you fail; you raise... If you're a sinner I want you to come here at the altar. If you're a backslider, I want you to come as soon as this is over, if He shall do it. If you're a Christian, I want you to rise in Christian faith, pledge yourself that you'll serve God with all your heart and never cease praying until a revival begins to move.

55 Lord, I do not know these people, and Thou knowest it, Lord. But I pray that in the name of Thy Son, the Lord Jesus, that You will move on these hearts to have faith. Father, I realize it would make no difference how great You could anoint me; if You do not anoint somebody out there to believe it, there could be nothing done. For when You come to Your own country, there could not be many miracles performed because of their unbelief ... or, no miracles performed. Thou art the same yesterday, today, and forever. But when those who believe received You, then signs and wonders taken place. Let it be again tonight, Lord.

Matthew 13:57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Mark 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Mark 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.

Mark 6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

56 Thou knowest the heart of Your servants. We are not trying to be different; we're only trying to explain to the people, Lord, that Your desire is for them to rise in the name of Your Son. And Your presence is here to make them well, and to save them from their sins, and to heal them from their sicknesses. O Lord God, You sent Your Angel and commissioned this work; let it be again. For we ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

57 Each one of you in the audience now be real reverent. Sit still, look this way and believe, and say in your heart, "O Lord God, if You will just this time, let it once more be for me. I know the man doesn't know me, he knows nothing about me, but just let him speak to me. I want to touch the garment of Your Son Jesus, the High Priest. Then if I did that, You speak back through Brother Branham like You did Your Son Jesus that day when He promised the things that He did we'd do also. Then if You've ... can make that promise true, Lord (You promised that, You promised to send it), and if You sent that gift to Your church, then healing's in the church also, and the promise is mine, and You're dealing with me." I'm sure God will bless you if you'll do it.
Just as reverent as you can be, just quietly. I realize you ... you know where I'm standing at this time. I've got to be found telling the truth or a lie, right now.

58 Here's a little lady, sitting here with her handkerchief up to her nose, sitting out there wiping the tears from her face. She's suffering with a nervous trouble, aren't you sister? I want to ask you something: Do you have a prayer card? You do not. Well, of course, I guess we never give out any prayer cards; there's no prayer cards. But wasn't you sitting there praying to the Lord, "Let it be me, Lord." If that's right, raise up your hand, lady. Now, if we're strangers to one another, wave your hand like this, that I know nothing about you, never seen you in my life.

59 What did she touch, friends? Tell me what kind of a power that she touched that knows the secrets of her heart, and He could tell what she was praying about, repeat her prayer back to her. Do you think that woman praying in the name of Jesus could touch anything else but Christ? Wake up people to the facts that Jesus Christ is here. Not me; I represent Him. Right through here stands that Angel. Can't you see that light?

60 It's right over a little woman sitting, looking right at me through this a-way. She's suffering with a lung trouble. Cleo is your name. Do you believe that Jesus heals you of that lung trouble? You're healed, sister.
I want to ask you something while you're on your feet: I do not know you, do I? Raise your hand that I've never seen you, or we're perfectly strangers. Is that right? But you were praying for God to touch you. That you might know that I be God's servant, you're here without money. You couldn't stay much longer. Isn't that right? And you go home now. You're all right; your lung trouble has left you. Amen.

61 You just believe Him.
Here, right back up this row here there's a little lady sitting there looking right at me. And she's suffering from an abdominal trouble; it's in her stomach, in here. You got kind of lumps on your body, like. That's right, isn't it? You're from Michigan. If you'll believe with all your heart and all that's within you... If you believe with all that's within you, you can go home and be well. Do you do it, lady? Raise up your hand, say, "I accept it." Okay. Go home now and be well, Jesus Christ makes you well.
I don't know you, do I, lady? I've never seen you. We are from different states and everything. If that's right, raise your hand, lady. That's right. But God knows you.
Now, do you believe, each one of you?

62 What about you, some out here in front of me? Right straight in front this a-way, you believe. Up in the balcony. Just don't be upset; just come reverently. Say, "Lord God, speak to me." I don't care whether you're rich or poor, just as long as you've got simple enough faith to touch the High Priest.
Here. Here's the light hanging over a colored woman sitting right here on the end of the row. Right here. Mrs. Jones, that's you. People don't get it; you almost have to tell them who they are. Mrs. Jones, I don't know you, is that right? You got diabetes. You believe Jesus Christ will make you well? Raise up your hands if that's true. All right, go home and get well in the name of the Lord Jesus.

63 If thou canst believe. Here, I will show you. It attracted the attention of a woman sitting next to her. I don't know whether the woman can hear me or not; I pray that God will let me ... my voice come to her.
You're hard of hearing; it's your ears. That's right. You got a lump on the back of your hand. You are Mrs. Brooks. That's right. You can hear me now. Go home and be well; Jesus Christ makes you well.
Let's say, "Praise be to God." "If thou canst believe all things are possible." How about back over this a-way, someone?

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

64 Back over here in the middle of the aisle is a woman praying. She has high blood pressure. I see her putting the thing around her arm. This lady right down here, looking over sid... Miss ... Lord, help me. Mrs. Fry. Stand up, Mrs. Fry; Jesus Christ makes you well.
Do you believe?
That little lady, the woman sitting next to her, she's got trouble she's had for a long time. Do you have a prayer card, lady? No, of course you don't. All right. Stand up to your feet a minute. The Angel of the Lord is around the woman, that light. This lady right here. I tell you so you'll know you got the right one. This lady isn't from here; she's from Arizona. You had a car accident here some time ago; it's bothered you ever since. That's "THUS SAITH THE LORD." That's right.
It's all over now! You see what she's doing? She's shifting her body. Jesus Christ makes them well. Do you now believe? Blessed be the name of the Lord! When you won't even ... can respond to it, God calls their names and tells them who they are.

65 How many people in here wants a good close walk with God and wants this same Holy Spirit that's here now to come be in your life? Would you raise your hands up? Would you stand to your feet? Every person that wants a walk with God. The Holy Spirit is here.
How many sinners and backsliders are there that'll walk out down here at the aisle and let me come here and pray for you right up here around this rostrum? Will you come out right now? Come right along. Walk right down while the organ's playing. Don't... Just 'cause we raised the people up... The healing service is going to take place just in a minute.

66 I want you who are not right with God, and you know you're not, come right up this a-way; that's right. Walk right up in this place here. Come right up, that's right. Come right on, sinner friend. I offer you Jesus tonight, the same Jesus that knows the thoughts of the heart. Why can't I call them all? My, just look at them coming, see. But He's the One who's telling me. He's the One who's saying, "Sinners are in here, backsliders; call them quickly."

67 This may be the last chance you'll ever get. Take God at His Word! He's speaking to you now; now's the time of your redemption. Come, sinner friend. Come, backslider, wayward that's wandered away from God, come on back home tonight, won't you? I offer you Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who's present now, the very One that's talking to your heart. You be honest now, really. For this time in your life, be honest. The Holy Spirit is speaking now. Come now.
Come, every soul that's sin oppressed,
There's mercy with the Lord,
Come to this fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins,
When sinners plunge beneath the flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day;
There may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away.
Ever since by faith I saw that stream
Thy flowing wounds supply,
(Oh, blessed be the Lord, I feel
anointed deeply with the Holy Ghost.)
Redeeming love has been my theme,
And it shall be till I die.
Then in a nobler, sweeter song,
I'll sing Thy power to save,
When this poor lisping, stammering tongue
Lies silent in the grave.

68 I cannot die. He gave me immortal life through Jesus Christ. You may read a true story some day that Brother Branham went away, but remember, I'm not dead. I can't die! He give me life! I accepted it, and the same Holy Spirit that bears me record right here tonight I'm telling the truth, the Son of God is present right now vindicating that I've told the truth.
Come, sinner friend, this is the place to find rest. If you're weary and tired of life's troubles, if you're confused and flusterated over dying, come let Jesus come into your heart and take every sin away. Backslider, you come now. Come around to the altar; let's pray.

69 All right, everyone now, are you finished? Don't let this go away this night. This is the night that something must happen. I've prayed all day long, "O God, do something tonight. I've canceled, I've turned down and everything else to get here to do this. I know that something's speaking to my heart. God's Word says so, His Holy Spirit here backs it up and says, "It's the truth." What more can you want? What more can He do?

70 Remember, this is the ending of the Gentile dispensation. Remember, it's "THUS SAITH THE LORD." It's time for the Gentile age to cease. And when the Gentile age ceases, then the gospel goes to the Jew, and it's all over then. Get into the kingdom right quick, children. Come on, Methodists, come on, Baptists, come on, Presbyterian. Only thing we're asking you to do is come to Jesus.

71 Pentecost is not a denomination. Pentecost is an experience! Pentecost is no denomination; Pentecost belongs to everybody. It's an experience you have. You can't organize Pentecost. Pentecost is an experience that God gives to believers. It's for you Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist, Lutheran, whatmore. I'm a Baptist myself, and I got the Holy Ghost. I'm a Holy Ghost Baptist, and glad of it tonight; that I've got an experience of being borned again of the Spirit of God.

72 How many now, standing in your seats, wants a deeper walk with God, raise up your hands---that's got the Holy Spirit and wanting a deeper walk with God. God bless your hearts.
That's it! Oh, I seen it strike a person right then just as certain as I'm standing here. He's here to do it if you'll just believe Him. Let's raise our hands now, each one now, while we pray for the sick, pray for the afflicted, pray for the Holy Ghost to fall. You pray for somebody next to you to get the Holy Ghost. They'll be praying for you. Let's see it happen now. The Holy Ghost is here!
O Lord, Creator of heavens and earth, send down the fire from heaven and fill this room and every heart with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. May He fall like a rushing, mighty wind. Sweep into every heart and they lose all pride and their selfishness, and fall into the arms of God and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Mary's belief

1 Let us bow our heads now while we remain standing for a moment, for these handkerchiefs, so we'll be sure not to forget them. Gracious Lord, we bring to Thee tonight these handkerchiefs that represent the sick and afflicted all out through the country. Thou remains God and cannot fail to answer prayer when it is made with sincerity and faith. We ask, heavenly Father, that You'll bless these people. May they recover from their diseases and afflictions. May these handkerchiefs be symbols of this meeting tonight, and the faith that we offer Thee from the depths of our hearts. Grant it, Lord. May every power of sickness that holds the people, may it have to turn loose as soon as the handkerchief touches their body. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. You may be seated.

2 Thank you, Brother DuPlessis. I'm just a little late. A serious hospital condition, man very serious, was just brought here that couldn't wait. Just had to be taken right in from the hospital, and very, very, very sick. I said to the man, "Do you believe, sir?"
He said, "I was comfortable in the hospital, but I've been waiting in agony for you." I just believe that God's going to heal him and let him get well, go home be well now, for His glory.

3 Tonight, I just want to take just a few moments of time just to catch the feeling of the meeting, then we're going to pray for the sick, bring a prayer line right through like we said we would do, promised. And now, tomorrow morning at eight o'clock is a Businessmen's breakfast. I think that's right, Brother Shakarian. We're certainly glad to have Brother Shakarian here with us tonight on the platform. Brother Minor Arganbright somewhere in the meeting, and also Brother Bonham, real good friends of mine that's traveled practically the part of ... bigger part of the world with me in meetings. Tomorrow morning there's to be a Businessmen ... a Full Gospel Businessmen's chapter established here in your city. I think it's an asset, and I think it's ... I'm highly elated over it myself, to know that it'll be another cause for the kingdom of God, another cause to help out.
And businessmen, as I said last night, we ministers,

4 how ... I never even knowed Brother Shore hardly until this meeting. And we get together and talk, we have things in common. It's the kingdom of God, and we love to get together and talk these things. Ministers have fellowship. We belong to different organizations and things, which that doesn't bother us. We're glad that the grace of God looks over all of that.
But then businessmen, some of them come in, and one's a mechanic, the other one has an automobile business, another one a dairy business. They don't say to one another, "Well, you're not a dairyman, you're not in it." They just have fellowship one with another, and I think they got things in common, and it's good for them to talk it over. They never come ... they don't come now to take the place of the church. They only come to add to the church, to help the church in the great struggle. May the Lord bless, is my prayer.

5 Brother Williams announced the other night that they didn't have room for the ladies. I'm sorry about that, because the ladies really attend meetings, you know, but I tell you, the next one... And I tell you that I like to come to Phoenix with the ministers, and then this will make another thing I have to come to Phoenix for, for this breakfast once in awhile. And I speak for them everywhere. And then you ladies come right on down then, and we'll just get our hands in the honey jar, have a good time in the Lord.

6 Now, as it's growing late, I just want a few minutes, because I'm sure that it's hard to teach behind David DuPlessis, and he has already, no doubt, give you enough gospel message tonight that would satisfy the entire audience. But that I would just get the feel of the crowd, I want to give just a few words of reading out of St. Luke, the first chapter, if you would like to turn to this chapter, you who are keeping the chapters down. Then tomorrow night, the Lord willing, we want three healing services---tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday night---till we get the crowds all finished through the line. And we can't get them all through in one night, but we intend to do our very best to get them through anyhow---our best. So you pray for us.
And now, Sunday morning will be at your own church of your choice, and you visitors here find one of these fine churches here in Phoenix, the church that you go to, your own denomination. As many ministers that attend this meeting here would be glad to have you at their services for Sunday morning. How many ministers are here? Raise up your hands, all around everywhere. I want you to see how many ministers that's in the building. Look at there at the preachers, thirty or forty of them, maybe, sitting in the building tonight. How thankful we are for these fine men of God and women of God who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and this type of ministry.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

7 Let us begin reading now in the first chapter of St. Luke and beginning at the thirty-fifth verse.
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which is born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
And Mary answered and said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

8 Let's just once more pray, if you will. Lord, now we have sang songs tonight. I never got the opportunity to sing it with the people, only to hum a little "Only Believe" as I was coming to the pulpit. Prayers has been made, the Bible's been read. Lord, speak to us tonight through Thy Word to continue the message that we've already heard. We pray that then the Holy Spirit will come and get into the message tonight, and will bring Christ real to our hearts.
We hear in the paper where those Moslems laid before Mr. Billy Graham those thirty incurables, and challenged him. O Lord God, there's still a God that lives and answers by fire. We pray Thee, heavenly Father, to be with Billy Graham as he's ministering over there in the fields where only those who walk in those tracks...

9 Many times Thy servant has tried to say to the people, "It's all right here in America, but don't try that demon land there unless you know what you're talking about, for they're ready to challenge the Spirit of God."
Lord, Thou art still God and has proved every time that You were God. Give Your servants courage to believe You, Lord. Thou art God. If You're not the same God, then You wasn't God at all. But we know that Thou art the same yesterday, today, and forever, and nothing can ever change Thee. Thou art the eternal and everlasting God. Speak to us tonight, Lord Jesus, while we think on Thy Word. We ask it in Your name and for Your sake. Amen.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

10 I believe that the sun had already come up and was bathing across the Galilean skies, drawing up the fragrance of the roses, where the night had been quiet and sweetness comes on the air. And she was making her way down along the side of the street to the city well, where the people come to gather their supply of water. And as she made her way along, with a little crock under her arm, she was studying, thinking about the day before and the great mighty message that the rabbi had preached; and at the message that she and Joseph, her engaged husband, had spoke of on their front porch after the midday meal, as they sat there looking across the little hill to where finally the little house would be erected where they were to spend their life, as far as they knew, in this little building.
Joseph was a carpenter, and he loved his job, and he loved to do things just right. And being a believer in God, and know that there was Someone who watched over him, he wanted all of his work to be just exactly right. But, oh, this little house was a special one. The doors had to be just perfect, and the closets in it, because he was bringing the sweetest woman in all the world there to be his bride.

11 And as they, as a custom, would sit out there and look at the little house and plan just how the roses would be at this little spot, and the gate must be a little heart because they were so in love; and how they were planning on doing it, because Joseph, being the carpenter, why, he could take his time. And then, perhaps, just behind the house there was going to be the carpenter's shop where he would do all of his cabinet work, to make his doors, and the little odds and ends that was brought to him, and in that they would have their livelihood.
And this Sunday, as soon as they had come out of Sabbath, and sat on the front porch after the midday meal, it must have been Joseph that said, "That was a striking message this morning, Mary. I am so thrilled when I hear our rabbi speak of the greatness of Jehovah. And, oh, how he told us of that great mighty God that came down into Egypt and took our people out. How He opened up the Red Sea when it got in His way, and how He rained bread out of the heavens, blowed the quails in out of the fields, led them by a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day, and how the children of Israel camped under this great light as they walked in the light. Wherever it went, they went also, and brought them safely into the promised land."

Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

Exodus 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

12 And Mary might've said something like this: "Yes, darling, but I want to ask you something. What happened to that great God that He isn't just as great today as He was then? Did you notice the rabbi after that wonderful message? 'Then alas,' he said, 'Jehovah must have turned His back on us because that He doesn't perform miracles anymore.'"
But Joseph quickly picked it up, and said, "But, Mary, I believe that God is just as great and powerful as He ever was."
Upon that, Mary's mother, Anna, must have come to the door and said, "Are you young folks waiting for the Scriptures?" And handed into the hand of Mary, which passed it on to Joseph, the book of Isaiah. Joseph, opening up the scroll, begin to read. And when he come to Isaiah 9:6, "... unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Counsellor, Prince of Peace, mighty God, everlasting Father, and of his peace and his kingdom there shall be no end."

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

13 And it must have been that time that Mary's heart was strangely warmed. Isn't it strange how God does things? Scriptures made manifest. She said, "Joseph." And he looked at her, and perhaps he always thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever saw, but then there was a certain look in her face that charmed him more than ever, while her pretty eyes looked at him like that of a dove, soft, innocent. I think that's the way a woman should look---innocent, soft and sweet.
She said, "Joseph, what was the prophet speaking of when he said, 'Unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given?' Who is this son and this child that he was speaking of?

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

14 Joseph looked back to her. He must have said, "Why, my dear, the prophet was speaking of the coming Messiah, the hope of Israel. And you know, Mary, that all down through the ages since Moses, we've looked forward to that One coming, and when He comes He will deliver us out of the bondage of these Romans, out of the bondage of our sins. And Israel will know their God and He'll keep His Word. And Mary, my dear, if we don't see it in our generation, He'll surely be here in the next; but we'll look for Him in our generation."
All night she couldn't sleep over it. "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given." And the next morning she'd slept late, so she was late getting to the well. That's why the sun was up. And as she made her way down the street seemed like no one was around, and she was thinking on this scripture.
And it's usually when we're thinking [Gap in the audio] ... to us. I believe that that's the reason people doesn't have the victory and ... in their heart that they should have, is because their thoughts are on other things. "Let the meditations of my mind and my heart be acceptable unto Thee, O Lord." I believe if we'll think on Him, He'll draw nigh unto us.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

Luke 24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

Luke 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

Luke 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

Luke 24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

15 You remember the first Easter, when Cleopas and his unnamed friend in the Bible was on their road to Emmaus? They were going along the road discussing about Him, thinking of Him. Oh, their hearts were burdened! Every hope, seemed like, that they had was taken from them. And it was then that a stranger walked out beside a bush and walked with them. They didn't know who it was. He was just a man come walking out, walked along with them, and said, "Why are you so weary? Why are you so faint in your minds?"
And they said, "Are you just a stranger? Knowest thou not that Jesus of Nazareth, who we hoped to be the deliverer of Israel, has been crucified by Pilate, and this is the third day? Some women said they seen a vision of angels."
And then He started from the Scriptures and began to explain to them the Scriptures, how Christ must suffer and enter into His glory. And then when He got them in the room and closed the doors, and He did a miracle, or something just like He did before His crucifixion, and they knew it was Him. Thinking on Him.

Luke 24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

Luke 24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

Luke 24:20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

Luke 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

16 Oh, if we didn't have so many other things on our mind! You know, sometimes we'll come to church thinking about "Tomorrow I've got to do this, the next day I've got to do this." When we come to church we ought to lay aside every thought and everything of the world and enter into fellowship with Christ and worship, meditating, worshipping in our hearts, and giving songs and praises to Him, thinking of His goodness and what He means to us. Worshipping in the Spirit, singing spiritual songs, making melodies in our heart. Even the Bible says if there's any afflicted, let them sing psalms. Be happy, be in meditation, always expecting God at any moment to appear to you.
Are you doing it just now, before this healing service?

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

17 You people that's got prayer cards waiting for the line, are you thinking, "It's just a few more minutes and all my suffering will be over?" Or are you thinking, "Oh, I don't know, he might not call my card. It might be..." Oh, don't do that. Just remember, just keep it on your mind, it'll just be a few minutes now and you'll meet the requirements that God said do. "These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Keep Him on your mind.

18 And she was thinking of the Scriptures. That scripture was being confirmed to her: "a child is born a son is given." And about that time she seen something flash before the little virgin, and a light (no doubt in my mind, like the pillar of fire), and standing there was an angel, the mighty Gabriel. He's a messenger to the Jews. Remember, Gabriel announced the first coming of Christ, the angel Gabriel will announce the second coming of Christ. The Bible said so.
Now, there it frightened the little lady. And she looked at him, and he said, "Hail Mary, blessed art thou among the women. Thou art highly favored of God, for God is with thee." And he told what was going to happen, that she was going to bear a child, and they should call His name Jesus for He'd save the people from their sins.
Now, she had a right to know that that was the right kind of a messenger. First thing, he was an angel standing there. The next thing, he told her who she was, Mary. She knowed that was a sign of God down through the age. She looked at him, and she said, "How can these things be, seeing that I don't know a man?"
And he said, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee."

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

19 Before a miracle can take place, the Holy Ghost has to come. That's what's the matter in the world today. They're denying the power of the Holy Ghost. That's why people can't believe in divine healing. They're denying the very Holy Spirit that brings divine healing. "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the most High shall overshadow thee, and that holy thing which will be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. That's how He's coming. You don't need to know no man. God's going to do this, for with God nothing is impossible."
Oh, what that little lady had to believe! She had to believe something that was impossible. She had to believe something that had never happened.

1 Samuel 1:17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

Luke 1:7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

20 Hannah, when she was told by the priest, "The Lord give thee thy desire," why, she went home, in nine months brought the child. That was wonderful but ... and so was Elisabeth as he said, "Thy cousin Elisabeth, which was called barren, it was already six months to be mother," and told her that with God nothing was impossible.
And she said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word." What she had to believe, something that had never happened.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

21 Zacharias, the priest, the husband of her cousin, he doubted that same angel when he said, after the days of the ministration at the temple, he would go home and live with his wife, Elisabeth, and she'd bring a son. And he said, "I'm too old, it can't be done." Oh, he just doubted it---and he had Abraham and Sarah to look at, he had Hannah at the temple, and Eli, her husband, to think of. But that calloused priest doubted God's Word.
But as Brother Shakarian said the other day over in the island, when I saw my mother-in-law die five days before it happened, and my brother-in-law had a hemorrhage and spit blood out from his mouth, just squirted from his mouth... Brother Sonnmore said, "Let us go in and pray that this won't happen."
I said, "It won't do one bit of good. God has already said it, it's got to happen. God, when He says anything, it's impossible for it not to happen.
Therefore when God says in the Book, "All things are possible to them that believe," it's got to happen. No way to explain it away. You can believe God will perform every promise that He made.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Luke 1:18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

22 Then ... and she never waited, little Mary didn't. Now, she had to believe something that had never happened. But look at her little childish heart. I'm going to think her to be just a young woman about eighteen, twenty years old. She never taken the second thought. As soon as she seen and knowed that was the angel of the Lord, that knowed these things and told her exactly according to Scripture she'd been thinking on, and told her her name, she knowed that messenger come from God; and the scripture that she'd been thinking on was confirmed right there to her. "Mary, the Holy Ghost will come upon you, and the Almighty shall overshadow thee: and that holy thing that will be born will not be of man, but He'll be called the Son of God."
She threw her little hands up, and the tears running out of those beautiful eyes, said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word."

23 She didn't wait until she was positive of this. She didn't wait till she felt life, or some kind of a sensation, to prove that she was to be a mother. She just took His Word, and that was enough.
That's what God wants you to do tonight. Not wait till you feel better, not wait till you can move your hand better or walk a good step, not wait till the doctor says you're improving, but take God at His Word and begin to believe it. That's the only way to please Him: take His Word. That's the way miracles are performed---when God is took by His Word. The impossibles are made real when God is took at His Word. Not questioned, just get it from your mind.

24 "Behold the handmaid of the Lord."
Why, she was so happy about it she just couldn't stand still. And nothing had showed up yet, but she knew it was going to because God said so. If Christ said, "These signs shall follow them that believe. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover," take Him at His Word. Don't doubt anything. Just go right on believing---it'll be all right. God promised it, God will perform it. God watches over His Word to keep it and to answer prayer.

Jeremiah 1:12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

25 Then she started on her way. She heard good news of her cousin Elisabeth, an old woman around sixty-five, seventy years old, her husband the same age, around seventy or seventy-five years old. And she had conceived in her old age because she had believed God would give her a child.
It was an honor then to have a baby; it's a dishonor now. They'd rather buy a little dog, give it the love of a child. No wonder we got juvenile delinquency. We got dog-loving mothers. That's ... oh, it's a shame. But it was an honor then, and a dishonor for a woman not to have a baby.

26 But little Mary takes out up in ... from Nazareth up into the hills of Judea, up over that rough pass. I guess, Brother Arganbright, you traveled that path a few weeks ago. Up over that hill into Judea, to meet her cousin, to enjoy fellowship together, because God had overshadowed both of them. What a privilege it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. It's like the anointing oil that was on Aaron's beard that run all the way to the hems of his skirt, when people together can agree upon God still being God, God is just as great as He ever was, and can assemble themselves together and worship God in Spirit. Mary wanted a fellowship. There's no need of going down to the synagogue, because they didn't believe it. She went to somebody that had an experience like she had, and she went there to fellowship. So on her way she went, to somebody that believed God was still just as great as He ever was.

Psalm 133:1 A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Psalm 133:2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

27 That's why we're having this Christian Businessmen's Fellowship in the morning, where businessmen can worship together on one common ground, believing that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's why we got churches around over this city and around over the world that's preaching the unsearchable riches of Christ, because we have fellowship together. We sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, the Holy Ghost coming upon us and overshadowing us, empowering us with gifts and signs and wonders and miracles. Why, it's the closest thing to heaven there is on the earth.

Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

28 There she took out for this fellowship. The heart calls for it. Up over the hills I can see her going, her little cheeks a-blushing and them little eyes sparkling, as she thought, "I'll keep this a secret from Joseph. I just can't wait, I've got to go." And up in the hills she went, on up into Judea, up at the house of her cousin.
And Mary, before she got to the house... Elisabeth, her cousin, had hid herself, because she was very worried because little John in the womb of his mother was six months, and no life had showed yet. Now that's altogether unnatural. It isn't just exactly the regular routine. Life appears in three or four months and this was six months, and she was a little worried about it.

Luke 1:22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

Luke 1:39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

Luke 1:40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

29 I can see her sitting back in a room, and there she said, prayed something like this: "God, I've waited all these years, and I believed in my heart that something was about to happen. There sits my husband out there dumb, he can't speak, and keeps writing on a slate and saying, 'I saw an angel, I saw an angel. An angel spoke to me at the right hand of the altar. Something great is going to happen.' " And all of a sudden she seen that she was to be mother. But the baby grew but had no life, no muscles moving at all, six months, altogether subnormal. And she looks out the window and she saw Mary coming, her teeth shining like pearls and her eyes just a-glistening with joy. And she said, "I ought to know that child." And she had her robe wrapped around her, running as hard as she could.
Zacharias stood in the yard. He said, "Oh, hail, I know who you are, you're Anna's daughter. You're Anna's daughter."
"Yes, that's who I am."
And Elisabeth runs out. She'd been sitting in there making little booties for the baby. Somehow or another she believed way down in her heart that God wouldn't let her down, no matter...

30 Maybe you'll be sitting sick. Maybe you've tried to serve God, and you're sitting sick tonight, but way down in your heart something's getting ready. Oh, I wonder if the man here in the wheelchair, if he's ready, thinking down in his heart, "This is the night I'll never have to use this no more." Wonder if this lady sitting here, and the one behind, her is thinking the same thing, like others, another lady sitting back there. Are you remembering that all things work together for the good to them that love God? God's trying to do something for you.
And she laid the little booties down, and she ran out in the yard, and she grabbed Mary around the neck and begin to hug her and kiss her. You know people felt for one another then, different than they do now. You know, there's not much feeling amongst people no more, no fellowship.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

31 It hasn't been too long ago I was downtown with my wife, and there was a lady said, "Hello, Sister Branham." And I never heard her say a word.
I said, "Honey, that lady spoke to you."
She said, "I spoke to her."
"Well," I said, "I'm sure she didn't hear you, because I didn't, and I'm sitting closer than she was."
"Oh," she said, "I smiled at her."
"Oh," I said, "ridiculous, Honey. A little old silly grin don't take the place of 'Hello, there. How you doing?' " That'll never take the place. That's right. People's got so they try to even substitute something else for a good old handshake.

32 I was down in Florida some years ago, and we were having a great meeting in a tent out there at the Flagler dog track, or out that way on Flagler Street. And there'd been a little boy had been down there, a little preacher, David, had ... down there in a tent, and he'd asked me to come down and help him. He'd got in a little trouble, and I went down to see if I could help the little fellow. And the people were crowded so much in there that I could hardly get in and out without three or four people around to help push me in. And sick people...
That's where Brother Bosworth come into the ministry. He said, "That's what I prayed for since I was a boy." When he seen the Holy Spirit go out in the meeting and say, "You sitting out there [A man had been thrown on a horse a few years before that, his arm broke up]," said, "you was riding on a horse Sunday afternoon, racing. You run a fruit market down here. The horse throwed you and you've never moved your arm since."
And he said, "That's right."
Said, "Straighten out your arm. Jesus Christ makes you whole."
And there went his arm straight. Old Brother Bosworth run up there and said, "That's what I've looked for!" or he said, "I've watched the Scriptures for that." Certainly.
Then, at that meeting, they said, "Brother Branham, the duchess wants to see you."
I said, "The what?"
Said, "The duchess."
I said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
And he said, "Well, it's a great woman. She's a duchess." And said, "She's right back behind the tent here."
I said, "Well, why see her? What about all these sick people laying out here?"
And they said, "Oh, but she owns this whole thing through here."
I said, "But my Father owns all this whole thing across here." I said, "Why see her?" I said, "That's His children laying out there sick, and He sent me here to pray for them. If I can see anybody, let me see them."

33 So when I went out, they had a woman standing there, whether you said so or not. Great big woman, had enough diamonds on her hand to send the missionaries around the world fifty times. You never seen so much gold and stuff. And the woman had a glass in her hand had specs on the end of them, or a stick, she held out like this and looked down through. Now, you know that any common sense would tell you you're not going to see through a glass out like that, holding it out like that.
And she said, "Are you Dr. Branham?"
I said, "No, ma'am, I'm not."
She said, "Well, I was told that you were Dr. Branham, the divine healer."
I said, "No, ma'am. I'm Brother Branham, the servant of Christ."
And she said, "Well, I am chawmed [or delighted, or something like that]," with her hand up like this. I looked at her a little bit, and I thought that's the funniest... We don't shake hands like that in Kentucky. So I seen she wanted to shake hands with me, so I reached up and got ahold of her hand.
I said, "Well, get it down here so I'll know you when I see you again." What is it? It's somebody trying to act something that they're not. That's just exactly. It's a lot of put-on that has no meaning to it at all. She was no more than six foot of dirt like the rest of us. That's just exactly it, but trying to be something, you see.

34 Like old Congressman Upshaw that was healed in the meeting, after being in a wheelchair and crutches for sixty-six years. He always had a little slogan. He said, "You can't be nothing that you hain't." And that's really the truth. That's it. You can't be.
Oh, people now, you don't even know when your neighbor dies, unless you see it in the paper, anymore. They don't have no more fellowship like we used to have. We're going down the street ninety miles an hour, and turn the corner, and stop and talk for an hour before you go home. Oh, there's something insane about the whole thing. But people in them days loved one another. They had time and fellowship to talk to each other.

35 And Elisabeth saw her cousin, and she run out and threw her arms around her and began to hug her. She said, "Oh, Mary, why, the last time I seen you, you was a little freckled-faced girl, and here you are a beautiful woman. And I heard that you were going with that fine boy, Joseph."
She said, "Yes, that is true, Elisabeth."
"Well," she said, "I'm so glad to see you. Why, Honey, why don't you come sit down? Why, Joseph has gone to fetch some water so I can wash your feet. You must be tired, they're bleeding. Is there anything wrong? Are you in a hurry? You seem to be so happy, but yet look like you've been hastening."
"Oh," she says. "Elisabeth, I just can't wait to tell you. Oh," she said, "you know, I'm going to have a baby."
"Oh, you and Joseph already married?"
"No, we're not married yet."
"Well, Mary, I'm shocked."
"Oh, but Elisabeth, on the road to the well, day before yesterday morning, I was going along thinking about the scriptures that Joseph and I had been talking about the day before, and I seen a great big pillar of fire stand before me. Stepping out of it was Gabriel, the angel of God, who called me by my name, and told me that I'd found favor before God, that the Holy Ghost was going to overshadow me, and that the power of God would be upon me, and I'd have a child and He'd be called the Son of God." And said, "He told me that you were to be a mother also, old age like this." And said, "It's already six months."
"Oh," she said, "Mary, that is the truth. I'm to be a mother. But, Honey, I am so worried. I'm already six months to motherhood and the baby has never moved and hasn't had one bit of life yet, and I'm just so worried about it."
Oh, I can hear Mary say, "Don't worry, because everything will be all right. That angel knowed you and called your name too. 'Your cousin Elisabeth.' " Oh, everything will be all right. And he told me, he even give me my baby's name."
"Oh, he did?"
"Yes, he give me my baby's name. He said I should call his name Jesus."

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

Luke 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luke 1:44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

36 Just about the time she said, "Jesus" for the first time that that name was ever spoke by human lips, little John received the Holy Ghost and begin jumping and shouting in his mother's womb. Oh, my! Little John began to leap in the mother's womb for joy. If the name of Jesus Christ, the first time it was ever spoke through human lips, brought a dead baby that had never had no life, brought him to life, what ought it to do in this church tonight with a born-again bunch of people that's filled with the Holy Spirit; and the angel of the Lord here nightly showing Himself that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. That glorious name of the Lord Jesus. Oh, there is power, power, wonder-working power in the precious blood of the Lamb. How that great, wonderful, immaculate name, that indescribable name of the Lord Jesus...

37 One time I give it a challenge. I wanted to see what I was talking about. (When I was in France I went to Pigalle. I never take anybody's word for it; I want to see it myself.) They told me about spiritualism, and I took a couple of fellows and went up in Indiana where they had that big meeting of spiritualism. I thought it was a hoax that they worked. And I went in there, and they had a table standing up, and said, "No man can knock that table down," going on like that. And the people were going on, all kinds of demon powers.
And they looked over there, and I said, "The power of God can knock that table down." And I said... They wouldn't believe it. And they were trying to hold it down with hands. Four men with their legs wrapped around it, trying to pull it down. And this woman standing there doing all kinds of things, and making that table walk and do around. And they stopped when I said this. And another minister, Mr. DeArc, standing by me.
I said, "In the name of high heaven, fall." It didn't do it. I said, "In the name of the holy church, fall." It didn't do it. I called all kinds of names that I could think of. After awhile I said, "In the name of Jesus Christ, fall." And it almost broke the legs off, hitting the ground! "In my name they shall cast out devils."
There's power in that name.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Luke 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

38 It made this little baby come to life in the womb of its mother and leap for joy. And the Bible said that John was born, from his mother's womb, full of the Holy Ghost. Not only that, but while he was in the womb and the Holy Ghost upon him, his own mother received the Holy Ghost and prophesied, saying... And gave prophecy concerning him and concerning the Lord Jesus.
Don't you see, friends, that same Jesus Christ that was born of the virgin Mary, was born of virgin birth, His Holy Spirit is here tonight, and He has every angel under His control. He has every power under His control. "All power in heaven and in earth," He said, "is given into my hands. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, into all the world." All the power lays within Him, and He promised these promises. Just don't question Him; take Him at His Word. Do that while we bow our heads just a moment now for prayer.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

39 How many would like to be remembered, and say, "Brother Branham, let that power that made John in the womb of his mother come to life, may it awaken me out of my dull senses." God bless you, boys. God bless you there. God bless you, all over the building, the hands up. "Let that Holy Spirit waken me from this slumber that I'm sitting in. I want to be filled with the Holy Spirit in such a way that my human senses will not function unless it's in the will of God. I want to be led by the Spirit." The Spirit is the sixth sense. God gave man five senses. They wasn't to control you; they was to contact your earthly home. But the sixth sense, which is faith, it leads you, it controls you.

40 Our heavenly Father, oh, how good it is to talk of the Lord Jesus, to see how it blesses our soul, and to know tonight that there never was a man born under the heavens like that. There never was such a wonderful gift ever given to the world, when God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have eternal life. And all that God has done for the human race, and we sit and rehearse that over, and the experiences of other people in days gone by who has been in contact with heaven through the messengers of angels, and the Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, and God Himself.
Oh, Lord, as we fellowship around these things and know that it's not some kind of a story---just some kind of a mythical story or superstition among people---but He is alive tonight. He's here tonight just as real as He was in Galilee. He cannot fail. His name has been given above every name in heavens and earth. All the family is named Jesus.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Ephesians 3:15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

41 All the powers in heaven and earth is given into His hands.
And He said, "Go preach the gospel. These signs shall follow them that believe." Night after night has He showed us here that He was the same God who came down and created Himself a body and talked to Abraham, and done a sign of knowing that he had a wife, and her name was Sarah, and knowed that she laughed in the tent behind Him. That body was nothing but dirt, dust, and cosmic light, and petroleum. It went right back to the dust where it come from when He got finished with it. So will our bodies go right back to the dust again. There's nothing in us, Lord, but that that great Holy Spirit could look down to manifest Himself and to confirm His Word with us to prove that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

42 Seeing that come to pass, then, Lord, we're bringing the sick tonight to this platform to lay hands upon them and pronounce Your blessing.
If we should lay hands upon something that You've cursed, God, withhold Your blessing. But if everyone has repented of their sins and they're ready to receive Thee, I pray that You'll heal every person that's in divine presence tonight. Grant it, Lord. These that raised up their hands just a few moments ago, Lord, may while the meeting is going on tonight, they will receive the power of the Holy Spirit that He'll so deaden their earth-bound conscience until they'll think on Him, sing about Him, talk about Him, until He appears to them, Lord, and changes them. Grant it. We commit it all to Thee now, looking for Your great hand to perform these things that your Word has promised and we have asked. In the name of the Lord Jesus we pray. Amen.

43 Do you love Him? Oh, that wonderful Jesus, that Son of God that so come down and made Himself man that He could catch death, caught the stinger of death in His own flesh, and pulled it out, that the sting of death would never hurt us. We're free from it. Let's sing that good old song "I Love Him." All right, sonny boy, let's get going. Now, everybody sing as we worship Him. Message is over, the prayer line fixing to be called. Let's sing now.
I love Him, I love Him,
Because He first loved me,
And purchased my salvation
On Calvary's tree.
Let's bow our heads real sweetly now, and close our eyes and raise our hands, if we really want to worship Him. Sing it low now:
I love Him, I love Him,
Because He first loved me,
And purchased my salvation
On Calvary's tree.
All together now with the Lord's Prayer:
... Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us of our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

44 Jesus said, "When you pray that, if you have ought in your heart, forgive every man, from your heart, his trespasses. For if you do not from your heart forgive every trespass that man has done against you, neither does your heavenly Father forgive you yours." So to enter this line, be free from sin. "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another that you may be healed."
I'm going to ask our brother now, while I call the prayer line... I want to call them just one by one so that you won't make this a tear-up condition. And how many here that has prayer cards? Now raise up your hand [Gap in the audio].

Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Matthew 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Mark 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

Mark 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mark 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Mark 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Luke 8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

Luke 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

45 Just come across the sea, and He landed in another country, and a little woman come along without any prestige and He wanted to bring her... Many years she'd had a flooding and a blood issue, and no doctors could cure her. Perhaps she'd sold all she had to pay the physicians, and they'd tried hard but had failed. But she believed if she could touch His garment, she'd get well. And she went through the crowd and touched His garment. Now the Palestinian garment has an underneath garment and a robe that hangs loose, and she touched the border. That would probably be that far from Him, swinging loose. And she touched the border with her fingers, went back through the crowd and sat down (stood up, or whatever she did).
Jesus stopped and said, "Who touched me?" Just think of that now. Now remember, we're talking about Jesus. Everything in the healing lines, to my opinion, has to be scriptural, has to be on the Bible, has to be what He was, what He done, just what He done. Then He is the One we're looking to today. He is the One that promised to be here, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Luke 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

46 Is there any strangers in here that's never been in one of the meetings before? I guess one woman, two. Two people I see. All right.
So the woman touched Him, went back and sat down, and she sitting there, and Jesus said, "Who touched me?"
And Peter come up and just literally rebuked Him, the Bible said. Why, I'd imagine the apostle said something like this: "What do you mean by saying a thing like that? Why, here's five hundred people and every one of them is touching you."
Jesus said, "But I got weak." Virtue went from Him. And He looked around in the audience, and He found the woman, and He told her her blood issue had stopped because her faith had made her well. Is that right?
Now, how many of you ministers and Bible readers knows that the Bible, the New Testament, said, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."? How many knows that the Bible says that He is right now on the right hand of God and the majesty on high, His literal body sitting there, a high priest making intercession upon our confession, and He can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities? That's what the Bible says.

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mark 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Mark 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

Mark 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Luke 8:46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

Luke 8:47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

47 Now His body is up there. His Spirit is down here. His Spirit, God's Spirit, worked through that body, His virgin-born Son, in the fullness of God. He works through you and I as portions of God. That's why the Holy Spirit, when it come on the day of Pentecost, it broke all up, that pillar of fire, and divided itself in licks of tongues, and sat upon each one.
We have to have one another. The biggest thing the devil ever got on us was when he separated us from the love of God, from one another. And we love one another, that's brotherly love. When we can get to one another, if you've got part of the Holy Ghost, and I've got part of it, and the next man has got part of it, put us together, there's three parts. I'm three times as strong as I was, with you two brethren, see. That's the way we stand. I'm a real Kentuckian---together we stand and divided we'll fall. That's right. We must stand that way together.

48 Now, if Jesus Christ is the same high priest that that woman touched by the feeling of her infirmities, then He's the same high priest, He'll act the same. He'll do the same, if you can touch Him. Now, today there's only ... you can't touch Him with your finger; you've got to touch Him with your faith. Is that right? Brethren, is that right? Your faith is what touches Him. You can't touch Him with your finger because He's sitting on the throne of God. How many believes that Jesus overcome and sat down on God's throne? and promised that if we overcome we will sit with Him on His throne, as He's overcome and sat down on God's throne? Exactly what He said. All right.
Then if that is so, then if you tonight are out there (here's all the prayer cards standing), and you're out there without prayer cards, and you will believe with all your heart that your faith can touch Him, and you believe it, then God will answer and act just the same as the high priest did at the beginning. You believe that?
Have you got all the prayer line, all fifty of the prayer cards? Is ... that's B1 to 50, you said. Okay.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

49 Now, tonight, the reason I called the whole bunch, this is not a line of discernment. This is a line of praying for the sick, see. The discernment comes each night in the meetings. But He's here just the same. Do you believe that? Sure He is. If there's not one thing done, He's still here to heal the sick, if you'll believe it.
How many out there now that is sick yet? Let's see your hands. How many out there that raised your hands believe that when Jesus was here on earth, that the way He made Hisself known being the Messiah, He could tell the people what was their trouble, and so forth? How many knows that, knows that that's a promise of the Bible? Well then, you know that I could not be Him, because He's sitting on the right hand of God. But He promised the works that He did would we do also.

50 He promised in the last days that the church would grow so close... When the days of Luther (justification), days of Wesley (sanctification), days of the Pentecost (the restoration of the gifts), right into the headstone, and through that would bring forth the whole body, the resurrection of every believer. But as the Spirit of God grows closer... Just like the shadow of my hand. The shadow gets darker, and darker, and darker, until the shadow and the hand becomes the same thing. The church come from justification, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Ghost, now going into the very headstone, and the presence of the angel of God. Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, so present, doing exactly the same works that He did on earth, which is bringing forth the church and Christ to unite together. Just exactly what He promised. Now, don't let your conscience be dull now. Wake up!

51 Now, heavenly Father, I promised the people just to bring them through this prayer line and pray for them, but I pray Thee, Father, that You will grant at least one or two people somewhere in here that have witnessed ... because there's some here that have never known this. Only two hands that went up that they'd never been in the meetings before, but, Lord, that might be the very two people that You're calling tonight. So to be sure that at the day of judgment I want nothing that I have left undone, I pray Thee, Father, for a few moments, that if You'll send Your Holy Spirit out among those people and charge their bodies, as they raised their hands awhile ago, that You will perform the same works here that You did like the woman at the well when You talked to her.
A man and a woman, and You told her where her secret was, what her trouble was. Why, she said, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. We know that when the Messiah cometh, He'll tell us these things."
And He said, "I am he that speaks to you."
She ran into the city, and told the men, "Come see a man that's told me the things I've done. Isn't this the Messiah?" God, grant it again tonight. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

John 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

John 4:27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

John 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

John 4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

52 Each night I've been turning my back to the audience that you might know, and God a-vindicate that... How many knows that Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man." He said it. Now what happened at Sodom? Now He said, "As it was in the days of Noah, eight souls were saved by water." Well, you see where the minority is going to be before the cap's put on, the stone comes back. Now, that chief cornerstone goes into the building and fits it together. Now, He said what that would be. He said what they were doing in the days of Noah---eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, see.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Luke 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

1 Peter 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

53 But when He come to Sodom, He left that for the discernment of the church. Now see, there was the believer (lukewarm church member), and a unbeliever, and Abraham was out of Sodom, which means the elected and called out, the church.
And the two angels went down into Sodom. They done a few things such as smiting blind, putting a curse on the people, to the church member. Had a meeting, called for mercy for them to run out, but they didn't do it. Just like the message goes forth today.

Genesis 19:1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;

54 But there was one angel who stayed with the church elect, and He said to Abraham... Now, he was a stranger. He said, "Abraham, where is your wife, Sarah [your wife, Sarah]?" A stranger, see.
Said, "In the tent behind you."
Said, "I'm not going to keep this from you [I, personal pronoun]. I'm not going to keep this from you, but according to the time of life Sarah is going to be a young woman again [you've heard me preach on it], and she's going to go back and have this baby." And Sarah, in the tent behind the man, never seen him, in the tent, laughed within herself. And the angel, with his back turned, said, "Why did Sarah laugh?"
Abraham called him Elohim. Not the man sitting there eating steak, and drinking milk, eating cornbread; but it was the Spirit that was in him. Now, what was it a sign of? That the Spirit of God would dwell in the flesh of people again and show the same sign before the end time. As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of man. Now, Sodom was the one that burned. Fire fell out of the heavens and burned them, and that's what's going to happen again. It ain't going to be water; it's going to be fire. So the angel of mercy comes with the same message to warn the people, "Stay away from Sodom!"

Genesis 18:9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

Genesis 18:10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Genesis 18:11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.

Genesis 18:12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

Genesis 18:13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

Luke 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

55 Now you pray and see if you can touch His garment, and may He add His blessing. Just a moment, Billy. I want these people out here in the audience first. Then when I start that line, just let them know that the Holy Spirit is here. Them people's got prayer cards.

56 [Gap in the audio.]
"... in the Scriptures. You can't deny but what it's in the Scriptures. And I need tonight. Let him speak to me, he don't know me. Let him tell me what I'm suffering with or something about me. I'll believe, Lord. I'll tell everybody there is that I would contact that Jesus Christ is soon coming, the Son of God, and He's the great healer."

57 Here it is. There's a woman sitting right here, looking down, praying. She raised her head, looked at me. She's suffering with headaches. You believe the Lord Jesus will make you well, lady? Sitting there, second woman in from the line, in the back of the line there. You believe that He'll make you well? Do you believe those headaches will stop? If you do, raise up your hand. All right. They'll leave you now.
You'll believe with all your heart? Here, this man sitting right here with his head down, praying, suffering with oppression. Do you believe that God will heal you and take that oppression away from you? If you do, raise up your hand. All right. You had more faith than you thought you had, haven't you? Now, the devil's been lying to you. Now, you know that, but he's left you now. Go on and be happy and sing and rejoice. Have faith in God. "If thou canst believe, all things are possible." Do you believe that? The Bible said so.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

58 This man here is sitting here believing, too. But it isn't him, there's somebody else that's believing. It isn't a man, it's a colored woman. She's suffering with heart trouble. She has oppression also. God will let me know who it is. Her name is Mrs. Hagwood. Where're you at, Mrs. Hagwood? Your faith has healed you. Go home and be well. Jesus Christ heals you. Does He remain the same yesterday, today, and forever? Now, I do not know those people. I've never seen them in my life. They're just people sitting there. Now, you believe, all of you, with all your heart. Have faith in God.

59 We're strangers to one another, sir. We're two men that's met, just like one time there was a man by the name of Simon came to our Lord. And now, being that you're first here in this line, if Jesus Christ will tell me what your trouble is, will you believe me to be His servant? You will. You know we're strangers, aren't we? So the people will know, let's raise up our hands so that they'll know that we're strangers. I've never seen the man. Know nothing about him. Now, he had a prayer card, I suppose. He's in the line, he had a prayer card. Rest of them without prayer cards, see, that you might know the prayer card has nothing to do with it. Now, be real reverent, now, if you can---real quiet. Don't move around, see. Each one of you is a spirit, you know that. All right. Now, you can put your hand down and look here.
If Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever then He'll do the same. Would it help you if I was able by the Holy Spirit to tell you what your trouble is? Would that help you? Not knowing you, I'd have to have some way of knowing it. Do you believe it would be Christ just by a gift? It wouldn't heal you, but it would help you have faith to be healed because your healing is already done. No matter what I'd say, it still wouldn't heal you, but it would raise your faith, because you know we don't know one another.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

60 Would it help the rest of you all out there to believe? The man suffers with a blood condition---diabetes. That's right. Now, you believe? Would it help you if God would tell me who you are? You know I don't know who you are. Would it help you? Forrest Clair. Would it help to tell you where you're from? Gilbert, Arizona. Return home now and be made well. Did that help you? God bless you. Go believing.

61 Do you believe God? Now, let's pray. Now remember, all you people in the prayer line out there, pray now. Now don't get up out of your seats, please---be seated. Just keep real quiet, pray. You don't know what God might do here tonight. Now, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is tremendous here right now. So just ... I'm looking for something really to take place now. And now, look here, all you people in the prayer line, this whole church is pledged they're going to be having faith and praying for you. Now, just come now, as I pray.
Now come, sister. Our heavenly Father, with this church I pray the prayer of faith over my sister, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. Now go believing, having faith. All right. Come. All right. Do you believe now with all your heart? Do you believe that God will cure the heart, and the baby too? All right, then you can go and be made well. Believe with all that's in you.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

62 All right bring her along now. How do you do, sister? Do you believe Jesus Christ will make you well? Our heavenly Father, I pray for our sister, along with this church, that You'll heal her and make her well through Jesus' name. Amen. What does the Scripture say? "These signs shall follow them that believe." You know what it's about. You believe He healed you now? Heart won't bother you no more, and that thing will go off your face, and all those troubles will be all right now? Go on your road rejoicing, saying, "Thank You, Lord Jesus," and be made well.
Now, you're an awful young woman to be nervous the way you are. But you believed you was healed right there. You know. All right, just go on your road saying, "Thank You, Lord Jesus," and believe with all your heart.

63 Do you believe with all your heart, sister? Our heavenly Father, I lay hands upon her. My hands represents this whole church. May she be healed in Jesus' name. Amen. Have faith now.
If I don't say one word to you, yet you believe you're going to be healed? See, that discernment would kill me just in a few minutes. I can't go through all of it, you know that. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal the woman and make her heart to be well, in Jesus' name. Amen. The Lord bless you. You believe, sister, He'll make you well? Our heavenly Father, I pray for our sister that You'll heal her and make her well, in Jesus' name. Amen. Now go rejoicing, saying, "Thank You, Lord." And you know you must believe, sister, or die. In the name of Jesus, I condemn this devil that's killing my sister. May it leave her in Jesus' name. God bless you, sister.
Come, brother. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray that You'll heal our brother and make him well. Amen. Now have faith. Don't doubt, believe with all your heart.

64 Now, you know that I know what's wrong with you, don't you? You know that, but if I don't even say nothing (I want to encourage them, see), but your arthritis will be all right. O heavenly Father, I pray that You'll bless her and heal her and make her well, through Jesus' name. Amen. Go believing. You'll never be crippled up.
Our precious Lord, the Bible said (whose writer is present), said that these signs shall follow them that believe, if they lay hands on the sick they shall recover. These people are believers, I'm a believer, this church is believing. We're laying hands upon them in Jesus' name for their healing. Amen. Go believing, sister.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

65 If you can believe...
You see, I say this one thing with all my heart, I wish I would've never introduced them visions to the people, just kept it in my own heart, see. If you ever see it one time, every person thinks that they have to do that or they're not healed. See, He's still here. He knows all about them. Don't you believe that? Certainly He does. Just... Do you believe that, sister? Sure, you believe it. All right. Being that you believe it, I'm going to tell you that if you'll believe God with all your heart... You know you're shadowed to death. That's right. [Sister asks, "What's the matter with me?"] Cancer on the liver. Yes, cancer on the liver, that's exactly right. Mrs. Randall, you go home and believe with all your heart and you'll be well. Do you believe that with all your heart? All right. Go home...

66 Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll bless this man and heal him, and make him well for Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen. Bless you. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll bless our sister and make her well in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Father God, I pray that You'll bless our sister and heal her in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Now, look, sister, you're going to be well. When you go away from here...

67 When you people come up here, when you're prayed for, you've met the requirements. Was you here last night when I said when the requirements was met, hang on. God's there to answer it, just keep believing. Come, sister. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray that You'll heal her. Amen. These signs shall follow them that...
Oh, sister, do you want to dodge that operation? You do? Do you believe that God will take that tumor out of you? Go, and believe with all your heart. Father God, I pray that You'll heal her and make her well, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. Have faith. Believe with all your heart.

68 Now, you've coughed and went on with that asthmatic condition for years and years. Do you believe He's going to make you well now? Does that help you? All right. Go in Jesus' name. Heavenly Father, I pray that You'll help her and make her well. In Jesus' name, grant it. [A sister makes a request.] Sure will. God grant her request in Jesus' name. God bless our sister standing here. I pray that You'll heal her in Jesus' name. God bless this one who's bringing her, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. The Lord bless this, my brother, and as this church is praying for him, may the power of God be upon him and heal him, in Jesus' name. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal our sister and make her well, in Jesus' name.

69 Have you accepted your healing, believe that you'll never have it no more, and you'll be all right? You do? Then you can go back up to your home, and believe you'll get well in the name of Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, I pray that You'll bless this man and heal him, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen. Come, sister. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal her, and make her well, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Now, believe it. Just raise up your hands, sister, say, "Thank You, Lord God."
Are you all praying? Everybody believing with all your heart?

70 What about you in the wheelchair? You believing? What about you over here? You believing? You're believing, are you, sir? You know, we talked about back there your trouble. Here, here's a man. Come here. See this man? I don't know him. He's a stranger. Is that right, sir? We're strangers. If that's right, let's raise up our hands so the people will see that we're strangers. Do you believe God can tell me who you are, what you are, what you've done, or something wrong with you? Do you believe that? Would it help you? Would it help you, sir, to believe that you could go back and get well and come out of the hospital? You're feeling better. Now, here's what made you feel better. The very God of heaven that can use me to say the things to this man that the Bible promised would be said. Here we are with both of our hands before each other, before God, we never met before in life, we know of, anywhere.
Now, look at me just a minute. All right. You have some kind of a itching all over you, it's bothering you. You've had an operation. That was cancer. It was on your face, come back again. You got your wife with you. Do you believe God can tell me what's wrong with your wife sitting out there? Would you believe it? It's constipation. That's exactly right. Do you believe God knows who you are? If He'll tell me who you are, will you believe Him? David Wood. Go home and be made well, in the name of Jesus Christ.

71 [Unclear words.] Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll help and heal her, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal her in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless them and make her well, in the name of Jesus Christ. Don't worry, don't worry, it'll be all right. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll bless this young man, and heal him and make him well in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

72 Come, my sister. Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal her and make her well, through Jesus' name. Amen.
Come, my brother. In the name of Jesus Christ may the great Holy Spirit heal him. Amen. Come, my brother. In the name of Jesus Christ may the Holy Spirit of God heal him and make him well. Do you believe you received it? Do you believe Him? "If thou canst believe, all things are possible." Is that right? You believe it, young fellow? That tummy ain't going to bother you no more now, you can go home. It'll be all right.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

73 All right, sister. We don't know one another. You're not from Phoenix. No. You're from away from here. You're from another state, and your state to the west of you faces a large stream of water. It's Lake Michigan. And you go and believe now with all your heart. And that roaring in your head, that tummy trouble and things, you believe that God will make it well? You believe it'll be all right? You got a loved one you're praying for. It's a daughter. She's in a mental institution. That's right. Now, see, there's no secrets before God. Go believing, and be made well.

74 Our heavenly Father, I pray for the woman that You'll heal her in Jesus' name.
Come, my brother. In the name of Jesus Christ, may my brother be healed for God's glory. Come, sister dear. In the name of Jesus Christ, may my sister be healed. Amen. Look at the people praying for you, sister. In the name of Jesus Christ, may you be healed. Come, sister. In the name of Jesus Christ, may you be healed. Come, my brother. In the name of Jesus Christ, may you be healed.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

75 The Bible said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Our heavenly Father, I pray that You'll heal our brother in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Come, sister dear. In the name of Jesus Christ may this, my sister, be made well for the glory of God. Amen. Come, sister, believing with all your heart. Heavenly Father, I pray that your merciful care will be with this woman as I lay hands upon her. May the devil that's bound her all this time leave her, in the name of Jesus Christ. Go believing.

76 Oh, mercy, a blind man. Bow your heads just a moment. Do you believe the Lord Jesus will help you, He gives you your sight? You believe that God can tell me what your trouble is? Blindness, weakness, and so forth. Is that right? Now, let's bow our heads and ask Him to help you. Our heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, give this man back his sight. May the weakness leave his body. May he be strong. May his sight come to him. We don't ask for miracles, Lord. You said a weak and adulterous generation seeks after such. But, Lord, we know that You performed miracles, and I pray that You'll give sight to his eyes, through Jesus' name. Amen. Now look this way. If you could see me now... Better than you did? He can see. He has his sight. Put your hands on my nose and show people that you can see. All right. Feel stronger, don't you? All right. Go off the platform. You're going to be well, made well.

Matthew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

77 Do you believe with all your heart?
What about some of the rest of you out there? Do you believe? You sitting there in that wheelchair, do you believe God? You've been looking at me here for a long time. You been thinking in your heart, "That man's right." Is that what you've been thinking? Raise your hand if that's true. It is. You believe right now. I know what's wrong with you. You do that. If I tell you, will you rise up and go on home and forget about it? Them allergies and things will leave you then. Rise up and go on home. Believe it with all your heart. Stand up and believe God. Take your wagon and take it home with you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Do you believe, the rest of you? There he goes from the wheelchair. God bless you. All over, go home and be well. How many more of you want to believe? Stand up on your feet. Raise up and believe it. I don't care if you [unclear word] or whoever you are, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, raise up your hands and give God praise. God bless you each one. The Holy Spirit makes you well, if you believe it. God be with you.

Mary's belief

1 Thank you, brother. It was certainly ... I have to say "amen" to that. The Lord blessed us this morning in a most unusual way. I had something on my mind I was going to speak about, and just changed it right over. And that's the kind of meetings I like---the sweetness of the Holy Spirit just moving in, flowing over the building.
And then the Holy Spirit last night ... I guess it must have been a prophecy. I said the ministers behind me, that their time would come. They was sacrificing. And this morning, why, before I could even get started hardly, the goodness of the Holy Spirit went right out among those ministers, pronouncing them healed, right out around, telling them their conditions and diseases and what more. Oh, He's good, isn't He? He certainly is. He's a wonderful Father. We're so grateful for Him.

2 Now, tomorrow afternoon, the Lord willing, we're going to change the service from tomorrow night until tomorrow afternoon. And I think that's nice. It gives everybody a chance to keep their churches going. I always think it's a Christian's duty to stand at his post of duty. And that way, when we're having a rally like this, and the brethren who are willing to close their churches and send their people over... I tell all you visitors here now, that's here out of the city and away from these churches, go to church tomorrow. Just pick your choice. There's a fine bunch of brothers here and some fine churches that believes in this same gospel we're preaching. They're standing here. And they'll be glad to have you at their Sunday schools tomorrow morning and their churches tomorrow night. And now, be sure to attend some church, the church that you choose.
I guess the brethren has told you where ... they made some kind of arrangements to say where they're at and what about it. They usually do that. And you're invited to all of them. And so now the church ... wherever you go to church at, the one you represent, whatever you want to do, well, that'll just be fine. Now, I see them getting in the movies or something. So there's a great spirit amongst the people, a great revival seems to be moving this way.
I trust that it'll never lose that beautiful spirit that was in the meeting this morning. That's really something when you see God's goodness and his mercy to come and bless us, and do the things that He did this morning.

3 Now, if the Lord being willing, tomorrow afternoon I want to make it like a good Christian rally, and just let everybody come out. We're just going to preach an evangelistic sermon tomorrow afternoon, if the Lord willing. And Brother Leo, our book man, said, "Brother Branham, you ought to preach one time down here to these people like that old-time sassafras preaching."
The Lord being good to us, we want you to turn in your Bibles if you wish, or just put the text down. I just got a verse to read in Luke, the first chapter, thirty-seventh verse:
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

4 Let us bow our heads just a moment. Our heavenly Father, we come in the name of the Lord Jesus to ask mercy and forgiveness of our short-comings. We would pray tonight, Lord, that You would continue to visit us in these great visitations of thy Holy Spirit, that You might show Yourself alive until You appear again in physical form at the second coming. We pray, heavenly Father, that if there would be any among us who has never yet accepted You as their own dear loving Saviour that tonight will be that time that when they will make that all-sufficient one, "Yes, Lord, I believe." Those who have started that way and has not yet come on to the baptism of the Spirit, we pray that they also will yield tonight to the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Last evening we were so happy, Lord, to see You go out among the people, those who raised their hands that they did not have prayer cards; see your great Holy Spirit go out and heal the sick and afflicted, and call them, doing just like You did when it dwelt in the body of our Lord Jesus Christ, showing that You're still in your church; people getting up from stretchers and walking away; and those who were dying, at the last hope, seen the light of God and accepted it, walked away healed. The great meeting this morning in the fellowship with the Holy Spirit, as we sat together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, O God, how we love that.

5 And we pray that You'll give us thy heavenly blessings tonight. Do not look upon our unworthiness, Lord, because we are unworthy, and there's nothing that we could do to merit anything. So we humbly confess that we are wrong, and we are unrighteous and Thou alone are righteous. And we come in the name of the Lord Jesus as He's bid us to, promising that we would get what we ask for. God, I'm going to ask a great thing of You, and I pray that the Holy Spirit will search every heart here tonight. If they need healing, heal them, Lord. Whatever they have need of, grant it, Lord. And don't forget me back here.
Don't forget these lovely bunch of ministers, Lord. Bless their churches tomorrow. May they be just packed out and the Spirit of God moving through them. May there be an old-fashioned revival break in this country here and just cross the nation. Bless all the peoples everywhere, Father. Now, as I've read these few words, I pray that You'll bless them to our hearts. We ask in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

6 The morning sun was just coming up over the hill as she was making her way along the little familiar street, coming down off the hill where she lived. And as she walked along with the water pot under her arm she was perhaps thinking, meditating, as young women usually, at about that age, can walk along thinking. And she was on her road to the city well to get the daily supply of water. We're told that her mother was dead, so she just kind of kept home there by herself and her aged father. And she was thinking of the day before.

7 It must have been on the first day of the week, after they had had the Sabbath service, and the sun getting pretty well up and climbing into the Palestinian blue skies. And the sweetness of the flowers as the sun comes up, that atmosphere, that aroma of the flowers and honeysuckles, as the heat drives it down just a few hours before it drives it out again---I love that time of morning. I think it's fresh. I like to get out into the gardens.
I think a minister ought to come to the platform not loaded down with a lot of care, but out of the freshness of the presence of the Lord. Get out early of a morning after all the demons have gone to bed, the night rallying is about over. Then it settles down and gets quiet, and smell that aroma, the sweetness. And I believe if a minister would just stay before God until he came into the pulpit, he'd come as a sweet smelling savor, anointed with the Holy Spirit to bring the message of God to the hungry-hearted people who are waiting.

8 As she made her way down along the path, I believe---or I might say this as a little drama---that she was thinking about what happened the day before. After they had come from church, why, it was customary that her engaged husband, Joseph, was to come home with her that day for dinner. And as dinner was made ready, why... They'd had their dinner and as usual they sat out on the porch, looking across the little valley over on the other side of the hill.
Joseph was a carpenter. And knowing that he was fixing to marry this beautiful young Jewish maiden, being a carpenter, he was building their future home over on the other hill. So, you know, I'd imagine it had to have that little special touch to it, because he was going to bring his pretty young bride into this home. The doors had to fit just right. And he was taking his time about doing it because he didn't want a hurry-up job on this one. It must be ... the windows must fit just right, and the doors just right. I'd imagine when he went in the gate it might have been a big heart shape, so when he went in ... to make the gate in the shape of a heart. Roses all around the house.

9 And they'd planned this for some time, since their engagement. And they would go out there on, say, a Sunday afternoon, and sit down on the porch, and look just across where their future home would be. And as a custom they'd speak about the Lord, because they were both great believers in God. And this Sunday was a special one. As they hurried dinner and got the dishes washed and... Joseph was already sitting on the porch when Mary arrived, and it must have been a conversation something like this as...
They usually talked about the way the house was shaped, and how it would look, and the rabbis would come home with them for dinner. But instead they fell on the subject of the morning's message that they'd heard from the rabbi, the notable, honorable one. And perhaps it was Mary that said, "Joseph, wasn't that a striking message this morning that the rabbi preached, our beloved pastor?"

10 "Oh," Joseph must have said, "that was an outstanding message. I loved it so much when he spoke of that great Jehovah God who led our people out of Egypt. Did it not thrill you when he read the scrolls of Exodus when they were brought out, and how that Jehovah led them by a pillar of fire? And they just had no compass to go ... but they went by the leading of the Spirit. Oh, Mary, wouldn't it be wonderful that if we could live all of our lives watching that pillar of fire and be led like they were?
"And how that when they needed food He rained the manna out of heaven---they had bread. And then when they needed flesh, He blowed in quails from the coast, filled the ground. And when they needed water, He had a smitten rock. When they were sick, He had a brass serpent for an atonement for their sickness, and, oh, how great it was.
"But," he said, "Sweetheart, I believe he spoiled the whole thing when he said, 'But alas, Jehovah doesn't do that anymore.' Somehow or another I have always believed that that Jehovah always remains the same. He just can't fail. And I believe that the reason that we have ... living in the days that we are, is because that our people has lost faith in Jehovah.

Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Exodus 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.

Exodus 16:13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.

Exodus 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

Exodus 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

Exodus 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

Psalm 105:40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

11 "I believe that He is immortal, and He doesn't get old and fade away. He's just simply the same Jehovah, and He expects us not... I don't think that I would disregard or disrespect the honorable rabbi, but when he said this morning in his message that Jehovah performed no more miracles, that the only thing that He wanted us to do was to come to church, and pay our tithes, and live a good life as we could and He'd take us up home in glory, I can't hardly believe that, Mary. I believe that Jehovah wants us to walk with Him like they did in that day."
And then it must have been that Mary said, "Oh, dear, do you know, we should read the Scriptures first."
Well, if you've ever been in a Palestinian home and seen some of the old ancient landmarks... The books of the Bible was kept in like a... It's called a scroll, rolled up on like a stick. And they kept them in a container like a waste basket. And just stick them down in this container. And, like the scroll of Isaiah, the scroll of Jeremiah, and all those prophets were in there, so it didn't make any difference which one they read, because they knowed it was all ordained of God because it was their prophet.

12 So Joseph said, "Well, my dear, would you go in and get one of the scrolls." She just by chance reached in to get the scroll and brought it out.
She said, "Well, dear, today it seems like we read from the book of Isaiah." So he pulled open the scroll, and Joseph began to read, and his mind ... his eyes fell upon this portion: "A virgin shall conceive, and shall bring forth a son ... They shall call his name Counsellor, mighty God, Prince of Peace, everlasting Father."
And when he got down to the end, the little virgin lady sitting by the side said, "Just a moment, Joseph, dear. What does the prophet mean by a virgin conceiving?"
Well, Joseph might have said this: "Dear, that's just a little too deep for me. I do not understand it, but I believe it. It's just what the Bible said. I don't know how it will ever happen, but we know this, dear---we know that Isaiah was Jehovah's prophet. Therefore, being anointed with the Holy Spirit of God upon him, he could not prophesy wrong, because he was born a prophet and we know that his words are true. And when he said, 'A virgin shall conceive,' that was not Isaiah. That was our Jehovah, and Jehovah is able to do anything that He says that He'll do."

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

13 And as they spoke about it---and on down, how his name would be called Counsellor, Prince of Peace, mighty God, everlasting Father, and the government shall be upon his shoulders and there would be no end to his kingdom, and so forth---she said, "It must be the same one that the prophet Moses promised to us: 'The Lord your God shall raise up a prophet liken unto me.' Therefore it must be the Messiah."
Joseph said, "I believe the scribes interpret it that way, that this would be the Messiah that was to come." And as the evening passed on, the night service drew near, why, they went on back to church again.

Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

14 And it was the next morning as she was going along for the water, she could hear the hammer across the way, where the saw ... where Joseph was building on their house. And as she got up and had her breakfast, and stuck the little pitcher under her arm and started down to the city public well... (Now, if we had time I'd like to dwell on that well for a while, but we don't have the time.) So as she was going along with her head down, thinking, she couldn't get it off her mind... And she said, "That remark that Joseph made to me when I stopped him on that scripture of Isaiah 9:6, and how that... He said to me, 'Dear, you know I think you ... I always thought you was the most beautiful woman I ever seen, but somehow in the last few minutes you've been more beautiful than ever. Your big brown eyes sparkle, and just when we mentioned this scripture. Did it thrill you? Or what taken place?'"
Well, she wondered, "What was that when he said, '...a child is born, a son is given.'? Wonder what made me feel the way I did?" And just then, as the little maiden was walking, she noticed something flicker. And she looked around. And "It must have been the sun," she said, "that shined against a rock up on the desert hill there somewhere." And as she went on about her way, thinking about what was taking place, and what they had been talking about, she turned a corner that goes up to the city well, where the ladies meet out there early of a morning and let their buckets down.
Or their crocks---more like a crock or a jug. They got a long neck, two handles. They had a hook they hooked under it, and a windle. They let the jug down. It being made out of clay, why, it sank. They'd windle the water back up, then set it up on top their heads, and walk right on back home; and maybe holding five or six gallons of water, enough for the day---unless they were washing, and then usually they went to the places to wash.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

15 Now as she turned the corner she seen that light flicker again. And as she looked---when she had to pass through a little narrow place where just one person could pass---there stood Gabriel, the archangel. It wasn't the sun, the s-u-n, she seen reflecting. He was following her, and he met her, to where he got her in a place where she'd have to look to him. And she looked, and he was all of a glow of light around him. Frightened the little virgin, and no doubt she grabbed her water pot, and those big eyes stared out and looked at the archangel.
He said, "Hail, Mary [or stop], you're highly favored before God." Oh, I like that. That little woman, in the meanest city there was in the world at that time known---the meanest city, anyhow, in Palestine. And in there she had lived such a life until God chose her for a certain work that He was going to do. There she looked into his face, and it startled her.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

16 You know, it's usually as we are thinking on those things... The Bible said, "If there be any praise, if there be any virtue, think on these things." I think the reason we don't see no more of it than we do, we got our minds on too many other things. I think the angels would still appear to us if we only kept our minds upon them; but we're thinking about something else---where we're going, a certain program we've got to look at, or certain shopping we got to do. But our Scriptures tells us, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you."
And there then when we see that, that he said, "Thou art highly favored before God."

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

17 And we notice again... I don't want to leave this scripture, but it was Cleopas and his friend on the road to Emmaus, as they were going along there, broken-hearted, speaking about Jesus being crucified and dead, and the stories that they had heard about Him being raised from the dead, and they didn't believe it... On the road going over---going back to, maybe, go to work on Monday morning, on the road back---it was while they were thinking of Him that He appeared to them. Stepped out of the bushes and began to talk to them just like an ordinary man.
He said, "Oh, why are you so weary? What's wrong with you?"
They said, "Are you just a stranger here?"
Do you believe...? Now this is kind of sticky, but people who had walked with Him, and talked with Him, and walked all day with Him after his resurrection---the same Jesus---and didn't know Him. He will reveal Himself to whosoever He will reveal. Oh, I pray tonight that He'll take the shades from every one of our eyes and will come into this building and reveal Himself in the power of his resurrection, that every person might see Him---the sinner as their saviour, the sick as their healer.
And we notice that He walked with them all day. And then He made out like He was going somewhere else or going on by, and they constrained Him to come in. Oh, I like that---constraining Him to come in. Oh, Jesus, You're here in the church tonight. You must go home with me. I want to take You to my home. I never want to lose this feeling of your presence. Let me take You home, and come in and abide with me. Never want to lose that feeling. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

Luke 24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

Luke 24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

Luke 24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

Luke 24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

Luke 24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

Luke 24:28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.

Luke 24:29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

18 You know I want to stop here in my message just a moment and say the most glorious things that I have ever seen happen is when something anointed me. I wish I could stay in that place all the time. You read in the book, that night when the maniac run out on the platform up there to kill me at ... where? Portland. You was there, Brother Jack, or was ... Brother Brown was there, when that maniac run out to kill me, and threatened to do it. Great big, huge fellow. And instead of hating the man, I loved him. He wouldn't have done that. He was probably a man with a family, the same as I had, and he wouldn't have done that. It was the devil on him that was doing that. And when I loved him, I wasn't afraid of him then. Love casteth out fear. It's when you can love...
You heard the story about the old mother possum coming up to the house. Love---it takes love to conquer. The time that bull was going to kill me out there in the field... Run right up on me. And it wasn't that I hated him. I was a game warden. I reached to get a gun and I'd left it in my car. I was glad I did, afterwards. He run up, and I thought, "Well, if I have to die, I might as well die facing him. I can't run from him. There's nothing ... to get out of the way." And just then I thought, "Well, if I have to go I want to go looking at him." And when it did he ran right to me, because he'd catch me anyhow. And he had a chain hanging from his nose. Just killed a colored man a few weeks before that. I'd forgot about him being in that field. I was going to go pray for a sick man. He threw his knee down like this and hit the dirt, roared, and here he come.

19 And I don't know why, but something happened. Always when a healing takes place, or anything, there's something happens. A love comes in and it just takes everything else out of the way. Oh, I tell you, brethren, you can have all the theology you want to, but give me love every time. "Ever since by faith I saw that stream thy flowing wounds supplied, redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die." Love. Oh, if I could only live in that atmosphere all the time.
And as that struck me, I said, "Creature of God, I am the servant of God. I'm on my way over to pray for one of his sick children. Now, I'm in your territory. I'm in your field here. I didn't mean to disturb you. But in the name of Jesus Christ go back and lay down. I'll not bother you." And he looked like he was coming on. Here he come, just as hard as he could. I just stood still, no more afraid than I am right now. And when he got about three foot from me he stopped. He looked at me. He looked so depleted, one way and then the other, turned around, walked over and laid down. I passed by him within two feet, walked right on by him. Love conquers. Something happens, something takes place.

20 The other night I was telling you about down in Mexico when Brother Jack was there. There was an old Mexican man come up on the platform. He was total blind and the poor old fellow... Their economics are so poorly balanced and they don't have nothing to eat. This old fellow didn't have on any shoes, an old hat in his hand sewed up with cords, an old ragged-looking coat on, and trousers almost to his knees, and dust all over them. He come walking across the platform with a little rosary in his hand, a little bunch of beads. And he got up to me, saying something. Somebody was leading him. And I stood and looked at him. I tell you, brother, until you can feel another man's condition, you can never help him. That's right. That's the reason ... God so loved the world---He had a feeling for it. And I looked at him. I thought, "There he is. Probably a bunch of little children somewhere, working for a few pesos a day. And now after all this, maybe never had a good meal in his life. And here in that condition. Now nature's been so bad to him, or his fate has blinded him." And he was...
I put my foot up side of him. I thought, "Here I stand with a good suit on and a pair of shoes, a good pair of shoes." I don't know whether he ever had a pair of shoes on in his life. I thought, "That's not right. And I got a pair at home. I got another suit at home. That man's got just as much right to them as I have." I put my foot up beside of his, thought I'd give him my shoes before I said anything. Why, his foot was much bigger. And his shoulders much wider---I couldn't give him my coat. I thought, "God, what can I do for him?" If my old Dad would have lived he would have been about his age.

21 What was it? Entering in ... all at once something happened. I began to feel that presence of love, sympathy for the old man. He jerked out the little beads and begin to holler, "Hail, Mary, mother of God, bless..."
I said, "That's not necessary. Just put it away."
And he said to Brother Espinoza, "Where is the healer? I want to get a hold of him."
And I said, "Just tell him to bow his head." I put my arms around the old fellow. I started ... I said, "Lord Jesus, this poor old man! I can't give him my shoes, he can't wear them. I can't give him my coat. But, Lord God, You're the only one can help him now. You can give him something that will fit him. That's eyesight. That's what he's craving for."
No more than I said that, I heard someone holler, "Gloria a Dios!" And there he was---he could see as good as I could---running across the platform just as hard as he could go.
And the next night there was a rick of clothes---old scarves, and aprons, and old coats, and rags, and hats piled up on there---two or three times as long as this here, and about that high. How they ever got the right one, I don't know. But what? They'd seen something. Oh, when something happens, something takes place.

22 That's the way it was with Mary that morning. Something must have took place when she was thinking about Him, and there He appeared into her presence. It was the same thing with Moses like it was with Mary. He said, "You're going to conceive in your womb and bear a child."
Now she knowed the angel's message was scriptural. I don't care what kind of an angel it was that appeared, if that angel's message is not scriptural and a promise of God, let it alone. There's been all kinds of angels appearing, everything, and they bring all kinds of messages. If the angel of the Lord whose servant I am would come ... if that angel would come, no matter how much it looked like the pillar of fire, how much it looked like the light, if his message didn't bear record with this Word, I'd let it alone and let him be accursed. It has to be in this. Joseph Smith, you know, saw an angel (he said), but it didn't bear record with the Word.
And Mary knew that she'd just read the day before (Isaiah 9:6), that something was about to happen. And she knowed it was on its way then.

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

23 Moses, likewise, when he had give up all the hope with his theology, and was on the backside of the desert herding Jethro's sheep, and one day he saw a ball of fire setting in a bush back there. He come up and took off his shoes as he was bid, and he listened to see what it was. But when he saw that angel was scriptural... Said, "I've heard the cries of my people and I remembered my covenant." He knowed that God made the promise, and that was the angel that would go with him. "I remember my promise and my covenant. I've seen the sufferings of my people and I've come down to deliver them." Moses knowed it wasn't his anymore because of that "I have come down to deliver them." Oh, that's the good part. "I have come down. You just be a mouthpiece for me." So he seen it was absolutely scriptural.
And Mary saw it was absolutely scriptural, for the day before she'd been reading it, perhaps, in the scroll, as our little drama goes. I tell you, it pays to read God's Word daily now. Jesus said, "Search ye the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me." In otherwise, he said, "If I do not the works of my Father [that was supposed to be done when He come], then believe me not. But if I do the works, though you don't believe me, believe the works because they are the ones that's sent of God."

Exodus 3:1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

Exodus 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Exodus 3:3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

Exodus 3:4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

Exodus 3:5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

Exodus 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

Exodus 3:7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

Exodus 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Exodus 4:12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

John 10:37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

John 10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

24 We are looking for a heavenly visitor in this day. It's a promise of God. Put on your deep spiritual thinking quick, church, and remember, we are now looking for a visitor and there's many claiming it. But the only way that we'll know this heavenly visitor ... because he'll bear record of the Word.
She knew that that angel was from God when she seen his action. Looked at him. It must be an angel. He said, "I'm Gabriel, standing at the right hand of God." Now when God gets ready to do something He sends a messenger---always. Always has. He always will. Gabriel announced the first coming of Christ. Gabriel will announce the second coming of Christ. That's right. Something major is fixing to happen. And we notice this angel, when he said "Hail, Mary," and told her what was going to take place, she didn't doubt him, because she knowed he was perfectly scriptural, that it was supposed to be that way.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

25 Now we're looking for a messenger in this last days, because Jesus said it would be, because all the prophets said it would be, Malachi said it would be. All the prophets have testified. Jesus in the very shadow of the cross spoke more of his second coming than He did of his going away. And when we see these things begin to come to pass, we'd better go to searching the Scripture, because He said there would be false Christs arise and false prophets and would show signs and wonders insomuch that it would deceive the very elected if it was possible.
Billy Graham said in a message, here a few weeks ago, it's already deceived the very elected. I differ with the evangelist. It cannot deceive the very elected, because they are elected of God.

Malachi 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

26 Jesus spoke that in the days just before the coming of the Son of man it would be as it was in Sodom. And as we took it before, last ... in this week, that there was an angel came to Sodom, three of them, for three classes of people. One of them was the Sodomites, the other was the lukewarm church, the other one was the elected and called-out church. Abraham and his group, Lot and his group, and Sodom and their group. All ... two of them went down. The evangelist went down to preach to Sodom and to bring out that group of people, of believers, down there. He just got a few of them out.

Genesis 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

Genesis 19:16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

Luke 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Luke 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

27 But we notice that the one that stayed behind to the elected church, he showed a sign. And it was God doing that. It was not a myth, it was not a theophany. A theophany don't eat. He eat the flesh of a calf, and eat some hoecake, cornbread, and some butter on it, and drank the milk from the cow. A theophany doesn't eat and drink; it was God made manifest in flesh. It sure was. And what was he speaking? Jesus said, "As in that day, so will it be..." God will come again---come into the flesh of his people that He has bought and sanctified, and will show to his elected church the same sign that He showed to his elected church back there.

28 There was no "come out of it." There was no "this, that." He was already out of it, Abraham was. But the other angels was calling out, calling out down there. But Abraham was already out. And the church ... the very word church means "called out." God's church is already called out. It's called out.
And He gave him a sign that He was the One. And when He did, with his back turned, he told Sarah was in the tent behind him laughing, by a power---the same thing that Jesus manifested in his coming, manifested to both Samaritan and to the Jew. And it's predicted that in this last days that He would send his messenger again. And that messenger tonight is not a man. No, sir. It's the Holy Ghost. That's his messenger---God in his church, moving, showing the signs and wonders just before his appearing.

Genesis 18:13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

Hebrews 2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

29 Now, remember, this angel has to be a scriptural angel. Besides that, we're warned of God about false prophets. The Bible said, "If there be a man among you who thinks himself to be a prophet [or so forth], and what he says doesn't come to pass, then don't fear him. I'm not with him. But what he says comes to pass, then I'm with that prophet. Hear him." That's true.
So we find out today that that message is a true Bible message. It's back to the baptism of the Holy Ghost, back to the power of God, back to Pentecost again, restoring the hearts of the fathers back to the children ... or, the children back to the fathers, rather, in this last day. We're looking for a heavenly messenger, and I believe He's here tonight. Amen. I believe that He's here. What does He do? He bears record.

Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Jeremiah 28:9 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.

Malachi 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

30 Now, listen, friends. Don't take a substitute. Don't just shake a man's hand and put your name on the book. That's ... as far as it goes, that's all right. It might help you to get out of the saloon and get in a decent place and try to live right. That won't do it though.
"Except a man be born again he cannot even see the kingdom of God." Now, see means "to understand." There's a lot of people that say they're born again and can't understand the message of God, can't see the angel of the Lord. Their eyes are blinded, brother. Except a man be born of the Holy Ghost... The same Holy Ghost that wrote the Word will confirm the Word, in the same confirmation of the Holy Ghost in you.
You see what I mean? It will bear record of itself. Then our spirit bears record with his Spirit because his Spirit bears record of his Word. "The Word of God is sharper, more powerful [Hebrews 4] than any two-edged sword, even piercing to the ... asunder ... and the marrow of the bone, and ... a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart." That's "Thus saith the Lord," the Lord's Word, just exactly. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever, appearing in his elected church.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

31 Oh, we got great revivals sweeping the lands everywhere, calling out of Sodom, and so forth; but in the elected church we have that person God, the same God that was back yonder. There's only one of them, and that one was in his church manifesting Himself to be the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever, scriptural. If he wasn't with the Scripture, didn't bear record of the Scripture, didn't confirm his Word, then I would not believe him. But being that he does, then I know he's from God---just like Mary did (amen), like Moses did, or any of the rest of them.
If it wasn't scriptural...

Exodus 28:29 And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually.

Exodus 28:30 And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually.

32 Now, back in the Old Testament they had more than one way to find out. If a man dreamed a dream or a prophet prophesied, you know what they did with that? They took them down before the Urim Thummim that hung on the post. The Urim Thummim is believed to have been those twelve birthstones in Aaron's birth-... or, his breastplate carrying the birthstone of each one. Then he hung it on the post, and if the prophet stood up and prophesied and... No matter how real it sounded, if the supernatural didn't answer back---a conglomeration of rainbow lights around, and these glittering like that---no matter what the prophet said, he was wrong. No matter what the dreamer dreamed, it was wrong. But God always answers back in a supernatural way. Amen.
Now, and that priesthood ended, and the Urim and Thummim was taken down, but God's got another Urim and Thummim. This is it: God's Word is the Urim and Thummim. That's God's Word. "Let every man's word be a lie and mine be true," said God. "Heavens and earth will pass away," said Jesus, "but my words shall never pass away."
Now, then if one speaks and it's not scriptural, don't believe it. If he speaks and it is scriptural, wait a minute. Try it with the Urim and Thummim. Then if the supernatural answers back that it is the truth, then believe it. That's the way to believe a true message. If the Bible promises anything and the Bible says it's so, that's God's Urim and Thummim. If the preacher is preaching like the Bible said, that's God's messenger, God's witness. Then if it is, then the supernatural of that Word will be made manifest and prove itself to be God. God keeps his promise.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Romans 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

33 We're looking for a messenger. That messenger is the Holy Spirit. The Bible said, "A little while and the world won't see me no more [Jesus did], yet ye shall see me, for I'll be with you to the end of the world. The works that I do shall you do also. More than this shall you do, for I go unto my Father." Now, the word there more, in the right translation... I'm using it there in more because it said in the King James greater. Who could do any greater? He raised the dead, stopped nature, done everything.
But then He was in one person. All of God was bottled up into one man, Jesus Christ. But in this time He's across the universe in his church, doing more of it, the same works. "The same works that I do shall they do also. More than this shall I do, because I return back to the pillar of fire that I was before I was made flesh and dwelt on the earth. I showed myself alive by the same works and the same manifestations I did." That is exactly right. Jesus said, when He was here on earth, "I come from God and I return to God." Is that right? All right. If He was God...

Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

34 He was spoke to there one day, and they was talking to Him about not being fifty years old yet and saw Abraham. He said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." I AM was that pillar of fire that was in the bush with Moses. That was the scriptural pillar of fire. That same is the I AM. Not "I was" or "will be"; I AM, always just the same yesterday, today, and forever.
We see when I AM was made present among us in a body of his own Son that He created ... own body. Crossed his cast from God to become a human, in order to bring us back to salvation and back to the garden of Eden again. Crossed Himself, spread his tents among us---eat like us, and slept like us, and walked like us and looked like us. He become us, that we through Him might become Him, joint heirs with Him into the kingdom.

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

35 Then, when we find that pillar of fire, when it was with Him, it performed signs and wonders. And He confessed, "It's not me that doeth the works; it's my Father that dwelleth in me. He doeth the works. For verily, verily I say unto you the Son can do nothing in Himself until He sees the Father do it also. And the Son does what the Father shows him. He worketh and I worketh hitherto." Amen. Right.
He died, rose again on the third day. And a few days after that there was a little critical, hooked-nosed Jew, with a bunch of stuff in his pocket, going down to persecute the church, all them that was in "this way." Went down on his road to Damascus and he was stricken down. And when he looked up he saw a great pillar of fire hanging there, saying, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?"
He said, "Who are you, Lord? Who is this pillar of fire?"
"I come from God, I go to God." He said, "I am Jesus, and it's hard for you to kick against the pricks."

John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

Acts 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Acts 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

36 The prophet said there would be a former rain and the latter rain, and in the latter rain would be both former and latter together---a great church universal that would sweep from one side of the world to the other side of the world. A great message, great signs and wonders, would be accomplished by this church. Daniel said the people that know their God in that day shall do exploits. That's exactly where we're living at in this day.
Now the mechanical eye of the camera shows over us that that pillar of fire is the same pillar of fire that led the children of Israel. Now, it's got to do the same things it did when it was in Him, or it is not the same pillar of fire. But if it does the same things, how can you doubt it? It's scriptural.

Exodus 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

37 "Hail, Mary, blessed art thou amongst women. Thou hast found favor with God." Oh, church, hail. Blessed are you among the people because you've found favor with God. You've believed for eternal life and God's give you the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Right. This messenger will be a true messenger of God, the Holy Spirit, which is God's message.
Notice, Mary as soon as she seen it was scriptural, she didn't say, "I'll go over and see whether Dr. Jones says it's right or not." She didn't go by to see if Rabbi Kabinsky thought it was right or not. She never had nothing to do with it. You know what she said? She said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to your word." For she knowed that word was God's word, that messenger was God's messenger, that angel was God's angel, because it stayed with God's Word. Amen. "Behold the handmaid of the Lord"; said, "How will it be?"
Said, "The Holy Ghost shall overshadow you and this holy thing that will be born to you shall be called the Son of God."
She said, "Here I am. I don't know how it's going to happen. It don't make any difference. You said so, it's scriptural, I believe it, I accept it." She started right out praising God before she felt life, before she felt any sign of anything. She didn't want no more signs. She had his Word and that was all was necessary. Amen. I like that.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Luke 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

38 Moses, as soon as he got a hold of God and seen it was scriptural, here he went to Egypt. As soon as Mary got a hold of ... the angel got a hold of her, rather, and she seen him and knowed it was God because it was scriptural, she took his word and went around testifying of something that didn't even show one evidence of ever being.
Another thing, she testified of something that never had happened before. Oh, praise be the Lord! She testified of something that had never happened. Never had a virgin conceived. But she had the angel's word and the angel was scriptural, so she knowed it was promised. And the angel had the Word of the Lord and promised it. And because she thought herself humble and lowly yet God had chose her, so she was just happy about it. She went forth with her message, telling everybody she was going to have a baby before she even had the first sign of a baby. She didn't wait and say, "Now wait, let me feel and see if I feel any better or not." No, no. Oh, God, give us more Marys.

39 Beaumont and the rest of the world needs Marys like that, that can take God at his Word and start rejoicing before anything happens. What about you women in wheel chairs, and you brothers and sisters here with heart trouble, and sickness, and everything, when the presence of the Lord is so close? My, my! You know it's the Word of the Lord. The Lord promised it. You say, "Brother Branham, if you'll come down and lay hands on me..." That's not it. You're already healed because "He was wounded for your transgressions, He was bruised for your iniquities, the chastisement of your peace was upon Him, and with his stripes you were healed." It's already past tense. Just receive it and start rejoicing.
"Thank You, Lord. I now see it. Bless God, I'm healed. I don't care what anybody else says or how I feel, I'm healed anyhow." That's it.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

40 The angel's message ... it's always been that way. That's the way God wants. What did it do? The changed ... by taking God at his word changed the whole natural course of life for her. It'll do the same thing for you. It certainly will. It'll take you, sinner, and wash you as white as snow. It will take you, critic, and make you one of us. It sure will. It'll take you that's sick and make you well. It'll take you that's on your road to hell and change you around and start you up to heaven. Just take Him at his Word and believe it and start rejoicing.
The messenger of the Lord is here, the Holy Ghost moving around over the people, anointing them. If you're a stranger, you want to know what's the matter with them people, that's what it is. Joel promised it. On the day of Pentecost Peter said, "This is that." I want to add something to that. If this isn't that, I want to keep this till that comes because I'm having an awful good time with this. And I believe this is that---the same that that was that at that day. Oh, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joel 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

41 Mary didn't wait. She didn't care about critics, she didn't care what anybody said, she had met an angel. She'd seen his voice ... or, seen his presence and she knowed that he'd told her the truth because it was scriptural---promised a blessing to her, just go on believe it. And she knowed it was going to happen. Oh, there's something another about it, when you hit something like that you can't keep still about it.
The angel told her that her cousin Elisabeth... Was up in the hilly country of Judea. Was old, about seventy years old. And she had conceived and was going to have a son. It was already six months with her as a mother. Of course, the little baby, little John, hadn't had no life yet. They kind of worried about it. So we find out that Elisabeth...
Zechariah was her husband, which was a priest. He was at the temple along about six months before this happened. You know, God gets to getting things together amongst the humble people.

Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Luke 1:7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

Luke 1:8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

Luke 1:9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

Luke 1:10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

Luke 1:11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

Luke 1:12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Luke 1:23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

42 Look at Zechariah. Now the angel Gabriel came to him. He was in the temple ministering, and when he did, burning incense was his lot, standing at the altar. And he happened to look at the right-hand side, the right-hand side of the altar. I guess you always wonder why I bring the people this way. It's where He stands. So, at the right-hand side of the altar, and there stood an angel. And told him that after the days of his ministration there he was going home and be with his wife, and she'd conceive and bear a son, a child.
And that preacher doubted that word. Why, he had many times ... if he was going to be the father of the child, look at Sarah. He had some examples in the Bible. Look at Hannah at the temple, many examples like that. And still he doubted.
How much difference it was from that calloused teacher of philosophy... How much difference there was from that seminary minister than there was from that little virgin. She never questioned. She said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord." That's all. She took him at his word and that settled it. But this man couldn't believe it.
He said, "I'm Gabriel that stands in the presence of God. My word shall be fulfilled." He knowed what he was talking about. He said, "Because you doubted me you'll be dumb until the day the baby is born." He went home. His wife conceived and hid herself six months.

Luke 1:19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

Luke 1:20 And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

43 Mary thought, "Oh, isn't that wonderful? Now I'm going to have a baby, and there Elisabeth, my cousin [Jesus and John were second cousins.] there ... I tell you, it's going to be wonderful because that she's going to have a baby, and I'm going to have a baby. I just can't hold it any longer. I'm going right up to tell her." Right up to the mountain she went, as hard as she could go. I can just see her pretty little face shining---she was just about eighteen years old, I imagine---and her black hair blowing back like that. And she was on her road, this little robe wrapped around her.
And you know Elisabeth had hid herself. I kind of like that. I think it looks so disgraceful to see women out like here with these shorts on, and things, when they're to be mother. It looks pitiful. What a difference. That's horrible. (I know I oughtn't ... I maybe not oughtn't to say it. If I offend you, you forgive me. But you'd listen to your doctor; I'm your brother, see.) So there the woman in that condition; but she hid herself. I can imagine her sitting back there, you know, kind of snubbing a little, knitting some little ... what is it? Little booties, you know, getting them all ready like that, and knitting a little blanket. But she was afraid, because she said, "Now I'm old and..."

Luke 1:25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Luke 1:39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

44 Notice the angel of the Lord... They were righteous, the Bible said, her and Zechariah. They were righteous, keeping all the commandments of God. That's where angels appear---always appears in a righteous family, somewhere where God can use something, something to work with. And then, she was making these little booties. And I imagine there was a little window---like it is in Palestine sometimes, no window light in it, but just a little shade hanging down. And she heard something. She raised up, and she looked coming up, and she said, "You know, I believe that looks like my cousin Mary. Look at her little face shine. Why, she's growed up. I hear she's going to get married." So it must've been, "Well, she's a young woman, but that's Mary." So she slips her little robe on, you know, and runs out to meet her.

Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

45 And women in them days are not like they are now, you know. They run and throwed their arms around one another and hugged one another. You know, I like friendliness, don't you? I just hate to see this little old silly stuff, this 1960 version of friendliness. Oh, my, there's not enough of it. Now you southerners down here don't notice so bad, but up there, oh, my! I went to my uncle here not long ago in New York. He had been living in one house twenty years, and his neighbor as close as that Texas flag there, to him. I said, "Who lives there?"
He said, "I don't know."
I said, "You've fallen from grace." I said, "How long has he lived there?"
Said, "He was there when I come here." You don't know your neighbor's dead till you read it in the paper. That's right---no friendliness.

46 Here not long ago Brother Moore and I and Brother Brown went down to see a little boy named David, a few years ago down here in Cal... or, Florida. They had us out there. And Brother Hukstra, I believe it was, told me, said, "The Duchess wants to see you."
And I said, "The who?"
Said, "The Duchess."
I said, "What's that?"
And said, "It's the woman that owns all this property." Said, "She's wealthy."
"Well," I said, "I can't see her. There's too many sick people."
Said, "But she's the Duchess."
I said, "That don't make her any different from anybody else."
So he said... Well, they had her there when I went out. And when I went out... I'm not ... God forgive me if you think I'm making fun of the woman. I'm not. But she had enough jewels on her hands to send a missionary around the world ten times with the gospel. That's right. Standing out there ... and she had on a pair of "specs." She didn't have them on, but she had them on a stick holding it out like this. Great big, old, fat lady. And she come out. I walked out the tent. And I said, "I ain't got time to see her. If I got any time left, let me see them sick people out there," see.

47 And said, "But she lets you have the grounds."
I said, "Well, that's all right if she let David have the grounds, and we appreciate that. But she's all right, nothing wrong with her. Let me see these people down here." Well, they wanted me to see her.
So when I went out, she said, "Are you Dr. Branham?"
I said, "No, ma'am." I said, "I'm Brother Branham."
She said... Now you know nobody can look through a pair of "specs" that far away from you. And she looked over like this, she said, "Well, Dr. Branham," she said, "I'm chawmed."
I reached up and looked at that hand (held out her hand to shake hands). Well, I thought I'd be a gentleman. I got a hold of her big hand and pulled it down. I said, "Get it down here so I'll know you next time I see you," like that. Oh, I like something feeling!

48 Paul Rader---the man that wrote this song that I sing here, "Only Believe"---said one morning him and his wife was having a little family affair, a little fuss with one another. Said first thing you know... He was reading the paper, and she said something, "Paul, will you give me some money?"
Said, "I ain't got no money." And went on like that a little bit, and said after awhile... He never noticed it hurt her feelings. She kind of sat there. And said, "Well, if that's how easy her feelings are hurt, let her sit there." You know how we do, brethren, sometimes, I guess.
And so then he said she'd always stand at the door and kiss him when he went out. Then he'd go to the gate. Then when ... he'd turn around and wave good-bye, and she'd wave good-bye. Said he got up and got his hat, and said, "Just let her pout it out." Said he went to the door, and said stuck out her lips, and kissed her, went out to the end of the gate, turned around and looked back. Said she was standing there at the door. Said he waved and she waved.
Said he started on down the street. Said something begin to deal with him. "You done wrong, Paul." (Poor old Paul's in glory tonight.) But said, "You done wrong, Paul. What if something would happen to her today?" Said he got to thinking about it. Oh, my, what if something would happen? "You'd never see her again on earth." Oh, my!
He said it got worse. Said he said, "Lord, forgive me. I'll go back and make it right." Said he run back real quick and opened the gate, shoved the door open, looked all around. He could hear something going [sound of sniffling]. Said she was standing behind the door, crying. Said he reached around. He never said a word. He went [sound of a kiss] kissed her again, run back out to the end of the gate, and turned around and waved. Said she waved, just like she did the first time, but the second time had a feeling in it. So I think that's the way it is today. We want ... I want a feeling in it, something that's real to me.

49 Not long ago me and my wife were downtown. There was a lady said, "How do you do, Sister Branham?"
And I looked around at her, and I said, "Hey, hey, that lady spoke to you, Honey."
Said, "I spoke to her."
I said, "Well, I know she didn't hear you. I didn't. I'm sitting right here by you."
"Oh," she said, "I smiled at her."
"Oh," I said.
[break in tape]

50 She said, "You know, Mary, I'm to be a mother."
"Yes, yes," said Mary, her little eyes sparkling---you know, half full of tears of joy. "Yes, yes, I know all about it."
"You know all about it?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know all about it."
"But, Mary, I'm bothered. It's six months with me as mother now and the baby's never moved. Now you know that's all unnatural. About three months is about right, but this is six months, and little John hadn't never moved yet." So she said, "I'm just a little bit worried about it and everything."
She said, "Yeah, I understand it." And said, "You know, I'm going to have a baby too."
"Oh, I see. You and Joseph is already married."
"No, we're not married."
"What, Mary? You're not married, and going to have a baby?"
"Yes, that's right."
"Oh, Honey, what do you mean?"
"Well, the same way I knowed that you was going to have a baby. The angel Gabriel met me and he told me about your case, and he said the Holy Ghost would come upon me, and it's already done. And the baby that I'll have will be the Son of God." And said, "She even told me ... he told me what to name it." Said, "I shall call his name Jesus."
And I can see Elisabeth's face brighten up. Said, "Whence cometh the mother of my Lord? for as soon as your salutation came into my ears my baby leaped in the womb for joy."

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Luke 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luke 1:43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Luke 1:44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

51 I want to ask you something, friends. If the first time that the name of Jesus Christ was ever spoke by mortal lips brought a dead baby in the womb of a mother to life, what ought it to do to a born-again congregation that claims to be filled with the Holy Ghost? Hallelujah! Amen! It ought to heal the cancer, open the blind eyes, set the captive free, fill with the Holy Ghost, and all kinds of things in that precious name of the Lord Jesus, make the sinner weep for his sins. Oh, my!
This crowd looks to me like it's swimming around and around. Oh, what God could do right now! The messenger of the Holy Spirit of God is in the building today---the messenger, the Holy Ghost, bringing peace, reflecting Jesus Christ. The great pillar of fire hangs over us. You say, "I don't see it." But you can feel it, so... One sense of the body is just as good as the other one. So your sight could deceive you more than your feeling.
So then if it don't do the same work, then it isn't the same Holy Ghost; but if it does the same work, then it is the Holy Ghost, the same one. Amen. Do you believe that? How many ... is there sinners? How many in here would like to say, "I would like to enjoy these blessings, sit in this Shekinah glory with you people and enjoy the blessings of God."? Would you raise your hand, say, "Remember me, Brother Branham, as you pray." God bless you, brother. God bless you, brother. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you, brother. You, over there, you and you. That's right. Another raise up your hand, say, "Brother Branham, pray for me." God bless you, young man. That's very fine.

52 This morning as I was going in to the breakfast a sweet little boy came, put his arms around my neck. His father is one of the pastors here of the Assemblies of God. I believe he's on the platform. He was this morning. And the little boy was called out in the meeting somewhere and had crossed eyes---and his little eyes just as straight as mine is. That's been years ago.
And another little brother come up and shook my hand. Said his little girl had a great big goiter on her throat. And I was down at Jack Moore's church. Said the Holy Spirit moved around and called her out there in the audience and told her. The goiter just vanished and disappeared and went away. There she was. Oh, my!
What is it? What is that pillar of fire? It's the angel of the Lord. What is the angel of the Lord? The same one was in the burning bush, the same one that was in Jesus Christ, the same one that's in you tonight. Amen. The same one here, the same great Lord Jesus.

53 Would there be another, before we pray, would like to raise up your hands and say, "Remember me, Brother Branham. Remember me."? God bless you, sir. God bless you. And the little boy way back, and way on the outside there, all the way back. Yes. Wherever you are, God knows. Now let's bow our heads just a moment. And now, sister, would you play for me this: "The Great Physician Now Is Near"? Just a chord, if you will, please.

54 ... remember near Fort Wayne... I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I've been in the pulpit now thirty-one years. This has been about twenty-eight years ago. I was praying for a little boy and that music was going on. The little boy was healed. Jumped out of my arms, a paralytic, run down and jumped into the arms of his mother. And when he did a little Dunkard girl was playing the piano. And she raised up, that hair fell down across her lap, like that, she began singing in the Spirit; and the piano she was playing, them ivory keys moving right on, "The great physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus"---hundreds of people standing looking at it.
Not a bit more than it was Sunday before last in my Tabernacle, where three to four hundred people standing there, and this pillar of fire appeared visible the second time in Jeffersonville. (The first time ... when they took it down on the river.) And there He stood for fifteen minutes, letting everybody see Him and look at Him. Brother, we're at the end of the road.

55 Our heavenly Father, we are coming now, Lord, to Thee as unto a living stone. We're coming, Lord, because that we believe that You are, and a rewarder of those that diligently seek after Thee. We pray for your blessings. We pray that You'll help this audience tonight. And those that raised their hands, may they be a partaker of this great Holy Spirit, the messenger of the last day.
"I'll pour out my spirit upon all flesh." You promised it. In the last days You said there would be a former and latter rain together: that is, on one side of the earth and on the other side of the earth, both sides, would come a rain. Into the foreign fields and into these fields would come a rain. So we believe that that hour is here. We see the Holy Spirit making manifest the same things like He did when He was here before. Bless these dear people, Father, I pray. Be Thou near them. Give them life eternal. Grant it, Lord. I commit them to Thee now, in the name of the Lord Jesus. With our heads bowed, let's just pray a little bit.

Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

56 "The great physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus. He speaks the drooping heart to cheer." Oh, breathe on us, Holy Spirit. Come into your church, Lord Jesus, the great morning star, the pillar of fire. Burn your way through every unbelief into the hearts of the people tonight. May they be like Mary, that they can see your presence and know it's You, then your promises are still good, every promise. You promised to do this. Your promise was that You'd already healed them, for You was wounded for their transgressions, "with the stripes you were healed." Grant it, Father, to this waiting audience. We're waiting on You now. Move, in Christ's name, I pray.
Just watching for a few moments to see what'll take place. Oh, how sweet. Let's raise our heads real easy now. I was waiting for you to get quiet. How many people in here that's sick and doesn't have a prayer card? Raise up your hands for God to heal you. A confirmation is three, I believe. Is that right, in the Bible? If I have told the truth, preached the truth, then God's obligated to back that truth up, if that's his truth.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

57 Now we got a bunch of prayer cards in here. We're not calling them. I just want you to know that it doesn't take prayer cards. Ask the ministers if it does. Ask the brothers who go with me everywhere.
We'll be riding down the road, I'll say, "Wait. At another corner there's going to be a certain thing. A man is going to be standing there. He's got a certain thing, and wants me to go to a certain place, a certain thing. We're going over here and this is going to happen." Sure. It never fails. It just can't fail---it's God. Now what is it doing? Vindicating that He is the same. Now it isn't me; it's Him.

58 I don't see a person in front of me that I know, unless it's this two little girls. I believe this is Brother Evans' two girls. Isn't that right? Right here, that's the only ones that I know. I was looking just to see if I could see anybody that I really knew. But only ones I see that I know... I seen Brother Evans somewhere awhile ago, but I've lost him. Oh, yes, here's Brother Dauch, sitting right here, from Ohio. Brother Bill Dauch, a friend of mine, sitting right here, and Sister Dauch. There's Sister Evans. Now I've got her, right back behind... All right. Right along in there, Brother Evans or Sister Evans. Where's Brother Welch? Sitting back there. All right.
So that they'll know who you all are, raise up your hand. Anybody in here knows me, and know I know you, raise up your hand---know that I know you. All right, see. Now you that know that I do not know you, and you're sick, raise up your hands. Raise up your hands. Just look and see where it's at. See? About everywhere. All right.

59 If Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, the Bible said that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. Is that right? And the Word was made flesh. That's when God's word that He spoke was made flesh.
Do you know the very dirt that you're sitting on is the manifestation of the word of God? That's God's word made manifest. If it isn't, where did it come from? He made the world out of things that doth not appear. He brings the earth together. Just spoke the Word. Said, "Let there be," and there was. He's a creator. All right. So the chair that you're sitting on is the word of God. The dirt that the floor rests on is the word of God. All these things are from the dust of the earth, the word of God. And you, yourself, are the word of God. That's right. Then why can't that little heart in there begin to move all the doubt out of this thing here. Let it be.

Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

60 Now, and the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the marrow of the bone and the ... sunder of the marrow of the bone; and the Word of God---which is Jesus---is a discerner of the thoughts, in to the heart and mind. Is that right?
Now when the Word was here and made flesh and dwelt among us in the form of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, a little woman by faith touched his garment one day. He didn't feel it physically, but He turned around and looked, said, "Who touched me? Who touched me?"
Even Peter rebuked Him, said, "Lord, everybody is touching You."
He said, "Yes, I perceived virtue went out of me. I got weak. My strength left me." And He said... Looked all around over the audience and He found the little woman. Told her her blood issue that she had, her faith had saved her (is that right?) and she was healed. He never said, "I did it." She did it herself. Said, "Your faith hath saved you."

Matthew 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Matthew 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

61 Now, the Bible said He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. And the book of Hebrews said that He's the high priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. And if He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, if you touch that same high priest, the same high priest will act the same way. The way He acted the first time, He has to act the second time. If He didn't, He acted wrong when He did it the first time. If He made Himself known as Messiah to the Jews and the Samaritans by perceiving the thoughts in their mind and telling them who they was, or what they was, and so forth like that, or something they had done... ?
How many knows that's the truth, that's the Bible truth, that's the way He made Himself known? Well, if that's the way He made it known to the Jews and to the Samaritans, He's got to make it known to the Gentiles, or He made it known wrong to them. See what I mean?
Now all that believe that, raise up your hand, say, "I believe that He promised it." Thank you. That did it. See, remember what the angel said: "If you can get the people to believe you." See? Not believe me---it's Him---but believe that He sent me to you. Now you pray and touch the high priest. And if He will turn me from this platform and speak to you, you let ... you be the judge whether it's right or not. You be the judge whether it's right or not.

Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

62 You just say... Now look away from me as a man, and say, "Lord Jesus, I'm in need." And don't try to press your way if you don't get nowhere then. Just relax yourself, say, "I believe it, Lord, there's not a doubt in my mind. The man don't know me, and I'm way away from him. I'm out here in the audience [way back in the back, or standing around the ring, or somewhere like that]. Now I know I believe You. If You'll just let me touch You, let him turn to me, I'll know that that isn't Brother Branham because he don't know me. Neither does he know who I am, or what I've done, or what I have done, or what I will do. But You know it. So if You'll just let him turn, I know it's You. I'll believe his message then, because You got him under control. See, it's You speaking through him, see."
Would you believe that? How many would believe it if they could see it done with their own eyes? Not back in some dark room; right here before the public like our Lord's doing. Don't have ... it ain't nothing secretly; it's right out here. It's just to the believers. Now you just pray.

63 I might have been mistaken. I thought it was somewhere right here, but it must not have been. I'll watch it---it's a light. Did this side raise up their hands that they were sick too, and didn't know me? Now He's right here. You that sees them pictures and things, just think---that mechanical eye of the picture saw it before many people ever saw it ... take the picture. If I die tonight, if this is my last day on earth, my testimony is true. The mechanical eye of the camera has proved it seven or eight times in different nations. It's true. The church knows it around the world.
I've told the truth because I speak of Him. That's the reason I'm not afraid but what He'll speak back that I've told the truth, because I'm not testifying of myself; I'm testifying of Him. Now be real reverent and believe.
Say, "What are you waiting on, Brother Branham?" I'm waiting on Him. If He don't tell me, I can't do it, that's all. It takes your faith to do something. Or maybe He's not pleased with us doing it. How many's got prayer cards then? Anybody got prayer cards? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, about eight prayer cards left, 9. We'll call them up if He doesn't do it. I like to see it done without prayer cards so that you see the prayer card has nothing to do with it.

64 God, help us tonight. Now I pray that You'll grant it. I've come here with good faith, come here believing, believing that You would do it. I pray that You'll help me now. Give to me of your Spirit, Lord. Grant it, so it can be for your glory. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Yes, here it is. Thank You, Lord. Do you believe God will heal you of that hernia, lady? Make you well? All right. Accept it. Raise up your hand. All right. Have you got a prayer card? You don't. You don't need it. I never seen that woman in my life. Are we strangers to one another, sister dear? I don't know you. If that's right, raise up your hand so the audience can see. Was that your trouble? You was sitting there praying, wasn't you? Now I got a contact of you. You were praying to Jesus, "Let it be me." Is that right? Wave your hand like that. Raise up your hand, wave your hand, so they see. Now, how did I know what she was praying about and the words that she was saying? Don't you see? It's Christ.
Here, a little lady just moved herself around, sitting there, now. You want to get over that heart trouble, sister? You don't have to come up here. Just look this way. You want to get over your heart trouble? All right. Raise up your hand, say, "I accept it." All right, go home, your heart trouble's over. Jesus Christ makes you well.

65 The little lady sitting right behind her, you got female trouble. Stand up if that's right. All right. Have you got a prayer card? You have one. I didn't aim to call you. All right. Go home. You're bothered with your eyes. They're going bad, too. Is that right? Wave your hand. Not because you got on glasses, but they're getting worse. All right. They won't no more now. Go home, Jesus Christ makes you well.
Say, do me a favor, will you? That they might know, being that you had a card... That lady sitting there next to you, over on this side over here, suffering there with a goiter, you believe that Jesus Christ will make you well? It's an inward goiter, but that's all right. Believe and it'll go away from you. All right.

66 Now if you believe I be a prophet of God, put your hand on the woman next to you, crying there. The angel of the Lord's over her. She's got trouble with her head. If that's right, stand on your foot, lady, the one that just called then. All right. Raise up if that's the truth, the one with the handkerchief in her hand. All right. Jesus Christ makes you well. Go home, be healed.
Do you believe Him? Now is that angel scriptural? Here, way back here, there He is---way back here, way back. There's a man and his wife. The wife has diabetes, the man has arthritis. Oh, if I could just make them understand. God, help me. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkerson, stand up on your feet. Jesus Christ makes you well. Go home and be well. Christ makes you well.
Do you have a prayer card? You don't? You don't have one, you don't need one. While you're standing on your feet, listen to this, friends. I do not know you at all, do I? If I don't know you, shake your hands back and forth. See, I don't know you. You was sitting there praying. Is that right? Something's happened to you. Is that right? All right. Is that what your trouble was? Is that what your name was? All that he said is right? Wave your hand back like this if it's right. Wave your hand. All right. There you are. Go home, Jesus Christ makes you well.
What did they touch? Do you believe the angel, as before, is the angel of God? It's not me. I don't know them people. I'm testifying, they're testifying, we don't know one another so it has to be the angel of the Lord. And He's doing the very scriptural things that Jesus said He would do just before it burnt like Sodom. Amen.

67 Let's see if you'll believe. Here, here it is again, right here in the corner. Wait, it's the lady... No. Just a moment. No, it isn't the lady standing there. It's a lady sitting down here. That's right. A little lady sitting here. I seen a child, but it's a lady sitting down, and she's suffering with hemorrhoids. And that's her little girl sitting there. She's suffering with asthma. That's "thus saith the Lord." Stand on your feet and accept your healing. Jesus Christ makes you well. Stand up, both of you. If we're strangers to one another, raise up your hands and wave your hands. All right. Go home, honey. It's all over, little girl, you'll be made well.
Do you believe? Look here, look here, look here, look here. Can't you see that, Brother Jack? Look here, right here, standing right over this man here. The man's suffering with a hernia. That's right. He's not from this city---from a city called Orange. Right. His name is Mr. Sack. Is that right, sir? If I'm a stranger to you, wave your hands back and forth like this. You were sitting there saying, "Let it be me, Lord." Is that right? Wave your hand.
O God, [unclear words] ... can you fail to see it? I command every sick person in here to stand on your feet and receive your healing in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Rise up, don't be afraid. Believe Him with all your heart.
